Not sure if this has been a problem before but anytime I go on twitch for the first time my name comes up as normal instead of painted. I then go to the 7tv.app and have to refresh the page for the paints to show up and then now the pain still isn't showing up on the stream after trying to refresh, re-login of 7tv and twitch. Not sure what else I can do for it to work. Was working fine a week ago but past 4 days or so I've had to go to the website to have any luck of the paint showing up.

7TV has been appending hidden characters at the end of my chat messages, some of which are not recognized and are breaking twitch bots. Uninstalling the extension fixes all the issues.

Question is, why is 7TV editing chat messages that are sent to Twitch?

Hello. So I updated my 7TV to fix the Mod View issues and emotes are working fine again for me.
However, a streamer I moderate for was also having the Mod View issues, so they reinstalled 7TV as well as clicking the Update button... no luck. Theirs is still broken. They're on Chrome just like me, so idk how to help them more.

MacBook display is all HiDPI

all of the settings are actually scaled

"Default" is 2x scaling at native resolution (which is treated as half resolution by the system), while the other 3 are smaller and larger resolutions, but still with 2x scaling, and then stretched to fit. So "Default" is the only one with 1:1 pixel mapping.

To get true 1x scaling, you have to use something like EasyRes to set it to the native resolution

I think the Theater Mode on YT is bugged.

It zooms in on the video which cuts of the video from the sides. Last month it used to add black bars on top and bottom which maintained the aspect ratio which was a lot better!

Came here looking to see if anyone else was experiencing the blank emotes as well, glad to see a few others mentioned it earlier.
Using 1440p monitors with Google Chrome updated, and tried clearing cookies/cache today just to see if that affected it.
Weird that it only affects certain emotes, and only when using the : chat shortcut to search for the emote name. All the emotes appear normal when clicking on the 7tv button below the chat.

if theres even a slight blip in the internal networking it can cause failures

Hello, any update on when Twitch emotes, global and sub emotes, will function properly with Tab Completion? I don't want to have to use ":" lookup for them nor do i want to re-enable BTTV which does Tab Complete them properly. Thanks. 🙂

i disabled all other extensions to see if there was a clash and still no luck

So like "kap" + Tab gives Kapp and KappaCool, but skips Kappa

So I'm using Chrome, had no other extensions enabled other than 7TV, and didn't work. Perhaps someone here has a solution then since clearly it's something wrong on my end if other peoples' are working.

Either that or it's a known issue still and a fix is incoming

OK well after much enabling and disabling of different things, try Mod View and Regular View, and anything else I could think of, I had no luck getting the 7TV one to work. However i DID manage to notice FFZ has an add-on called "Inline Tab-Completion" which did what I wanted. 👍

yeh i don't want to use the "Allow tab-completion of emotes without typing a colon" option. I both want to Tab Complete usernames without @s on occasion, as well as I don't want the list to pop-up with the emote options like the ":" search would normally do.

I basically want inline Tab Complete, including usernames, as well as the ":" lookup as an option also. And all this would be possible if the 7TV one matched the globals and sub emotes. shrug

What if you disable the inline tab addon, disable autocomplete in 7tv and change the settings in ffz to match what you just said?

Another issue i noticed with the 7TV one is that when there is an emote match, the username matches are ignored. I wish the username matches were given after we tabbed to the end of the emote matches like BTTV's one.

I could just enable BTTV again, but i really don't want to.

I'd probably recommend something like -lossless 0 -compression_level 4 -quality 90 for good looking encodes that are still fast

compression level 5 is a weird one. It's not always slower, and it's not always smaller.

it will have better indication that an emote is processing though
