not sure if this is a good place to post, sorry if not. Im on opera gx, and would type out lets say emote1 autotab, and it would be fine. But when I try to type next emote and auto complete it, it would autocomplete it as a first emote, even though they weren't similar at all. Tried refreshing and restarting, doest help it would just do the same but with whatever other emote.

If you're curious why I still have BTTV... it's cos the 7TV new Tab Complete doesn't let me Tab to usernames like BTTV does. I sometimes just want to Tab to a user without the @ 🙂

@humble pelican erm no... I mean I create an emote, add it to a channel. It works. Then i rename the emote (the actual name not an alias) and there is no notification in chat and a refresh is required.

I guess to circumvent this I could remove the emote from chat before renaming it, but probably not the desired functionality? not sure.

mainly because this'll likely be tied into the Versioning system in the future

So if an author changes the name of their emote, instead of instantly changing it'll create a new "version" that channels can update to (or auto-update at the end of a grace period)

Hello. Tested new Chatter Tab Completion. I noticed some chatters names are being matched and some return no results. Not sure what separates them. All names I tested had typed in the chat since I loaded the page.

OK. After further testing... I disabled FFZ and that fixed whatever issue there seemed to be and all names then matched. Obviously this is not desirable though since I need FFZ on. 🙂

Note: I tested with and without FFZ colon completion setting. ie. "Allow tab-completion of emotes without typing a colon. (:) This will prevent the tab-completion of usernames without the @ prefix."
Having this on meant some names didnt match and some did.
Having this off meant some names used the FFZ name matching (requiring another Tab keystroke) and some worked with the 7TV name matching.

So something else is going on between the 2 extensions. pepoHmm

[7TV] Enable the setting "Allow sending the same message twice" in the 7TV settings menu to bypass the duplicate message restriction If so, then is there a way to remove this from popping up? yep, the only problem (or maybe it should work this way to work properly) if U mark the "Allow tab-completion of emotes without typing a colon. (:)" check box U can't use nicknames auto-completions without "@" (and vise versa check out the box will prevent to auto-comp emotes without ":").

There is a description "This will prevent the tab-completion of usernames without the @ prefix."

Maybe it should be like this to prevent unwanted outcomes

The autocomplete works fantastic and exactly as bttv did(no @ for users or : for emotes) for me now after some tinkering. It does however break now and then and recovers if i disable and enable 7tv. Using waterfox based on Gecko 78.12.0.1 with ffz with settings below and 7tv with all the autocompletion settings on.

version 7.3.4 broke the chatterino browser extension for some reason, was using 7.3.2 and it was working fine
