I think the reason why i love Leviathans like the Shadow Leviathan and Reaper Leviathan is just how uncanny and alien they look, the Shadow Leviathan having an underside glowing mouth and the Reaper Leviathan having such a humanoid looking face, both of them despite being serpentine like shapes and bodies, they feel dangerous and alien.

It would be cool if as you progress the game, some early game biomes become more dangerous. Like if you unlock a key item like a large sub, the early game biomes spawn in more sharks or leviathans begin to move into them. Makes for more of a challenge and it ups the stakes a bit more. Feel like in previous games it was too easy to avoid leviathans since as long as you knew where they were, you never had to worry about em

Buncha settlements and colonies struggling on other planets. People get sent as Pioneers to new planets (like Zesura) on a ship called the Cicada which is like the new Aurora. Cicada makes an unscheduled phasegate transition to a new planet and loses contact with Alterra which is why they say it’s lost in space
