@cedar jungle To unlock every faction from the beginning, you can type greh/renegades/isg/z when you start a new game in the character creation screen.
Since this sound strange, I literally mean "TYPE WITH YOUR KEYBOARD", you don't have an option where you can type in, like an actual console command.

For example, if you LITERALLY WRITE on your keyboard isg, and then you open the faction menu, you'll see the UNISG icon. Same goes for the other factions.
Another good example, ever played GTA? Do a "GTA cheat" in the character creation screen.

yes/no. UNISG nosorog has high enough BR class that with a plate literally the only ammo that can pen you is .338 lapua and gauss, so you can stack the new BR mitigation stat and be much tankier against most things

To get a yellow stash, finish 7 tasks, then keep doing things that will get you stash coordinates (e.g. more tasks, opening PDAs, looting bodies). Yep its an engine patch with optimizations to its files and features

MT exes mainly reduce stuttering and spread the workload across cpu threads, you'll also see about 1-20% performance improvement on average fps and 1% lows (hardware dependent, might be more or less)

its nothing super crazy but its better than the base engine

It is exactly that. Your CPU has multiple cores (and some cores may have multiple 'threads' but let's not think about that). STALKER uses XRay engine which is such an old engine, that they generally didn't program their software in a way that they could utilize all cores. So most developers just hardcoded all of their software to assume you have 2 cores.

I run mine via GOG. It is exactly as moddable as the non-GOG version. Mod Organizer 2 is included in GOG, so you can install other mods just like on non-GOG.

So if you own a Stalker game in GOG, for technically non-adept people, I'd 100% recommend it.

It installed under D:\GOG\STALKER GAMMA. Under there I have the usual GAMMA and Anomaly folders.

The game launched on it's own, 0 issues. Honestly I'm wondering why they do not recommend GOG for those who own it.
