i think they're broken right now tbh. But supposedly if you don't do things that enable the badges in the game your badge progress regresses
But several people on reddit have shown examples like throwing 8 lobs in the game and their special delivery badge still regresses
But certain badges like chase down don't make sense to regress because how often are you getting a chase down in a game once every 5 games at best

Could somebody please explain shooting in this game like I'm 5 years old? I am amazingly trash at the game now (haven't played 2k in general since 20) and can't seem to find my groove with 3PT shooting (I'm a 3&D Two Guard). I do know turning the meter off yields a 20% increased green window, but I just can't get the release itself consistent enough to hit shots. I'm hearing all sorts of fuss about shot cues but can't exactly understand what it is the setting does. Any advice for someone that doesn't want to sell at the perimeter?

When you see "Shooting Slump" in the HUD, it's just the game letting you know you've missed 3 shots in a row and your Teammate Grade is getting hit, but it doesn't affect your ability to shoot at all. We plan to bump the counter up to 5 based on feedback either way.

Ratings can still go up or down +/- 4 points for being Warm/Cold in Takeover just like past 2K's. So if you are "in a slump" being cold is something you might be feeling. Try making some layups and contribute in other ways to get your Take meter positive again.

The defense is not OP. We've had several years where people have gotten into the bad habit of dribbling poorly, spamming meaninglessly and going through people.

They need to learn to protect the ball, dribble with head and more importantly move the ball.

You can't be dribbling 24s with a defensive specialist hounding you.

They made it so right after you spend $50, within two games you need to spend more to keep up. There is a big warning you have unspent attribute points going forward.
It is great game otherwise though. I assume this is as bad as the microtransactions can get

Try playing around with your timing settings in controller settings. The art of shooting gym is usually where I go and practice dribble moves and shot timing.

I dont think the delay is cross platform gaming, I think its just bad logic put together by 2k. They reduced the green window this year, making their evaluation formula for green tighter. This means that even a 2ms delay on the game, causes everyones shot to be different.

This is not meant as brag. Rec has become really annoying because I start to carry my team so hard, they just goof around and take horrible shots and drive into double/triple. VC does not seem to work towards actually making shots. I’ve spent $250 on VC and it means nothing even if my overall is a 90. Change shots, change dunks, but it’s doesn’t go in. I understand badges mean something but Overall should mean something at the same level of play. Please help with this issue because the gameplay is terrible even with two 90 overall players at different positions.

2k pls patch steals ppl not even playing defense just pressing square or X and getting a steal
 gold unpluckable is basically none and HOF is basically bronze. Y’all patch shooting, dribbling speed, multiple playmaking and shooting badges don’t progress. Not calling the game bad I think it’s good but y’all are killing offense and buffing defense too a point all you have to do is press 1 button. Pls fix this 2k

do you mean takeover? if so, it depends on your skill. good actions = takeover meter increases. bad actions = meter decreases.

also sometimes 2k just basically stalls your meter so that any growth is barely visible and there’s nothing you can really do about that (as far as i know) đŸ€·

Why the hell is the shot timing different across various game modes? It's easier to shoot in the park than the rec. A jumpshot for a character should be straight across the board. All game modes and difficulties.

Sorry for the short story in advance. Yeah my biggest complaints (outside of the atrocious predatory pay to win) is, the input delay (this is my biggest complaint by far, it makes it so clunky and unplayable), the dunk/layup meter is wonky, jumpshots started being so inconsistent in shot feedback this past weekend, and the badge regression. I think badge progression was improved recently, it was noticeable. I just don't think something should move down for not using it one game (whether that's actually going from gold to silver or just sliding down the gold bar closer to silver, it shouldn't be after just 1 game.) You literally can't use every single badge every game to maintain. Plus I play a lot of 1v1 in the theatre when my friends aren't on, so ALL of my passing badges go down.

Something I've always wished they would do when they introduced rebirths, let us respec our curent build so we don't have to pay VC for a whole nother build. It would be one thing if it were cheaper, like it used to be but $150 after you already spent $150 on one and $80 for the game... come on now lol if it weren't a monopoly over the basketball games, that would not fly
