Cameras are squares. Regular scopes don't do that because glass n shit can be circles, but thermal is a camera which is a square. You have thermals, you can deal with a little bit of bordering

Similar to a kitten, you can fix the issue by punting the thermal into a swamp and getting something better (this post fact checked by puppy gang)

As a newer player, it's pretty straight forward now. Strip parts and slot them into weapons to fix em up slowly, or use a repair kit if you can't find something. Once your shit is fixed up, just carry a cleaning kit around with you and you're golden
