Search up "Steam OS windows drivers" or something. I personally searched "Are there drivers for windows OS on Steam Deck" and it put me in a Steam page with a bunch of drivers.
A lot of windows emulators or virtual machines basically neuter the hardware they're running on in order to function and keep the main OS active; it often fucks with games and applications depending on the core systems, such as older games. Afaik, Steam Deck is a PC in its own right. Definitely run Windows 10 though, but to get the extended security update, search up "massgrave.dev" and anything related to massgrave and "win 10 esu", they don't turn up in regular search functions

Wild take, considering you're probably thinking about Arch linux when saying like that, yet even it now has Archinstall and distros made on top of it which are easy to install and are out-of-box ready and good to use immediately. Other non-arch based distros are, as well, good out-of-box such as Mint. And it breaks, sure, and you need to fix it, but so does Windows

That's really not the case today if you get a distro with a good package manager.

I use CachyOS with KDE on my laptop and the only thing I like to do is replace Octopi with Pamac, since it looks more modern. Then you just enable AUR and flatpacks, and you just lookup the things you want, and it will basically just install them.

If you have specific hardware, like a 2in1 or some other external things. It might be difficult. But for normal use. It`s really easy.
