As of now, information on subnautica 2 will be relegated to this page.

#

There will not be independent pages for other subnautica 2 content for now.

#

Once the game is released, it will be a different matter. But ATM everything is relegated to the information we receive from developers and official press statements.

limber parrot
#

Will that page end up being abandoned down the line

#

I mean in favor of whatever yall choose

#

I'm not sure if I'm having a mandela effect, but did there used to exist an image of the sea emperor from the subnautica teaser trailer on the wiki, but featuring a different model of the sea emperor? I swear I remember seeing this on the wiki back in like 2016, it was the same frame as the end of the teaser trailer but the model was different, the head was more spherical

#

it was a variation of this but with a different model

remote leaf
#

I don't recall the wiki having a different model of the Sea Emperor in the same shot as the trailer

#

There is an early concept art of the Sea Emperor on the wiki where it has claws for hands though

limber parrot
#

I'll always find it funny how they showed it off as some huge sea monster and never had any intention to make it hostile

#

So, we have SN for Subnautica, BZ for Subnautiuca: Below Zero, are we doing SN2 or S2 for Subnautica 2?

sharp oak
#

SN2 seems to be the most used term

manic field
#

Alrighty, that's what I was thinking.

#

Wasn't sure if we wanted something shorter since SN2 is three characters and not two like the ones the first two games have.

heady gulch
#

we could call it S2

but that just sounds odd

on the Paul Torgal page it says this scene from the trailer features Paul Torgal. Is this true? I always assumed this was Bart

Just started a new game and went looking at the center'ish vents to use as a power source. Noticed that the map genie shows 3 vents in the safe shallows while the wiki lists only one. After having spent a good amount of time looking through the caves, I can only identify two locations. Checked the wiki a bit more and discovered that the actual biome page for the shallows shows the 2 I found, but the listing under the crater maps page only has one for the shallows.

#

Pauls recordings talk about one of those breaking the bases hull in his last log

#

while barts last one is back on the island where he seemingly died alone after some time

#

in the last recording of the degasi itself you can actually hear that bart barely missed the crabsquid attack

#

and managed to get out alive and to the surface wich means he swam up 500 meters and avoided the ghost

limber parrot

It's hard to say if the creature placement would've been the same back then

Fandom can't "sue" anyone for forking or moving wikis away, as the person who replied to you stated the wiki uses an open license that allows for remix, destribution and etc of the work, it only needs to be properly attributed.

#

Unless the license is something like All Rights Reserved.

sharp oak
manic field
#

Fandom, Miraheze, Wiki.gg, ShoutWiki, Telepedia and more wiki farm hosts all use roughly the same open free CC licenses, a combination of CC-BY-SA, CC-BY-NC-SA, CC-BY-NC etc. etc. You can see the differences of each on the creative commons website. But basically, any company can word their Terms of Use/Service however they want, but they can't sue people if the content they are hosting is being released under a freely usable and shareable license, you just can't modify the license after moving it from someplace, like Fandom per instance. So if it was CC-BY-NC-SA, you can't monitise any of the content you use.

limber parrot
#

Does that mean this Fandom can be monetized?

manic field
#

They could because we use CC-BY-SA 3.0, but that's if anyone decided to use or modify the content from the Fandom Wiki and have it elsewhere.

main reason was they just finished developing natural selection 2, which was a shooter, and wanted to develop a non-shooter game

sharp oak
# hallow blade I think brawling with fish would be funny

Anthony expressed they are thinking of ways to make it so players stop killing fish. Why think when you can just stab a leviathan or punch a shark? They played around with them being unkillable, and instead offering more tools for players to think before acting. As long as you can kill something, no matter how inconvenient or long, players will always choose that over improving. Even if there's no reward. SN and BZ prove that.

limber parrot
#

cursive vigil
sharp oak
#

It's not generic

#

The company is not evil, just morally questionable

limber parrot
#

I wouldn't call it generic

sharp oak
#

In SN, it is super generic, sure

#

But BZ paints it in a different way

#

Seeing the characters talk to their families about their work, it's really touching

cursive vigil
#

I really need to replay below zero at some point I've forgotten 90% of that game's story

sharp oak
#

But it's all lore, not a campaign or anything

#

Everything already happened, or is happening in the background

limber parrot
#

Isn't that how alterra stories always work

#

Really the only way they can work

sharp oak
#

Old BZ story was pretty good

#

It's just that games about being alone don't tend to have much contact with other people

limber parrot
#

It'd feel a bit weird if it happened any other way

cursive vigil
#

maybe they'll make some spinoff project to explore Alterra

sharp oak
#

I think the problem is more the community not wanting to read

#

The info is there, but the Subnautica community is strangely anti-reading

cursive vigil
#

I'm a part of the problem

limber parrot
#

It isn't the subnautica community specifically

cursive vigil
#

I don't like to read much when I'm playing a game

limber parrot
#

Text dumps just get ignored in games alot

cursive vigil
#

give me a Subnautica novel though and I'll read the hell out of that

sharp oak
#

I think text dumps are still pretty good

#

Those who are interested can read the stories, and those who don't want to read, watch YouTubers narrating those stories. Win for everyone.

#

I mean, it worked out for Necrit

cursive vigil
#

I searched them up and saw Arcane and immediately backed away

#

somehow I still haven't had season 2 spoiled for me yet

sharp oak
#

Yea sorry

#

But outside of Arcane, his videos are just reading the stories, connecting them with the others, explaining every tiny detail

#

It's not a lot of work, other than the fact they're super long, but I think it's a nice approach

#

I read the stories and then watch him for any details I've missed

limber parrot
sharp oak
#

What do you mean?

#

I don't think Subnautica has that many mediums to share the lore

limber parrot
#

They can spread misinformation without intending to

sharp oak

Oh, if that's the case then stop watching that YouTuber

#

#

Loving to correct people doesn't mean you're right as it were

hallow blade
# limber parrot They can spread misinformation without intending to

Yeah. Communities either dont like reading lore, they read but dont understand so they babble and spread the wrong info, or they read it, cant understand bc its poorly worded/written so they create crazy conspiracy theories that start controversy in the community. So if youre gonna make them read, make sure they want to or at least the vast majority will read and make sure it is executed well

sharp oak

Ohh

sharp oak
# cursive vigil I don't really get your point? I don't see why a person couldn't dislike the old...

Old BZ was story-first, people didn't like that. And then in the new one, said players focus on the gameplay and not story, which leads to it being skipped. If someone was more worried about leaving the planet than the fate of her sister, that does mean something. It's likely that the players want to learn about the story without having to be invested in it. Without having to go out of their way to learn more. In SN, you can't really ignore the story, because you're required to go to the LZ to turn off the QEP, and you're required to turn off the QEP to launch. They're connected enough that it doesn't matter much, but Sam and Al-An are completely distinct, and finishing one will not lead you to the end of the other. The game is designed in a way that the gameplay leads you to Al-An, and if you want to learn about Sam, you need to be really interested. Because the medium they use for Sam's whole plot is PDA entries, something that only the most invested players care to read.

hallow blade

chrome locust
#

when does Subnautica play (only the part the player experiences) and if you know where do you got your info from

#

nvm i got it myself thanks anyways

#

so i have a question: if the outbreak and quarantine happened around 1000 years before we arrive (alien data originates from 10.000 - 1000 years before SN and the Fauna Reproductive Data says the outbreak/mass extinction happened 1000 years before we arrive) and the blade from the alien facility is dated to be from the 13th century (supported by blood samples on the blade) and Subnautica happens in the 22 century then there must be a small mistake because the outbreak and quarantine thereby happened 12th century while the blade is from the 13 th century

sharp oak
#

And SN is two years before BZ.

chrome locust
#

Something about my former comment: I’ve been thinking about the timeline in Subnautica (SN) and its connection to the Precursors. Specifically, my theories were:
The Precursors returned to the planet at some point, Subnautica actually takes place earlier than stated, based on the age of a sword found in the game, or the planet quarantine happened later than the PDA suggests.
Let’s break it down:
Subnautica is stated to take place in the late 22nd century.
According to the PDA, the quarantine/destruction of the Precursor research facility happened 1,000 years prior, which would place it in the late 12th century.
However, there’s a blade in the game that is dated to the 13th century, which raises a question: the planet should have already been under lockdown by that point, preventing the blade’s presence.
For research, I asked ChatGPT to give me examples of swords from the 13th century that match the in-game blade. One result stood out: the Mongolian Dao, which has nearly all the same features as the blade found in SN (curved shape, ornaments, a leather-wrapped handle, and even the cute animal head on the hilt).

#

This connection makes sense for several reasons:

  1. The Precursors were active in Eastern Europe and Asia (evidenced by the yin-yang statue and other cultural references).
  2. Many elements in Subnautica are already linked to Mongolia (e.g., the Mongolian megacorporation Torgaljin).
  3. Historically, the Mongolian Dao was in use as from the 7th century, meaning that the Precursors could have brought the blade to the Planet from the 7th century through the 13th century, but they must have left the planet around the 13th century, as that’s when the blade is dated according to the PDA.
However, this raises additional questions about the PDA’s itself:
  4. If the PDA measured the blade’s age itself (by for example carbon dating or similar), it implies that my former theories are still not proven wrong.
  5. But if the PDA relies on pre-existing data the PDA would straight up lie to the player as it says that it lost its data due to the crash.
Fazit: I was right about my former mentioned 3 theories or I was wrong about those theories but the PDA is lying to the player.
#

correct me please if i did a mistake

tame idol
#

I feel like the PDA is probobly lying to the player because its goal throughout the game is to keep you alive, and going to indepth on stuff like that could distract the player and end up getting them killed. bit far fetched, but its the best ive got

#

perhaps the sword came down from orbit from a ship that was shot down carrying it

#

theres a lot of possibilities my dude. maybe the Degasi was carying some artifacts on it for some reason and that was one of them and it fell into the sea during the crash.

#

TLDR: the sword itself may be from the year 1300, but which year 1300 it is, and when it got to 4546b mean it could possibly still make sense

remote leaf
#

The sword is in a precursor base. It was stored there by them.

I think the more likely option is it is simply a small plot hole. As someone who has been active on the wiki for sometime. You will be surprised how many tiny things like this exist.

Anyway. This chat is for the wiki. Not theories/plotholes

tame idol
#

we know the PDA"s data got deleted, and for carbon dating it would need a physical sample to analyze. im betting its using a less reliable method of dating thaat messed up its estimate.

Can you even fathom how many different kinds of blades there where at the time on the whole earth (and yes the Precursers can be on the whole earth cause they are alien capable of space travel) and you seriously expect me to search up every single kind of blade during the time on the whole earth and then look at what kind of blade would fit lore wise, like Hell no i wouldnt and anyone else in here didnt care as well bc thats how you are supposed to use AI. Im not gonna search for every blade on earth at the time on my own im gonna give AI a picture of the blade alongsite a request to look up what kind of blade is similar to the given picture during the 13th century on earth and then im gonna compare those results my self. You act like AI = Bad is such a bad take you better never cook again

# sinful onyx I could not find any mention of the degasi or it's crew

Over 10 years ago, the chief and vice chief of Torgal Corp, alongside Marguerit Maida, embarked on a mission to their new deep space station. On their journey, they attempted to land on planet 4546B (referenced in Paul Torgal's Log #2 - Dilemma). However, they were shot down. This incident occurred approximately 10 years prior to the events of Subnautica. Considering the 13-month travel time (Alterra Auxiliary Mission Orders) and the preparation and planning time for Alterra’s main and secondary missions, the Degasi was declared lost around five years later.

Thirteen months after the Degasi's disappearance, the Aurora was dispatched, partly tasked with searching for the Degasi. The Aurora, equipped with different scanners, attempted a similar landing maneuver near 4546B but was also shot down.

chrome locust
# sinful onyx I could not find any mention of the degasi or it's crew

The Degasi crew initially landed near the Floating Island and constructed habitats there. However, a storm and falling debris destroyed their habitat and grow beds, forcing them to relocate to the Jellyshroom Caves to gather more resources.

During their time there, Paul Torgal's son, Bart, noticed that they were ill and discovered the bacterium was "altering their genetics" (Degasi Voice Log #7 - Malady), similar to the bacterium seen in Natural Selection. Bart attempted to research the infection but lacked sufficient data.

Eventually, the crew went even deeper into the planet’s caves. Conflicts arose among the survivors, and their new habitat was destroyed by a Leviathan attack. Paul Torgal suffocated, Marguerit Maida survived by killing a Reaper Leviathan, and she used its corpse for survival. She rode the Reaper’s remains to the location later known as the Below Zero island, where she lived by eating and surviving within the Reaper's body.

This suggests that Maida likely came into contact with the Leviathan’s stomach enzymes, which are essentially Enzyme 42. This could explain how she was healed from the Kharaa infection.

sinful onyx
#

I think that's all in databank though

#

Yeah

#

That's not even a quote

chrome locust
#

it was 2 am when i wrote most of what i wrote yesterday its not an exact quote but its mentioned the last part of Maida is just a theory in combination with what i knew about reapers/ the peepers at the time (the pda said that the enzyme the peeper has inside its stomach is basically enzyme 42 it gathered from the emperor and that said enzyme has similarities with the stomach enzyme of "larger predetors" which i presumed to be leviathans like the reaper)

Hello i have another question: In the wiki, it says that Torgal Corp's shares reached an all-time high when they announced they would build phasegates to the ARIADNE ARM, and even Alterra was threatened by Torgal's operation to build phasegates to that region ("Alterra Corp. currently operates 9% of all phasegates in the galaxy. If the Aurora's mission is successful, Alterra will have outmanoeuvered a cabal of Mongolian corporations") (Alterra Launches the Aurora).
It's also said that Alterra's Aurora has to go through nine different trans-gov authorities, meaning the Ariadne Arm should be pretty far away from Alterra's trans-gov sectors. Yet, they still try to build phasegates in the Ariadne Arm only because Torgal built gates there. This must mean the ARIADNE ARM is pretty important in some way, but I didn’t read what’s so important about that region. Does someone know anything about that?

I think there is a huge mistake made in the wiki. The wiki states that Subnautica takes place in the late 22nd century, even though the only source of this is cut content. There is nothing official that states Subnautica takes place in the late 22nd century. It was only officially stated in the scrapped Subnautica: Below Zero intro, and in the "hoverball rules" PDA, which both are not part of any game anymore. There are also some other instances where it was mentioned, but as I said, it was never officially stated, only in cut content. The only thing I have found that somehow connects Subnautica to the 22nd century and isn't cut content is the "Trans-Gov Profile: Alterra Corp," which says that Alterra was founded in the mid-22nd century. What I have found, however, is an answer from Obraxis to the same question, though this answer is already 9 years old.

limber parrot

We know the game takes place sometime after alterras founding and seemingly a not insignificant amount of time considering how big alterra has become, late 22nd century doesn't seem far fetched

chrome locust
# limber parrot We know the game takes place sometime after alterras founding and seemingly a no...

Alterra was founded around the 2150s, and Subnautica takes place, according to the wiki, in the 2190s/2200s. So, you mean to tell me that the growth of Alterra into a corporation and Trans-Gov that could stop the Great Expansion with threats to stop selling technology, the Great Expansion itself, the end of the Great Expansion, the creation of the TSF, and the creation, growth, and expansion of the Mongolian Trans-Gov into the Ariadne Arm would all fit into 40-50 years? I mean, Subnautica is a sci-fi world, but that still seems a bit far-fetched. I would place it into the mid-23rd century, as that would even align with the existence of the 13th century sword in the Precursor base, while the PDA identifies the outbreak as 1000 years ago.

limber parrot
#

The precursors have been around longer than humans, pretty sure they didn't just go to a museum and steal that sword

#

As for the fast growth, its a game not everything is going to make sense, and most definitely not everything does make sense

chrome locust
# limber parrot The precursors have been around longer than humans, pretty sure they didn't just...

Yeah, that's the point I'm making. The existence of the Earth Blade on 4546B makes it impossible for Subnautica to take place in the late 22nd century because:
The blade is described as "dating back to the 13th century," and since we obtain this information by scanning it, the dating must be relatively accurate.
The entry also states, "Blood samples on the blade match the DNA of seven separate heads of state from the period," further confirming the accuracy of the sword's dating.
However, the outbreak of Kharaa on 4546B (unlike the century in which Subnautica is set) is repeatedly stated to have occurred 1,000 years ago, placing it in the late 12th century if we assume SN1 takes place in the late 22nd century. This means the blade, which was dated to the 13th century (a fact even supported by the blood samples from leaders of that period), could only have been brought to the planet after the lockdown—an idea that makes even less sense.
This is why I would place Subnautica in the mid-23rd century instead which is just as much a subjective opinion as dating SN in the late 22nd century as both have no official/cannon evidence supporting it and for me personally the 23rd century makes more sense. It aligns better with the timeline of the blade and makes more sense progression-wise.
Last but not least—and this might sound a bit far-fetched—but it feels like Unknown Worlds deliberately cuts anything that could definitively place the game in the 22nd century.

The Aurora didn't lose contact 18 months post-launch, but 13 months because that's when it was supposed to perform the slingshot maneuver around 4546B to get near the Degasi, the same maneuver which led to the aurora being shot down. "Mission Details:

  • Aurora is due to perform a slingshot maneuver around 4546B (category 3 ocean planet) approximately 13 months post-launch
  • This will bring the ship within range of the Degasi's last known position

That's a great question for #below-zero-chat, but since we're here... They're a species hyper-focused on evolution, and techno & biological improvement. This led them to lose most of their individuality, as Al-An mentions they don't have personal goals, and instead operate like strings on a musical instrument. Working together for the same goal. They created vessels from dozens of other species and tech to make the most out of their lifespan. Seems they're too busy on researching and documenting every single bit of information to be hostile towards other civilizations (though they do have the technology to overpower any that gets in their way). I hope this helps.

The point is, after doing some digging myself, I found out when the game actually takes place. I must say the wiki is right about the mid-23rd century, though unlike the wiki, I can actually prove it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/subnautica/comments/1ife9a4/i_am_better_then_the_subnautica_wiki_and_found/ (the post where I wrote about it on Reddit).

When I put into perspective the growth of the alterra company, I don’t think they did it in under 50 years

#

However,

it doesn’t say it’s in the 23rd century

The wiki doesn’t say the game takes place in the 23rd century. The number 23 doesn’t even appear on the timeline page period. The wiki doesn’t make any claims in its up to date articles that the game is the 23rd century. If you find any pages that claim this. Please send them to me, because those would need to be fixed

The timeline page says it takes place After the Mid 22nd Century since the alterra log in the pda cites that.

Thermal Plants had the problem of when picked up, they'd be affected by gravity, which means they'd fall off ledges, and if you went too far away they'd clip through the ground. You had to quit and reload the save for it to be stuck in place

heady gulch

#

I believe our cut content page even has a scrapped line referring to the events of NS. So during early development the two would take place around the same time.

heady gulch

im not surprised. the 23rd century mentions are all cut.

chrome locust
#

Also the Timeline mentions the Architect period but not the two unconfirmed times they were theorized to be on earth (yin yang symbol in SN1 and the mention of the centaur like body of the architect having a resemblance to the centaur in human mythology) and the one time they had to be on earth that being from 1205 to at least 1279.

heady gulch
heady gulch
#

You’d need to re-crunch some of those numbers

#

Because mid-22nd century (if taken literally) means alterra didn’t exist until 2250, and it’s unreasonable to believe they went from a small defense contractor -> helping end the expansion conflict n sign the charter -> becoming TSF’s official supplier + transgov owning 9% of all phase gates in operation

#

Unless you think this could have all reasonably happened within the span of 7 years. So your calculations need tweaking either way

#

Reasons such as this is why we only stick to what the game tells us for the wiki timeline.

#

And atm the only concrete time reference we have is that the game takes place after the mid 22nd century. Because it’s impossible to take place before that time point

#

The game could take place 20 years after, or even 100+ years after for all we know.

#

I don’t believe the developers intend to set a concrete timeframe at this time, or they would have probably left in the cut dialogue mentioning the 23rd century.

#

This way they aren’t restricted in deciding when or where current n future installments take place, for anything related to the connected universe

#

The only gripe I think I’d have is the lack of information or fleshed out details on alterra,

cinder kestrel
#

mid-22nd century (if taken literally) means alterra didn’t exist until 2250

special as we know communications can take months thru space

#

lost contact after 18 months (know that from BZ)

chrome locust
# heady gulch Because mid-22nd century (if taken literally) means alterra didn’t exist until 2...

Mid 22 century means 2150 (if there isn’t a language barrier I don’t understand, since English isn’t my main language) and mid 23 century means 2250 its a timespan of 100 years and that seems rather realistic but as I said „it’s probably during the times I’ve mentioned“ since we don’t know how long the blade stayed on 4546b till Kharaa broke out on the planet. What we can 100% confirm is that the game plays at least after the 23 century, since the sword is from the 13th century (source earthblade PDA entry) and there by the game that takes place 1000 years after the architects must at least take place after the 23 century. Both the 1000 years and the 13th century is confirmed by the PDA.

If you're asking about @willow vector and how to verify yourself: you use neither. You use your wiki username. On the wiki, however, you'd have to specify your Discord username (similar to how you've added your Reddit account to your Discord profile).

I try to avoid touching the map in general. because of that, I'm not the best to make judgement on which is the "better map image" to use. Since I'm not reliant on it, I don't know what users find as the more "efficient" versoin.

#

Hm, strange

#

I'm not very knowledgeable of the formatting

#

@heady gulch probably is though

heady gulch
#

Formatting isnt my forte

I learned everything by looking at the template implementation on another page, and then copying + modifying it over to a new page.

#

If a template works on one page, its gonna work on another if you tweak it to go along with the page contents

stark jolt
#

yay i figured it out

sharp oak
#

@stark jolt If the engine is off, it's invisible. Standing still or using Rig for Silent Running don't do the same. Not sure how you edited the page but just letting you know.

onyx river
#

From what I understand {{Recipe2}} is a template that takes the name of the page in and spits out the correct recipe, using the {{Recipe}} template to generate the recipes. If you want to change the recipe in {{Recipe2}} you have to go to Template:Recipe2 and edit it in source mode. Then find the recipe for that item and change it there.

#

Sourced this from the Trello Archives

#

Unfortunately we dont have a good high quality image of the logo, which sucks cuz its cool to see an earlier version of the logo, but oh well.

#

Either way, felt as though it should be put somewhere on the wiki since it is pretty interesting, at least to me

gilded onyx
#

Also, thought I'd post this here. Obviously a while back the Subnautica Done Trello board got completely obliterated. I created an archive of the trello a little bit beforehand, though I dont think I ever shared it. Sooooo...

#

Complete archive of said board. Obviously some stuff is missing, most notably the comments and activity on most posts are completely gone due to how Trello copies boards, but its at least something.

#

It also features the archived/hidden boards, which contained a lot of material which was previously not known about or was made "unavailable", this is where some of the recent concept art I added to the wiki came from.

#

Feel free to use it for sourcing if you wish.

stark jolt

Ah, neat

cinder kestrel

I moved two articles and recreated a disambiguation page to fix what @stark jolt did. You see, every article has a history to it (which you can access from the upper-right corner of the article) which documents every contribution ever made to the article. We legally (and ethically, I suppose) cannot remove that history while also keeping the article. So, the correct way to change the names of articles is not to recreate the article at the new name, but to use the built-in Move feature.

#

That being said, if I recall correctly, we made it so that only admins can move articles on the Subnautica Wiki. So, I guess you just have to ask us next time instead of moving it yourself.

Power is drawn from the oldest generator first, regardless of the type of generator. Each generator will work to fill its own internal storage capacity and will not fill the capacity of other generators.

#

It is only valid until reload. Then the order batteries are drained, is arbitrary.

#

Before reload the nuclear reactor is drained. After reload the bioreactor is.

sharp oak
#

@stark jolt it's your call

stark jolt
#

cuz in BZ i had a nuclear reactor and some thermal plants, and the reactor was being drained before the thermal plants

#

but earlier in that base, my solar panels drained before my bioreactor

#

which probably means the order is solar panels, bioreactor, nuclear, and thermal.

#

i will edit it, but i just want to make sure of what all i'm adding

sharp oak
#

The first built drains first. But when you reload, it's seemingly randomized.

#

Sometimes it's one, other times it's the other.

stark jolt
#

it seems the bioreactor drains before the nuclear

#

but will it always be randomized every time you load? cuz with my solar panels and bioreactor, and my thermal plants and nuclear reactor, power was always drained in the same order no matter how many times i reloaded the game

#

what i should and am going to do is build a Multipurpose Room with four water filtration, plus a nuclear and bioreactor, a solar panel, and a thermal plant, and load and reload a couple times to see what draws first and see if it's always the same

stark jolt
#

it does appear to be random. i did some tests, and i could find no discernable pattern

turbid ermine
#

Yes it's completely random.

#

Even between power sources. You could have solar, bioreactor, another solar, etc.

stark jolt
#

wait...i don't believe it's completely random...i think power is drawn from sources in the order they are loaded in...that would explain why sometimes (in my tests) my solar panels would be used before my nuclear reactor. and why my nuclear reactor is always used before my thermal plants

turbid ermine
#

It isn't in the order they are serialized, that makes it random. Also power transmitters place things at the bottom as it takes more time to connect.

stark jolt
#

the guidelines for posting pictures on the wiki say that photoshopped pictures are rarely useful and should be avoided, as well as pictures should be taken without the hud (unless the hud is the focus of the pic) and at as high of a quality as possible. since i'm on console, i can't just press F6 and remove the hud, so i would have to crop the hud out. however, being on console allows me to take lots of quite high quality photos. so i was wondering. am i allowed to put a cropped picture or video on an article as long as it meets the standards for quality, ratio, and size?

the degasi crashed 11.5 years before the game

#

the 10 years was the diffrence between them crashing and the Aurora Launching

#

the 1.5 years or 18 months is the time it took the Aurora to reach 4546b

#

because an article in BZ tells us that Alterra lost contact about 18 months acter launch (+ - the time for the radio signal)

#

specificly

#

well roughly 1.5 years

the slingshot is planned 13 months after launch

18 months after was when it was known the contact was lost

#

so 5 months prob to account for the signal distance

#

in short (reclaculated)

10 years prior: Degasi declared lost

Year O: Aurora Launches

1,08333 years (13 months) after Year 0: Game Starts, Aurora shot down during slingshot

  • T-6mins: Captain sends distress Call
  • T+2mins: Lifepod 2 Voicelog
  • T+8hrs: one survivor detected
  • T+8hrs: Rocket Plans received from Alterra HQ
  • T+8hrs: Long-range com relay offline
  • T+13hrs: Aurora's Monitoring equipment failed

1.5 years (18 months) after Year 0: Aurora Declared without contact publicly (missing more than one routine check in)

#

by the time they declared it they knew the ship was prob lost for good id say

#

but it was likly before the player returned in the rocket

jade solstice
#

thats also means that Ryley took about 5 months to get home in the rocket

#

at least

#

prob more considering alterra doesnt tell that theres a survivor

#

we know the aurora launched 18 months before they were confirmed losts

#

and given the 2 years between the 2 games

#

given that it tskes 13 months to reach the planet

#

ryley was on the way home while alterra confirmed the loss and aurora immiediatly launched the crew from BZ

#

tho with phase gates he was prob back earlier but atleast 5 months after the crashs till considering teh alterra news

sharp oak
jade solstice
#

well we know he wasnt back 5 months after at a minimum because of news articles

#

and at most 12 to 13 because the BZ crew would take about a year to reach the planet just like the Aurora

#

because alterra diddnt have any ion technology

or more like, the stuff in the rocket wouldnt rly be enough to fit the ships theyd send
