I think you need a computer chip, the hardest part is finding the recipe. I found one in a kelp forest wreck, though the kelp forests are far too large for this to specifically help.

A simple trick to find the tropical island is going on top of the lifepod and looking at the Aurora. Then, turn around 90° to the right and try swimming straight towards a unique cloud formation. At the island, going straight down will lead to the Grand Reef. Instead you'll want to look a bit more towards your lifepod for a "crack" in the floor, which goes down very deep. That will be the Blood kelp Trench.

I would like to attempt to speedrun the game for the very first time, though I've never used speedrun.com. I'm not too bright, and don't understand the rules fully, but I think I've got it. You can outrun it; I outran it on my first encounter with a seaglide, so you should be good. Otherwise, juke it out; It turns moderately slow.

there should be little pathways down to the water on the side of the island facing you. alternatively, swim underneath the island, it has a hole in it that leads right to the beacon (don't go too far down though, exercise caution when near the grand reef)

Replaying BZ made me realise. Subnautica 1 should really get a 'remaster'. The personal notes that Robin makes when you do stuff, the icons of people in the top left, rooms feel more lived in and decorations feel better placed. The life in BZ seems way more polished so itd be nice to see that on 1

first you need BepInEx, if you search "BepInEx for subnautica" the page will come up with instructions on how to install BepInEx and how to use BepInEx to install mods
i have quite a few quality of life mods like cyclops docking base component, moonpool repairs vehicles, more upgrade slots, more hotbar slots, etc
for flora and fauna you can try de-extinction perhaps
the folks at the subnautica modding discord server will give more detailed help if you need it

7. Try to beat hardcore if you haven't already
8. Look for every time capsule
9. Kill every Reaper
10. Try to beat the game with a mod like Return of the Ancients or Bloop and Blaza (boring examples, ik)
11. Make a YouTube series!
12. Try Nitrox (multiplayer subnautica 1)
13. Attempt to kill a ghost in the void!
14. Ragebait a Reaper lol
15. Expand your base MASSIVELY to make it genuinely AURA

If your Seamoth is at full health, it should let you go without the Seamoth being completely destroyed. If you have it, try the torpedo or perimeter defense system. Otherwise, get out, stasis it, and run, but that's the riskiest.

Those are the reasons bz is so hated though. Glad they left that stuff out of subnautica 2.
I do agree a subnautica 1 remaster would be awesome though.
High res textures, better lods, a higher quality shadows and reflections, tons more decorations, and the subnautica 2 building system would all be great. Could also add some new super deep biomes around the edges to make the map bigger (maybe with some new wrecks to explore that have the new decorations and buildables.)

If you're really, really concerned, you could go to task manager, taskbar, or Steam and close Subnautica. There's a really good chance it'll just set you back to the last time you clicked "Save & Quit", but if that was a while ago, then you may lose a moderate amount of progress. However, I'm only like 92% sure this works all the time.

Similar to the saves they are likely saved on the cloud, so it’s unlikely you can delete them by deleting the game folder, you may be able to wipe them using the subnautica console (idk) or in google arcade (I think that’s what it’s called)
