My PTSD is very strong from that game lol
I have to go
Jajajajaja mine is the opposite
Ronnie upgrade paint defence
Ronnie isn't even in this server
Someone PC?
j
Someone wantās to play
I am
Pc
Yo bro no funny fix this game.like bro take out real player percentage make the park smaller, fix the shooting stop making it so whites go in crazy take out sniper matter fact delete just delete sniper for ever like make sure u can never see it again take out all these contest badges for shooting that was stupid like fire that guy who made that.change dribbling stop trying to make it like real life no one asked for that also stop trying to make the game realistic this isnāt real life where I have two legs two arms and I can control them at the same time no this is a console where I have two sticks and and four buttons a left trigger and a right so but the dribbling back to 2k20
Ye
Thatās right
The game is broke they keep trying to adapt the AI over the years. thatās why they took rookie difficulty. If they leave the AI alone everything would smooth out but for some reason they donāt want to do it. Everything is cool the AI just snaps it all in half lolš
I still play it thoā®ļø
Skill based game play would be nice
Wouldnāt have to got against a 99 5ā7 lvl 40 legend
And ur a lvl 30 2 way scoring machine with a 20 percent win rate
Yes and mby matchmaking like you meet peoples at the same lvl
-
RP% needs to stay for people who want to run realistic MyLeague/MyNBA games. Hopefully you mean disabling it online.
-
The solution is more realism, not less. The less realistic the game gets every year, the worse it is. I've been playing Play Now Online lately and it runs so incredibly well. It plays better than any other mode in the game by a long shot. It's oversaturation of badges and juiced stats that kill things.
-
Agreed on Sniper being gone. A lot of badges probably need to be removed. Handles For Days is at the top of my personal hit list.
Handles for days is by far one of the MOST important and most agreed on to be the top playmaking badge needed for iso guard. To have it gone is preposterous, but maybe nerfing it a bit may work cause I do also agree upon the OP use if it with guard sprinting around the court with little to no fatigue
Limitless spot up is kinda useless now due to the fact that players, at least Iām current gen, play you up from full court no matter your build. Maybe adding back in the limitless range badge giving players that edge a little bit when it comes down to knocking down limitless shots might be a good add to the game
It's at the top of my hit list because I very much believe it kills ball movement. I've seen people complain that they're "only able to do ten dribble moves in a possession." I think that needs to be entirely rethought. Be incisive with your dribbling. Make a move or two and then, if you don't have a lane, give the ball up and keep the possession going
When said like that, I have to agree
Yeah, in concept I think it's perfectly fine. Could an NBA player dribble that much in one possession and still have the burst they need? Yes. The question is "are they," and the answer is no.š
Me speaking from a semi comp guard, I donāt do all the āleft rightā movement bs cause itās ruins the game for me, defending it personally is super easy just a little annoying when games run to 21 and im guarding the same dribble animations the Whole game. What Iām most annoyed by is being dribbled through while playing great defense on a high defensive player, Iād say that paint defense and too many whites being made are my biggest complaints. 2k22 current gen so far as proven to be a bust with every passing season making shooting and defense worse
My proof? My proof would be 2 days ago, I was playing on a 2-way slashing playmaker, messing around with 3 other friends on 2s to maybe enjoy the game a little more, which we did. But we had to hit a contested half court and not even 20 shots in, i whited a 73 percent contest beyond the hash with only a 75 three ball and only 10 shooting badges
Agreed with all of that. Early game 2k21 was so close to having it right, the floor percentages on whites were just about 15-20 percent too low compared to league average. Instead of making that small tweak, they went too far the other way to where this year everything falls basically
Paint D is worse on Next Gen, btw š¤£š¤£
Thatās cause every build is good asf on next gen
Even in Play Now Online it's crazy bad š¤£
Just yesterday I had some guy use the Hawks and just crash into me with Capela and even Trae Young. Young was making and one layups with three guys mobbing him lol
I lost by like 17, it was that insane
I pray for 23 to at least have one of MANY problems fixed from 22 wether that be nerfing shooting, dribbling or making paint defense better
Agreed. Of course I'd prefer all three but at least one means they're making strides

Can āChase Down Artistā be nerfed or removed in 2K23? Itās annoying how the defenders can get an unreasonable and unrealistic speed and vertical boost which looks ridiculous. It ridiculous to the point where speed and vertical attribute doesnāt even matter anymore. You can be 7ā2 or 7ā3 with a 60 speed and move like Giannis on the defensive end with this badge (along with Hustler). I believe this is one of the reasons why pretty much majority of the community only use āQuick Drop Off Oneā because Snatch back dunks are easy to block or chase down.
I would also like to add. POGO Stick is nothing more than a bailout badge for bad defensive big man and would love to see it get either a cooldown effect or removed from the game. It makes no sense to be able to jump multiple times and rarely get tired, get put out of position, or a foul call. There is literally no punishment for using it. It one of the reason why the Up And Under is pretty much useless in this game.
Some of yāall canāt just think for urself š
Chase Downs are a super rare occurrence in the NBA anyhow. A slight reduction in the effectiveness of that badge would be welcomed.
Pogo though, I was not supportive of its introduction in the first place, it seems less bad this year? I haven't noticed it making too terribly much of a difference
@dreamy aspen Exactly. In NBA 2K, they make it seem like NBA players get 5 chase down blocks a gameš. Itās unreal especially if this game is suppose to be a basketball simulation. Itās suppose to emulates some form of realism. I can understand the arcade aspect but thatās just unreasonably ridiculous to move that fast on defense.
In my experience, POGO Stick (along with Intimidator) has been the bane of my existence on 2K as a big man. I get sick of being punished for playing with patiences or setting up the defender for the Up and Under but the person I go up against can just spam Y or triangle and get rewarded with a block for being impatient and mistiming their jump. I believe that the badge needs a cooldown for each jump that is attempted or make it to where they get punished with a foul everytime a player falls for a pump fake or just simply being impatient with their jump. I believe it will add a skill gap and not be a bailout badge for bad paint defenders.
That makes a lot of sense. I've basically abandoned the post game since Pogo came out. It definitely felt more effective before the badge came in the gam
3 ?
@dreamy aspen Exactly! The post game has been abysmal since they put POGO and Intimidator in the game. That has been one of my biggest issue with this game. It seems like big men are only good for setting screen and spacing the floor. It unfair how guard can be dominant on the perimeter but bigs canāt be dominant in post. Guards have a better chance at making a fadeaway and step back 3ās than a post fades by the rim with a post scoring big. I just want the game to balance and fun for all position and play styles. I donāt want it to be just a guard-centric three point shooting galore that it is right now.

A definite second to this. Player Control PNO was an interesting idea. I loved bits and pieces of it, like being able to unlock classic players that could be used in each tier, but ultimately I think it's something that could be locked behind ASTU goals rather than behind wins that you can't really control in Player Control (and if you want to control them better, you need to play Team Control, which not everyone wants). Wins can certainly be part of it, but not necessarily the only way to unlock players. Maybe you have certain guys locked behind an assist goal, others behind rebounding, others behind some reasonable scoring goals (so as not to encourage hogging the ball to obtain goals), etc.
does anyone have any good jumpshot animations i could create?

Hi
im new to 2k ans was wondering how to make my shot better and get shooting badges?
Well did you finish the college stuff and combine?
not yet
Finish it first
why
Get drafted to the nba and then grind for vc to help you be able to buy everything for your shooting
how you get vc
By playing nba games
ok thanks
No problem
I want vc
but also practice out of games as well
ya
okay
Go get vc then. What are we supposed to do
It is not fair
I just canāt enjoy 2k online like everyone else
Player Control is a underrated game mode but it can become very redundant and infuriating after going through a couple of tiers along with playing with selfish teammate that can cost us wins. Iāve never liked the idea that people can do everything right on the court and have the best teammate grade but never be compensated for it because their teammate wanted to be selfish and ruin the experience for everyone else.
I like your idea. To unlock certain legends, you have to reach a certain goal which will compensate for players either winning or losing and promote teamwork to get the legends that they desire especially through All Star Team-Up which will give it an incentive to be played. I believe this is one of the reason why they removed it from the game.
It is quite fun. My bigger issue is that just no one queues up for it, at least on Next Gen XBox. But I absolutely agree. It'd be great to be able to work through the tiers in Player Control only, but it's a Herculean task given the amount of things that are out of your control
@dreamy aspen Exactly. Itās so hard to find a game of Player Control on the Xbox. When I would play on the PS4, Iāll find a game within a minute. Now, itās pretty much extinct at this point along with the Play Now game mode which needs a whole revamp. Theyāve used the same tier concept since 2K19 and that should tell people how much they care for that mode. They made more changes to MyGM and MyLEAGUE than Play Now Online.
Yeah, and don't get me wrong, the MyLeague/NBA updates are much appreciated, but yeah PNO has gotten absolutely no love. There's even a weird glitch where in the pregame settings, the opponent basically controls your cursor, so if you're both doing things, the menu will freak out. The mode definitely needs some love
How do you guys feel about Players who use real player in Park?
I donāt really play Park anymore. There really isnāt any incentive to even play the park. Iāve never understood how someone can go on a 10-20 game win streak and itās all in vain. No double XP per win or increase to the amount of V.C per win. Itās just a waste of time to wait for a Got Next spot just to get nothing but a basketball on fire at a 5 game win streakš„±. Iām glad they add the ā3v3 No Squadā to the game. One of the best additions to 2K22 and hope it makes a return in 2K23.
As for real player percentage, I understand the concept of why itās in the game but it does remove the skill gap from online play and needs to be for offline use only.
Agreed on RP%. It's for offline use. That's the point of it, so disabling it online makes a lot of sense

What changes would you people like to see for the āREC Centerā in 2K23?
Since Michael Jordan is on the cover of 2K23, Iām thinking that the REC scenery would look better if it was changed to the Jordan Terminal 23 court.
What do you guys think?
It'd be really cool. Mostly I just want there to be a random lobby and a squad lobby. Squads play squads, randoms play randoms
Why didnāt I think of that? Thatās a great idea for The REC. I swear it has been a hassle to even play REC this year. Every game in the REC felt like Iām playing a scrimmage against a NBA 2K League teamš
I wonder why those squads just wonāt play PRO-AM. What happen to it? Does anyone really play it anymore?
New uniforms would be dope
They should make a Jordan mode where you are only able to play as MJ and you can relive his championships
Hello good afternoon Could someone guide me where in the mobile version is the place to put the promotional codes? I'm not finding
There will be Jordan challenges like there was in 2K11!
Yeah that's what I'm thinking of
@past steppe I like that. The black and white jersey are getting stale. I wish theyāll allow us to wear casual sportswear than wear those repetitive jerseys.
Glad I'm not alone on that 𤣠š¤£
whatās the fastest jumpshot on park?
question, how do I stream my Xbox to my stream labs obs without capture card?
Hi
Yellow
They don't want to risk their record typically. In some cases they claim it's practice or try outs or something. Regardless of what it is, they should have a space to do that that doesn't involve pub stomping randoms
General questions go in #šgood-vibes. Please keep it on topic in here
I'm hype for 23
I hope this year does not fumble the bag
It probably will
Has there been mention of any gameplay tweaks just yet?
I'd be interested to see what they bring. Gameplay wise, just building on what they brought this year would be a great start. 22 is a solid game, but can use some polish and tweaks
No offense but It is kind of stupid to not have started to include this in 2K by now! Cross platform play has been going on since last Gen now with even more massive storage games like shooters (Call of Duty, now MLB the show, etc), what is the excuse for the lack of change regarding 2K and itās ability to allow players to play friends on the different consoles without having to buy a wackstation 5 or if theyāre on a PC? I have a Xbox One and a Series X, I shouldāve been able to cross generation long ago and now should be able to play cross platform! What is the problem?
considering playstation has more sales idk why you would get a X if you already had a 1
Xbox sucks, and they don't want to contaminate PS players with that icky console
He wanna call PlayStation names, we gonna fight š¤
You're so toxic
will 23 on pc be next or current gen
All 3
Will N/A shooting return because forget having to actually time a shot.
š¤š¤
All consoles have one purpose and thatās to play 2k lmao
I mean, the PS is a fine console. I've had both. Enjoyed the PS4 and I enjoy my Series S. Regardless though, I'd be concerned about cross play right now honestly. Even with The Show, it's not perfect. There are random freezes and connection issues. With only two servers covering North America as a whole, I'm just not sure how things would go if cross play were present
Guys in domination if you win one game with on one star and the other on 2 do you still get the 3 stars?
No. You only get three stars if you win the three star game. They do not add up
no
The best of collector level one is so hard does anyone have a method to help
Or a good playbook
I use Pacers, just depends what you're looking for.
Thank you for saying this. I get tired of the 2K community constantly asking for ācross playā but in the next breath say ā2K servers are trashā. There is no point in adding cross play if the servers are more than likely not able to handle it or make the online experience worst for everyone.
2k servers are trash
there's no african server
nor asian server
you're always gonna lag
Harden this week
No, I mean like offensively. What do you like? PNR? Three point plays? A variety?
I agree that the servers can use some improvement. Iāll rather deal with the game lagging than losing connection because of them attempt to put cross play in the game with the servers as they are.
What is the point of having strength attributes?
what's the best way to make vc in current gen I need help :(
They need to make 2K cross platform!
did the invincible dbook code expire?
I'm so ready for 23
Nope
okay good, thank you
Same. I havenāt touched MyTeam since May
I haven't touched that at all this year
no
Please use #š¤lfg-instructions (it is for games also. This is for āGameplayā only).
To max it out in order to pad overall š¤Ŗ
Honestly though that's how it feels sometimes. Feels like a window dressing attribute that doesn't do as much as it should
depends on your position and what your role/build is
that's 2K for you
Overall it's been decent. Started to go downhill at Out Of Position in March for me but decent overall
problem for me is that I'll start spending money again to get certain cards, mainly Kobe
Ah yep. If it gets to that point, best to back away from it
did that way too late š¢
Ok that's what I was thinking, but when I see little point guards with no strength or 25 strength attribute, pushing and stopping guards in their track makes me think like damn wasted time on a build because these attributes do not a thingš«
AI or human played?
It might be because of the clamps badge
Huh. You know I never thought about it before but you may be right on this one. The strength attribute being tied to forced pickup animations does seem to make more sense. But then how do you prevent it from becoming like 18 again, where everyone looks like the turnstile on a New York subway? I felt like Live 18 did this well and organically with their system. You guessed right and you got a natural looking animation that kept you in front of the offensive player. Guess wrong and he's gone.
@velvet valley Human, against A.I. players I can see the difference in strength.
Hello
Idk about that because myplayer has gold clamps but human control players push myplayer around it's frustrating trying to play when it feels like my toon is handicapped.
@dreamy aspen Right that's what I don't get, because when you stay directly in front of the player and you have gold clamps with a 45 strength vs. a 25 or 0 strength you should be able to get more clamp animations and not get pushed around or blown by as easily as it happening. There must be a reason behind it. Can someone from 2k please shed some light on this?
Ah, interesting. I've had more unbalanced experience against AI
Really? That is interesting... for me I noticed the difference between human and A.I. when a player quits or lags out before the match is over it's like night and day everything works as one imagines this wonderful basketball simulator would work.
AI can have weaker stats in everything and still be better somehow
You have to like lock it on I noticed in career or neighborhood
@velvet valley Yes, but mycareer A.I. is meant to be good.
@warped jackal Lock it? What do you mean?
Wait for the right time to left trigger gaurd
Hey so i was wondering if i can help develop 2k24 if thats fine i have had some ideas and i think there good enough for 2k and i think people would love it
That's quite the resumĆ©. Do you have references š¤Ŗ
If only it was that essy
Yeah
Its ok
Thereās always a future
For everybody
A good one
Facts
But not overpowered and unbalanced
@warped jackal I do but I don't see appropriate animations given everything, but only against human control players.
@past steppe lol fr who wouldn't want the work for 2K?
@velvet valley Hmm? If you got game setting on all All pro and above you have to play the game very strategically because of how well A.I. team defense plays.
That's different from AI somehow picking up loose ball despite being slower and further
Things like that could be affected by offensive/defensive iq and hustle attribute/tendencies we don't get control of in myCareer. Just a theory.
Really doubt that
I haven't played my career in a while since I prefer city slam to grind players and haven't made a new build since season 4, but is the AI really that overpowered? I remember playing in superstar difficulty and not being beaten often at all. Maybe the AllPro is that much better? I mean they kind of have to make the AI pretty good to give the best players a challenge, so I get it.
so thereās two things with that, the first is that regardless of how many sources of feedback, why is it so hard to put things on a spreadsheet or google doc and share it with the people spending money on the game and playing it? the second is, whatever the number is for you guys between 65-80%, at what point do you weigh more on the people actually providing feedback? if you make changes based on the vocal minority instead, then that would give that larger crowd that isnāt responding to stuff to start doing that. one of the main reasons people donāt respond to stuff is because they believe nothing will be changed if they were to speak up. i 100% understand itās a business, but as a business it should be more important to put out a quality product than anything else. and itās hard to say that with 2k considering the meta is continuously the same. that majority isnāt responding to surveys and stuff because they donāt mind abusing the system because theyāll never have to change their play style the way it is currently set up and the way itās been set up for awhile
@solid river
@dusk vessel is making me move it to here
I would imagine your second point is why they don't do the first point. With so many data sources, both private and scraped from gameplay data, there's probably not enough incentive to post the mass of data publicly.
Based on what I've seen in the WWE 2K community, posting that information just leads to disappointment as assumptions are made based on incomplete and limited survey results and they think the game must be heading in a particular direction.
thereās incentive itās just negative lol
they want people to spend hundreds of dollars on the next one so they donāt release the data showing how many people are making the same builds for the last 7ish years and never changing
the title of this channel says ātalk about core basketball gameplayā and thatās the opposite of what the game is
If there was one gameplay "rule" you'd change, what would it be and how would it impact the way people play the game?
itās not a singular rule. itās just little stuff that make the game too much arcade and not real basketball. nobody can speed boost in real life. nobody plays 3v3 basketball irl and has two dudes stand in a corner and they just speed boost and shoot a fading 3
hereās a simple thing they could easily add with how big the city is; courts for people less than 90-95 overall. they donāt add that because they would rather people just drop $100 to max out a build and go play with the dudes or play the game all day every day
and before you say boot camp, thatās just an event.
little things that could add to the quality of the game besides forcing me to go watch play shots do things that donāt happen in real life
Sounds like your first rule change would be to remove speed boosting...
That's essentially matchmaking, right? Would you have to twin that with actual skill levels? I assume there are those at 60 who play better than 80+ people out there.
no iām just giving an example. you donāt change the rules of basketball. but the game play does not replicate real basketball. thatās the issue. and then on your second message, no itās different. if iām new to the game or still not high overall, i shouldnāt have to play a team of 99 overall with rep at pro or goat to play online. i mean if theyāre already on the court you canāt see theyāre overall or rep level until you are on the court. thatās ridiculous and wastes people time who donāt play the game 24/7. in most games, skill based matchmaking is annoying, but this game needs it. the game is super cheap right now for people to buy and they literally canāt play the park and win games. there are not 60 overalls who are beating 80+ people unless the 80+ people arenāt trying or trolling
i mean there are actually youtube videos out there that expose the quality of the game. different badges that only have to be on bronze to be just as effective as HOF, or that the HOF badge isnāt a huge upgrade. abusing the build system because you only need certain overalls to get certain animations. thatās simple stuff that iām sure could be changed. but like iāve said to two different mods and devs, itās obvious what is going on. $$ > community
I wasn't talking about changing the rules of basketball. You were claiming that the game is "too much arcade", so I was asking what gameplay rule would you change to make it "less arcade" and more "real basketball".
As for the overall mismatches, I said you seemed to be describing matchmaking and you said it's different, then said it needs matchmaking? I think I missed something.
matchmaking needs to be changed. i thought you meant the way it currently is. the game is cheaper right now so some of my friends got it and we consistently get matched with 99overall players that are high in rep. they donāt want to spend a ton of money on the game so iām the only 99 overall. that kind of difference in them being 80-90 overall and playing every game against at least 96 overalls is ridiculous. why should a new player have to play a max overall and max badges player? they will lose 9/10 times. and what i mean by real basketball is pretty simple. itās too easy to score. iāve played many rec games where one team shoots 75% or higher. thatās ridiculous. defensive badges clearly arenāt as good as finishing or shooting (besides intimidator). thereās no balance and it leans too far to offense to make it real basketball
How much do you know/understand of game development and its process?
No shade, just asking
years of experience in this field
Which area? Just out of curiosity...
but it doesnāt take that to notice things that need to be changed and point them out. itās just ridiculous how hard it is to have anything change. this is the only basketball video game out and if you play online you are forced to play 1-2 ways, and no two basketball games are the same
iāve been a software engineer and IT. now i do stuff in the blockchain
A software engineer in the game development field?
yes
itās all irrelevant. someone with absolutely no knowledge should still be able to voice complaints and hope to see changes
i know iām naive for coming in this thinking something would change, but yāall are even worse if you think the game is anywhere near perfect
Now you're making assumptions... I was curious for curiosity's sake. I'm guessing Doom was asking for other reasons. It's relevant because sometimes there are things that can be discussed or described in a way that you might understand better with your background.
And I do agree that everyone, no matter the knowledge level, should be able to voice complaints. You can also hope to see change, but that will depend on what's good for the majority to enjoy the game.
I think simulation games tend to lower the realism in order to appeal to that majority. For example, that 75% shooting rate is probably because if it was realistic, people would get frustrated to the point they'd stop playing. Potentially the same for speed boosting, if you make it too difficult to make things happen, people tune out.
for every problem, there is a solution. pushing the problem to the side and just adding random things will never fix it. the game had a huge dead spot this cycle. itās going to continue to happen. itās going to drop off a month after it release because they clearly refuse to make quality changes
Go to #š¤lfg-instructions
I'm not 100% sure I agree with there being a solution for every problem. Or rather, a feasible solution. You've mentioned around 4-5 issues you've had with the game but you haven't slowed down enough to begin to discuss even one of the solutions you might have in mind, and I've given you multiple opportunities to do so. I see this elsewhere and I fear that may be contributing to inconclusive or incomplete feedback.
iāve definitely provided feasible solutions. matchmaking is ridiculous, so base the matchmaking off overall and rep level. or they could add courts that have a overall limit for players so lower overall people can play online and not be forced to play maxed out players. and they could easily add rep level for the players on the court when youāre looking at the map. it can show the score and the 2 or 3 players per teams rep color beneath that. then if you talk about matchmaking in Rec, the overall and rep based matchmaking would make that a more enjoyable experience as well. those are little things that could be tweaked that add to the quality of the game and donāt force people to spend $100 to max out a build and then spend time trying to grind badges.
and letās say they for some magical reason did add this in 2k23. the benefits of those things wouldnāt be noticed right away, but when you have new players come in around christmas time when they get the game for the first time it would be perfect. it would also be perfect for whenever next may or june they add it to game pass and ps plus extra

Though not directed at me, I think I have an answer to this question and would like to expound on it:
The one gameplay rule I would change would be directly correlated to shooting. I would make the green window absolute (eliminating shots that are in the window, but not given the reward) and reduce the amount of made shots in the true "slightly late" area to reflect the player's actual shooting percentage on that type of shot (or slightly below to compensate for green releases). "Late" and "early" releases would be further penalized. Ultimately, more realistic shooting percentages would be better for game balance but retaining greens would serve the desire for a skill gap.
This would be second, the elimination of do it all players with perfect badges and perfect sigs. More player variety is sorely needed in MyTeam especially
There's a massive disconnect between gameplay and content on the MyTeam side. Gameplay is solid, but it's not meant to be stretched by so many 99 ratings, HOF badges and broken animations on every card
They also need to stop treating pc as last gen and start using it as next gen

I'm not sure how big the pc player base is that's probably had something to do with the neglect.
Sports games in general have just kinda migrated from PC in general. Even with Madden's return to the platform, it's pretty clear that it's a secondary concern for these companies, since most of their sales come from console. Unfortunate for those who do want to play on PC
Tell me what you guys think of this idea for the legend reward in future installment for 2K.
We all know that the legends reward was lackluster and pretty much a joke this year so I have an idea that I think will be rewarding and will also motivate players to grind.
I believe that Hall Of Fame tier badges should be a part of the legends reward. I donāt like the idea that anyone can create a player and are freely given Hall Of Fame tier badges without some form of effort or hardship of earning it. I think that making it a legend reward will bring a balance to the game and it will be given to people that were willing to put in the effort to get it. Hall Of Fame badges should be rewarded to people that grind the game along with the option of unlimited Gatorade boost or skill boost.
I feel like that kind of ignores the attribute thresholds for badges. In this system would you still have to meet an attribute threshold and not have access to the badge level? Would legend grant access to all hall of fame badges even if you don't put a lot of points in the attribute? Would this include rep/xp gain to legend for those that spend more hours playing mycareer but not mypark, rec, and the other multiplayer modes?
Thatās a good question.
Attribute Threshold- Yes, the highest tier will be Gold (similar to 2K15 and 2K16) and to Hall Of Fame would go to your player specialities. For example if I made a 3-D players. My highest attributes are in shooting and defense so my Hall Of Fame badges will go in those categories.
Hall Of Fame Access- Legends will only be able to access Hall Of Fame based on what their specialities are. I donāt think it would make sense to let legends have Hall Of Fame badges in all categories that would be unreasonable and overpowered. No player in the NBA can do everything on the court so I think that would be a good balance.
XP/Rep Gain- Thatās a good question. Itās debatable to me. Subjectively speaking, I donāt have a problem with players using my MyCAREER as a way to grind to legend especially with how easy it is now but I remember on 2K19 how people were complaining about how the first legend used MyCAREER to get to there. So⦠for the sake of the community, I would understand if they made multiplayer modes only to grind to legend.
This is also how Iām thinking about it. One of the biggest complaints this year (outside of the rewards) was that itās too easy to get to legend or no reason to be a legend. Since itās easy to be a legend this year and 2K isnāt changing the Season format anytime soon, why not make the legend reward Hall Of Fame badges? Youāll have an incentive to grind to legend and make your player the best version of itself and not waste the community time trying grind for a pet bird.
Are suggesting to include specializations in builds? I ask because in next gen it is possible to make builds with gold badges in 3 or 4 categories. Especially with some of the more popular builds skipping certain attributes and using thresholds for animations.
That last sentence... I think every player can do all the things as far as what attributes we have. They just aren't all as good at the things as each other. Then the badges differentiate further (since we have things like moving shots as tendencies instead of attributes now). That's my interpretation of the system. It's not that short guards can't set screens but they might not be as effective as a larger player if the purpose is stop someone in place.
Wow. I forgot about that. I forgot how people can create a build however they want especially with glitched build being a thing in 2K22. Theyāre going to have to revamp the whole build system for my idea to make sense. Thatās a great point.
You said 3 and D and I was thought about my 3 n D Wing. Which is like my end game build. Just enough stats to do the things I'm ok with. Have had it load into rec at PG, SG, SF, and PF. It has at least 1 Hall of Fame badge across in each category.
Another question about this system your thinking through. If you get hall of fame badges through legend do they have cost? Currently you have badge points. Would you have to account for how many badge points you need once at legend to afford the hall of fame upgrade or is it completely free? I think both of these would result in more builds having more badges active if the badge points and thresholds went unchanged.
With the idea that I had, I thought of it being similar to 2K15 and 2K16, where the highest badge tier would be Gold and to earn the Hall Of Fame badges youāll have to be a legend which would consist of having as many as 10 Hall Of Fame badges of a players choosing in two of the five category that a player specialize in especially with all the new badges that they add into the game every year and it would come with no badge point cost while rest of the badges like finishing, playmaking, and rebounding will remain in either Gold, Silver, or Bronze tier and it will also be based on the attribute thresholds(in regards of your 3-D Wing). Now that Iām reading it, I donāt think it would workš .
There are a lot of moving parts to keep track of
@zenith marsh Youāre right. I didnāt fully think it through. I think the concept of the idea made sense but the executions of the idea wouldnāt make sense especially with how the game is now. Those were some good question. I didnāt think about that at all. Appreciate the convo.

why can a PG thatās like 6ā3 or 6ā2 set screens that stop a big man? the PG has 25 strength and it stops the big man with over 70 strength? makes no sense
Brick Wall? It's odd the way certain badges take precedent over ratings
yeah i guess. if thatās an option for guards then thatās dumb. no pg can set a real screen on a 7 footer
Why is freaking taco fall so overpowerd
Because he's tall/they gave him good animations. I'm hopeful they resist the urge to do this for Tacko again next year.
I will never understand why the community clamors for it. It's very much lowest common denominator
Imo that's the biggest gameplay issue on the MyTeam side, that the content given simply stretches the core gameplay too thin. Limiting the number of HoFs given to any one card and reserving animations only for those players who have comparable moves that they're able to do irl are key for the mode next year... But I've been saying that for three years so š š
I wish myteam wasn't so pay-to-win
It really isnāt, itās Time or Money
Which both are EXTREMELY valuable
I gotta ask, what's the best 2k game for playing a real player's career?
And good vibes! Crap, wrong channel
Definitely not the one that had B Fresh
It sucks
To be fair, I do think an in-between (no money spent, but also with minimal time spent) is definitely possible for significant portions of the year. It's not "easy" but it is possible
Not talking about MyCareer actually
Oh! Well you can player lock in MyLeague or MyNBA in any 2k. That's a great way to run through a single player's career that not many people know about
Oh
I know but the progression is tedious in player lock
You can always control it yourself with your own rules
That's what's nice about it I think.
Manually editing attributes or waiting until player progression in the off-season lol
I mean it's not perfect but it's something!
Rosters are newer as well so that's a plus
I'm going to separate your two points as combining them is probably causing details to be lost...
On your matchmaking point, are you talking about the Park, or something like ProAm? How would you have the matchmaking work, on a basic level?
I forgot this post was there... So you would add capped overall courts like weight divisions in boxing?
Also, would it be possible to game the system with overall and rep to get unfair matchups?
On your "too easy to score" point. I wonder if there's a point where people would stop playing because they couldn't hit that 75% rate and it stops being fun because of it? I'm guessing the IRL rate is much lower, but do you get to shoot more shots in-game or IRL?
This might relate to the "too easy to score" point being made. Would I be right in thinking that in the current game, it is believed that a green means you should score no matter what?
Yeah that's the prevailing thought. I don't like it, but am willing to work within it for the sake of the people who desire that as the game's "skill gap"
And just a reminder that we never went into this "remove speedboosting" bit you proposed...
My preference would be an overhaul of the entire system honestly. Start with a baseline floor percentage for what would be known as "slightly" releases right now and make better/worse timing a modifier
For example, if a player shoots 40% on a certain type of shot, that's the floor for "slightly" releases. Releases in what is now known as the green window would be boosted to 65-70%. Those in the late and early windows would be penalized to 15-20%. Most do not want this, however, because it's "more RNG" (which, I'm sorry, but that simply reflects basketball better. You need some RNG imo.)
yes. and to avoid people from gaming the system and letās say they just upgrade to 90 and stay there, just move them based on max overall, so when they get enough attribute points to upgrade to 91 they then canāt play on the 90 or less courts. itās not a crazy idea because it gives newer players a chance no matter what part of the year they start playing the game. it would also give people chances to try new builds before throwing a bag of money at it and then not liking it after all.
what other basketball game would they go play?
this was mainly just the way the game is played online. i see too many 3 man teams that have two dudes stand in a corner and then one dude is abusing the dribble system by cancelling out moves. then when he gets around his guy and drives if someone comes over to help the guys in the corner are wide open. if there is going to be speed boosting then there has to be a counter on defense like a lateral quickness attribute that you could max and that mixed with good perimeter defense is how you get those badges
2k can make any of these changes to make it more realistic and still make billions because theyāre a literal monopoly. there is not another basketball game out
so when people get in here and call the company and devs out for laziness itās pretty warranted when you put that in perspective. there is no competition for them to be worried about and yet they still seem scared to make changes
the guys talking about cheaters on pc got completely blown off. and then they ask about next gen on pc and get a response that not everybody would have specs for it. they can literally just release both versions on pc and put spec requirements on the game description. with no competition stopping them they continue to do nothing year after year
Is that where rep would come into it? Those will less experience with a build at a particular overall would also be matched up more often?
Does it have to be another basketball game they move to? Tapping out because of constant losses is a fail state most games would want to avoid.
This does look interesting, but I'm wondering what others think about it...
Oh It's definitely contrary to popular opinion lol. For some reason, shot timing has become the main skill of differentiation in the community. I don't know why
And taking away the automatic make on green is absolute blasphemy to that crowd š¤£
So would changing the move system help in any way as well? Something to reduce the abuse of the dribble system you mentioned. If the corner strategy is that overpowering, then I agree that some sort of counter-play should be possible.
the rep doesnāt apply to the lesser overall courts. but when i loaded in last night i played against a guy who had literally 5900+ games played and was goat rep and his teammates were too. i should not even be loaded into the same server as him. i have less than 250 games played. the main thing with rep is it needs to be shown when you look at a court so i know if iām wasting time by going to it. if the team on the court is 3 people that are goat or whatever the gold one is i know itās not worth the time when iām playing with friends that arenāt even close to max overall or badges
Can you be too scared to make changes AND too lazy to make changes at the same time?
thatās why itās called skill based matchmaking. they have plenty of numbers to go off of. overall, rep, games played, win percentage, etc
they are definitely one of the two. but with no competition they have no excuse any way you put it
this is all from an outsider perspective, i know that. and i also know that they have shareholders and investments that they have to worry about. they clearly have the business model that works and makes insane amounts of money. and it will continue to work itās just annoying as people in this discord ask for changes as well as people on the subreddit and twitter and tiktok and youtube and the list goes on, for them to not change much
cosmetically, the game has changed every year sure, but the gameplay is so similar year after year that itās almost like thatās on the bottom of the list or priorities
The PC cheating issue is definitely a thing and may be a reason crossplay might not have been a discussion point yet, but I don't know what the best way to request and deal with it is. What would be the process of having people go into the game purely to spot cheaters, for starters? How would the cheating be verified?
i donāt play on pc so i just see stuff on social media so thatās a question for someone who plays on it, but from what iāve seen they make players like 7ā6 and wingspans to the floor and make every shot. thatās just one example, we would need a pc player to expand on it more
I disagree there, they have plenty of financial reasons to weigh up as well and I think that might make them scared to make bold changes. Shareholders, Metacritic scores, sales targets and the like would all have an effect.
It's not just about making the best game anymore, unfortunately. I'd also imagine that there's contradicting feedback from players all the time on particular things too.
yeah i addressed that in the next message
I see it now... The phrase "no excuse" gets to me so I started typing before I saw it.
itās just like anything else in the world, old people making decisions that donāt apply to them. ceo of take two is 65 years old so he has no connection to the game at all. money is the bottom line
The question is, how many of those people then buy the next game? Or what percentage of those people do they make of the whole?
well you can go check reddit and most pc players are saying they wonāt buy the next game because if the next gen clearly doesnāt get enough changes then that last gen version is definitely going to be neglected. they all say theyāre going to mod the version they have to update teams and stuff. but like i said earlier people donāt have a choice. if you want to play a basketball video game, no matter what system you play on, you have to play 2k. so all these people complain but they donāt have any other choice but to get the new 2K. and since it is a yearly release game, around april/may every year is when the game will not change anymore because theyāre focused on the next one. they donāt care about the old game after the next one is deep into development and beginning itās marketing
That loops back to my other question, how much of the playerbase does that cover?
yo
like i keep saying, it doesnāt matter because itās a monopoly and there is not another basketball game to play. 2k corey has already stated that feedback from this discord doesnāt matter. it doesnāt matter if itās on reddit. he said they take a collective of feedback from all sources but for some reason that feedback canāt be shared to the public
and iām not even saying all the feedback they get needs to be shared. but if they love their little surveys so much they could at least share the results they get from it. instead they let that be a resource for people to provide feedback and then donāt change anything. itās all just copium
It may not matter that there is only one major basketball game at the moment either. What percentage of people would play nothing else at all if they weren't playing NBA 2K?
With games being so complicated now, could that be why big changes can't happen so often?
Corey didn't say that feedback from Discord doesn't matter, he said that there are multiple places where feedback is collected from. It would be interesting to show the results of surveys, but that would be implying it's more significant than the other data they're using.
where did Corey say that the feedback doesn't matter?
oh also @small raven, Ronnie's streams prove that 2K does listen, even if rarely. People complained about the animation for sapphire pulls or something, and Ronnie passed that info along and got the animation removed
i use the survey as an example because it would be easiest for people to understand. they have all these sources of feedback and we see none of it. so everything being said is based on speculation. we have no clue if the majority of the community wants changes or not, only they do. by not releasing it thereās nothing to hold them accountable. if majority of the community was asking for change and we could see that through the data then they would be forced to make changes to keep customer happy. with that information being hidden, they can stay put and do whatever they please
iām not talking about my team, thatās a whole other beast. iām strictly talking online myplayer stuff, which if you look in the past the gameplay is very similar to what it is now. they try to do these little changes year over year but they never add up
oh I thought you were talking about the game/company as a hwole
whole*
i probably would be upset with my team but i only played it for a few days this year because thereās too much going on for me. every player in history has a 99 version lol. in terms of that i would like them to take an approach like MLB, where there is barely any 99 cards
but that doesnāt make them as much money
you most likely would be tbh
I imagine that not all customers are part of the community though...
and iāve said before that the part of the community that does speak up and give feedback should be what they listen to. it would encourage that silent crowd to participate. you keep phrasing stuff like people are going to stop playing the game if changes are made.
You've been saying that people will stop playing the game because changes are not being made...
Taking feedback only from the vocal minority can backfire.
I'm not saying changes shouldn't happen either, but with so many people playing the game as it is, they're going to want to protect that base.
i said PC people have been saying that on reddit. if people want to play a basketball game, they have to play 2k. obviously if they want to play something else that will happen regardless, but if they want to play a basketball game there is no other choice. simple as that. they can make whatever changes, and the people that want to play a basketball game will still have to play it
the changes iāve talked about are positive for new players or players returning to the game on a new build. stuff that keeps people playing in a fair and positive way. the way it is now, some kid will get the game on christmas, play for a bit and get smoked on the park because heās not 99 overall max badges and then leave
Agreed. What Diamond Dynasty does so well is create a very lateral power creep. 2k's progression, on the other hand, looks like the first hill on a massive roller coaster š¤£
I've got cards in DD that I've been using since like... May. It's July. That doesn't happen in MyTeam
It leads to tons of viable options for players to use, whereas 2k's progression forces you to change up the team frequently, especially at this point of the year
Completely disagree. Thereās cards from March/April that can still dominate now.
Other than Luka, who??
I mean mainly Luka
But thereās plenty of opals
Even Gold Ty Lue has the animations you need lol
They're good no doubt but there's a clear drop off
Well sure but he's so undersized so as to be by no means viable on the floor
Ofc thereās a drop off, but you donāt need endgame cards to win
Invincibles are free
Even they are too severe a step up from previous cards
Having a week-round mode that makes these cards useful and viable is a must imo
Provided that they continue to change the over-saturation problem that exists with Invincibles/End Game
If you queue into a game in any mode with Ty Lue right now, you're in for a bad time, and that's the issue I'm speaking to
And the only reason Luka is still a viable option is due to animations, and since there are multiple other players/versions of Luka with the same animations, they're essentially the same player anyway, ergo fewer options
End games and invincibles are top tier dm cards but theyāre better cards than that
What do you mean?
Yeah I feel you
Theyāre better cards than end game and invincible
I'm just looking at one of my favorite cards to use, Opal Jaden McDaniels. He's great, but at 25 HOFs, if I were still playing regularly, I'd definitely be switching to Jabari Smith, who has 45, even though I have no affinity for Smith and love McDaniels. On the other hand, in Diamond Dynasty, at any given time, there are multiple cards who are close enough to one another to where you can use whichever ones you prefer/like. The movement is more lateral than vertical, if that makes sense
I'm confused as to what you mean here. In terms of badges, ratings and even cocktail of animations, this is untrue.
My Lance Stephenson Unfazed, my hero Kobe is better than half of invincible and endgames
The highest number of HoFs on an Opal currently is 30. Invincibles base are at 65
And somewhat hero Shaq
I mean, I have great success with Opal Oscar too. That doesn't make it a better card per se. All things being equal, you meet an absolutely equal player to you with Invincibles and End Games, they'll have the advantage because of badging and stats, not you.
And that's the point I'm making here
It's not lateral enough so as to not give an advantage, all other things being equal
Trust me I got a team Thats equal to take end games and inv
Have you added badges?
Okay, so again, on paper this is not true. It may be working out in practice because you're mostly getting games against players who are inferior enough to you to make the difference. That makes sense.
That's exactly what I'm saying. If all things are equal user to user, you're at a disadvantage naturally
You can have a all end game and inv and spent a lot money and be crap with the op team
Right, that's a different issue than what I'm speaking to
I'm simply saying that when all other things are equal, the jump from regular DMs to INV to EG is so steep so as to tilt the playing field

But seriously, aiming on Next Gen was absolutely perfect. Nothing needed to be done with it. It needed to either be removed or further de-zenned on Current, but on Next, not only was it fine, but it was intuitive and really replicated shooting a basketball better than timing ever has imo
To be fair, the issue was people who were using it unfairly. The issue is that that unfair usage wasn't actually present on Next Gen. A lot of people who played me thought it was though š¤£š¤£

Hello, I'm new here. Actually sent here from 2K22 support. Is there anyone on now to help me with a online issue?

It depends on the issue. Most of us are mere users, just like you, rather than those well versed in the actual inner workings of the servers and such
Yeah, what kind of issues are you having? I'm just a guy that plays the game so maybe I've seen it... But probably don't know how to fix it. It seems 2k support should be the place for that, but they sent you here? Lol
