I just realized something whenever you first open up your life pod doors after you did dramatic intro cut scene the very first shot you’re given is the view of the tree and then the PDA says titan class bio signature on the horizon. That means there is a life form class bigger than Leviathan and that also means that the tree is alive and is not a tree but something bigger than a Leviathan.

Ok 3 things i have to say about subnautica 2:

1. I was looking for silver for 2 hours and was forced to use a tutorial (Turner out there are like 3 pieces 400 metres from pod which is too far i think)

2. I was dissapointed seeing that the map border isn't void but a wall like in Minecraft, as useless decision as in Mc when they changed farlands to said border

3. Idk about the map BUT if the tree is at the end of map its too small, but if tree is in the center, the map is bigger in subnautica 1 and ill automatically say its the best game ever

that is a bit of an skill issue on your part and on part of the tutorial, there is a huge cave 100m meters from the pod where you'll get huge loads of silver and copper. Just follow the artificial lights, cables and the glowing flowers on cave sides

Running as admin, verifying files, clearing steam cache, rollback drivers, re-install, overlays disabled. Nothing works.

The game still instantly crashes and says a driver timeout has occurred. But any other game launches and works just fine.

Well not sure, the spec sheets so far dont seem to be entirely accurate, for example running at this games recommended settings i can get between 40-60 fps depending where in the world, so definitely not 60 fps on average, im looking at closer to dlss quality just to reach 60 fps on this games recommended settings, wouldnt say its terrible optimized, but at least the spec sheets released would seem to indicate 60 fps on at least, but on average im finding that more or less isnt the case, but being this the first ea1 release, the optimization so far looks alright, even if i can see areas for improvement

I would ssy its probably best not to rely soley on the games benchmark. I did but i can still see as low as around 40 fps, with a bit of upscaling such as dlss quality you can get closer to 60 fps, at least for me the benchmark was only a starting point but mostly doesnt allow me to play at 60 fps without further tweaking, for reference this is on a laptop with a 4090, game recommended high settings, but i had to tweak the settings to keep a stable 60 fps

It's actually my only complaint that the bases do not have light like in Sn1, and each light takes up 2 power and doesn't give much brightness to the base.

I got that before. There's probably a light or antenna or other tiny decoration you forgot to take out (that's what it was for me). Otherwise, if you have a corridor attached to a room you might need to remove everything near it on the wall of the room, it can be sort of finicky. The lights can also clip into the corridor sometimes if you deconstruct one section with the light on the border between corridor sections.

after reading through it, i can confirm that most of it is just standard stuff that is in 90% of game EULA's nowadays. It's not any worse than any of EA's or Activisions or any other big studio you can think of. granted, this is an "indie" company, but that doesnt change the fact they're just following the industry standard. And if you are REALLY concerned about this, it says you have the right to tell Krafton not to sell any of your data to outside sources so go ahead and send some emails if you want.

it will show a list of bases you have created, and i reccomend removing storages from the specific base before refunding it, the feature will not destroy all bases, just whichever one you select
