Discord Integration Test

The Discord Integration feature, which will be releasing with support for sub role syncing, is now on stage.

Try it out with these steps
👉 Sign into https://7tv.dev with your Twitch account
👉 Subscribe with this test credit card: 4242 4242 4242 4242 01/25 777
👉 Swap to https://next.7tv.dev, sign in again if necessary
👉 Go to your profile, locate the Discord button in the sidebar under "Link accounts..."
👉 Click the button and authorize 7TV to identify your discord account

If these steps worked, you should now see your Discord account in your 7TV Stage profile and have been granted the "Stage Subscriber" role on this server. Report your experience in #stage-discussion

youtube YouTube Authentication

Now testing YouTube Login, this allows using 7TV without a Twitch account for creators exclusively on YouTube. Help quickly test out this flow before this change goes live!

👉 Steps to take

Get onto https://7tv.dev/
Send me a direct message with the email address of the google/youtube account you are logging in with - you must be whitelisted
Right-click the "SIGN IN" button, and pick "Use YouTube", then click the button. You can also try going to your profile and linking a youtube account to your current 7TV (Stage) account
Follow the instructions on the new pop up and authorize access
You should now be signed in as a youtube-only user.

Personal Emote Sets

I've deployed a patch which adds Personal Emote Sets, the backbone of the Personal Emotes sub perk.

These sets have special behaviors, including:

Adding an emote which hasn't been previously approved for Personal Use will send it to the mod queue
if it was previously approved via another user's request, then anyone can use it as a personal emote without approval
Only emotes where at least 50 channels enabled it can be added to a personal set
After adding or renaming an emote to a personal set it cannot be modified or removed for an hour
The capacity of a personal set cannot be changed
Personal sets will appear with a gold outline and show a PERSONAL tag in the set selection menu.

This test concerns website functionality only. Personal Emotes are not supported on any chat clients at this time.

Web Extension v3.0.0

Hello, I am here to drop the first test build of the new 7TV Web Extension, version 3.0.0. This is a total overhaul and runs faster than the old extension, as well as native twitch chat by orders of magnitude.

Please read and understand the following

The native twitch chat is completely overridden. This will neuter any features from other extensions. (Emotes from all providers are supported by default)
This build works only on Chrome & Chromium-based browsers and requires a recent version
Cosmetics V3 & Personal Emotes are not part of this test build, but will be part of the next.
This is an early test build. It missing features, such as a settings menu.
There may be inconsistencies in loading emotes; if emotes don't load, refresh the page.
This build is wholly incompatible with FrankerFaceZ. Disable it to test

Install (Chrome)

Download and extract the ZIP into a folder
Open the chrome extensions page (chrome://extensions/)
Top-right, enable "Developer mode"
Top-left, click "Load unpacked"
Select the folder with the extracted files

Web Extension v3.0.0 - Pre-Beta Build #2

This is a new build of the new Web Extension

Changes

Added Twitch tab in the Emote Menu
Added search in the Emote Menu (typing in chat filters to the current emote token)
Fixed an issue which made the extension wholly incompatible with FrankerFaceZ
Tentatively fixed an issue which sometimes caused emotes to not load when entering a new channel

Known Issues

This build may not work on Brave Browser (reason is currently unknown)
This build has not been tested to work on Firefox - it may not work if firefox does not support manifest v3
On firefox, emotes will not be animated due to the lack of AVIF support
There may be short lag spikes during room enters and chat state updates

Changes

Fixed most issues with emotes sometimes not loading
Fixed an issue which sometimes caused sets from previous channels to appear in the menu
There should no longer be major lag spikes when entering chat rooms or during chat state updates
Chatting will now announce your presence to the 7TV API and cause it to fan out events about badges, paints and personal emotes to other users in the same room. (Note: this does not render in the UI yet)
When channel emotes change, existing messages will now update
Outside of Google Chrome, the extension will now load emotes in WEBP format instead of AVIF
Technical: the extension now uses a single shared worker

Sign In
Click the Subscriptions tab, highlighted in gold. If it doesn't appear, please report this
Click "Subscribe", and see below to pick one of the paypal sandbox credentials provided
After paypal redirects you back to the website, close the popup window and wait a few minutes for the subscription to activate. Keep refreshing until your name turns gold and report your experience.

Fixed an issue which prevented twitch emotes from being paired with a zero-width emote

This build contains changes to the chat input box's behavior. After installing, go to the settings and tick on "Allow sending the same message twice". Then try sending the same message multiple times in a channel where you are not a moderator or VIP. Also try holding the Ctrl(Control) key while pressing enter, the input should retain its current value and allow you to rapid-fire send the same message over and over again.

Web Extension - Twitch Experiment Fix (Slate Chat Input)

We are testing a tentative fix for the change Twitch has began rolling out to a small number of users. This change currently breaks autocomplete for 7TV, so if you have time please help us test by following these steps:

1. Install the FrankerFaceZ browser extension
2. Open the FrankerFaceZ control center, then go to Debugging -> Experiments
3. Search for chat_input_user_id in the search bar
4. Change it from "control" to "treatment" (unless it was already set to treatment)
5. Disable FrankerFaceZ, BetterTTV and the Live version of 7TV (Important. Keep only the test build of 7TV provided in this message)

Once done try auto-completing emotes and inserting them via the 7TV emote menu. Report your experience in #stage-discussion, with screenshots and/or video if possible.

To disable the experiment after testing is done, just do these steps in reverse order, or see #faq

As the road to V3 draws ever closer, I've re-opened the stage environment; this time with all current data converted to the new v3 schema.
This environment will be undergoing rapid changes, as all commits to the dev branch will deploy. Feel free to check what's going on there periodically and leave feedback.
