Initial impressions: Astoundingly polished. My experience was entirely bug- free. The only errors I noticed were mis-matches between the voice lines and the text.

• So far, I’m enjoying everything: exploring, base-building, the beautiful world, the intriguing adaptation system. With base-building, especially, I like how everything seems to fit will together both thematically and physically. (No posters hanging a foot away from the wall.) Familiar items have been updated and in nearly every case improved.
• My only nit-pick is that I don’t find the music to be as engaging as in SN1 or BZ.

Hey Question. Does anyone know if Unknown Worlds will add FSR Upscaling and Framegen to Subnautica 2? The game is running okay on my system with Medium settings in 1440p with TSR upscaling set to balanced at about 55-80FPS, tho my GPU is a RX 6700 XT with Core clock OC and Vram OC, and since it is RDNA 2 the Raytraced Reflections and Lighting (Global Illumination) are tanking my FPS cause no RT cores, and i have awful input lag, even when using AMD anti lag on driver level thru the Adrenalin software.

Four years in the making and the Early Access has already exceeded my expectations. The environmental detail is incredible, and watching creatures interact with each other, whether attacking or just being playful, adds so much life to the world. For an EA release this is genuinely impressive work.

I still have plenty left to explore but every moment so far has taken my breath away. I should mention I am not a survival game fan and I have a real fear of the ocean, yet somehow this game pulls me in completely. The way it eases you in and builds atmosphere is something special. I cannot wait to see where it goes from here.

Usually it's just a "wait for a patch" from a community mod or something, this is above and beyond.

Artie that's great to hear, for what it's worth the game has actually been running pretty damn well for me, it's very well polished all things considered. Haven't encountered any UI bugs which there were a few of in the original games. Great controller support and default controls, the new base building is off to an amazing start. Haven't left the shallows yet but I'm excited to hear that there's still more beyond them to play in this early version.

Upload to cloud you get a key give key to friend and then friend clicks import save then input key they eill be able to host save although when i did this my inventory was gone and i spawned in as my mates character lol. dont get the people talking about optimization, its running great on my 2060S despite being an 8 yo card
and its not like low graphics look bad by any means, they still look miles better than sn1 & bz
do hope they add fsr for the amd people soon
plus yeah the base building is amazing so far though the lack of curved walls is a bit wonky
only encountered like 1 cosmetic bug so far but ig i rarely encounter bugs in games anyway (somehow)

for any server mods, could you possibly add a linux fix guide because if you have a distro like arch or anything then the game crashes sometimes if you dont reinstall your proton prefix, so you need to go into the files and remove the proton prefix and remove all shaders cached and then press start on the game so that it redownloads it.

guys, if you are having issues with launching the game on linux, do these 3 things,

1. go to your ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1962700 and delete the pfx folder, this deletes the proton prefix which is one major issue currently

2. go to steam settings, click on downloads, and click clear download cache, which also fixes problems that are too complex for now

3. go to the game settings, and verify integrity of game files, which will check if you are missing a system file

if it has any further issues then you can rule out proton and the actual game itself.

You have to just keep looking. It's there. Took me forever to find it. You'll know you're there when you're in a deep area that crushes your vehicle and you have to get out and swim the rest of the way. There was no beacon waypoint that showed for me, I had to find it manually, was a real pain.

I love this game. It literally is just like Subnautica but better in every way. THE REGULAR FISH AND ANIMALS ACTUALLY HAVE SELF DEFENSE. And it even looks amazing on Medium. I was stunned and it plays on Linux (default proton version) BUT it reminds me of how I first played Subnautica

Biggest take so far after completing the Early access is that we need a weapon of some sort i miss my hot knife
Also the ||armored cankers at the last Angel thingy were super annoying to get rid of like having to go about 450m away was weird|| (end game spolier)
Also the biomods seem a little underwhelming and the beginner Dash one is so far the best
and a Glacier Biome would be cool
