7TV uses ffmpeg to transform it into webp, which seems to be breaking on errors a lot of other things ignore and/or look past. Try uploading it to ezgif and downloading the generated gif to upload that, generally ezgif has a complete gif that doesn't have pointers pointing at missing things in it.

Yeah, so 7TV has an alias system. If a channel wants to use a custom name for an emote, they can add an alias, and that name will only be used for their channel.

If an emote is reuploaded with another name, it'll be merged with the original emote.

The channels that had the old emote, will get the new emote, with the alias of the old one.

anyone know why my pc blocks chatterino installation, it blocked the most recent update and said it was caused by virus protection or whatever, so i just tried uninstalling and reinstalling since it'd install it with update but now it gives same message as update

is the meme true? is it actually a virus?
