This is something we have considered, but have ultimately decided against. We have taken the stance that if you make a private game, you are responsible for moderating it. The host will have their own rules, and have the responsibility of kicking people who they feel are breaking the rules.
Public lobbies are different in that players don't necessarily know the people in the game they are joining into. Kids might enter a game and can be harassed by others in some corner of the map if proximity chat is on. If someone is being rude or toxic in a meeting, everyone can hear it and can block their mics and block them.
So why don't we just separate servers into kids and 18+? Because a 12 year old can check off a box that says they are 18, and we'd rather prevent the potential abuse and toxicity.
If you want proximity chat, make a private game. If you need players, find a private game in the #lfg channels or make your own.

make a low preformance mode, my game is stuttering a lot on the new map and if i get the brushing task under the shuttle i get killed 90% of the time

Agree'd. Players shouldn't have to hunt for the quit button on the main menu and find it hidden in the gear settings. If not switched, at least the quit button added to the main menu please
You can still quit through the settings button. We will be making ui changes soon.
If it's a really big issue for you, there's always the trusty Alt+f4
A lot of games don't save properly if you don't use their specific quit button, so gamers wouldn't expect to need to do that.
You don't need to do that, you can always exit via the quit button. Just suggesting a faster option for anyone inconvenienced by an extra click.

The ability to change outfit colors would be kinda cool, even if the colors were limited. Like I am saving to get the dragon cosmetic but I’d love to have the option to color it green or even black.

From the main screen, go to "Collection" then click "Shop" at the top of the screen under the word "Wallet"
This will open a browser window where you input your gaggle linked email and are then able to make purchases via Steam

I don’t see why the minimap is turned off during the voting phase? Especially for new players like me it is useful for gaining an idea of where everyone was if you haven’t mesmerized the map. The discussion phase is usually a bit short so if it were in both phases I feel one could get more use out of it
(Not minimap but that map you have to see where you were before the meeting was called)

We had it on and players not voting skyrocketed. It was making the game way less interesting and fun.
The medium is really for players that enjoy a more team-based social deception game. I'll admit its a lot less exciting than being a vigilante but can be far more powerful in the right player's hands. The amount of information you can obtain is massive. Herbert's advice is correct. If your group doesn't like the medium they can turn it off.

No they literally were so focused on the screen blocking the vote panel they tuned out the timer and just spent the time looking at the map instead of voting.

might've already been said before but whoever created the lobby theme deserves so much love. perfectly sets the tone of the game and is an all-round bop.

it already is, it forcibly closes as soon as the discussion timer ends (unless you open it with 1 second or less left) appears to be fixed

Definitely make some method of preventing blank names, probably by blocking non-displaying unicode characters.
i just realized some of the outfits have really good shading and others are flat colors, and some in between, is this intentional? or is the art still being updated?

I know we can manually turn off the auto kick for not finishing tasks, but for Goose Hunt I feel it should auto turn off... cause whenever we switch from normal to goose hunt people often forget until it becomes a problem in game
Playing a round of Dine & Dash with 8 people, I was Vulture. Duck killed me while in engine room on Nexus. The sounds of the engine room persisted into the next lobby

Poor mimic needs a bit of a buff if there's two ducks and one mimic, I just had a game where I spawned with the mimic and my duck friend spawned right next to lights sabotage and did them instantly. I noticed the sabotage task turn green and instantly knew who the mimic was, a bit unfair for them I think

Thanks for the tip! We use a custom stencil buffer so it isn't so simple as that tutorial might suggest but we're definitely on it.
Oh yeah, speaking of screen resolution, I use a 2560x1080 screen and on some maps, I can see the edges a little bit

Group feedback from my stream, people asked about the possibility of the dead being able to hear the living while floating around, most likely limited by proxchat range, but not affecting the current implementation of the dead chat. I agree with the that if you're the only dead non-duck, then it's boring as you can't hear anyone.
Piggybacking off of this, since it would be hard to differentiate the dead from the living, make the text chat constantly active for the dead.

The collection page should open onto the first section of cosmetics, it would be better if they were organised with it opening first onto the silver currency pages of cosmetics and then the premium currency sections, it would be cool if the gold currency cosmetic page icons were inner or outlined in gold to show before switching tabs.

Sorry, Herbert, I should've specified my thought instead of typing half my thought and moving on 💀 I meant moreso like an on screen chat. Similar to many games but I'm specifically thinking of Stardew Valley, where sent messages appear on screen and disappear. And as for hearing the live birds, maybe a toggle feature where you could either listen to them, or talk to your fellow dead.
We have considered this but we've noticed that if someone is talking to someone else (who might not be listening) players automatically assume their own mic is broken and people tend to not realize what is happening. The number of bug reports about mics failing starts to go up and our team ends up getting distracted trying to solve bugs that aren't bugs. 😦 When a feature can manifest itself like a bug we cautiously avoid putting it in. To implement this we would need an on screen indicator similar to discord (which we can do) but now this is no longer a small update and a MAJOR in-game and UI change.
We will definitely look into ways of making this a possibility, but as it stands now a lot of mic issues we trouble shoot are user error already and we're not too thrilled about going down this road even further until we know for certain what our in-game UI will look like.
I hope this satisfies the answer about mics. The on screen chat solution is also a heavy UI change that not everyone would like. We're really keen on keeping the chat dialogue clean and also preventing on screen spam for streamers who may be in public lobbies.
As we approach the final state of our game, additional QoL features usually come with a caveat which makes them more and more difficult to implement without affecting the game. Unless 100% of people demand it or it's a feature that brings new players to the game and helps them enjoy it (like a friends list) we're likely to avoid putting resources in it immediately. It doesn't mean we wont do it but it does mean we will be less likely to over some features until we're certain that it wont make the game more confusing for new players 🙂
Understood. I wasn't really thinking of the streaming aspect, moreso me thinking as a player who plays in lots of private lobbies who enjoys seeing how people play the game. Once I'm dead in the game, I'm just a spectator (with tasks). I'd still like to hear, or have the option to hear, what's going on between the living. I completely understand the mic issue and why this wouldn't be a priority at the moment (or at all) but just mentioning it as a possible thing in the future.
Glad to know it was at least considered before though.

Can you make it so that way when a detective uses his ability on someone that is a duck who has not killed change from angel to devils when they kill?
That's part of the skill of using the role though! Do you use it after the first body when you're slightly sus of someone or hope you survive long enough to use it when it's down to just a few people. Using it before the first meeting is very rarely going to be a good play for Detective Goose.
Detectives in real life gather information, the longer they investigate (survive) the better information they'll have. It's adapted to be exactly like this in the game too. @crimson notch nailed it.
To clarify I mean just have something on your end that says if your mic is transmitting sound maybe like the push to talk thing where it goes yellow

Forgive me if I'm wrong but how does that interfere with the morphing duck if it's on your side and your the only one who sees it, it's mainly just to see if the game is picking up you talking
It isn't quite what you want, but something slightly related in the next update is that there will be a bar that moves depending on the volume of people speaking in the players menu

Very low priority but especially with new maps that will come out later: would it be possible to switch the sabotage task lights to a different color on minimap? Like a red or something comes to mind to just help newer ducks figure out locations and differentiate at a quick glance.
Wasn't neccessary suggesting spectator mode, I think the amount of players per lobby is perfect. Moreso called myself, dead in game, a spectator, because once my tasks are done I'm just spectating the game.

detective should just check the role inmy opinion because once i check a duck and they dont kill then the angel will show up which is kinda broken for the duck's i think the devil icon should only happen when the detective finds the duck

Silence only works in meetings, and dead can't talk in meetings anyway, it's just an indication that you would have been silenced, had you had lived.
I was silenced as a ghost though?
You may have accidentally muted your microphone in game. If the microphone icon turns red, just click it again or press m. Silence only ever works during meetings.
I play without the mic, and I couldn't chat with the other ghosts and I just thought it was a little pointless to keep the dead silenced, sorry
If you were unable to chat in the dead chat, this is more than likely a bug, and is not intended. Sometimes strange bugs show up if someone dc's during meetings, especially if they interacted with you.

As Shawn has said before... if you're silenced you're silenced, alive or dead.
Correct, however it is only supposed to happen during meetings, so being unable to communicate after the meeting, is definitely unintended. Most likely I'm guessing someone dc'd that may have voted for Sobriquet, or possibly even the silencer dc'd and caused some unintentended consequence.

Snoop Goose is fine and all, but there's a lack of clarity and a certain lack of intuitiveness as to where all they can hide. Feel like with vents having a consistent aesthetic it was a far better design. Kind of feel like you have to learn all the possible hiding spots rather than being able to quickly identify.
The new techno mask looks really cool but it kinda looks really low res

Love love love the new map. It is absolutely gorgeous! Just some positive feedback for you all! From the new kill animations (which are hilarious), new role, new tasks all the way to the new environmental kills- it is absolutely AMAZING! Keep it up gaggle team!

Can the quit button be put back on the main menu (for steam version only?). It's confusing to have to go in settings in order to quit the game, when quitting is not a setting.

I would guess that it has already been said But to me, the new version of Medium is kind of "meh". There's not really anything much to do with the info of how many ghosts there are. Or am I just missing some important aspect of it? In any case I for one liked the old Medium better. Or change it again. I'll post a suggestion about how it could be changed...
Check the #live-birds section, and read about some of the medium strategies there, might give you some new ideas on how to use it.

Not all roles are created equal, the old medium was way too powerful in a cohesive lobby. The new medium is actually quite strong if used to it's full potential. Backpedaling when you know a new ghost is afoot to a place you just were gives you a good chance to possibly catch a murderer on foot fleeing from a scene.
You can piece information together pretty quickly.
That being said, it's not an ultimate power role, but the power of it is truly up to the wielder. In the hands of an effective player its as good if not better than a sheriff. (and a lot less dangerous)
We will be making a draft mode in the future so if it's a role you're not particularly keen in playing you can always choose around it. If your friends know you do this often you'll likely get picked out of a pile for repeat pattern behavior.

No, there is a balcony in the library, but this map does not have a second floor.

You can earn a small amount of gold coins with certain achievements. You can also purchase bundles of gold coins in game

The calibrate doors task is hard for individuals who are color blind.
There is a white circle that grows as you get closer to the correct color. Just focus on the white circle. At least 2 of the Devs are colorblind, so they have factored this into regular game design without needing special settings.

The only task I mess up sometimes (rarely because the colors are so stark) is the calibrate reactor.
I heard some people have trouble with the fixing of lights sabotage with the reds and yellows. Not sure if a white dot can be added to those as well.
Otherwise if it passes the Chris and Me test and you're not 100% colorblind (no color/ monochromacy) disorders you should be able to do all the tasks.
We change the saturation hue and luminosity. People who are colorblind on those two will actually see one as dark and one as bright (similar colors)

I do indeed despise that "sign out" is on the main screen instead of "quit." Also without a confirmation prompt, so when I THINK I'm hitting a reasonably placed quit button, I instead log out. (I probably sound madder than I am, which is only a little, but hardly even.)

i think it's something that comes with experience, and doesn't really require a UI update
Love the new map the only concern I have is the dead being able to sabotage the chandelier as it seems a bit op, I killed a few people last night. Is the intention for ghosts to sabotage that ?

There is a delay from when you click on the sabo icon and when it actually hits, so you need to time it right or just get really lucky
The dynamic is similar to the the air lock in storage really
if you have the carpet task, it would be smart to do it earlier rather than later
and if you have suspicions that you are being watched, or if you think a ghost is a duck, it might serve you to bait out the chandelier rather than to just walk directly through it

That’s why it is still an active environmental. for ghost ducks. 🙂 the Falcon may need to be hunted and there might not be any other killing roles alive. Nexus has shuttle/teleport. Black Swan/mother goose has airlock.

So.. last night I got to try out the new map with some friends! I had the weirdest first round I've ever had too:
Less than two minutes in the game I was killed by a chandelier at the very same time another body was called, I was still in the meeting alive too. one almost-getting-voted-off session later I returned to the spot of my own demise to finish my task, but I decided not to step in the same spot that done myself in. A few seconds later it actually crashed down with me NOT dead! I actually felt like I was in Final Destination for a moment.

A few people have reported similar things, but really it's just the same case of latency
Whether it be this, or instances where people are killed as they go into vents, or meetings are called
They might be alive on their own screens but dead on others
This will eventually be fixed
I really like the Falcon role, you guys did a good job. I find it nice because when you have like 8-10 people I have to decide between 2 ducks, but now we can do 1 duck 1 falcon and I find that really effective in terms of balancing so

I think what they meant was you can use gold instead of crafting materials, to buy the limited time items.
The Snoop role just sucks. The core mechanic is to sit there afk hoping something happens in 1 out of 4 spots. THe cooldown on the skill is way too long too. 20s. the pigeon can do it in 5. ducks can do it in 5.
Argueably the mechanics' vent switch cooldown should be more than 1s but in the other maps it isnt like he can see much anyways. in mallard manor the snoop has great vision but only 4 spots and only 2 of those spots are commonly worth sitting in.
My suggestion to make the role more fun to play and interactive; is to rebrand it as the "magician" and allow him to reappear in another cabinet on a cooldown.
I could see the "Magician" idea being possible, though I'd argue that to balance it, you could still lurk in Cabinet A and exit Cabinet A when you want, but once you decide to swap to Cabinet B, you automatically exit from Cabinet B before you can see if someone is nearby.

I kind of agree, but at the same time I also like the fact that snoop cannot teleport around the map like the mechanic can. It's a different role, it works differently
Maybe make it so the snoop can look into peoples pockets. This has no gameplay value but makes him even more unique (joke)
Possibly consider allowing the snoop goose to check if there's someone in one of the closets/leafpile? Doesn't say who but can trace wether someone has been in that closet for the past 10 seconds or if someone is in there.

Thats fair yeah. Eventually people will have to call a meeting or a body has been found but I can see your scenario happening and creating not so fun situations.
Instead you could give it a check option to see how long ago someone has jumped in a closet, in that situation the duck COULD still be in there, but they could also be long gone, same problem scenario presents itself in case the closet gets checked within like 10 seconds of someone jumping in but the likelihood would be way lower. In reality a snoop could also sit in the leafpile and out you another way anyhow. Duck could jump out and kill the snoop, either way if you get caught that way by the snoop you'd be a pigeon or duck either way. Although I could see that not being wanted still as the same problem scenario could still present itself, however it's a base to start on, some way to check the closets by "snooping" around in them. i ate a body (5th) as vulture and then the bell was rung at the same time. then falcon won after the meeting
If 2 killers shoot at the same time, shouldnt both die instead of the server picking one?
ive had several games where i simultaneously shot another killer role, got the sound effect for killing them but then got the animation for them killing me.
Both of these issues, are things that are being looked at to be resolved. Right how a lot of issues come down to player latency. The devs are looking into ways to make this feel better for everyone, so please try to stay patient.
I would love to see something like a "camo goose", where you become invisible after standing still for 5 seconds. When camouflaged, killers can still get you (and other things you can do to bodies like use detective on them), however you get some sight like the snoop goose does.
Also (just thought of this now), what if birdwatcher was something like you can pick a point on the map that you can see, and for some amount of time you "fly" to that point and stay put with your normal vision for some amount of time. The birdwatcher flashlight viewing is okay, however, I still think it can be improved upon. BTW I love the game.

Should the chandelier environmental kill be limited to 1 per game in the mallard manor map?
no, it can easily be avoided by the geese
The map was strategically designed so that the chandelier causes the map to play much bigger than it is.
It's a tiny map when it needs to be, and gets much larger when players become more accustomed to it because of the dangers of that Chandelier.
Also, from a lore perspecitive, the ceiling is just really tall, and there are multiple chandeliers stacked ontop of each other.

The game it's fun and really good for all the roles there is really funny and I never get the same expirience but always a good one the game already is good enough but with more maps and roles coming you can know the game will only get better thank you gaggle for this awesome game

Honestly I think the rat task speed could be somewhere in between the release of mallard manor and the bugfix. It was easy when it was released, now it's just way too fast.

I've heard people in my games all day constantly say how it takes them way too long, sometimes the span of 3-5 rounds (Depending on meetings called/bodies reported) to be able to do it. They were kind of short rounds since its fast paced, but the mouse task got sped up way too much.

I for one did notice that the mouse does stay in one hole a little bit longer from time to time. Another factor is that you used to only need to hit it 3 times when it was slower while you need to hit it 5 times now when it's faster.
I mean... its ridiculously fast, but 3-5 rounds to hit 5 mice is insane, they're fast, not light speed

Fair enough on that, I mean it doesnt take me that long but, it did them, they werent used to it.
I gave it to my 9 year old niece who doesn't play computer games at all and she got it in under 15 seconds.
That was the litmus test; so far we've heard a lot of people complaining but most people finish it faster than the organize boxes task.
You could always slow it down, and make them slap the mouse 50 times instead.

i think the limit of human reaction time is like 0.12 s

Is there a way to adjust the graphic size of the game? I stream and only have one screen so need to make games small in order to be able to see the chat while streaming. I play in the 1300 X 900 to 1400 X 900 range for games. I am not seeing a way to do that in settings.
As of yet there is no way but before we reach our final release we will have options to change resolution when not in fullscreen mode. This is something we will most definitely have in the near future.
It’s a great game. But there’s something that should be noted. If you are silenced and killed in the same round, it will say that you are silenced and you can’t talk in dead chat for the rest of the round. Just saying.

Mouse task on Mallard Manor is WAY to fast. It was slow before.... but now is overtuned to be too fast. Literally up for not even half a second before it moves
how long is it taking you to finish it?
depending on how fast i can try and click em, sometimes taking me 15+ secodns trying to catch the mice
last time, it took me 20 seconds
its like playing a duel in the wild west
a bit to late on moving your mouse and you miss it

We're fairly happy with where it's at.
It is intended to take 12-18 seconds to complete for those with slower reaction times. We suspect players will get better as they go on and get experience with it.
There should be a report option. Just had someone join my lobby an just repeatedly said the N word
There is a report feature in public games, by hosting a private game, you are inviting people into your lobby. In private lobbies you have the option to kick and/or mute players
That's a bit disappointing. I regularly use the duckscord to fill lobbies and its kinda disgusting that thats the people we get :/ Still think we should allow the room leader to report. But thats just my opinon

Is it possible to make the smoke in the library on Mallard manor somewhat easier to see through if you're already dead. Its kinda boring not being able to see the kills when you've finished your tasks

Probably because it encourages people to play the game and experience it since the materials are gained via doing tasks, it means that instead of just investing money they actually can experience the game and be rewarded for that alone

i downloaded this game yesterday and already got 4 games that could not start because of someone beeing afk or griefing
In private servers the host gets the ability to kick people out. In our beta group we say, ready or kick
We don't want to hide cool animations behind paywalls because it's not "you" who gets to see it. It's the other players. We felt this was a terrible cash grab and felt morally wrong. Cosmetics affect the way you look/feel and how other player's see you so it felt more appropriate for that to be the way to let people support us financially.

Leaving games early a lot will trigger a temporary restriction (usually a very short time). Even if it is manual or unintentional disconnect.

On the vote result screen, you can't see who is talking and very often people will troll with blaring sound board noises. Perhaps once vote result comes up, no more sound. Cause then you can't tell whos "talking"

Still having issues people with getting upset for getting killed doing the chandelier task since there is no good task associated with it. Any plans in the future to get this fixed?
Not at the moment
If people keep getting killed unlocking it, why don't they try unlocking it while the coast is clear? like if there's a lights sabotage or a fire sabotage for example. Or just ignoring it altogether, and if they get killed or voted out, unlock it as a ghost.
People have been playing with mallard manor for about a week at this point, i'd like to have some faith that they'll adapt
I am inclined to agree with you. I personally have never been killed for doing that task cause I wait till people are not there. I just figured I would ask cause it started an argument apparently when people were dead.

It reminds me of my first time playing Among Us and I didn't know that the gas task always went top first then bottom. Got called on it and ejected and never made that mistake again.

I can actually handle the flashing lights better than I can handle the siren! I have sensory processing sensitivity and my hearing is brutally acute 😭

Getting rewards from tasks isa bit grindy. Been playing for 2-3 months and only have 70 cogwheels

There were loads on the first two maps, on the Manor I've yet to see a gear wheel.
We tend to switch maps a lot, but mainly the manor lately.
But even on the other maps its been a bit of a struggle

IIRC weren't some tasks more likely to drop certain items? I think the vending machine gave out gearwheels quote often.
Mallard Manor does have a completely different set of crafting items. That might be why you have not got many cog wheels recently. There is different drop rates for all of them, it maybe that you just haven't been getting that task often or you don't get round to doing it.
Someone keeps joining a private lobby to scream, its abuse, i know its private and we have to self regulate, but its near impossible to kick this guy cause he comes in so quick to scream
its "private" but open for lfg, its quite annoying -- is there a way you could impliment a way for the lobby host to "ban" people who already left the room
I'd like this if there was a limit. E.g. if someone joins a lobby but doesnt stay for a game they need to be pardoned/can be banned or if they say join a waiting lobby for under 1 minute. It would prevent the trolls but also would hopefully avoid abuse
There are a lot of corner cases with this but once we introduce a friends list we expect this issue to go away as you'll likely know everyone in your lobby
It would be nice if there was a role making guide which has all the GGDHelpbot messages so that players know what type of roles are not going to be included in the game. Any other useful insights from the devs or experienced players about role creation would also be greatly appreciated.

Hey, if there's a guide for role creation, I might be able to come up with my own. My only idea is an executioner style role (think Town of Salem or the Town of Us mod for Among Us) with Turkey being the bird, but I already know you've at least looked at the roles from both of those things.

The more we write the less people tend to read we find. If it did say, "Infect everyone in a round to win" versus "infect everyone to win" less people will read it.
We want to say as much as we need to and keep some of the specific nuances to the splash screen.

It's new with the launch of Mallord Manor, it replaces the Mechanic, as there are no vents on the new map.

Idk how it would work but an option for "streamer mode" would be cool. maybe blur the role image and name on screen. And since not everyone is a streamer maybe a way to disguise the role in the meetings and also disguise roles on ghost screen during meetings so others who arent streamers can still see roles.
So...to clarify, you want an opt out of revealing everyone's roles to yourself, in case you're a streamer, to prevent stream sniping, yet allowing others to use and enjoy role reveal while it's on?
I see your point, and your intentions, but that would only solve the problem for you, not everyone streaming may want to check this off. It seems like it would just be best to turn role reveal off entirely if you're dealing with stream snipers, or just not invite them back. Stream sniping may also fall under the ToS of your respective platform, if it continues you can look into that and make reports as necessary.
the idea is it would be an option for anyone who is streaming. a checkbox like "no mic mode" or something. it was just an idea to turn off certain role revealing features for all streamers who choose to use it and let others enjoy the features who aren't streaming. I can see how it would continue to be an issue if not every streamer used the feature tho.

It just seems like as an option it wouldn't get utilized enough to justify it, outside of forcing it on streamers, and forcing players or penalizing them because they stream probably isn't the best course of action, especially if they're trying to produce content. I'd say just turn role reveal off, or if you find out who is doing it, you can handle it accordingly. I disagree, the snoop role isn't as bad as you make it out to be (but it isn't quite fun either for most people). How I play the snoop role is to keep an eye on who is going where when they pass by. Most times a death will not happen by a cabinet/pile of leaves but if you keep track of who is going where and if you suspect any strange behavior, you can come out when no one is around and try to see the nearby rooms for a potential dead body. If I see one player pass by and soon another goes through the same pathing, I will contemplate if a murder is about to happen and try to come out to see if one does happen. I've gotten several murderers voted out this way.
While GGD is undeniably better, this statement is actually not fully accurate. You simply need to connect to a 3rd party server that hosts the mods such as skeld (dot net).

hey so i know to unlock the maid outfit you have to do a specific 2 cleaning tasks 500 times. i think there should be tasks on the newer 2 maps that count for that as well.

Geese should usually be working toward completing their tasks. If you have confirmed that your lover partner is a Duck, you could ignore your tasks to ensure the Geese don't get a task win while your Lover Duck kills everyone.
The way I see it is the lovers are a separate team too so they shouldn't be obligated to do tasks.
They are still firmly either a Goose or a Duck and can win with the normal Goose or Duck win conditions. The Lover modifier is an additional win condition with an additional risk.

I know there's been some chat of hidden achievements and whether they can be earned on MM or other upcoming Victorian era maps. On that note, can R-ejected only be earned on MS/BS/NC? I'm just going to assume that's a yes if I don't hear back.
I'm not a hundred percent sure on it, but I believe getting voted out on MM contributes to R-ejected
Question for Devs -- What was behind the decision to now have everyone spawn at the dinner table in the manor after every round? Why is the random spawn taken away? I'm not sure what is being gained by having everyone disburse in the same area instead of giving everyone a moment of space to start the next round

There is currently an explore mode allowing you to try out the maps and do tasks, and this just reminded me, I just held Shawn up against a wall, to make it so the explore mode goose can check out the vent system / hiding spots, which may make it into the next update.
It would be really cool if you could choose a different colour than white goose in Explore mode

new UI is so huge, kinda liked the overview when everything was smaller
It's in preparation for the upcoming mobile release, to streamline everything. The old UI will always have a place in my heart, but spending the past few days with this new one, I've gotten used to it. When switching back over to the old UI after testing the new one, the old one started feeling more and more clunky and outdated. Give it some time, I'm sure you'll come around.
I actually dont get drops for much at all. Like its rare I get a drop for anything no matter what object it is

New UI is great, but it feels a bit off that in the game selection menu, if I press the up arrow it goes down to the next option and vice versa. Could it perhaps be changed to go up if I press the up arrow and down by pressing down?
Could we also get some darker colors like forest green, a darker blue, a darker purple, and then perhaps a couple of unlockable colors like a silver and gold?
I haven't played a match yet since the update, so my opinion is very subject to change. I don't think I like the fact that bodyguards can have a neutral as a target. Being a protected vulture for example seems like it would be very frustrating as you can't eat many bodies without being seen by the bodyguard assigned to you, only having the start of rounds to make plays which might not even be enough time before the bodyguard finds you.
The reason we did this is simple, if you know your target is limited to only geese then you're increasing the knowledge of what roles someone isn't. Knowing someone isn't a goose and is a neutral is actually a lot more powerful than you think.
We provide handy check-marks next to roles that allow you to choose whether to play with them or not. We have 24 roles right now and we suspect that not everyone is going to enjoy playing with them all. 🙂
Once again I haven't played yet since I'm a bit busy at the moment, so my opinion about my little nitpick about the role will very likely change after actually trying it. Overall I really like the idea of the role and can't wait to try it.

Spectating isn't so simple but it can be done. We're not saying no, but we are going to say not right now. We have ideas on how to do it but want to make sure.

Having played some matches, my opinion about the bodyguard getting neutral targets has shifted completely and I find it quite enjoyable. Mayhaps the bodyguard could win alongside their neutral target if they win, but I'd imagine that could be too farfetched.
I played a few games as Bodyguard and most of my games I spent looking for the target. Maybe if the Bodyguard could get an arrow that follows target, sorta like vulture does with bodys

Spectating is a + but it doesnt need to happen right now. The Best think at the moment for me would be that when you Press go and it tells you that the loby is playing a game there should be an option to leave and an option to stay. When you sellect stay you will stay loading and when the game ends it ll automaticly put you in the lobby so you dont have to check it every 5 mins.
Only issue ı can see with this is that the users sound will be 0 and when they Join from the waiting they wont Press ready and people will wait for them but if that is the case you can just kick the user out
So you only did demo and not the full escape room. If you do the full you can unlock the cosmetic.

The new gold/silver coins look like super generic mobile game coins now, which I really don't like. I really liked the old designs as they had a lot of charm and were unique to GGD.

These new hitman and bodyguard roles have a huge meta/broke aspect that in my opinion because it pretty much allows the dodo to be instantly cleared by the bodyguard which i feel ruins the point of that role. i think the dodo should be excluded from the possible target, granted the other neutrals can be protected it doesnt make sense for the dodo.

I have to somewhat agree on "Bodyguard protecting Neutrals" can lead to weird situations.
A Bodyguard might be assigned to protect whomever the Sheriff is trying to kill. And if both are successful at performing their job, it's 2 geese down in favor of a Neutral.
Bodyguard can protect neutrals, so the VIP could be a Vulture Falcon or Pigeon too.
So the bodyguard knows the VIP is not a Duck, but that's not the same as being clear

I know it's been responded to above already, but just wanting to echo UI feedback that the navigation arrow buttons moving the selection in the opposite direction of the arrow are counter intuitive.
When switched we get more complaints
Its more intuitive for most people to move the wheel in the direction of the arrow.
if you click on the target you want to bring forward, it will move the wheel that way.

Just want to reiterate I've heard from several folks saying the Hitman should not target neutrals and/or lovers, and I stand behind this. What you call "interesting," many people find infuriating.
Putting it next to only a goose gives a hard clear. This is far less interesting and takes out a ton of gameplay.
I'm honestly not sure which is worse for the state of the game, the hard clear or it being infuriating.

Yeah when I'm host I'll probably have Hitman/Bodyguard off. It just seems like it's so easy for the hitman to kill the target, and it really sucks getting killed early as a Neutral because there's a target on your back. It already seems hard enough to win as a neutral without this being added to the mix.
overall im pretty okay with all this. all our role additions are purely optional, and from what i can tell a lot of people are having fun with the new roles
its always been our stance to give players new options and people shouldn't really feel any pressure to play with them
I don't think they're disrupt the balance of the game in a way that ruins the game
if we find that there is overwhelming dislike of the role we'll update accordingly
like when we nerfed the poor birdwatcher into the ground

It should be difficult to win as a neutral. It should be 1/n - where n is players in game.
You're on your own team, if it was as easy to win as a neutral as it was a duck or a goose the game would feel terribly broken
For my lobby on MM map, 1 Falcon wins as many times as a 2 duck team. That may change as the meta evolves. Not complaining; I think the Falcon should rightfully win more than 1/n games similar to how the monster in DBD should win more than 1/5 games. But MM is especially helpful to the Falcon since there are several good places to hide. If the Falcon Hunt mode wasn't a thing, then I would expect the Falcon to win 1/n times. But it's still a new role so I imagine people will get better at sniffing out the Falcon as time goes on. Example, last night someone in my lobby admitted to killing someone but then proved they weren't the Falcon by getting everyone to skip vote and after everyone voted, they named a player and voted for that player.
It felt a little cheesy to people so we didn't do it after that.
If you know where those hiding spots are, it's usually a good idea to grab your fellow duck and corner the falcon. The Falcon Hunt was added to prevent ducks from hiding in vents/closets denying the falcon from ever winning in a 2v1 or 1v1 scenario.
And basically holding lobbies hostage in the process.
Yeah, the reason for it to prevent hiding makes sense. But most of the time when it's down to falcon hunt mode there's 1 or zero ducks remaining and likely the remaining 2 players are not with each other to try to coordinate a falcon hunt at all within the span of just 60 seconds. And if you don't have a kill button then race to task win is the best you can do as a goose.
Again, I'm not complaining. I think the Falcon SHOULD win more often than vulture / dodo / pigeon.
And in our games, we have had goose wins by task win before Falcon Hunt expired or, in one game, the Vigi found the Falcon at 1 second remaining.
Even still, Falcon wins just as many times as 2 ducks
In my experience, with more of the veteran players, the ducks check the library balcony for falcons/dodos and they take them out early, or the falcon knows that area is being watched, which forces them out of hiding making them more vulnerable, and especially in the falcon's case to slip up and make a sloppy kill.
I'm not saying Neutrals should be easy. What I'm saying is that it isn't necessarily common to get a Neutral role; I'm personally excited when I do. The Hitman can almost always get their kill off round 1-2, which just means I have no chance of winning, not because someone determined my role, not because I was not playing poorly, but because the game assigned me as a target to be killed by a duck. It just feels a lot less fair because it takes very little skill to shut down someone who is on their own team when the target is a Neutral. Neutrals are the worst role to die as, so dying early to Hitman just makes for a crappy experience IMO.
You know I just went through a round with the new Hitman and Bodyguard roles and I didn't expect that the Falcon can be their Target. It came as a big surprise, but luckily for the Falcon, they killed the Hitman and the Bodyguard thought they were Sherif or Vigilante. I'm not saying it's anything wrong with that, just it came as a surprise since that was the first time I've experienced when a Neutral role became the Hitman and Bodyguard's target
Birdwatcher is a lot of fun, but it's kinda frustrating when the lights go out and negate your ability. What if the birdwatcher could see in the cark while using their ability?
its still something that instantly screws the dodo right from the get go and i dont feel that its fair to who ever gets that role. for that reason i will likely keep the bodyguard off

You're totally free to play how you want! One of the great things about GGD is how flexible it is to player preferences.
I think if I were a Dodo and suspected I had a Bodyguard following me around, I would try to act like a Pigeon, never stopping to do tasks and making sure to run up on other birds and then run away. But that's just one possibility. Maybe you DO have a Bodyguard following you, the Hitman tries to kill you and your Bodyguard dies instead. The body is reported and the Hitman Duck is probably not going to admit to it. You could feign a weak defense and still get voted out for the win. Also also, assuming a full lobby with three Ducks, the Dodo would only have a 1/12 chance to be the VIP (since one Bodyguard Goose would be required), so that whole situation should be relatively infrequent anyway.
One of things I dislike about a role where you are paired with someone like lover and bodyguard/Target is you have no idea who your lover or target is until you either come across them or a meeting gets called. Part of me just wants to ring a bell every time at beginning just so I can see. I don’t know if it’s been suggested before, but especially for lovers, perhaps have them be identified on the load in screen where it tells you your role, like it does with ducks and it shows you the other ducks (+mimic) if enabled.

Before I just put this in let me talk to the team. We're all in unison that it affects zero of the gameplay; you can't find them faster.
There is a sense of joy and surprise of finding them in the game versus the meeting.
There is no greater feeling, than realizing you're a lover, and then spawning with your lover.
I don't remember for sure about Hitman, but on the initial role screen for bodyguard it tells you who to protect

I don't think its an elimination, its looking for a pink name, and then you find out anyway at first meeting. I just think knowing at the start could be beneficial. And I'm sure like Blind Ducks, this option could be turned on or off. (Blind Lovers?)
As in eliminating possibilities that its your lover.. then I find out its my nemesis and run away screaming
We don't want to fill the new UI with a bunch of toggles. Custom settings can't be the answer to everything.
Blind Ducks changes a lot in terms of game play, adds a bunch more deduction.
Knowing who is your lover at the very beginning changes nothing in terms of gameplay

Like when people forget to vote? I like that GGD developers made this an automatic skip. One thing I hated about another Social Deception game was then they just wouldn't vote and someone could get sniped distracting people from voting and someone gets sniped out.

right now you can tie with skips, or skips beat the vote count
the toggle would null the skip counts, so say 13 people skip, 2 vote for 1, 1 votes for 1... the person with 2 votes dies

The reason it would never work is this: 15 players vote skip, spy duck votes 1 person, that person gets voted out. You could intentially force people out. I wouldn't say cause HOAs use it it makes it a good idea.
It also takes away the choice to not kill anyone since they don't count. a skip isnt a non-vote its a "i dont want to kill anyone this round as the evidence is inconclusive"

If I have a role that gives me the ability to kill, why is it when I am getting chased and spamming my kill button, if the other person catches up to me, that I die? I have never come out on top in a situation where I am being chased to be killed.
Usually if both are spamming kill buttons it comes down to who has the lowest latency to the host

No problem, we are coming from among us and the difference feels very very odd. Not a deal breaker though the experience overall is wonderful.

It is possible, and it is one of the more hotly debated things we've discussed internally
My feedback on this is 2 is the sweet spot. Otherwise it could become too OP. It gives caution just handing out ur role at the beginning if there is a potential of an assassin. It also makes shooting right away a strategy thing. You could save ur shot as as assassin for later in game to take out a goose or neutral to win if u play ur cards right. Overall I think it’s tuned pretty well 🙂

I believe the UI for crafting is confusing, for new and novice players, they may not realize what the craftables are and not understand which ones are killing animations and which ones are cosmetics.

Yeah I want to say 2 assassin kills is the sweet spot. Most games I get two shots off and could get more off if I had more shots. Really good players could get a ton of shots off if allowed, even though inexperienced players often shoot themselves.
I agree, even though it seems strange to veteran players, I think the new UI actually does make more sense as it sorts things into clear categories. My main complaint is that the option for changing your color is so small that it is easy to miss.
Also when you leave the gui to cosmetics you need to press the arrow the leave or it won't confirm your changes

I would just like to voice my concern for the fork in the clean dishes task in the kitchen. I take my cutlery extremely seriously and the fact that this fork has not 3, not 4, but FIVE prongs is preposterous. I imagine the person who thought this was a good idea is also the type of person to cut with their knife upside down and with their fork in their right hand while cutting their food, or perhaps they even just use a spoon for everything!

like if i were to complete every achievement i wouldnt have enough gold coins to purchase certain cosmetics

like for example the secret achievements mainly only give 1 coin and theres about 40 achievements or so
i havent reached some of the higher milestones give more if not then im not sure
Oh anything that costs more than 25 gold or so you wont be able to earn without supporting the game.

None of our game content is locked behind a paywall.
It's entirely free to play.
We understand not everyone wants to or can't support us but we wanted to make sure those who do can look a lot "cooler" while they play 🙂

Anything that is craft-able and silver can easily be earned with time.

Small request but maybe add some hats for silver coins? Not counting those 2 that are unlockable + 500 silver coins. Pets remaining as golden coins only + crafting seems good enough, but hats though. Just an opinion ofc.
If the game wasn't free to play, I'd say it would be a fairly resonable request. None of the gameplay is locked behind any pay walls, so the only way the devs make any money is on people wanting the hats. When mobile is released, there may be more opportunities to earn gold.
Just a small worry that's been bothering me but
Isn't the thing that basically killed among us was the fact that mobile players wouldn't play the same and it would ruin the game for other people that wanted to actually play the game?
Is there a plan to avoid that or help with that issue?

The mobile version has not sacrificed ANY quality, features, or gameplay. Voice chat still works, and sounds great, all your cosmetics carry between versions. The only real difference is your input. I've played with people in live games that were blown away when they found out I was on mobile, as they would have had no clue otherwise.
