I wasn't talking about players doing those extreme things. I never did that and had no interest in it and also don't think leviathan class things should be able to be killed. S1 literally had an upgrade for your knife so you could stab and cook fish in one go. Maybe me saying core was a little overstating it but it was absolutely a prevalent and noticable part of the game, being able to fight off the annoying smaller creatures.

• I've 'fixed' the alien power plant (though it doesn't seem to start).
• The tall alien tower with the console to start it at the button doesn't do anything when I press the button
• The infected bloom nearby has lots of hints about 'needing a tool that shatters' so I can kill the blooms before they get to shut their armor.
• Near the metal refinery I could have sworn I saw I scanned something that looked like a green gun - possibly the alien tool I need to shoot the blooms? But I only found one fragment and I don't see it listed in my blueprints.
• I think I've explored up to the red wall at the edge of current space?||

I still haven't seen anyone else make specific suggestions for handling fish aggression that aren't killing them, so, here's my take:
|| 1. Flares should have a wider variety of reactions. The Marrowbreach getting all cute and obsessed is great, but certain other fish could retrieve it for you and become friendly, or chase it away from you like playing with a ball, long after the light goes out. More personality, storytelling, and breathing room for the player. ||
|| 2. The hatchet should use a separate stabby animation for fish. You try swinging with heft in water: it's not happening. When attacking, hatchet attacks should increase fish aggression while depleting an invisible "HP" stat. When the HP is depleted, the fish swims away for up to 30 seconds while it recharges HP. Then, increment the base fish agression for future encounters. TLDR: Stabbing predator fish directly is a temporary solution and a long-term pain point, but is reinforced stronger and has more breathing room than the current build. ||
|| 3. The Sonic Resonator should immediately have small to medium fish disengage and swim away for up to 30 seconds. They should not become aggressive again towards you or your base for a long time. ||
|| 4. The Feedback Resonator works great but should last a bit longer. However, it should also discourage any offensive/player-following aggression permanently, while leaving immediate spawn territory to function as intended. Guns spook animals, regardless of if they are lethal or not.||
|| 5. I think the other gap we're seeing is the one noted in the PDA, where having defensive plants solves the "Hammerhead has fallen in love with my moonpool" problem. Patiently awaiting this content.😉||

I hope the SN2 map that we have now gets bulked out however slightly in more directions than just along the west-to-east vector that the story currently takes us in. Ah yes Dr. Wu Wu. In my game I did in fact download it, but after talking to the NoA unit there, it’s reactivated the quest marker for me. I went in really quickly and didn’t pay attention. Apparently that voice log should have been locked until you talked to NoA and then unlocked Wu’s computer. The glitch is that you could access it before.

Suggestion for the moderators ; Create a new role for people who are abusing reacts, and deny reaction permissions to that role. Assign role as needed. Carl-bot can also be used to just delete the reactions of specific users, that would be a cleaner way to do it with less potential downsides. Some of the complaining about it is also being a bit shrill. Hi, I'm trying to understand how the devs are thinking about the No Kill rule, and was hoping to get some clarity on plans supporting this ethos.

1. Are tools for long term adaption of environment to player habitation(or player to environment) planned to be made available, to compensate for the inability to kill individual hostile fish and open up greater options for player base locations? Things like mutually exclusive biomods(with some cost or condition preventing them from being easily hotswapped for every biome players enter or explore, and obviously not applying to leviathans) to make specific hostile fish neutral, or a building that influences fish in the area to calm them or induce fear.
2. Is there a consistent and ongoing effort to review and ensure that enemy spawns are not excessive or frustrating?
3. Since many concerns appear to focus on specific fish harassing players in the same location repeatedly, has a mechanic to relocate fish when repeatedly swatted as a sort of non-lethal alternative to creatures dying been considered? For example, having a few "unassigned" home locations in each biome for any given hostile, and letting them swap to a different home location when met with consistent resistence?

I would love to play and love this game. But I am deeply concerned by the tone and handling of the controversy around this decision.

Yes, there is a new hotfix patch that has not cleared certification on xbox and is therefore not available. This means crossplay between xbox and pc is not possible on the newest patch until the hotfix clears certification.

Both. Beyond the border is the void currently, undeveloped areas. Same as the previous 2 games, the void is a very unsafe area to be in, as not only do they always spawn leviathans to kill you, but there's nothing underneath you. Dock it from underneath, very low when docking. Otherwise it's bugged and does not work.
So when approaching the dock, aim for the very bottom of it and it'll work everytime even when it's much tighter. No idea why it works this way right now, but just the way it is currently lol.

I love the yapping too, personally, it's perhaps the best part for me, because it feels like Subnautica upped its game and went much much more intricate in the detailing. Skippable, I suppose, but... I love the science of it all.
