Issues related to the Website

My emote won't upload (i.e it gets deleted after processing)
Ensure that the dimensions of your emotes are under 1000x1000 pixels, that it has less than 1000 frames, and that it is under 7 megabytes large.

I've been added as someone's editor, but I can't add emotes for them
The channel owner must create an emote set first.

I've changed my Twitch username, but 7TV still displays my old name
As of July 12 accounts have been decoupled from Twitch, as a result 7TV accounts have their own username field. This currently cannot be changed but will be in a future update. To retain full functionality, please sign out then back into the website so that your twitch data is updated.

Why does it sometimes take over 20 minutes for my badge/paint to appear in chat?

The system which delivers cosmetics is not designed to handle tens of thousands of users. Because of this, refreshing the index is a costly operation, and can only be about once every 10 minutes to avoid overloading our database server. Further caching can double the time it takes to refresh, meaning it may take longer than 10 minutes to see your cosmetic changes reflect in chat.

We are working on a new scalable system which will make cosmetics refresh instantly, in a similar fashion to the way channel emotes currently do.

I am an editor of another user, how can I manage their emotes?

Click the smaller button on the right-hand side of the "use emote" button to open the set selection menu. Then, you will be able to see the emote sets of any user who've given you privileges. It's also possible to assign a set as "default", which will let you add/remove emotes to that set in one click.

Where are my slots

If you're an editor for a streamer and do not see an upgragded slot count, ask them to load into the 7TV site, or alternatively modify the set manually:

How many emote slots are allowed per channel

This may change in the future.

Which content is not allowed?
Anything that could, if shown on stream, result in the streamer being suspended from Twitch.
Emotes which infringes copyright or depicts certain streamers in ways they find undesirable may be removed if requested or complaint is raised.

Someone uploaded my emote under their name. Can I have the emote transferred to my name? Or can I get it removed?
Absolutely! You'd just need to DM one of our mods ( <@&817085632378699878> ) , or myself with proof.

Questions regarding the FFZ Integration

I can't see 7TV Emotes in VOD Chat Replays
While the native extension doesn't yet support VODs, the FFZ integration can currently bring this feature if you have installed FrankerFaceZ. This feature will be supported independently in the future.

I can't see the 7TV Emote Menu button as of v1.5.4
This means you have FrankerFaceZ enabled, and 7TV loaded as a FFZ add-on. You can see 7TV emotes in FFZ's or BTTV's menu instead

Auto-completion doesn't work
This is resolved as of version 1.5.5

How can I apply to become a moderator and/or emote approver for 7TV?

What do mods do?
Moderators have access to an emote queue. The can approve, deny, or delete emotes. They also have access to the report channel of reported emotes, and chose to delete emotes, or merge emotes if there are duplicates. If a user reports a stolen emote of theirs, moderators can either merge, or transfer ownership of the emote.
They can also ban users if they're constantly uploading emotes that go against our guidelines

Subscription Questions

Do I keep the Founders Badge after my subscription ends?
The badge will remain in your account forever, but it will only be visible in chat while actively subbed.

If I get gifted a sub, do I still get the Founders Badge?
Yes, as long as the subscription is gifted before October 1st

Animated Profile Pictures

I've waited more than 10 minutes and I still don't see my animated profile picture on twitch
Try logging out then back into the 7TV Website. Usually this happens if you've recently changed your profile picture through twitch. Wait another 10 minutes afterwards

I can't find the 7TV settings menu
It's located at the top-right on twitch.tv, typically next to the bits icon and your profile image.

Can I get more emote slots on my channel?
As of 13/07/2022, we no longer grant further emote slots to users even if they met the criteria. There will be ways to earn emote capacity in the future.
