For anyone getting motion sickness or feeling like the camera is way too zoomed in, I found a temporary FOV/aspect-ratio fix that works right now through the Unreal config files.

Go to your Subnautica 2 config folder, usually:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Subnautica2\Saved\Config\Windows\

Create a new file named:

Engine.ini

Then paste this inside:

[/Script/Engine.LocalPlayer]
AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV

Save the file, restart the game, and the camera should feel less zoomed-in. This does not add an actual FOV slider, but it does force Unreal’s vertical FOV/aspect-ratio behavior and helped a lot on my setup.

I’d recommend backing up your config files first, just in case. If Windows creates Engine.ini.txt by accident, rename it so the file is exactly Engine.ini.

I’m also working on a proper UE4SS mod that will hopefully allow live FOV adjustment or a real FOV slider, but this Engine.ini method is the quick fix people can use today.

MAKE SURE TO SET THE ENGINE.INI to READ ONLY or the game will delete it on launch.
