||you need to get an upgrade to the sonic resonator that can shoot from a distance so they dont close. one of the fragments are in an alterra ship im pretty sure and the other is in the area with green/yellow glowing puddles then you need to take out 3 of the juvenile angel combs then the main one to get the adaptation.||

Honestly I've relied HEAVILY on the ||air plants|| and was super thankful for them before I got my ||larger air tanks and the rebreather||. I'm glad they were in spots that were important to reach, but they were often hidden, or just ONE of them, so you had to still spot one to know it was there which I think kept the challenge, but also assisted if you noticed one was near. There's 0 danger, nothing can kill you. The most dangerous thing in the game is Noa and he's a text file. The only way you can die is purposefully trying to get killed. I couldn't exit nor breathe inside it, and when i tried docking it the game said insufficient space. I replied to the wrong message! I know that Proton is allowing people to play it fine on Linux, and I'm pretty sure Proton works on Mac (I'm not fully sure though!). Either way, Proton is getting pretty good, which is good news, as Windows is eh these days, and I myself miss the hell out of MacOS. I do hope SN2 gets a Mac release, Mac's can game seriously good (I did it across 3 different iMacs back in the day, using Wineskin and other porting apps!).

Subnautica has always been intended to be played as a survival game. You're supposed to be scared of the possibility of dying. In SN1 the prawn drill and knife threw that off, because they didn't anticipate people going around and killing off all the big scary fish and then getting to play with no threats, so in BZ and SN2 it's much harder to just kill stuff. This isn't them changing the entire direction of the game, they've just made it harder for players to break out of the intended gameplay loop.

Try going SW for about 200-300 meters from the base. Once you see something like a crater with holes in it, dive into the holes and explore the caves. If im not mistaken u can find 3 blackboxes there, 1 base with hints how to get the codes (they are in one of the blackboxes, in deepest part of the cave.)

Yes, the ||codes|| are on their own away from the other black boxes, but deeper into that cave where the PDA alerts you theres multiple blackboxes in that cave. IT's sort of below that. Its near one of the voice over log disc/recorder thingys. Just keeping looking, and trying to slip down further, you'll find it.

Lead: ||Can be found about 300 Meters from your life-pod north east under a shipwreck||
Quarz ||Go North west from the life-pod. Behind a fracture are corals with much Quarz on them||
Batteries: ||For batteries you need to knife the thing that gives you the healing gele right under your life-pod.||
Lucifer Rotsac: ||Can be found On top of plants, is glowing orange||
Lithium: ||Can be found in caves in the heat zone||
Gold: ||Can be found in caves in the heat zone, also occasionally on the floor||
Sulfur: ||Can be found at the "Blackbox - Zip" cave and generally in the heat biome.||
Alien Enamel: ||They're the tusks found on the rock, and those are found at the needlers nests which are Straight East from the lifepod.||
Salt: ||Can be foundin the heat zone & in rock spire caves.||
Necrolei Cyst: ||Can be found About 250 Meters northwest from the life-pod in the blue biome, can be harvested from ontop of the small blue plants.||

Conduit Crystal: ||Can be found at the Karakorum Power Plant||

Food Mod.: || near blackbox 1, touch the pink part of the big blue tree||
Heat Mod.: ||150m-200m west to north-west from the life-pod is a destroyed flower that gives you the modification if you repair it.||
How to repair the flower: ||follow the destroyed veins (2 total) and destroy the neon cyan flower things. after that they will be at the huge flower and you need to defeat them once more.||

Wake Maker Fragments: ||go north from your life-pod, after around 125m check upcoming boxes for fragments.||
Repair Tool Fragments: ||1 can be found in the Welcome Center, 2 more can be found at the "Tadpole Pens".||

Certainly look into Proton! I assume it's free. If you're tempted, alot of people aremoving to Linux. But honestly MacOS is just so good otherwise, I'd stay and try to make it work on there myself, if possible! Of course, if they do a proper Mac release for SN2, then it's even better! I may use Windows these days (purely out of being forced to for gaming really lol), but I always hope for equal platform release for Win/Mac! I hope you get to play it ASAP!

Nah, no one is saying you're wrong mate. The whole point is to build on what people want to see changed and voice thoughts but like tbh, even without weapons currently the environment isn't that much of a threat. It's easy to survive if you play normal and not beeline another biome within 10 mins of starting

to be fair i wouldn't mind having an access to a knife that deals 1dmg, with ||no stasis rifle, or at least I didnt find one yet|| killing any leviathan would be incredibly difficult, but technically possible. No gas pods (or at least no gas pods that are as easy to get as in SN1, I didnt find any yet but im maybe halfway through the early access) is a great decision though. Cuz killing anything with a knife required some skills, lot of time and u were consistantly under pressure of O2 and other creatures. Whilst gas pods just one shotted everything

The devs didn’t change their attitude about violence in the games. They addressed people misusing equipment to bypass game loops for the sake of “convenience” such as eliminating leviathans” to build bases and whatnot.
Producing nonviolent games (in general) has been their stance since SN1, and it’s easy to find references to, starting with the Sandy Hooks shooting. So, you can give your feedback if you wish, but the devs’ approach isn’t going to change about killing overall. Calling me out isn’t going to change that either

If the devs want to commit players to pacifism they should really give us options to mitigate the annoying parts of enemy creatures, like a stealth option for the tadpole or a pheromone bio upgrade that lets you be ignored by annoying small creatures like the bullet fish. That’d be a good way to introduce a pacifist playstyle while not making the game tedious to play after a while. Right now it feels a little half-baked imo and that’s where my problem with it is

Personally I hope the ||leapfrog is just a tadpole attachment||, and that ||a towing attachment with storage modules like the seatruck|| could be added, but the latter is definitely a long shot. I just loved the seatruck so much more than the seamoth

there is a plant called necrolie and looks like stacked sea shells with bright green and purple tendrils all around each shell. underneath you will find black brown balls on stalks with petals on top, chop the petals.
