||I never seem to have found this signal, I just stumbledd on this place exploring 😭 ||
Why Tf is the only alien scanner blue print in such a spot ?? Im
Sure 90% of ppl are missing it rn
They're genuinely insane compared to everything else in the game
How do i get to ||alien ruins||?
Exactly!
Well finished EA1 so far it's great I like it a lot left some good questions and such to think about for future patches and releases.
If it's one of the regular angel Combs the sonic resonator should work just fine I think you're just too far away
I consider them the mpst dangerous thing tbh
i hope the resources become a little bit more... idk the term, like i want it be more random, i loved how you could find limestones in pretty much every biome in subnautica 1, i feel like in 2 you have to go to specific places and i dont think thats much fun
True true! But consider: I feel bad about eating them alive sometimes. This is just like an immersion thing for me, hunting for fish feels a bit unfinished right now
Yeah, I do think the parasites need better ways to deter them, along with a bit of a nerf
||what do i do after getting to the abandoned base labelled alien ruins? i've explored around and built my own base, i've found the depth module but thats it. i tried to follow directions to the portion of the cicada wreck but i got lost near some alien buildings and turned back, and i found one of those adaption plants but i couldn't destroy the blooms because they would close up ||
I have NO idea what compelled you to ||go past the collector|| for no reason but okay lol 😭 😭 😭
hi subnauts, do you guys know if the collector leviathan ACTUALLY can roam out of his biome? He keeps losing me as SOON as i cross the threshold
NoA gives you a signal to the wreck and then tells you that it is probably in there and then if you explore the wreck you find it
is there anyway to get more of the passive biomods or has that not been added yet
Why is the sky usually so gray and gloomy when the sea is blue and saturated?
Let me kill nibblers. There mad annoying bro
late but i've been having this problem too. its a little buggy
im at the same part, and i've tryed that and it still doesn't work
I'd like an axe like the one Kratos has in God of War: Ragnarok.
The parasites kind of are the intended "combat" in Subnautica so it kind of makes sense, everything else is deterrence and survival, the parasites are to be purged
I just got to the big alien thing, where can I get the tadpole upgrade how do I spoiler warning this
They do like 2 damage. Who cares lmao
You have to so you can progress
would be nice if ore and crystal respawned but at a slower rate then living things like pulp plants. for the base builders...
having a pack of mangos right outside my base isnt scary. i dont feel helpless or weaker, its just annoying. i go outside to edit my base and i got the triplets biting me every five seconds
"Never posed any danger"
It grabbed my Tadpole, smashed it into a wall 400m below and instantly desroiyed it, and then ate me. I had to go down there with the wakemaker and dodge the thing ro repair it and drive off
Dropped a portable locker through the moonpool and it yeeted it self off the map? 😆
Where the safe zone around the collector? Im not trying to do the water skim technique i had taken a route straight towards the alien structure that a friend showed but i forgot and when looking it up only find vids of people telling to skim the surface
Looking for a squad, DM me if you're on
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
how many biomods are there? is it just the 4 for ea1
The infection is to be purged, not the parasits specifically. The Game does not incentivize killing through them
I personally dont think reviving is a good system if your being eaten by something it just doesnt make sense, but if its from like a hammerhead sure
will they add weather to this game? below zero had weather, to be honest, i was surprised weather was not added in this first version of subnautica 2, feel like its something that pretty much makes sense for this world
The ||alien buildings|| are some of the coolest locations I've ever seen in a Subnautica game. Whoever designed them did a fantastic job,
It being at the entry in a dead angle is just a terrible placement , Even more when u are forced to look up in the hallway . Again no one even speak about it bcz of that
Spoken like someone who never ground anything to death with the prawnsuit mining arm, but, okay, I'll play.
There are only two predators in this game lethal enough to matter, the shiver and collector. The other predators are just annoying. Seriously, just hang out next to the marrowbreach and see how long it actually takes to kill you. Same for the mangoes.
When humans find nests of annoying pests, we destroy the nest. The "predators" are annoyances, not legitimate enemies. It's not about some kind of combat fantasy, it's about giving the player the means to remove an annoyance. If you find out your house has a wasp's nest in it, it's a bad day to be a wasp, and that's the end of it. We need something to remove the annoyances from our bases.
why are beds useless even in single player bruh im not tryna be around at night
I don't need to kill things just be able to like knife them and they leave me alone
You unlock like 10-15 more later
where the the research outpost so i can find the tadpole depth module
not sure why I was expecting a message which literally says "This was EA edge", anyway. reached it I guess, still awesome start
anyone knows where is celestine?
It's the alien city one You need the range extender upgrade. If it's any of the normal ones you need to clear out the juveniles before the adult can be cleared, just follow along with the roots from the adult to find the juveniles
How do I get past the giant squid looking leviathan
||I was tryna scan it in little bits jumping in and out of my tadpole and it smacked me away and got my tadpole destroyed so I hadda run and saw this place||
5 promineant biomods and like 13 passive biomods
Indeed. Though in fairness, given the number of base builds I've seen that have been achieved without killing the resident Leviathan, it wasn't beyond possibility that you could've shared that home.
Ultimately, the point I'm trying to make is that if one is able to kill a Leviathan, it should be an act of immense emotional & potentially even gameplay consequence, beyond removing it as a threat.
Sure, you'll have your a couple utter sociopaths who'll revel in such wanton destruction regardless of the severity of consequences, but I don't believe such opportunities for instilling powerful emotional & moral quandaries should be denied from the rest of the playerbase.
And I extend the same philosophy towards the act of harming other creatures.
I go along surface between ||heat zone and ruins|| I’ve made about 4-5 runs back and forth and not had any major attacks by collector
I mean that's fair, they do die once you kill the nodes themselves, though it does play out like a combat encounter even if your primary goal is to kill the source and not each individual parasite.
beautifully put
The lore at the Tadpole Pens is crazy
Yes, you aren't "forced" to do violence, since you can't force anyone to do anything... But that's still not the issue here. The issue is, that if you can't defend yourself, you are not given a way to escape, you can only RELY on violence.
Also, no. You aren't GIVEN tools, you earn them. Also, you still have to be able to use them proficiently. Still. Nobody is perfect. Some will find that the only way out is violence. If you don't have a stasis rifle, you can't easily and quickly get away. If you don't have the electric shock upgrade on your seamoth, you can't deter hostile fauna from ripping your lifeboat aparts 500m in a cave-system. That's death. You HAVE to do something, if that something becomes violence, then you should be able to choose that.
I think after I made it to the second region I went back to the coral region maybe once and that was it. Spent the entire second half of my playthrough in my second region
There's a lot, but many are really bad and basically useless. Only like 2 or 3 of them are worth using aside from the default ones you get.
I loved that part so much, insane
I’m tired of being harassed all hours of the game when I just want to organize some plants in a grow bed meanwhile 361 mangoes are simultaneously breeding more of themselves and eating my hp 2 ticks at a time and getting in the way of my clicks. Flares do something for all of three seconds then it’s back to sfx spam and click blocking
I think the one im on is the alien one, so where is the range extender upgrade?
am i stupid how do i attach the ladder to my base to connect it to the connected room. its not working 😭
How do you spoiler something g
yes but you wouldn't, like, know that without having it
wow so many, I played for ~14 hours and didn't find any past the initial few
I really want them change building so i can make my roof taller. I would like to see stairs, and like balconys, i feel so limited trying to build a vertical building
|| on each side, the character above backslash on most keyboards
why cant I place door 😠 (i have an inner wall)
put the room ontop or below the room then go inside and instal the ladder. must have clearence all the way around it
I made a whole boatload (like seriously almost 2 big lockers worth) of threemoon temaki I hauled over to my other base😂
idk if this is the right place to ask but does anyone know how to get the compass or if there is one yet
One is In the wreck on top of a rock spire next to the alien city, and the second one is around one of the yellow dwelling pools also nearby to the city
you probably didn't find the ||bioscanner || upgrade
they do like 1 point of damage, too. They're seriously not dangerous, they're just anklebiters. Like the biters and blighters from the original.
||you have to get a bio scanner to unlock more||
You have to unlock a modification for the scanner to unlock them. All i’ll say, keep searching ship wrecks 😉 Spoilers: || Unlocking the bioscanner allows you to scan animals and earn their perks as biomods! ||
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
Dang!
wait the current ending in the game isnt the actual planned ending for the full game right?
Why exactly is the collector leviathan called the collector leviathan?? (I'm too scared to scan it to find out ngl) Does it collect stuff or what? Don't really see it doing that
you dont even need to do all that you can just go directly to and from past the ||collector leviathan|| and even if it grabs your tadpole it does barely any damage most amount of times i got grabbed was 4 its mostly 0-1 grabs and even with the 4 my tadpole wasnt even below 40 health
It is not
How do this???
Theoretically could you build an extremely long moon pool through the collector leviathan passage to safely travel through with your tadpole?
Can’t wait to play sub 2 tomorrow with my brother we are going to get as far as you can in early access
its not, the little things ive broken before are closed. i need to open them with another tool first i think. its the one where the marrowbreach is guarding it
So i found a big hunk of silver and scanned it, says to consult my noa for optimal search areas but I dont see any options for that
Yeeeee i wish i could bring it back to my NoA
I’m just saying it works, if people have issues
Is it bad that I spent 16 hours today playing subnautica 2
The compass is already there. It'a at the tip of the screen, unless for some reason your monitor has a bad display issue covering it up.
how do i unlock more passive slots? i have a bunch of mods for it but can only equip 1?
Just don't let it attack you. The grab is the weak.
I’m just saying if the game tries to make me choose between blowing up the world tree and saving it, this planets fixing to lose a titan class lifeform
Odd no floating base. I was gonna build a base on the floor past everything but probably not doable
I’m trying to make a power line from turbines but there is no line connecting and I get no energy I need help when I use my power transmitters
when is ea 1.1 gonna release?
i found a glitch were u can get out the map how do i report it
it will be released once it releases
Will we finally get a "praw suite" that actually looks like a crustacean this time? A "crab module" for our vehicle would be very interesting (it could break large objects and scare away creatures).
We have no clue, but if I had to guess, in 3 months at a minimum
i'm so used to it being under depth i might be slow lol
No, you need to cure the juveniles first. Follow the roots away from the adult
It'll be called the Bullfrog apparently
Hi
You gotta scan a scanner mate, then check which things to scan by checking the biomed
frog modual hehe
pause the game and use the feedback button
Ive seen people build half way thru then dive or builds corridors every so many meters to keep away from the collector
Oh please let it be quadrupedal
finally beat the game
A friend just made me realize it exists, and wtf the spot is absurd..
I feel like the creatures are offended by my presence on their planet 😭
hopefully we can have another vehicle besides the trident and tadpole
It has a bunch of grabby tentacles to grab and smack things with.
I and so many others wanted a crab mech
I desperately hope that they don’t keep doing the attachment/chassis gimmick. Maybe a hot take but the tadpol is kinda lame and I want another small class ship
You literally can't beat the game without the ||Bioscanner||, good luck y'all
There's already leaked stuff in game files. Interesting stuff for the future
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
You are acting like the average player was always knifing leviathans to death. This just didnt happen. People would clear out stuff around their base and would occasionally kill something else when backed into a corner until they got the prawn suit in the very end of the game. And after that you bet there was a single revenge leviathan kill, but I didn't go on a sudden killing spree.
"If you killed things like the stalkers or sea treaders, you'd just screw yourself for resources in the long run. "
Yeah, what a great natural deterrent without completely removing killing. Making you think about where and what you killed, only killing when necessary, almost as if killing for survival... in a survival game...
If I have a hammer and a wild cat is attacking me in the wild, I'm smacking that with a hammer until it stops breathing like my life depends on it regardless of my odds.
"As for combat in 1. THERE WAS no combat in 1."
objectively false... Mobs had health, that health could be reduced to 0. Intentions or not, there was combat in SN1 and it was great...
"You don't need a knife, unless you're a murder hobo who can't look at a creature without wanting to stab it."
Not everything in life is black and while. If I were in the scenario our character was in, I would absolutely clear out wildlife around my established base for defense/safety. There is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE leap from that to murdering every creature on the planet.
We both agree that you can create deterrents without killing. And even though that is INCREDIBLY unrealistic, I'm fine with that if they give effective deterrents. and no, bonking a shark 300 times so it moves away for a short while is not fun nor effective. And anyone defending the current state of deterrents is doing a great disservice to the game.
Yea I didn't do that. Just sat there after calling them over and let them go inside and figure it out 😂 As if I had just done it myself sort of deal
||how do you find the deepwing brooder||
Anyone else having issues deconstructing parts of the base even though everything was removed from the wall or segment? Been running into these issues and just, looking for advice of a work around
If anyone knows how power transmitters work please dm or reply to me
whats the machine name that regenerates resources if u put it in it? im tryna find the fragments
seems like 16-20h of play beats the game in ea. i hope the full game merits at least 40+ hours of content
Anyone got a friend to play with I just finished installing the game excited I guess
Yeah but if it's called a collector, it should collect things using the tentacles, y'know? The fact its in a big open area just swimming around doing nothing confuses me. Thought there'd be some kind of nest down below its area but I didn't find anything.
Anyone experienced the game suddenly dropping to sub 10 FPS for no discernible reason?
seems like the game will be way bigger than subnautica 1 in content.
"there was combat in SN1 and it was great..."
It was the most boring feature in the game
where are red Quadrates I can’t find them
someone PLEASE tell me where the research outpost is
Happened to me earlier with a corridor piece, just detach it from the rest of the base and use the refund bases menu on it
Im looking for a friend to play with im about 6 hours in
Wait, the Great Jaws that we see in-game is only a baby? Oh dear lord...
yo how do i open the console
called the alien ruins on ur pda the powerplant zone is the last angel comb
So what you're saying is, you want to be able to walk into another animal's home, in a world you don't belong in, covered in trash your species brought with them, to scan that trash and never come back, and your response to an animal doing exactly what it was supposed to do in its environment and probably defending its home from you in a way that was completely avoidable... is to kill it because that was annoying? Hell, you're gonna RISK killing it and being killed by it just because it was annoying? That is a huge stretch to justify killing something over.
You don't throw away efficiency and spend an hour killing a creature you're not supposed to kill with your prawnsuit because 'it's annoying' you do it because you enjoy killing it. It's far more efficient to just get your scans and leave.
Killing leviathans was never supposed to be a thing, and the devs actively stated they regretted the stasis rifle existing at all. You aren't supposed to kill leviathans, you were never supposed to kill leviathans, and being able to do it trivializes the risk they impose, the atmosphere, mood and quality of gameplay. If you want a game about killing things for fun, go play sons of the forest or valheim. There are plenty of other survival games that are combat focused. Subnautica is, has been, and was always about environmentalism, exploration, the dangers of corporate greed and the intricate balance of survival within nature, not against it. If you somehow missed that in all of this, that's on you.
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
It's very hand holdy. I beat it 10hrs. Very short imo. I woulda been happier with a just a sandbox tbf
You will get a signal directly to it when you are meant to find it
Anyone else reach the end and hoping they had more story after that cliff hanger?!
Sub 1 EA release was like, shallows and grassy plains, and that was about it. Sub 2 EA release has a lot more going on, it's a promising start. Will agree with my co-op though, it's a little disappointing that there's not much to after the current story besides just base building
“It’s only a baby can you imagine the size of an adult” also starting to feel overdone
Any devs present here
|| the reason its called collector is because you can use its sonar to to collect stuff easier, thats not what the leviathan does. Why should a leviathan change its personality for our madeup name? ||
yo can someone gift me sub 2 on steam i am broke asf and it looks so peak 😭
do you guys think subnautica 1 remastered would sell more copies?
is there a second growbed fragment I can find, and is there anything similar to the alien containment unit from sn1/bz?
edit: as it turns out I am blind
You ever noticed those little blue eggs, that if you get close to them they disappear in a puff? Those are their eggs. Wherever those blue orbs are, they pass by there.
I don't want to have to refund the entire base to remove a wall that is in the middle of a room, I need to remove this wall so I can install a ladder. It's like a catch 22 of walls.
why cant I place an interior door
OOOOOOOOOOOO thank you so much
gang, is it just me or does the collector leviathan tend to leave people alone 90% of the time, is this an early access thing?
It was necessary for survival and establishing a base in a scary, unfamiliar world. it didn't need to be fun or even the main focus. (nor should it, nor is the average person asking for that in SN2). It was a tool used for survival and balanced for effort vs reward .
So yes, in my books that was great.
The second fragment is at the same base you find the first
can you have mods and still play multiplayer?
how do u unlock windows in s2
||both growbed fragments are at the alien ruins ping (one on the roof, one next to the base)||, and no, no alien containment
hello
RIP all the stuff in my storage when I respec my base
bro i do not care about when the game wants me to find it i just want my depth module i do not careeeeeee
You need to make an interior wall first.
id like them to bring back the fish tanks and such and the egg system
Make glass
yes its p2p
ah not sure then, maybe try reload an earlier save or reload the current save and see if it fixes
its definitely longer and grindier I feel like
well, without the stasis rifle in sn2, that would make leviathans even harder to kill. i think the option should still be there. it's a survival sandbox. the effort you'd have to put in to dodge a collector and kill it would be fair enough to let you kill it
I'm not sure there are any regions that you need the depth module to access before it gives it to you
My buddy was off in the void and all I hear is a loud bang and him screaming over mic as he gets eaten by a kraken, 10/10 game
Where do repair tool fragments spawn is it in the starting area or not cuz I've searched like the whole thing and haven't got one
what places can I give suggestion or feedback? the ingame feedback menu doesn't allow enough characters
I wish subnautica 2 had a dating mechanic and you could give the PDA voice a synthetic body and go on dates with her, just food for thought after Early Access. I’ve just been falling in love with her
Does anyone know if theres gonna be a big vehicle like the cyclops in the future of subnautica 2?
You said that, as if names wouldn't be descriptive... Imagine a blue jay not having anything to do with the color blue, but the fact that we like to paint their taxidermied remains that colour...
oh ok cause we were all wondering
Grass is an object that exists in real life
Here's how subnautica 2 ends according to the hidden lore ||Ryley rides in on his flying space reaper leviathan, cuts the tree down with his trusty survival knife, and throws the player all the way back to earth||
None of the Subnautica games are sandbox games imo.
Is it possible to get the mk2 depth module for the tadpole in survival mode?
L ragebait
No
Does anyone know how to get the ultra high capacity air tank?
can i join my friends world withouth them being in it?
yes there is and i want the damn module i dont careeeeeee
Help. I got a voice pda from Day One base that says something about cave and crab. But I wasn't paying attention, and now I can't find it in data bank. Can somebody please tell me the entry name or what is the content of that voice?
where do i report bugs such as not being able to shrink rooms once theyre made too big or too complex in shape?
Technical Issues? Game crashing on launch? Please see all the latest details on drivers here #service-updates.
Found a Bug? Please use the Feedback tool on the ingame menu or visit https://support.subnautica.com/ including all other technical support related issues.
It’s not, Subnautica games are not what would traditionally be called “sandbox”
Is there a setting to make the scanner station ping not disappear when I get close to it? It’s extremely annoying
its in the needler cave
Searching for a team to play with
They should add smth into the game like how Minecraft has a realm thing where you can join that world anytime even if the owner is offline.
||It can be found near the alien ruins on alterra wrecks. Just keep searching wrecks near 120 degrees North and youll find it||
how do i get silver
Ok so for anyone wondering max depth is 10.486 Meters before you get stuck in a softlocked "not dead not alive" limbo state
Nobody wondered about anyone’s opinion, it’s a general chat. I advocate for having romance added to subnautica 2. Maybe even a triangular love server between the PDA, the eye robot, and the player
Didn't know you could do that with ||the bioscan||, makes sense now, sorry
best place to get gold?
does anyone know, if I were to make a second processor in my base, would I be able to use both at the same time?
how come i cant place the dock or vehicle fabricator?
Mods, can I get reduced cooldown time so I can actually help people in chat
where do you find the giant clam, i beat the game and i havent seen it once
Yes
Will we ever be able to scan couches in the future?
well sure but our naming isnt wrong, it doesnt say the leviathan collects, its a leviathan known for letting us collect.
At the very least he happily collects our tadpole as a light midday snack incase thats enough for ya
Since 2 minute slowmode @bleak stratus , craft a biomed station and check out who u need to scan for more upgrades
the hot place
just need the power to support it
Also thinking back on it now: ||Metal farms shouldn't exist until 1.0 is released and they can be moved to endgame|| It feels like it takes a bunch of the resource gathering/exploration away from the game, especially for base building
You gotta make the room bigger around the moonpool. And the moonpool has to be a bit bigger too
How do I get Celesteine
Survival sandbox doesn't mean all of them need to have the same level of ability to kill things. There are as many different styles of game in that genre as there are colors. Active combat mechanics with a focus on them goes entirely against subnautica's themes of environmentalism, exploration, the dangers of corporate greed and the intricate balance of coexisting with nature.
If you wanna just kill stuff to kill it, valheim is better for that, or the forest, or conan exiles, or ark survival. Not every game has to be about killing the bad guys, and it is honestly refreshing that subnautica ISNT like that.
this game is so goood I already have 27 hours
Help please. I got a voice pda from Day One base that says something about cave and crab. But I wasn't paying attention, and now I can't find it in data bank. Can somebody please tell me the entry name or what is the content of that voice?
Anyone know how to do the tadpole glitch where it makes you go mach 8?
anyone know where the ||deep wing brooder|| is located?
sorry bro, wrong discord, celeste is another game
wheredat i wat ma depth module
@lament dust yo get on
did u play sub 1?
is there console commands yet? refund base just deleted 90% of my stuff and i'd like to use freebuild mode to get it back, pretty frustrating since it says its supposed to give a full refund but only gave me some of the items back
its in the ocean
they wander around the edges of the map
yo, is anyone else getting afterimages of objects while out of water?
where can you find ||Red Quadrates||?
I encountered it before but idk where
A lot of ores are extremely limited, so it's probably there to prevent a softlock.
Just did, now I'm scared. Also the name makes more sense now that I think about it
||Endgame area, they swim near the surface. Watch out for the Collector.||
That is not true at all. It takes twenty real life minutes to only get one resource at a time
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
not offically, but you can download some mods to get a basic set of commands
anyone here able to make vehicle mods? if u can please dm me
Na only 2 minerals are limited, I do understand it's use for 1 of them, but afterwards it's just free titanium every 2 mins, same with copper/silver/gold
It's by the needler cave (black box ruby 2) bring the sonic resonator with to harvest. It kinda looks like quartz.
Welcome to humanity, my good man. We're an apex predator, and we don't like being eaten.
where do you find the giant clam people keep talking about
its the singh blackbox pda or like 1300 meters east of the lifepod
but there isnt a focus on combat? also, they can then implement cons to outweigh or balance the pros of being violent. say you kill the collector, it was at the top of its food chain so now everything near it also dies and boom the surrounding area of where it used to be has ecologically collapsed and is now a dead zone. perhaps that then invites bloom to come in, if they add non-scripted bloom encounters in development
In the ocean 👍
anyone know if subnautica ipad edition supports magic keyboard or any external ones
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
anyone else having trouble shrinking your base after placing a moonpool or scanner station and then removing them? I can't shrink the places where the objects were. Anyone find a solution?
Hey guys so I constructed my tadpole haul chassise under my docked tadpole, and I cannot get either free because they are both stuck. Can anyone help?
Also, going out and manually mining is generally much faster, unless you commit a bunch of resources to them
They primarily exist to allow for those resources to be renewable
relog
You keep harping on "kill stuff to kill stuff" like that's everyone's stated reasoning and it is not. In fact I have seen 0 people state "I just like killin' things."
Being stranded with no way out from an unfamiliar environment, one would kill stuff around a safe area they were establishing to make it safe.
Being attacked by a predator and defending against it by eliminating that predator is a natural response and doesn't make someone a murdering bloodthirsty monster.
I am glad I do not see the world in black and white as you do, because grey is almost always the answer.
Build a scanner, scan for lithium.
is there a place where I can found a lot of conduit crystals because I can't found some
Without spoilers if possible, how do I find ||Celestine||? I feel like I've looked everywhere around the ||tower|| region
is there any story content in early access past ||the point where we find out how far we are from earth||?
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
Nope
has anyone reached the bottom of the ||sinkhole||? I'm ||650m deep|| and it's still going
I feel so called out by this 😂
i cant friggin find itr
Look harder. Or build a scanner room and scan for it.
My guy, if you find roaches in your house, you don't coexist with them. You poison the nest. Apex predator.
It really isn't. 2 minutes for 20-30 titanium, use it up to build and by time you have, it's ready to harvest again, which is a problem. When it's late game and you want to build a mega base, sure, I can understand that. But it's placement for future story release is far too early imo
Calling anything a "collector" literally means it collects something/s. Come on...
I vote that it should have a pouch somewhere on its body, where we can pilfer some other leviathan's eggs, that it "totally not collected". That would actually make that thing relevant for more than just making us crap our pants. (the bot just warned me for the usage of the previous iteration of crap... So strict... So strict...)
We wouldn't even need to use violence! Just be very crafty in distraction.
Look a bit deeper
at some point it just ends with a physical and literal black box lmao
Dont worry the average player usually does (im i did it as well)

I have a question about the game that I'd like to ask the developers. The game build currently being released is old, right? The videos the team released show many missing features. For example, the visual interface on the tadpole's steering wheel where you can see the charge and durability. The most pressing issue for me is the hydroturbines, which are currently just a cylinder that somehow hangs in the water, but the video shows them as a structure made of three turbines attached to the bottom. There are also many flaws in the construction system, such as arches and doors that are crooked and don't fit where they should. For example, I also haven't figured out how to make the wall of the residential module diagonally, or those semicircular protrusions on the wall from the trailer. There are no bulkheads for the cylindrical corridors, etc. If so, could you share at least an approximate date when all this will be included in the current release (if you even notice it, of course :))
yo, is anyone else getting afterimages of objects while out of water?
Definitely collects baby great jaws
save and exit then restart save
Look by the needler cave!
is there any water filtration things like there was in sn1?
what region is the big clam in
Lumpy, slightly spiky lumps that are light blue. Usually found along the seafloor or in caves in that region. One cave has a lot of it, more is found deeper down at the bottom with the Needler Mangos

im so sorry u had to wait another 2 minutes 😭 slowmode hurts
It might be something in development as he is distracted by flaires, maybe because its a new human object hes never seen he wants to collect it?
Fish absolutely need to deal more damage jeez. Marrowbreaches are like NOTHJNG
can someone help me out rq?
i really truly cannot find the entrance to the big wreck in the hot area, it's driving me crazy. there's a big angry fishie that i'm trying to work around and i've been at it for like half an hour because i can't see bug all. i know i can get in there because i hear something beeping so enticingly at me... anyone got advice for me?
Are the small crate real storage? like can I store stuff in it?
i was already out there..? I just want the depth module.
|| I mean, even if it's "our made up name", this is a game, and if you're going to call something a "Collector Leviathan", then it really should have a good reason to be called that, other than "scanning it lets you get things a bit easier" ||
||how am i meant to enable the 3 symbols that are in the top generator controls? I assume one of them is the methane bulb stuff, but upon inspecting there's not really anything interactable||
idk how to explain this to you in a way you'll understand, but games change over the course of their multi-year development
its likely features that are either,
A. Still in development
B. Scrapped for one reason or another (likely story or performance driven)
I believe so, I think it works like a chest of sorts
Ah ok tysm yall
Tried that already, no luck. Thanks anyways
|| chat i created the ultimate base location down at the map border just past the metal alien mining pool, theres vents with gold on the other side with 0 life around it if anyone wants to farm mats and triolite its the best spot for a base! ||
its like in the cave theres a sunken tadpole with it in it go back to the lifepod then go 1300 meters east its 295 meters below sea level
Nvm I tested it and the small crate doesn’t have storage
i just reached alien tower, how close am i to the end of existing story? no spoilers pls, just smth like "youre halfway trough"
I was thinking the same, but since we can't fight back in this game, I feel like less damage makes more sense.
Help. I got a voice pda from Day One base that says something about cave and crab. But I wasn't paying attention, and now I can't find it in data bank. Can somebody please tell me the entry name or what is the content of that voice?
Is there a way to unlock more than 1 passive mutation slots?
I'd rather not because Marrowbreaches stalk you and bite multiple times per attack. Especially bad when they have Houndgars with them.
I'm not entirely sure that everything is exactly like that, because the video I'm talking about (about building bases) was released shortly before the release.
collects our tadpole i unno 😉

I'm guessing like the previous games, aquariums and creature eggs will be an eventual addition in a future update? I miss having my own lil group of cute little creatures
Humans being an apex predator and having the right to kill and exploit whatever we want is a corporate driven misrepresentation of our actual relationship with this planet, and how ecosystems function. Being an apex predator doesn't mean you get more, it means you need more of a very specific thing, in a very specific way, in a very specific environment, or you die.
Welcome to reality, real life alterra got you good.
I mean we can it's just not permanent. I think adding more ways to ward creatures off but making them deal more damage is the play
||what do i do after getting to the abandoned base labelled alien ruins? i've explored around and built my own base, i've found the depth module but thats it. i tried to follow directions to the portion of the cicada wreck but i got lost near some alien buildings and turned back, and i found one of those adaption plants but i couldn't destroy the blooms because they would close up ||
Nope, one active and one passive biomod slot
nah fish definetly need to deal more damage, but only if you have a way to fight back, right now theyre just annoying but if you cant fight back and they deal more damage it would just be completely unfair
The devs are really tryna have their cake and eat it too, they’re either going to have to cave on the killing thing, or make the fish vastly different
Glad peanut loved the game ngl, for a pvper to like this you must be doing something right
does pent have any other purposes asides from bioreactor biscuits?
The people who want killing are a very vocal, but small in number group
Any way to power a base at the Troilite location without using biorreactor?
I'd say along with that, there should be a way for you to more permanently deter creatures from your base
Guys is there anything even useful about the alien ruins other than the growbed? Or am i missing something
Needler eggs are in the game, but not as an item. Brooder eggs can be picked up, but they're just food.

||head over to the cicada wreck, its SE from the ruins but a fair distance so you just need to trust the process. Explore the terrain around there you'll unlock some useful stuff||
if you think the way I described that is black and white, you need to get off the pc and go read a book.
Y'know Ive been thinking, a good middle ground for the whole "we can't kill things" and "make fish do more damage" situation could be making the sonic resonator (or whatever it's called) temporarily stun creatures (in a similar way to the stasis rifle from 1 maybe)
"right" has nothing to do with it. No real human being is going to set up shop in a survival situation and not deal with the issues of their own safety. If a wolf shows up outside your door and won't leave, Mr. Wolf is going to either get on Team Human, or Mr. Wolf is not going to be a wolf for long. In real life - sure, there are mechanisms to deal with predators moving into human territory. In Subnautica? There's just you. You're not going to just put up with being chewed on every time you wanna leave your house. You're going to do something about it. That's facts.
Something I would really love to see in a future update would have to be like mid-sized rideable creatures.
Weather it be just a temp joyride then the creature kicks you off, or even a fully tameable interaction that you could even fabricate a saddle for.
||I really feel that it could also be somewhat story driven with a race like the AXUMS and how some of the more primative clans maybe used them for travel||

I don’t want killing but I saw a post on the Nolt saying how immersion breaking it was when you hit a small fish with the tadpole and they don’t die and I 100% agree
I think it’s the most upvoted thing on the Nolt rn
personally i think no killing is reasonable since we're meant to survive in the world, not dominate it. though i do feel that the resonator should do more to ward off predators

All this talk about killing creatures is just annoying
Simply untrue, all day I’ve seen people advocate for it, Reddit, here and on the feedback in reviews and the website. It feels like we just have a case of glazedivers in the subnautica community…
Haha, wouldn’t go that far, but it’s certainly weird seeing the pushback to permanently end the anklebiters
That’s more of a balance thing then, than an argument for killing (I am all for discussions about balancing)
Does anyone know why power transmitters aren’t giving power to my base
i sent a photo in the dm
I HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE BOTH chassis areblocking my tadpole to move is there a way to fix this, dm me for screeshot
Needs to be directly attached to the base

if your tadpole is docked and you crafted one that spawned below it save and relog it fixed it for me
is there any particular way to get || collector|| to stop following me
One of them should be attached to the base, I think that's the problem)
I wouldn't say that actually. Hitting a small fish with a knife and not seeing it die felt like something had gone wrong with the game. Like it made sense for everything bigger than the prey fish, but those guys? Yeah they need to die when you hit them, or else the world just kind of doesn't feel real.
Make a new moonpool and tadpole, collect the chassis and move them
i dont understand why its needed, nothing is hard to survive yet

what if we just...had the option to disable killing g fish?
like some kinda pacifist mode
to satisfy both parties i dunno
Anyone know how to get my vehicle out of a zone still being developed?
Frankly, if you want REALISM. The realistic consequence of stabbing a huge carnivore with a knife in an environment you weren't built for that actively impedes your ability to move freely would be getting immediately and violently torn to shreds in self defense with no possibility of escape unless it decides to let you go on its own.
In real life, especially humans in survival situations, humans who run up and stab bears get mauled to death. The realistic combat you're actually asking for is stupid people poking a bear and getting mauled. Plain and simple.
I'm a new subnautica player, hru guys doing?
Mistaking the game for hardcore survival isn’t the game’s fault (because it’s not that type of game)
That's why we have better weapons than knives, yes.
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
Yeah, I'd say at most, the small fish should be killable
The larger fish really don't need to be killable
You are saying to everyone here that killing point blank period has no place in this game and doesn't make sense because "humans should be peaceful and not want to hurt environments."
And I and many others are arguing that even if one holds those values in nature, in self defense/survival (a grey area) killing is justified and normal. Eat or be eaten is literally nature.
Your then response to that is always something along the lines of "you just want to kill because you like killing." every time.
That is, in fact, a black and white way of thinking. There is a middleground that makes sense.
How do I put in a bug report

do the large outcrops you need the resonator to harvest respawn?
hey guys, been playing sub 2 but whenever i get into a tadpol and leave it, it would glitch my game where i cant do anything aside from swimming around
do you know whats going on?
See that’s the reasonable option, sadly the devs want to virtue signal and push their viewpoints regardless on what the community wants, it’ll be cool to see if they cave or not though lol
Eh it's 50/50 tbf. I for one do agree SMALL fish, ones we catch and eat, should be killable, with the larger fish not having the same deal. But I also believe ||that they're saving that aspect for w/e we're supposed to show our "mercy" too at the end, the big bad sort of thing ||
game is great, thanks Dev!
The lack of response when hitting things in general gives subnautica a plasticky feeling sometimes. The fish are just most apparent example of it IMO.
Can you look at ur DMs
Does anyone else keep taking stuff out of their lockers before crafting it cause you're used to it?
||Welp, found a second giant tentacle monster||
The inverse situation of a bear charging to attack you, do you just let it? Or do you bring tools with you to defend yourself and yes, maybe choose your life over the life of the bear.
It’s not about mercy, the planet should be trying to kill “you” not the other way around
They will be changing and updating things as time passes
Definitely. I think the big issue right now is that the current methods of deterring annoying creatures aren't very effective, so a lot of players want to kill them for being annoying. Those deterrants need to be better and more satisfying, and the predators need to be threatening enough to be scary instead of annoying
Good demo honestly
You can kill small fish by cooking them. Otherwise, you'd just be murdering wildlife. Keep in mind that our player character arrived with scientists who are ecologically friendly. It wouldn't make sense from a story standpoint to just wipe out every fish.
All the talk about killing fish has been pointless since the first game. The developers were furious when they saw players slaughtering everything alive with a stasis rifle and knife. I'm not sure, but I think I heard them say their goal for the game's atmosphere was a constant sense of tension and "being a small player in a big, scary ocean," so they'll probably never add that.
a thing about balancing that i feel needs to be adjusted is creature damage and their aggression. currently things are SUPER aggressive, but deal very minimal damage (primarily small and medium sized fauna). i think less aggression, but more damage would make the world feel more threatening. also, with the new creature interactions, less aggression to players would make creature hunting feel more balanced in a sense where they aren't only attacking you, but attacking everything else an equal amount
What's everyone's thoughts so far?
The ||Angelcomb with the closed cankers|| that require others destroyed for them to open, how close should I be looking? Right around the POI mark or just anywhere in the region? I've followed the ||Rockbore roots|| extending out and haven't found anything.
Looking for people with mics
any of you use the diving elevator for anything useful?
Finished the game it’s peak
probably ascending or descending
In every other game, where we could kill, it has felt that way. Taking away our only method of dealing in absolutes was genuinely just virtue signaling by the devs
It has no point in THIS game because that's literally what the game is about. You do kill things, you just don't kill things that are unreasonable to kill. Every time you cook a fish, it dies. You kill enough to survive, and do not exceed that. What yall wanna do with your knives is exceeding that.
And @bronze fjord. In that case, then you'd agree it's unreasonable to equip people in a survival setting, trying to colonize an alien world, who aren't allowed to use guns, with a knife so they can act stupid and get themselves killed by stabbing an apex predator?
I understand that, but subnautica one and BZ had the same thing. I think its a baked in theming thing, many things do not have responsive decals, sounds, effects, or anything when struck. I find it odd and plasticy, but it seems to be a desired aspect of the game
There is also the issue of not being able to physically fight back, being a viscerally unfair thing to experience. A lot of people have had plenty of childhood trauma, where they couldn't fight back against someone bigger, even if they wanted to. Now a game is mimicing that same feeling. Not a good look.
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
It would definitely make sense for someone’s moral convictions to take a back seat or for a character to decide that the ecological impact of a few murders (identical to the impact of killing them when you cook them instead) is minimal.
||there are some under one of the wrecks that you have to go in and then go under to destroy||
am i supposed to make it to the tree?
Bluntly, the player didn't ask to be here. The player signed up to be a long, long way from this place, and from my eye there's no chance of leaving. What that means is, humans live here now too, and humans have the same right to eat needlers as the needlers have to eat humans. Nobody asked for this, it's the situation that everyone finds themselves in. Rabbits have the same right to live as wolves do - and, ecologically, a rabbit is how an ecosystem turns wolf-inedible grass cellolose into wolf-edible fat and protein. That's what survival is - if the fishes are going to attack the humans, the humans are going to attack back, and we have thumbs. And fabricators. And a whole mess of technologies that the devs don't want to make the game about, but, fine. The idea that a human in the situation the player character finds themselves in would just let themselves get nibbled on constantly without doing something about it is laughable - okay, fine, the devs don't want us bazooking everything in our paths, that's acceptable. But that means the game needs to supply tools to deal with the problem that killing the predators solves.
You can have your opinion. I don’t see it as virtue signaling. I can have my own opinion too. That’s how it works
How do you build a 2nd floor to the base? I have the ladder, but it doesn't place a hole or anything in the floor... are there Vertical Corridors? I only have a horizontal one...
I don't think most of the people advocating for killable wildlife are also necessarily seeking to be able to run up to hostile creatures & murder them unprovoked.
i wanted to use the ele but with its current limits its a niche thing. they need to allow the poles to snap together allowing a seamless descend or climb
Our actions in game that aren’t scripted events have nothing to do with the story anyways so that argument is moot. I don’t want to go around killing everything I see, but as someone in here has stated, hitting something and it not even reacting is incredibly jarring. Also, if the predators are allowed to kill me I should be able to do the same IF they decide to add a tool that allows us to do that, however the multitool would be a terrible weapon for that.
Why are people booing me? I'm literally right. The player character is a pioneer, and they have a duty to keep environments healthy and waste as little as possible. The PDA even reaffirms this.
i am personally fine without being able to kill creatures, but i have to say that hostile creatures are probably my biggest negative complaint in this game at the same time. nibblers and hammerheads in the early area are just genuinely unfun imo with how frequently they spawncamp you and how few ways you have to actually get them away
im officially stuck ||After doing the angel cone below power generator, it leads me to the controls, the bottom one seemed done, the top one showed me 4 things that needs to be done (angel cone and 4 diagrams) and the turbine needs to be fixed. My guess is whilst fixing the things i would find pdas that lead me to finding the item that is used to fix the turbine (as it says unknown tool). Though going to the places which i assume the diagrams are leading me to (like the bulbs below methane pipe) there's nothing to scan or interact with. I'm Stuck. TL;DR After Axum Vision what do i do||
I would like to hunt fish with an axe instead of grabbing them with my bare hands and shoving them in my mouth personally. Like I don't want to kill anything bigger I just want to be able to hunt
Yeah, the lack of killing isn't really the problem, it's just the lack of effective deterrents and credible threat from most creatures
if someones able to make me a vehicle mod could u dm me?
Clearly you didn’t spend a lot of time in SN1 chat. Plenty of glory killing in there
make sure your two rooms are large enough, the ladders are quite annoying to place sometimes and they need a fair bit of room
i think leviathans should not be killable so you cant just clear them all out they should be a permanent threat i think but i hate those mango guys and i want them to be killable because i hate them so so so much
I hate those too
Yeah ladders need to be tighter like they were in subnautica 1
where is the best spot to build a base late game

||will there be more quests that appear after the chap one?|| I am not sure what to do now just wait?
mango nibblers are my ops
Honestly I just want the pulse gun thing to push or stun preds way from me
Weapons not doing anything when you hit creatures with them feels unpolished and intentionally anti fun.
i feel like if creatures are killable, they should be able to respawn eventually, but there should also be a better permanant deterrent for bases
Flares are really good. Try them
my friend is having desincing issues has anyone found a perma fix? i have to keep relogging the game constitantly
Bonk more
It’s so cool how they tease you then attack but there’s so many of them
you all realize theres a massive difference between a reaction from your tools and dying right
You seem to have no clue about how humans behave in a suvival situation. They tend to behave like territorial animals. You know what happens to something that annoys a human in it's territory? That's right. It gets effed up! In the game, we're in a survival situation. We tend to feel territorial. You don't want to mess with those instincts. You'll ruin the game for all those players.
I do agree that there needs to be a way to deter creatures outside of the distraction flare. (By the way, that's completely different from hunting.) Personally, I think there should be a sonic defense system for bases that repels them.
I reached the current endpoint with whats out rn SOOO PEAK
go home, game is incredibly woke
Get that sort of crap out of here
at the alien ruins base, most people put theirs right next to it but pretty much anywhere around there is ideal since all late game stuff is there and HEAPS of materials are around there
I personally would prefer something permanent that doesn’t clutter my inventory
Okay well this take is stupid let's move on
Are you sure it's not intended? Since In Below Zero for example I hunted the leviathans to extinction so I could just come and go as I pleased. Maybe it's made on purpose to signal that you can't kill everything in your way this time
They should add smth into the game like how Minecraft has a realm thing where you can join that world anytime even if the owner is offline.
Again black and white...
Killing to eat, good yes. Killing to defend ALSO good... I love animals but if one is attacking me im not simply bonking it once IRL, if its me or it I choose me. If I were on this planet I would be killing the shark and eel equivalent predators for my safety.
What is it you think I want to do with a knife? as I stated multiple times its not murdering leviathans. Just because you saw a video of a youtuber doing it doesn't mean its the norm, nor is it what people are asking for.
Defense and base establishment is a perfectly reasonable reason to kill something. Regardless of your thoughts on conservation.
No one here is suggesting extinction level murdering nor leviathan killing, but keep pretending they are.
Can you not deconstruct Ingots
can anyone help me? i did a manual save at around like 11 and i would like to go back to that save but idk how
S2 has already proven more detailed with the models, we may see some things added, throw it in a suggestion in their forum!
Did y'all not play the first game? It literally talks about how you only have the knife because "weapons were removed from standard survival blueprints following the massacre on Obraxis Prime. The knife remains the only exception." The human population has decided against it. One the one hand, yeah maybe running into fish should kill them or hitting them should, but on the other, it's really not canonical for the survivor to have anything close to a weapon that can handle the big fish.
||I just found out the distance between Proteus and Earth, is this the end of the EA?||
Yeah, I'm watching these arguments and it doesn't seem to me that there is a strong argument in favor of preventing us from having tools to deal with environmental factors, including fish. I mean, there is barely any actual plantlife on the planet.
Thats kinda the theme. There is an ecological pox that is making it impossible for things to find their place in their heirarchy. Humans historically have been that annihilating factor. I think the theme of Subnautica 2 is to make us the same as the fish, a rabbit in a dying forest.
But, we're humans. The way we survive is making tools Preventing us entirely from making necessary survival tools seems extremely undiegetic.
The devs don’t need to cause a slight hit to everyone’s experience to stop some number of people who play the game differently from enjoying the game however they want to. You don’t have to hunt down creatures if you don’t want to. It takes nothing away from you if you want to play pacifist, it doesn’t create some busted new strat since there’s no stasis and no resource drops from the big creatures. I can kinda get why the devs would want to make a change like this, I don’t at all understand why a player is against player choice
a plasma flare gun would work using a battery . and allow the flares to be thrown further
If you close the game you can choose on the side to “load” game and it gives options from autosave or manual save
You are not a wolf. You are a monkey in the water. And killing all of the animals that might bite you has consequences.
It doesn't match the games themes. Combat was never intended to be a focus in all three of the subnautica titles. The new tool lets you defend yourself well enough to get your scans and loot and go so you CAN do something about it, that's just not good enough for you. "but I wanna kill it" is not a good enough justification for departing from the game's centeral themes and story to sate your uninformed beliefs about how humans interact with their environment outside of civilization.
Creatures are meant to react, and it might actually genuinely be part of the EA jank that it's not as consistent as it should be, but outside of something like a hammerhead even the bigger mangos should be dissauded slightly
Similarly the flashlights are not as effective as some devs have suggested they should be
Is there a feedback page or something>
So with regards to the game causing crashes and shut downs. I have just gone through the settings to cap the FPS (pc native is 144 hz) and as soon as I run the game my Fans go to 100% and the GPU starts getting hot immediately and that's during load up and menu screen. WTAF is causing this because the game settings are set as Medium by default. I closed the game and ran 7 days to die and red dead and my fans didn't even need to get to 50% and no issues with over heating.
Is the world randomly generated everytime you join a game or is it the same layouts

It is definitely not behind the red wall
i also feel like if for some reason you dont want to defend yourself against the fish if the killing was implemented, you could just, not make the tools?
also we literally just pick up fish and either make them die from lack of water or cooking them hopefully not alive, we already kill things, just let us defend ourselves and if for some reason you dont want to dont
How do I shrink the room when it's too big? For some reason when I try to shrink the room it wont let me
thats not the point lmao
They can make some things not killable. The Leviathans in this game are all huge. So huge that unless you have a stasis rifle which they're never adding back and stabbed it for an hour they wouldn't die. They can make some smaller enemies have armor if they don't want you to be able to kill them. But not being able to do anything and the collision not even registering just doesn't feel right.

Quite a beast, huh. I managed to bait him into being obsessed with my tadpole and then got him scanned without me or my tadpole dying. Quite a scary experience
But yeah I do think there should be Sonic Defense Systems for bases. Like, speakers that you can set up that deter aggressive/defensive creatures up to a certain range from gathering at your base.
Troilite is currently only found in the ||metal farms area|| it’s easy to softlock if you use it all up and don’t save any for your own ||metal farms||
A survival-multitool-hatchet that can break apart rocks should definitely be more lethal than a dinky little knife. I'm sorry, but the only thing I get from this aspect of the game, is a political stance being lorded over good game design... That's not a good look.
am i softlocked? i used all my troilite. I would REALLY!!!!!!!! like an answer please!
is the troilite a limited resource?
"a PoLitIcaL StAnce" ALL ART IS POLITICAL
im on xbox app on pc, and its also a multiplayer game, i manual saved and then like 30 mins later pressed save and exit, can i go back to the manual save on xbox app on pc?
yello
Just get clever about it, some of the creatures are easily distracted with flares and lights
Sounds like you did indeed solflock unless you can roll back to a previous save
gotcha, so no need to leave red area yet? until game is done?
so basically just speakers playing the Pina Colada song
I think we should be able to damage small fish and maybe even damage the larger ones, but killing a leviathan would be unrealistic and even the ones that try to eat you would need a lot of damage.
You are a monkey in the water with an advanced human brain and human technology.
The consequences of killing animals that bite you are that they no longer bite you.
Killing creatures is and has been a part of humanity since the dawn of humanity regardless of how you feel in the current day.
We wouldn't be here today if that weren't the case.
does anyone know how to get || the depth module 2? || i saw a video of a guy that had it

LITERALLY THIS. Giving you active combat tools literally breaks the continuity of the world building.
This game is so peak
I found some dupe glitch in a coop world and spent the entire time making a continental power line system around the ocean. And also made a pathway across the collector leviathan.
i wish i could get a better laptop so i could run subnautica 2
Collisions should definitely give the same or stronger kind of effect as the hammer bonk depending on velocity, though at the cost of tadpole durability
The red area is the world border for whats currently available. You can go past it. But it is. Not pleasant
So my teenager was going on about needing permission to stream the game, and it's in the T's and C's
<@&85343211593166848> making inappropriate comments
Is anyone else having trouble finding the sign blue print? My friend and I searched EVERYWHERE for it and it is no where to be found. It says that it comes with the habitat builder but it isn't there. Can someone help?
i beat subnautica 1 without ever using flairs i have no idea what they do, and i refuse to use them
anyone also having trouble finding silver?
YO, I just had a crazy thought. What if somewhere down the story NoA resets us as well and that leaves us with 2 options,
- Collect all blueprints and data again
- Find your blacbox to retrive your memories aka blueprints and logs
does anyone know if there are plans to increase hostile creature damage
Ty
The shiver leviathan is such a good design, I hope it goes in other areas of the maps other than the void
I don't get how it's a political stance that the game about exploration doesn't want you to focus on killing things...? The only thing I'd say is the Resonator should allow you to push predators away and stun them.
Game is in early access I'm sure they'll tweak stuff here and there
And as a result we have mass hunted many species into extinction.
"why cant we have weapons, i want to defend myself"
"i refuse to use the self defense tools avaliable to me"
nah this game is kinda crazy for this. Like amazing up to this point, but this is actually enough to make me really upset. I think I will have to completely restart. Being able to softlock yourself from a limited resource is actually wild. I have 15 hours on this save. This really blows.
is there an ultra high capacity tank in sn2? and if so where would one find such blueprint?
any tips for getting past collector leviathan i wanna get the scanner upgrade
None of the predators except the two leviathans are worth defending yourself against. They're just incredibly annoying, and there's no way to politely tell them to permanently leave you alone, which is why people want to kill them. If you don't want people to kill the annoying fish, you need to give them a way to permanently deal with the problem.
Flares are dumb, didn't use them in the last two games, not gonna use them in this one, they're an inventory and crafting soak that doesn't permanently solve the problem at hand. There are plenty of tools that could solve the problem - the Seamoth zapper from the previous games is a great example, don't care whether the boneshark dies, really care if it keeps annoying me. Don't care if the reaper dies, really care if it keeps eating my seamoths. Zappy makes the problem go away, player happy.
There is no tool to make the annoying things go away. Player sad. Killing the annoying thing makes it go away. Player would be happy. Player wants tool to kill the annoying thing.
Just give the player a tool to make the annoying thing go away.
Are the printed humans still organic in any way? Like I know they still need food and water but would they be able to reproduce? On the off chance that ||Your character isn’t actually the last human in the universe||
Look, I'm sure the devs are taking on board feedback about the current evasion methods being a bit finnicky and unreliable and needing solutions. That said, they've always taken a strong stance against violence as a solution and won't implement creature killing for your entertainment. This is not that kind of game. Plenty of those kinds of games exist if that's the experience you're looking for.
Ty Shadow!
Weapons were removed from standard survival blueprints following the massacre on Obraxis Prime. The knife remains the only exception.
After more insight, the knife had been removed and replaced with a multitool so that people don't kill each other.
The first game allowed creatures to be killed, it was never the focus
Can someone help me? I cant shrink a wall even though it has no attachments
I'd also say running into some fish with the Tadpole should stun them for a bit, before they swim away from you
How far down do the void barriers go? Does the map either keep extending out to the barriers everywhere or does it slip down into the void without crossing the barriers at some point?
I doubt anyone's explored that far to the edges to test the boundaries but if anyone has I'd appreciate info
So far I got from the lifepod:
West Border: 345 meters
North Border: 555 meters
South Border: 450 meters
East Border: 2,265 meters
Yet to figure out the depth limits for the void to trigger
“All art is political” means there are philosophical messages in every piece of art because it’s created by someone with a particular perspective and experience and conveys an aspect of human existence with philosophical implications. It doesn’t mean people wanting to play a fun game should be forced to not be able to kill fish in a survival game where they eat fish.
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
hello
starter silver is about 300m away from the pod so depending on where you set up / scanner it can be bothersome to find at the start. The late game zone is abundant
It does do that
Then why did fish in the first game have HP in the first game?
i cant play the game its launching super zoomed in on the left corner and i cant window it
Plus there was a ban on many of the weapons after the rebellion, makes me think, what kind of guns does alterra print when it is permitted?
Realism
bro why are nipples EVERYWHERE i just wanna build my base in peace
The idea of someone who believes in dei playing subnautica, notable anti-corporate woke as heck game, is really funny to me.
Stasis
<@&85343211593166848> we got a racist in here
so theres no method of killing creatures in the game? like is the flare the only way to avoid attacks?
Muted alr
The red walls always hit the ground at some point, so they don't go infinitely down like the void in SN1 yet.
Are their more comments by them?
"i dont like being annoyed every time i leave my base because i want to have fun"
"waste a bunch of resources and inventory space every single time you leave the base, and then have to be annoyed by it anyway"
what do i do if i cant find anymore Troilite in the green pools? I need it for the fan repairs
You can disagree with people but keep it civil people
why are my pda's muted (blackboxes, pda entry's etc)
I'm not saying don't give them HP. I'm saying the bigger the fish the less likely I want to spend 20 hours killing a leviathan with what my character would canonically have.
i say with the adaptations and the right passive and active skill setup there are other ways to play the game without the need to kill. part of the challenge is to figure out how to get a thing or solve a puzzle while not starving or choking. the ways to kills things rob some of the games best elements.
is the Titan class Tree a filter feeder? Because how else would there be waterfalls on it unless that was the excess water it took in, and then the waterfalls are the result of that excess water
do u guys know around when the game would geta discount
You probably have to make it
anyone need help
Im actually gonna have to restart my whole save... dude.... I'm, genuinely gutted. I just made a whole huge base and stuff...
Does anyone else have issues with lighting on the steam deck
Instead of release price
They gosh darn made my fish game woke!!! 😡😡 (satire)
Usd?
do conduit crystals respawn? only found 2 and they didn't respawn
Rain?
Wu blackbox bug solved?
I believe that part to be fantastic game design, you're not supposed to feel like a predator, you're meant to feel like you've fallen off of a boat in the middle of the atlantic ocean and flailing around to stay above water. Atleast that's what I think
Thanks! I found it but those stupid needle things keep annoying me
does anyone know where the modifcation stations are at ive only found one
Guys, how i find the ||collector leviathan|| so i can be save and not enter that zone
do i have to go through ||shiver leviathan|| territory to get to ||zip 2|| or is there a way around
Thank god. That was something I hated about subnautica 1, it made finding the void nearly lethal. BZ was slightly better about it at least but still stressful being near the edge because of the experience of SN1
Where can i see whats going to be the next updates?
Unacceptable
Anyone wanna team up

Ton of them on the cliff faces by the power plant
SAME!! I have the same issue rn, does anyone know a fix?
My personal theory is that ||It's a lifeform that uses naturally occurring uranium and nuclear reactions as it's fuel ||
you gotta go 1000m west
dude, you're playing in the first week of a two-year early access release. This save always had an expiration date.
is there a size limit for the effect? Like it felt like it didn't do much against the Twin sitaray
The flares, some of the biomods, going a different route
games unplayable
you gotta enter that zone eventually
Hi is it the ||scout ray chassis that’s fastest?||
No but keep looking around, there's quite a few nodes. Just suffering the classic conundrum of Subnautica atm: The resource you need seemingly being nonexistent.
Okay. So I agree that small fish should die. But subnautica not giving the player a weapon that can kill things effectively was an intentional choice from the very first game. I think they went a bit too far with it from a gameplay perspective this time (let me hunt halfmoons), but allowing the player to go gung-ho and kill all the monsters they see without trouble would go against the game's core principles. In subnautica 1 it was tedious and unrewarding, and in this game it's impossible. Simple as that.
I actually like playing a survival game where i dont feel like a colonizer
waht graphic settings yall run
ty <3. Don't think they sent any more. Woulda said so sooner but the slow timer is getting real long
where does one find the blueprint for wall rack
Well I guess instead of the shivers insta-killing you, there could be hard boundaries instead.
People are never happy no matter what
Only method is to avoid creatures via dodging, tricking, or hiding from them. Thankfully this game gives us plenty of tools to use to our advantage to do so.
max 1440p dlss quality
well i feel like in the first game it made sense. i dont see anything wrong with stabbing a stalker with a knife. as long as the creatures in this game are all dangerous enough where it wouldnt make sense to use weapons
Fleeing, flares, outrunning, sonic, waiting until it's elsewhere, focused on smth else, baiting an attack and maneuvering etc
I tried just shaking my mouse left and right until the game bugged enough for me to shrink a small portion of the wall which worked
how?
"Don't want you to focus on violence" and "Unfairly preventing all forms of it" are two very different things. The repulsor cannon in SN1 would be like your version of the resonator. It would need to be hella effective to be able to deter bigger predators, so it would launch smaller critters into the shadow-zone.
@hazy whale (slopwmode) So what? My point still stands. People could definitely still kill each other with that thing. All you need is a stick. And that stick has a built-in hatchet. Super lethal... except it magically isn't. lol
As someone that put 18 hours into it and completed all of the content thus far, not entirely sure what you mean
Is it possible to get fiber near the ||tower||?
Like how Kaijus work in the monster verse?
Have you tried scanning the things in that area?
Dose the bacteria respawn or is there a way to get more then just 5
Oh I think it will very much be the same in this game too, the only thing keeping people from dying is the big red wall denoting the void and the music that plays to warn the player about a leviathan nearby (which I hope they rework because it kinda kills the scare factor a lil bit)
do u think it will go below 30 or probably not
dont be rude and act like this isnt something to be upset about. Minimizing my issues just because no one agrees with you about killing aint the vibe, dude. Do something else.
What that their only message or was it more @old bloom
Where is lead at? I havent been able to find any
is there anywhere I send images of funny bugs people can laugh at
Sorry random shadow lmao

i don't know if i believe you, muse of the malformed rectum
wth kinda resource are you collecting 100% of from the entire map bruh. If you're running out of anything in 15h you may need to practice more resource management unless it's some BS
I actually got a scan of the shiver leviathan and its so awesome
It will not
the|| alien ruin|| base has some fiber plants on its roof
I got random little portions shrunk but I can't get rid of the room still
any tips for getting past the collector that borders the graveyard and ruins?
subnautica below 30, coming summer, 2060
I donno, if you wanted to play a game about killing things by the same devs you could just go play Natural selection 2. The shotgun and grenade launchers are fun to use shrugs
There’s a deep crevasse with currents that has a lot of large lead nodes and some small breakable ones too, not too far from where the big crabs are (sorry, I don’t have coordinates on me)
Just finished the game and most shouldn't be disappointed by the ending, for a game that it's in early access it was a great wrap up for starting off the story. There are a few bugs but nothing game breaking mainly just minor inconveniences. For what the game has worth every penny and if someone hasn't bought it yet, I suggest you do.
I think it's a much more grounded take on it, there will probably be a more detailed explanation of how it turns the thermal energy and byproducts into fuel once we actually reach the tree.
there's always enough trolite twin just look harder
you should have enough if you're looking in the right area
I don’t see what’s wrong with tedious and unrewarding. Nobody is forced to play the game violently if they don’t want to. It’s already disincentivized enough. There are other levers to pull if the devs don’t think so though, if thermoblade charge went down and could no longer cook fish if you used it too much that makes it even less rewarding, it becomes actively harmful to go around killing things
Ok I have a problem, I'm stuck in my tadpole in the dock at my base. but I'm not fully docked? just under the water a bit and the tadpole is rotated weirdly. I can't get out of the tadpole, I can't even move it apart from rotating it around. I tried waiting for death but I respawned exactly wherev I was instead of my lifepod. Any help?!??!! I might have lost my save forever!
Again, the player character is a pioneer, a group of ecological scientists. I doubt they would attack fish, and so it's not in the game.
i wasnt reading what i was supposed to do after i collected the black box for wonder, am i supposed to get the heat tolerance adaptation?
how do i get more passive slots?
Looking for people to play with, hit the DMs.
Not currently available
i have the metal thing but i couldnt figure out how to work it plus now all of my troilite has been turned into Mangalloy Ingots and i have no raw troilite left
What does laying down do? If anything
click the beds
You gotta get it from one of those adaptation flower thingies.
how much fps u get
Ohhh I never noticed that, thank you!
It is not about attacking fish it’s about defending yourself, which is an inherent human instinct
passive slots come from the bio beds
does this game have dedicated servers?
around 90-100 ish im on a 5090 and 9950x3d tho so
thern why am i getting mixed messages? I'm getting like 5 different reports of respawning, not spawning, other areas, no other areas, theres only 8 but maybe theres 10 or 12 idk man
I just bought the game, How do I clim Leviethan statue
Also ||I LOVE how the collector is drawn to bright lights and its curious and hungry||
Honestly, I feel like giving the players the freedom to do it is better than outright denying it, though it should be disincentivized as much as possible to promote surviving instead.
So I crafted somethin while I had a full inventory, but now I think it got voided because I only used items that weren't in my inventory at the time
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
When I was playing I did imagine this would be an incredibly easy way for people to softlock themselves. My only advice would be to look really hard for more
Fair enough, I just think that the ||amount of water coming from the top of it would correlate to it being a filter feeder, pushing out all the excess water that doesnt have any more nutrients. and the huge scales underwater could be like tree roots, so it could honestly be both||
I got the same thing. going to the main menu fixed it for me.
I do wonder when they'll give us powersuits
I just like how they have the walls period, because my anxiety spikes not knowing when the developer's code is under my feet or nonexistent.
At least with other games with 3d movement (ex no man's sky) no matter how far you go you always knew the coding never ended and got you killed.
Having a consistent "DON'T GO HERE, END OF MAP" sign is vital to allow some people to play without them having so much anxiety that they never leave the spawn. I almost got stuck in that loop until I realized I could use creative mode to find the borders without risking anything
does the ||collector leviathan throw anyone else deep into the void or does it just hate me||
just make noa call you a stupid stinky murder hobo if you kill too many fish, trust me
edit: didn't mean to reply my bad
You're having two completely different conversations. People are asking for the ability to mass slaughter fish. I do think the multitool should deter predators slightly and have a bit more of a thunk, but it shouldn't deal actual damage.
I didn't touch any setting, launched default right into the game on a 3060. Game has been +60 FPS on a 2k monitor. Most optimized UE5 early access game I seen outside when they moved satisfactory from UE4 to UE5
does the ||shiver leviathan|| have a minimum depth? like, can i avoid it by traveling at the surface like with the ||collector||
Could you tell me what is the zone? 🥺
am i the only one who thinks that the not killing stuff is a good thing? i feel a lot more like im at the mercy of the ecosystem and the immersion is a lot better i think
I tried that multiple times. no good. unstuck button doesn't work either
thats quite unfortunate for me isnt it then, do u think the devs will fix this or am i just screwed on this save?
if you guys want the "oh no you cant kill anything thats bad and against the whole point!" route then just let that be part of the game, if you want killing fish to be bad, make it have an impact, make it for the bad ending or something,
also no people arent asking to mass slaughter fish, i just dont want to be haranged by the same stupid fish everytime i leave my base
Is there a way to submit feedback without using the "give feedback" menu option?
its between the ||alien ruins and hot zone||
subnautica 2 stuck on running and when I press stop its stuck on stopping?
I have loved subnautica as a series for years and have 300+ hours across zero and 1 but after 6 hours of 2 i can safely say the decision to remove the ability to defend yourself and hunt fish in a Survival game is extremely unrealistic this is not a question on morality or ethics it is a matter of gameplay and the genre. You shouldn’t be punished by hammerheads the who camp under your moonpool constantly never leaving and then be told that you should try to coexist with the creature. If coyotes are attacking my dog for example irl i will absolutely defend my dog from harm being a passifist does not equal being defenseless.
wheres the blueprint for the roof pumps, roof panel, roof cylinder, rug, and sign
Can someone please point me towards the Biomod scanner!!
Ecological scientists have at the very least the foresight to not go where they will get eaten, and if they absolutely have to, they'd bring enough drugs and guns to shoot said drugs with to sleep all the animals that would want to eat them. So no. Still doesn't work.
Also, pioneers/explorers, especially those who expect hostile fauna, would most DEFINITELY bring guns.
The problem here is, that the game feels unfair and unreal, because critters in a survival game don't die. The suspension of disbelief goes right out the window! It's a bad game design choice.
I agree, but I have yet to see a single combat defender say they wanted to kill the leviathans with a knife.
Everyone I have seen just wants to kill the small annoying stuff near the bases, or in self defense; including myself.
Most of us are also fine with leviathans being completely immune.
People are jumping straight from, wanting to kill local small to medium aggressive fauna to "YoU wErE nEvEr MeAnT tO kIlL lEvIaThAnS!"
It is frankly an exhausting argument and its a huge leap of logic.
I have made 8 ingots, I know people can make 10. I have heard that there is 12. I literally have NO CLUE
about the tadpole getting stuck in the moonpool, in a multiplayer game when someone logs into or out of your server can cause the tadpole to shift up or down causing it to get stuck in a static or clip stick into something else like a habbitat leg or corner
how can me and a friend share a server so that we can play without both of us being online?
Fair enough, but I think the intended way for the void to be is gonna be similar to the first two games where your PDA notifies you that you've gona outta bounds and then you gotta run before the leviathan gets ya
hey did they fix the perspective so you can see actual leviathan size
I think ||It's probably only possible for it to live using a bunch of different methods of gathering nutrients from an entire self contained ecosystem that makes up the tree, but I think the core to allowing it to reach that scale is the energy density of nuclear power and that the titan rockbore roots possibly brought it as much trace material as possible to fuel it's core reactions||
anyone with a mic wanna start a new game together? 18+ please
gotta love games with forced waiting, one day my ||metal farms|| will be finished
This is placebo as you go to hit anything in the world and nothing reacts, also the smaller fish instead of getting knocked out of the way of the tadpole move it and act as if they are terrain or one of the larger fish.
Dang there's Already 88 mods for the game on mexus
yeah, that was a massive saving factor, it helped me know what the void looked like and when I crossed a boundary
What does laying down do? If anything
I think everyone wants better deterrents and the ability to keep annoying fish away from their base. I don’t think that’s all that controversial
why do parts of your base just refuse to shrink
No guns or sedative darts. The massacre on Obraxis prime bans it. Did people not play the first game?
Oh... I got my friend to deconstruct the tadpole extension and then rejoining the game
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
you all seem to just be mad you cant deter the fish. you dont need to kill them to deter them
the mechanic doesnt work right now. suck it up. its early access
I’m mad that I can’t kill them
The big with killing bigger threats in Subnautica is it's so deincintivized that it might as well not be an option
It's really something that only benefited the people who wanted to kill those creatures
And given Subnautica 2 is continuing that trend, the development time that would be spent making those creatures killable could be better spend on other methods of deterrent
I do agree with making like the small fish you hunt for food killable, but there's really not much of a reason to make anything bigger killable
Over 2000 hrs in SN1 (lost track for BZ) there never was any need to kill, especially leviathans.
Again, just an opinion. But one the devs share.
I do think there are some balancing things that can be addressed, but come on, the game just came out barely 2 days ago. Give the early access process a chance.
anyone knows how to stack rooms?
I just want a better detterent for the damn sitaray, and for it to be nerfed. Lil bugger is so overtuned imo, whilst nearly everything else is undertuned, more just a nuisance
where in the world are people finding this many spawns naturally, because i am SEARCHING and I cannot find it
just add dexter morgan no? easier
Hey has anyone solved the limited water resource??
Data mining suggests otherwise and the void might be something we actively explore
Did y'all know you can go to the planet and the space like background in the sky
it could be cool if because weapons were banned and stuff you have to look for a black box or something because one of the pioneers made weapons and the noa reset them or something

Is anyone able to help with this bug? It's preventing me from making a base.
When my friend got in the tadpole after I added the wing chassis when he moved it, it goes down so by pressing space bar and looking upwards we were able to fly hundreds of meters in the air since it goes really fast
Mod developers didn't have to deal with Krafton ong 🙏
trust me, im right there with you. My last 2 hours on this save has just been scouring this one area. I'm kinda sick of this game's "scan textures for bumps" gameplay loop
what do you mean by "having the developers code under my feet"
Base building needs slopped corridor pieces IMHO we need ramps that go up and down / \
finished the EA story today, cannot wait for the full game! now to build massive bases all over until then, thanks devs!!
Also, again, the base thing should be really simple. They should add a sonic deterrent system as a base building thing that sends out audio frequencies that deter fish that would harm the base.
Relevant message #subnautica-2-chat message
I wish we had a build camera like NMS, that would be really sweet
Is there only one collector leviathan?
i literally just want a thermoblade equivalent to cook fish while i'm far from home. i dont want to stuff my pockets with nutrient blocks just to not starve to death on long outings 😭
My character became one with the fish (figuratively) and now I have unlimited O2
Levis sure, but everything midsize should be possible but unrewarding. I do like the idea that leviathans are unkillable cosmic horrors, but something around the size of the PC should be killable with some effort, if for no other reason than a last resort if you get backed into a corner
Is there a water filtration system?
Makes sense, it's a nasty piece of work for no reason 😭
how do i stack bases on the game?
for mid to late game a habitat elevator would be sweet
Day 3 progress: Expanded my base, made the tadpole, found another adaptation to get heat resistant, found the repair tool, explored the heat area and found lithium and gold and also saw a glimpse of the levithans (it looked cool) then I ran away
im working on 100%ing my survival world as far as I can before the next story update, does anyone have any recomendations of things I should get/stockup on/build/do?
I kept shocking it to give it a taste of its own medicine
There’s an important area toward the end called metal farms and it has a super helpful hint in the NAME. I’d pull out that hand scanner if I were you guys.
A little portable cooker would be fun! Or stack them over the heat vents
What is it?
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
This exactly.
When it is kill or be killed, eat or be eaten, all "morality" about ecosystems go out the window.
You would gain a will to survive.
No one is asking to extinct species (which the scientists WOULD be against.
But scientists being attacked aren't gunna just lie down and become food "because its good for nature I guess;" just because they are ecologists lmao 🤣 . They would fight the predator like their life depended on it. And if it is int heir new home, that would involve killing that specific creature (not its entire species where people will now INSTANTLY jump to in their minds).
When my friend got in the tadpole after I added the wing chassis when he moved it, it goes down so by pressing space bar and looking upwards we were able to fly hundreds of meters in the air since it goes really fast
Is there any Fishtank kind of thing
No, your most renewable source or water is growing plants for fibrous pulp, then crafting that into water
I can't wait to get new base pieces. The rooms can be so big but feel so empty. I would love to see appliances like in Below Zero and maybe a few extras. I really want more decorations and furniture I'm already having so much fun.
I'll dm so we don't have to deal with slowmode if thats ok
like I dont know wtf that is. Dont be condescending. Especially when its on nonexistant grounds. Weirdo behavior.
I’m sorry but did you read any of the story the game presented to you
There's 3 Collectors two in the sparce area (far apart from each other,) and 1 at the metal farms.

oh man they reacted to you with a clown emoji, i guess your argument is invalidated...sorry
Yeah they got me there 😔
I’m hoping that we’ll be able to make clutter. I’d use mods in the first game to make test tubes and such; I need to fill my base with random junk
excactly, ||the story and logs specifically state how this ecosystem is dying and hanging on by a thread ||
fr, it's a freakin survival game, you're supposed to be able to kill crap to stay alive, like with literally almost every other game where you can die
Anyone saying you shouldn't be able to kill things are just weirdos imo.
It should definitely be balanced better than the previous games where you could just swing a tiny blade at a mountain of a creature until it died tho
@burnt kelp Knowing when you're in the map vs when you're in an undeveloped area of physics. Which is exactly what the void is, just a bottomless pit with nothing other than the water providing swimming physics. It creates anxiety for some people not knowing where the safe boundaries are in video games. It's not the good anxiety either, like the kind that comes from gameplay tension, but rather one that locks you in place and tells you to turn back while also conflicting with "BUT WHAT IF THERE'S SOMETHING DOWN THERE" screaming in the back of your mind, and the combo drives me insane
even story and muh themes aside, not being able to fight back against predators is just genuinely unfun and a chore, having to leave the tadpole every 2 seconds to repair it or just use 5 medkits its just repetitive and annoying
im sure it will be just like before. A fix all the priority bugs. B finish the games main content. C polish
I don't even think the stalker was as bad as the sitaray lmao, and would at least disappear after a good smack as if telling off a naughty kid. Def overtuned. The only fish I find balanced is the bullethead. Clearly meant to be death from a thousand cuts and clearly can do just that, funny but annoying as heck
the lore is highkey peak👀
I don’t think you should be able to kill things
One thing about the environment that is expressed by the story is that even the subsistence fishing we do is pushing the environment closer to collapse, like it's literally all on a knife's edge ||Like the whole section of the planet is dying because the world tree is dying and it's essential to the ecology of the entire system||
can someone help, im stuck. its telling me to ||investigate tadpole pens but i need a code, and it hasnt told me where to find the code at all. am i supposed to have a "blackbox zip" icon or something?|| what do i do
I did. Which part are you talking about? The fact that I can "respawn as a clone?" Because depending on how you view cloning, I effectively die and someone else takes over with my thoughts and past.
I as a person would ABSOLUITELY still fight for my individual survival. Also to avoid pain.
If that isn't what you are referring to please let me know.
guys what are important fragments to get while at ||metal farm area||
Bro how are you supposed to scan the void leviathan
Is there any fishtank or alein containment in subnautica 2
why cant I access or download the Ruby Tadpole OPS Guide? is it a bug rn?
It’s just a little odd seeing as we’re part of a colony ship and a small group of humans left in the universe. Valuing our lives so little when there is evidence of the AI in charge of reprinting being unreliable.
"Kill or be killed" and "eat or be eaten" doesn't have much of an impact when you can just print a new body when you die, thus making you immortal. Heck, the NoA literally tells you to die on purpose just to feed the ecosystem.
Hey so I'm stuck in my tadpole and have to get someone to join my game and deconstruct it's attachment that's casuing the bug, otherwise I've lost this save forever. can anyone quickly join my game to help?
oh thats what you mean, you just worded it in a way that i didnt really understand mb
i think some of that fear is intended when it comes to the void imo
You dont sound like a good company hire me personally im dying for the scan
You mean to tell us, that the game makers who want you to lie down and die because it's good for nature, will write the scientists in their story to do that? What are the odds!
i feel like people still have an urge to not die
fight or flight? "ow death is painful"? something?
mickey 17 vibes
Then you’d make use of the metal farm instead of searching for nonexistent nodes when you know certain resource spawns are finite.
am i missing something? ||or the modification for the collector leviathan just completely mid?||
Have you tried using unstuck
Hey how do I fix my game
Does anyone know how many collector leviathans there are?
Unless it’d changed, unstuck doesn’t work inside vehicles
the fact that the entire ecosystem is hanging on by a thread and dying maybe?
"yeah just die and then have a copy of you run around instead" you still die, thats a different person now
edit: the reason the ai tells you to just clone is probably because it doesnt understand having a soul so it doesnt know the difference
yeah, you are just a mean person who wishes to misinterpret people intentionally in order to feel superior. I hope you become a better quality human being in the future.
The similarities are legally concerning
Ugh the sitarays are so annoying, they do so much damage to the tadpole 😭
2 at least, but pretty sure there's a 3rd
I’m referring to ||the Jubilee group and people like Zip/Anita I think, who did at the roots to feed the tree and whatnot. || The enemy on this planet is obviously the planet itself, that’s what everyone is fighting against. The metal, the virus, Masefield, all of that is the real enemy. The other times the Pioneers die is truly inconsequential.
Dude I hate the fact that I can’t kill the stupid Twin Sitarays 💔
I agree this is supposed to be a game in which you must survive with limited options. Either you swim with the current or against it. You have to learn about how to balance your wants and needs. This game is scary (in a good way) because you actually have to learn how to live with it and work around threats. It wouldn't be scary if you just killed every thing.
some of it is, yes, but with the first 2 games it at least made sure you were more aware of it, with this game there wasn't any notification, you're just suddenly right at boundary when you hit the red walls, and I like staying nice and far away from the edges of the map unless I HAVE to go there. That made the first 2 games much easier to enjoy right off the bat. But this one doesn't even have a pda warning yet
what i cant put my rooms one above other?
TBF, it's not as if death is completely free of consequence in this game; you still lose some of whatever items you gathered on your trip. Potentially even more if you took a sub ended up stranded/destroyed in the process of your death.
Yeah and you have the option to say NO. Almost because it too has consequences for you. Have you ever seen SOMA? Because how that deals with clones/copies is exactly how I imagine it. Someone else can live on with my memories sure, but I will work at every turn and with every breath to keep me me.
(hey I know this is offtopic and also kinda spoilery) ||do not go off the edge||
the collector is the most boring and unfun creature in the whole game change my mind.
even if you have infinite lives, thats not gonna override your inherent survival instincts i think
kinda hard to make your brain be okay with dying y'know?
So what I did was wait for it to get close to me and like 100 meters down and then use the air bladder and what this does is make it so the leviathan won’t attack you for a good 10 seconds giving you a window to scan them so repeat this until the scan is fully completed since it compiles and you’re good

People seem unfazed by the idea of being killed and reprinted. It's only when they're unable to reprint that they get desperate. Could just be that they're just fine with it since it's what they signed up for.
Sitarays are really mean😭
alguien español?
wooo sub 2
ahh alr ty
Graphics team slayyy
can someone help me rq?
And yet we can’t even kill the parasites which are in part responsible for that without having to tank their hits as you destroy the bloom cankers
yep. did nothing no matter how many times i used it. I really need someone here to join and deconstruct it.
Anyone know what’s past the orange wall? I passed through there a little and didn’t see anything
||The metal farm shuts down my base; I have plenty of power.||
The story was ambiguous. The other side was saying that the jubilee group went insane. You took a side and called it cannon. Big nono.
anyone got a good early game base spot
Sorry, English only, we can’t moderate other languages
Is there any point to using any other modification other than the dash, using the dash with air bladder just makes it so much better than all the other ones.
not to mention that, yk, dying hurts
It does
its literally shown in the game that the pioneers dont feel the need to actively prevent death
they understand they will just be reprinted
Have you tried blasting them with the sonic resonator?
uhhh
So Im kinda concerned
I played for a few hours and then I read the reviews, and most mentioned the EULA.
The thing that Im worried about above all is the "don't break social norms" clause
I am trans, that could be seen as not following social norms. Am I at risk of losing my game?'
||east of lifepod, bordering the hot area zone||
this whole allow killing vs disallow killing debate makes me think the devs should just make an item that can incapacitate/knock out enemies for a while before they wake back up or smth
Friends not included? You can look for group in our forums or post you're looking here: #1504382464934547466!
i may be wrong but we can kill them? the game tells you with the sonic resonator??
I found that out late that you can do that and it's been a blast (pun intended)
wat else do i do after || finding out the distance between proteus and earth ||
all i found there was 3 copper wire and 1 scan for a bioscanner
Exactly this btw. Your memory is downloaded to a databank, so sure, every reprint is technically "you". But it's also not. When your body/brain dies, you die, and the next reprint takes your place. You no longer exist. And that is honestly more horrifying imo
Adding killing to the game just to have it make your ending worse if you kill too much is a horrible idea. People are gonna kill too much for convenience or ego anyways, and then have a bad ending shoved into their way and then complain about it. Players will always optimize the fun out of their games if given the chance.
Moreso, if they add killing, then they will also likely add respawning into the game for creatures other than leviathans and such to avoid all the fish being killed in the first place. So even with this making bases in dangerous areas won't work well. Y'all just need to accept that if you want to build a base right under the fins of a marrowbreach or smth then you'll have to deal with it harassing you when you're around.
What players want from adding killing weapons to the game aside from being able to clear fish from an area is to fend off fish that are attacking you. Oh wait, there's already multiple deterrents like that in-game, the sonic resonator, flares, numerous biomodifications to distract/hide from predators, etc.
The game is more well thought out than many of you give it credit for. I simply ask that we try out all it has first before yearning for more.
is there silver anywhere near the alien ruins? need a moonpool to finish my temp base over here
"so anyway I started blasting"
That EULA isn't legally binding under US law
Has anyone else had unlimited air after using the rebreather??
is there any news to a new update or is it gonna be a minute?
I mean I can't speak to any legal verbiage but there's multiple queer and trans members of the dev / mod team. I can't imagine it would be a real issue.
Start an entire new civilization 💔
You said you spent two hours scouring an area for resources and you’re having a hard time, there is a blueprint in the game provided to you that alleviates your issue. What about what you said did I misinterpret?
You can get an electric defense system mod that replaces the dash. It's pretty good, but it's late game.
Most of the Eula is there to cover krafton if they get into trouble, they don’t have much hope of enforcing any of it either
nor EU law, from what I have heard
Can they please make it so we can either kill animals or so? They have a less aggro and they will leave us alone because if there was a hammerhead and it finds you tadpole inside your moon pool, it will attack your base and it will never leave.
They did its called the sonicemitter
yeah and howd that work out for them?
isn't it literally mentioned the biobeds stopped reprinting them at a certain point
I truly want something to atleast knock them out, I think it’s hypocritical the game is literally telling us to off ourselves and yet we can’t kill creatures, yes it may break the immersion but I’d love to not have nibbler mango’s up me all the time
Also, I imagine that part of the EULA is unenforceable anyways
||i got the turbine repaired, axum vision, currently looking at the screens in the control room and totally confused|| help pls
Yall I think we need a modification from biolab or something for bigger inventory cause its like 3 sonic resonator outcrops and then its full if you already have tools and batteries in
So I'm still getting that crash at launch guys I saw a patch a little while ago it did nothing
is us doing no damage to fish intentional?? ive been reporting it as a bug because it felt really off. lmfao woops.
oh my god gogmazios from the hit game franchise monster hunter
Didn’t work on the ones in the alien wreck area where the cankers close up
you may have missed it, but ||in the observatory, theres an upper area that you can swim to via some tubes. it provides a lot of interesting lore||
Is it possible to softlock yourself??? I've cleared both smaller comb areas near the big one under the ||big alien structure thingy, the power plant??||. But now the bulbs right near it are closed, and I think it's because I took out the little angry things that float around them yonks ago when I first came through the area. Or am I missing a third younger comb somewhere?
I got a bug where the cankers didn’t spawn near the Wanderer black box. Am I soft locked and need to start a new run?
||so do you just keep finding blackboxes and the game progresses?||
You have to catch fish, either eat them raw or cook things at the fabricator
||No the biobeds stopped printing them because they were a hazard to the mission
they did not know that the NoA would do that though||
I also said that I used all of my troilite. The method you are recommending requires a troilite. I am searching for the apparently 3-4 nodes that I am unable to find but people claim exist. Read thoroughly before you say rude things to people.
||there should be 1/2 bp for a feedback resonator, and if you search the terrain around it (i dont jst mean directly around it but down and around) you should find a bunch of new stuff||
thats not exactly the same thing as that only makes them go away for a few seconds. im talking an item that stops them in their tracks completely and knocks them out for like 1 or 2 minutes before waking back up.
I don’t think the heavy metals destroying your body is very ambiguous. And all the other stuff is still a problem for everyone regardless because ||NoA will just reset you if you have Masefield||. They’re different approaches to the same problem, but they still have to solve it.
Have you ever seen SOMA, because thats how I interpret every clone/digital upload? It seems inconsequential because they upload their memories and other people see you as you. But that clone is a clone for a reason. It isn't you.
I personally would fight to stay alive as every version of myself. Once you die, that's it. That YOU is dead. People are merely talking to a copy of you that thinks it is you. Self preservation would still most certainly exist for me.
looking for a consistent group, dm if interested
While I’m largely enjoying it so far, I think I’ve finally put my finger on what is making it feel slightly “off” – and what made BZ feel off as well: When we crashed in SN1, there were a small number of distress calls to respond to, and then the Degasi storyline, but other than that we were alone, and the story was all about us. In BZ and now 2, we’re continuing someone else’s story (the Ayou sisters, the previous colonists). Especially with all the wrecks and debris around, it doesn’t feel like I’m going anywhere new, just where others have already been. I hope this changes in later additions, we’ll be going somewhere no-one’s gone before, and the story will be about us again.
im more worried about the apparent ban on things like autoclickers and cheating which is a bit ominous
but that is a valid concern as well
where do I look for my base hull strength, just wanna make sure it's alright before I add any windows
unfortunately it seems like its intentional, one of the devs said theyre gonna make better detterents but right now its just annoying and a chore to deal with them
None of the enemies ever attacked me enough to make me want to lose the ability to fly 100s of meters through the sky
I understand, but it seems very poorly worded, and I play numerous EA game and I KNOW how they are
There is no hull/base integrity anymore
hello, am new here
I feel like prioritizing player freedom is important, instead of removing killing completely it should be significantly disincentivized, and have repercussions.
Forcing a player to play the "correct" way can feel annoying imo, and should be promoted instead of enforced.
what is the ||biohacking|| and ||anomaly|| filters for? and do they show ALL in an area or only the unfound/unexplored ones
In our society, sure. But considering the insane levels of death and despair due to Kharaa, the horrible work safety of Alterra, and the hostile environment as a whole, it's likely that a lot of pioneers have an EXTREMELY short lifespan. The fact that you got printed in the beginning means you're already dead. At that point, why survive when you can proceed.
The predators are common and the hammerhead has eternal beef with my sub. I had it docked in my moonpool and it was just beating it
Bro my entire base dissappeared
I'll take the 3RD as there is a Third Comb XD Any general idea in what direction?? IT's not back in the ||Starting area|| is it?
where to find the second ||sonic resonator upgraded version||
NoA does mention that the second area is the last place his pioneers made it to, so it's likely future areas won't feature pioneer constructions
They tried that, and people still did it
I truly believe Subnautica 1 was a survival game Subnautica 2 honest to god feels like Mickey 17 i dont feel like im surviving
Maybe that could be an upgrade in a later update
So what?
Guys, the game says your game might not have exited properly. Anyone know when AMD or subnautica devs are gonna have a fix for the drivers?
Mods are already out for this
Does anyone know if the blackbox for Chap is bugged? I've tried to interact with it multiple times and it won't let me.
I haven’t, but I do think some of that is represented in the SN2 story. Some pioneers obviously care more than others about being reprinted, but from the players perspective I think people just don’t want to be harassed 24/7 tbh, and that’s a problem that can be solved for bases without crippling the rest of the game where you want creatures to be a continual threat that can’t be eradicated
I still miss the Peeper
Indeed. Even if the idea that "Death is Cheap" is narratively enforced, I always find that there's too many risks/problems associated with dying that I wouldn't wantonly throw my life away for the sake of it.
anyone know if there is a way to manually delete auto save data to roll back, my multiplayer lobby has one of my friends stuck at a slideshow but not on a new save
You need the 450m tadpole mod, these items are deep down, around the huge power generation thing
one of the main things i will endlessly praise sub 1 for is the isolation, your chasing ghosts the whole time and sometimes the pda will chime in, now your stuck by 'yourself' investigating aliens that have already been investigated constantly having people yap in your ear the entire time your supposed to be going "woah what the hell is this"
Oh, that explains why I can't find it, so I can add any amount of windows I want, good to know
||Can someone tell me where the Repair tool fragments are?||
all they did in SN2 was make respawns canon
you could die and respawn in SN1 as well
so how do ||metal farms work?||
like ||does it matter where i place them? how long do they take? how much can they produce?||
Have you checked #service-updates?
how to get energy storage?
Bzaright anyone made a cool subanutcia 2 base yet
unless someone else crashed before?
Explore the habitat/bases and wrecks
Hmm, I will think about this. The Degasi bases didn’t really run out until about halfway through the story. I think there are a couple more pre-visited locations we need to go before it’s “where no human has gone before”
I do think the early game is a bit cluttered
You have to swim to the tree to find the parts goodluck
i cannot believe I finally found it ;-; there are defnitely at least 10 PHEEEEWWWWWWWWW
I'm a scuba diving instructor irl, I've had people take our class bc they played subnautica so it inspired me to play it, just got Subnautica 2, about to play it for the first time

is there a mk2 depth module for the tadpole yet?
I did note that, so that’s why I’m hopeful this will be the case.
ok but what is wrong with people doing it? why does it bother people who don't want to kill things if other people do want to kill things for no reward except peace of mind? some other person killing leviathans in their game has no impact on how you play your game
You haven't addressed any of my points...
SN2 has plenty of killing each other in the story. Us being forced to never be able to, even if it makes no physical sense is just wrong.
how do you clear bloom in alien area. ive done 2 juvemilles
Tbf in the current version we end where nobody has been in 200 years 😛
That’s pioneer vs. pioneer is it not?
I think it is because the game is in early access and they haven't got to that part yet.
goes against the spirit of the game or such
i do think people getting crazy mad about it in #subnautica-chat is a bit silly tho, its a singleplayer game let them play their game how they want to
In blue sky infinite time and budget world I’d probably try to get Habitat and Camp One turned into larger set pieces further apart, and then spread out or remove a lot of the early story stuff
I feel like a very vocal minority of people went out of their way to kill leviathans, since the people who did kill them would boast about it. Just a guess, might be wrong though.
Where can I find the depth module?
Yes but narratively in Subnautica 1 that made life precious I hate noa telling me to off myself all the time and I find it extremely hypocritical to have this enforced but not allow weapons
i've seen a lot of arguments for and against being able to kill but to be honest i'm still on side kill just because i miss the convenience of the thermoblade
yummy insta-cooked peepers
iss anyone in multiplayer having desyncing issues
i got the 450m one, where abouts?
is resource respawning just now a thing right now or is there tech?
People use it to bypass important mechanics, game feel, gameplay loops, etc (the devs have covered all these points before)
||stick a material into it and it will generate said metal, depending on the material is how long the process will last, it will instantly start farming again after you collect the metal||
That one Iso voice log everyone thinks is AI probably hits too soon
If I died IRL and respawned knowingly froma machine meant to infinitely print me when I die, I would immediately understand "Oh, now there's no point in me specifically surviving at all costs. I have nothing to hold onto since I'm like 10 seconds old."
I need help with a Subnautica 2 save issue on PC (Xbox app/Game Pass). I made a manual save, then about 20-30 minutes later I did “Save & Exit,” and when I loaded back in I was at the newer/latest progress instead of the manual save I made earlier. I tried going into the WGS folder and found what looked like the older save, copied it, and put it back, but the game won’t load it properly. The issue is I also can’t start the game without internet, and when I go online it forces Xbox cloud sync and always loads the newest save anyway. I already made a backup of the older file, but is there any way to force the game to use the older local save, stop cloud sync from overwriting it, or recover the older version from the WGS folder?
I yearn for a submarine
join us? add me if you want
Has UW given a timeline for content? weeks/months? Im used to Pearl Abyss weekly updates
how many ||mini angel combs are there for the second angel comb???|| I can only find one.
is there any way to forcefully de-construct/delete a building (no refund base as it doesnt work) because there was a growbed on my base that couldn't be de-constructed so i refunded my base and it is still there floating
I think what I'm trying to find the outer nodes for the ||4th Angel Comb under the alien power plant thingy||, I've done two of them, could someone point me in the direction of the third?
Yeah, there's no mention of them killing any of the planet's life
me and my friend have beat(so far) the main story but still dont know how to get the Ultra High Capacity Air Tank in survival
dude can someone actually answer my damn question how to get energy storage
Like 3, they all spread out nearby, I did that yesterday, took a while
I don't disagree that it can be done. It most definitely can. And if they implement proper deterrents I would be satisfied.
But I do disagree that someone crash landing on a planet would never harm a thing (even those attacking them) just because of some integrity. That person has to be a literal saint to have that stance.
I also prefer it when games give me the options and let ME make that choice.
I hate when Devs dictate a singular playstyle. It is just restriction and removing options we once had.
They need to add a whole heck of a lot of more options if its te route they stick to, or the game loses a TON of charm the first one had.
This is so real, I found one blueprint for it and that’s it
consider that the potential for a life to be lived is where life finds its value. A baby is as valuable as an old person.
||look under a wreck that's nearby. you have to go in it to get there||
You can’t yet
In SN1 one of the logs has a lady hunting and killing fish in it, just sayin
When you go to your save, to the side is a “load” option and should let you pick from, at least, a manual and autosave option
i dont see how killing an enemy could do like any of that
the closest i could see is if someone were to kill the ghost in the LR or aurora reapers to make it easier which... seems like a lot of effort to go through for very minimal gain, so doesn't seem like a big problem
mainly when i see leviathans die (which seems to be the problem mainly) its either for qol, for fun, or for a challenge, none of which seem bad
knowing you're not in any real danger isn't going to make you not scared
horror movies and games scare people even if they know it's just a thing on a screen.
Thank you so much, been struggling with the same issue
blueprints
And if you think about it for more than those 10 seconds, you might realize, that you aren't going to see the next "you" that is going to be reprinted if you die, meaning the life you have is the only one you get, for your consciousness transfering can never ever be proven.
Bro who would I be saving? I already died and I'm probably going to die within an hour due to something.
Aye, in hindsight, giving the 1st game's the respawn system a narrative justification & tying it heavily into the story might have some drawbacks on the atmosphere or how the player approaches puzzles.
It goes from a life-or-death situation where decisions & routes have to be carefully planned & considered to a trial-and-error affair where you'll eventually get the right answer if you throw yourself at it enough times in slightly different ways.
"FYI, there is no lead in the water on Proteus contrary to what you've been told. I ate it all in Saturnian Sugar."
how do you know youve completed everything there is to complete
Uhh
okay, I digress into a softer topic
The game feels off to me, for one I understand that subnautica one had respawns, but canon respawns just seem to take the stakes off of the horror that was in the original
Two, I play movement shooters, if I dont get an FOV slider I will have a stroke
Three, everything feels a bit more... generic now
Maybe its because its using universal unreal shaders, or because every sci-fi survival game has followed in subnautica's footsteps, but it feels a lot less like Im playing subnautica, and a lot more like I am playing a subnautica mod for no man's sky
Is a weather system planned or is the unused PDA message of an "incoming tropical storm" a scrapped event?

I found the one under the ||wreck||, and the one thats beneath the ||alien observatory||. I'm assuming theres a third, which is why I can't destroy the nodes right next to the main adult angel comb. This is for the ||Axum Vision biomod||. Or have I softlocked myself by destroying the little creatures that protect them D:
Just mod combat back in. UW already indicated do to their political views combat was removed.
Man I hope yall aren’t data mining all my awful old drafts
how do we get more biomod spots
I gotta say, the whole sonic blaster and blasting big metal outcrops mechanic is implemented very well and it's makes material gathering very efficient
oh cool thought we were just being idiots 🤣
problem with this is, none of the saves i initially wanted to go back to pop up, its just a manual save from like 10 mins ago and a default save, i did a manual; save at 11:43 and nothing pops up for any type of save at that time
Just atleast add a weapon that stuns them devs 😭😭😭
You are welcome to search up their comments, I’m not going to rehash their positions for every single person who wants to take issue with it when I’m trying to help people with their games (which is something I volunteer to do, and understandably, more important use of my time, no offense though)
||I really wish that the biomod for scanning the collector leviathan gets buffed, rn it's so underwhelming for scanning one of the most dangerous creatures in the game 😭 ||
my point is where and how do you get them like i know that\
Where is the ultra high capacity tank blueprint?
The game tells you why you don’t have weapons, I don’t know what to tell you.
Weapons aren’t in the game because it cheapens experiences and ruins the tension. There’s a reason Charlie Cleveland made them promise to not even have torpedoes in the game
you would be saving the potential that could generate from that specific instance. Each clone varies slightly from the other. We see that in colonists being friends and then not being friends.
I think it's better to give feedback that reinforces the overall game design rather than insisting that murder is the only solution, you really can't think of other fun non-lethal tools or options they can lean into instead?
me want TREE
I know there is one somewhere, but that’s all I found
i wouldn't say political views
there are mods certainly for it

||its in a cave under the observatory area I believe, you don't have to kill the creatures||
I fixed my problem btw guys so thanks :)
I thought it was gonna be like a sonar like the cyclops, not just pinging a few resources in a small radius
I can't give you exact location because this game has no map, until the mod community fixes that. It's around the edge of the bottom of that huge power generator thing like 400m down
subnautica 2 is cool
I know, but consider the fact that you died and that you're on a highly acidic planet full of dangerous predators that are at gorilla level intelligence or higher. At that point, you sign your waiver for the next you and just try to get stuff done while you're still alive.
oh damn 🫤 sorry abt that
i mean. we have an axe. even if it's not the intended use, it's still an axe. it chops, y'know??
I agree that what we have now is a little limited but it's EA1 and we have time to fix that
And it will get cooler
Yeah, that was the only thing I could think of, I’m sorry that didn’t help
There’s a third one hidden underneath a wreck nearby the metal farms. It was really annoying to finally realize where it was. (The wreck entrance is covered by angel comb)
does ANYONE know how to fix this base shrinking bug
It boops

There is a map by ign with all blueprints recorded. I dunno if it’s accurate but it would be a bit weird for it to be fake
oh i think i missed something else entirely lol, i went there and i couldnt understand anything bc apparently i ||dont speak alien language||
The blade on the Survival tool is not suited for chopping
unless it pulls out which it doesnt really look like it does
i feel like the issue is people just want more reactivity to their actions so to speak. they dont like that the creatures dont die or even get knocked out by pure blunt force becaue it doesnt give enough feedback to the player. personally i think smaller fish should be able to die (because you literally kill them when you eat/cook them) and bigger creatures should just have a HP threshold that when depleted stuns them for a while as if they "died" for a while before waking right back up. because i genuinely dont think people want to just kill things for the sake of killing (mostly). they just want more feedback from their actions
anyone else nerd out with all these subnautica games and pencil out your own maps?
maximum immersion
im at angel comb, is it near that?
*google it, it is literally political views pertaining to issues I wont discuss here
|| is the hologram in the observatory the end of the current storyline, or do i need to do some more discovering ||
wrong reply sorry LOL
Why is the TSR framerate target limited to only 30 and 60 fps?
man, this game does NOT like my computer
I wish the processor speed gets increased a bit, right now it takes forever to make a single ingot
Ya, thats one of the two I've found
. I've done several laps trying to find other smaller outer nodes to clear so that the ones right next to the main comb open.
Theres just something so much more stylized about s1 and bz, and I liked that a lot more than the bigger and better unreal shaders because honestly... using unreal's default shaders 9/10 times makes the game look like an asset flip.
I feel like the compromise to this would be allow yourself to kill medium sized fish like nibblers/small fish, but make leviathan/bigger class fish unkillable.
some of the unused databank entries are crazy lmao
The game has a hammer. A hammer can be and has been used as a weapon.
Fish that nibble you for 5% of your life at a time and are an annoyance at best ruins the tension, not the ability to kill stuff.
I was fearful the entire time until I got my prawnsuit in 1.
I was fearful for the first few minutes of 2.
Doesn't help that it's been explicitly stated that your memories can be meddled with by NOA whenever you respawn. At that point, I'd treat that concern as a guarantee.
Yeah, giving better ways to deter creatures that aren't just killing them would be better imo than just straight up implementing killing
Sure player freedom is a thing, but it's really not worth including that freedom if the action is deincentivized to an extreme like Subnautica 1
