A suggestion for the friends interface, is it possible to add a feature like we can add nicknames for our friends in the friends interface, u know, as for now, the username and actual in-game name shown in the room can be quite confusing and hard to tell who's using that actual name in the room with showing their username in your friend list

The actual game servers are not overloaded it is the supporting systems feeling the pressure, we believe we have it under control now for the most part as we have had no down time today so far.
We believe the audio issues some experienced today could be related to ddos attempts that we have mitigated throughout today. It might of been where people are using VPNs and. Accelerators that these bot attacks use and may of got caught up in the ip bans. Usually a new room would help sort these issues if experienced.

A lot of the maps have unique sabotage music. I know the Jungle sabotage music is different from all the others, and I think the Ducktorian one is different from Space. It's just the sacrifice you're making from playing in the sand.

I had no idea what this is, I just saw it exploding on steam and looking like Among Us.

I see what you guys did. You can tell this is "from players" kind of a project.

You combined "Among Us" (duh) and the likes of "Mafia" (with the roles and all) and it has turned out brilliantly.

The game is easy to get into, the UI and everything is playful and great.

Overall, it's fantastic and it is great fun with a couple of friends.

Hi, is it possible to consider adjusting the number of tasks that the goose players need to complete in private game. For example, in a game with a small number of players (like 8-10), most goose players will not completing tasks. They would like to talk in group. Its not good. They think it's more cost effective to win by voting in meeting stage. So I think you guys can adjust the amount of tasks that goose players need to complete. That way, They don't get obsessed with the voting time, but instead think about getting tasks done quickly and winning.

In my opinion, actively trying to complete a task should be the main goal of a goose. If meeting time is the goose's main way to win, the game will be boring. But in fact, a large number of Chinese players do this.

not sure if a bug or not, but I was Ninja role in new AS map. slashing did not slash. I went the entire campaign without a single kill. I haven't seen ninja show up again, so did I do it wrong by getting the Ninja at all?!

I couldn't vote in a meeting, and also couldn't call the bell just now despite clicking it.

Strange bug. Others also couldn't vote, and one person was unable to report a body.

Someone believes that this bug may have begun when they were playing as Ninja Duck.

They tried to double kill on two people stacked on top of eachother, and only one person died.

The role seems to be broken on Ancient Sands specifically. Not functioning the way it should.

While the account name is always unique, I believe the ability to change in-game names was left as freely changeable because some groups like to be able to freely change their names. If a user tries to exploit this ability to change the name, the host should be the one to decide if a user stays or not, like kicking the offender.

As for players getting confused, that is part of the game. Lots of people wear the same cosmetics to also confuse people, but their feathers will always be unique, so if there are duplicates in some fashion, try to clarify that way.

I think Meow means that impersonators give the real people a bad reputation, which can lead to insta kicks/blocks.

But that's pretty hard to deal with.

They might be able to limit the game so people can't have the same name, but then that'll significantly lower the name options for people.

I'm nearing level 30 I believe, after about a week of playing this game. So far it's been a great experience and I love it. I've met many wonderful people, which is my favorite part of the game honestly. Win or lose, if I made someone smile or laugh then that round was a victory to me. Hard to say I've felt that way about a game before. Not every lobby is good ofc, some lobbies are filled with children or have hosts who aren't kicking Chinese stragglers (no offense, language barrier makes it impossible), but when I find a good lobby host and start inviting the friends I've made over the week, there is no better experience to be had.
Good job to the dev team, thank you for the game and good luck with bugs/server issues.

Hello! I just played a game of Goosehunt on Ancient Sands with some friends and encountered a game-breaking bug. There was only one Goose left and the timer ran out for the Duck, but for some reason the game didn't end. This gave the Duck an unlimited amount of time to find the last Goose and kill them, stealing the win for themselves.

If the mummy have been mentioned already, I apologise for already bringing it up, but it isn’t balanced at all.

Me and a couple friends were playing on the new map for the first time, we played for around an hour or two, and every round ended with the mummy killing every player in the lobby, for us it seemed to last forever until the round ended, and it seems to almost teleport or be able to our run the player.
I like the concept of the idea, being that it’s undead and curses the player, however when the game becomes unplayable due to it, I think that means there might be a slight issue with it

I just don’t believe there should be something that has the ability to kill the entire lobby instantly in a mater of seconds, there was a point were 2 people were dead, in which the mummy was spawned and a total of 9 people died in around 10-20 seconds if that

@hallow shore The mummy is tricky to deal with, but not impossible. It only lasts for 60 seconds (which can feel like an eternity), and is slow enough that you can trap it on the other side of a table. It always spawns from the same spot, and will disappear when a meeting is called, either of a new body or ringing the bell. Practice will help you get better at dealing with it.

Still, the fact that a meeting or a exploit/trapping has to be used on something just to make the game even playable does not seem appealing

It isn’t necessarily the speed or spawn that actually ruins the mummy itself

It’s more so it’s ability to kill everything in its radius without cool-down, that plus it’s buggy ai to sometimes teleport or literally phase through walls, isn’t really something I find fun

And the fact it can be spawned in at the start of pretty much every round

Even trying to stop it from being spawned doesn’t work as ducks can spawn it in whilst dead

A group of players can be killed in a matter of seconds

We played a round at the start of our session, in the first minute of the round 6 players had already died, just from the mummy

I understand that it can be countered and is slow, and the fact is has been balanced to be avoidable

But the fact it can wipe out a group of players almost instantly due a simple mistake or comes down to mile seconds of reaction time, make rounds on the new map entirely skill based, no fun was occurring in that lobby

I think the aspect of the idea is good, I just don’t think something should have the ability to kill anything it touches or is nearby, without cool-down, it’s basically an un-killable almost unavoidable ticking timebomb in most scenarios

A cool-down or maybe it’s ability to eliminate only a single player could balance it

Or you could only use it once per round

I just don’t see how having something like that in the game, makes it especially fun

The demo gave some one a bomb and before they died we called a meeting and voted the last duck off. The white writing on the contrasting yellow map makes me have to bring my eyes closer to my computer and it hurts. I noticed that there are no Simplified Chinese translations for the in game store items(both the name tag and description are displayed in English when game language selected as Simplified Chinese aka “简体中文”). And I was working on the translation work with my friends during the last few days. So in case of our work clash with others. I would like to ask, does the official developing team currently working on or have the plan to make the English to Simplified Chinese store item translation? Or, is there any other individuals or groups are working on it that we can work collectively? Thanks!

It would be more efficient and accurate, most important, authentic, to let group of native speakers work collectively on the translation (specifically for store items). It would be a greater solution that to make a dedicated translation workshop channel for each sub lfg-language group, to let people there decide what translation should be used, and make the final translation report directly to the developer team.

Game Content: I'm not entirely sure what you mean by a row. Maybe you mean a queue? I've heard that the idea is being considered, but with the game growing so quickly in a short time span, it may take a while to implement.
Reporting: While no one enjoys an unpleasant game experience, one must be careful not to let it get out of hand. If you have screenshots or video proof of bad behaviour, things that go against the terms of service and the like, feel free to use the tools available to report them (eg, #troubleshooting-and-bug-reports). But if you feel unsatisfied with those tools, what specifically would you suggest to improve reporting bad actors.

As soon as it's ready! The gaggle team develop quickly, and we release patches fairly often. We don't often give out firm dates because it's either going to be a lie if we're wrong, or it'll be a rushed product that might sacrifice quality for speed. This could translate into releasing something without sufficient testing and creating lots of bugs for the game.

If you find none of that explanation sufficient, as Herbert always says, today we are one day closer than yesterday.

Yesterday there was some trivia happened as some Chinese players had reached the 'red line' involving politics which is pretty sensitive and serious in China, and caused the streaming platforms, Douyu, BiliBili, etc to shutdown or pause streaming of the game.

This game is brought back to life because of the streamers in China and the Chinese players composed a big bulk of the total players, if streaming stops it certainly will have a big impact on its player base.

Consider adding a feature to hide player's name and replace their nickname with colors, green, blue, red if this incident worsens.

You really need to get professional help on translation, and manage your translations better. Pushing out scheduled updates like this with everything new still untranslated for all other languages is not good for your international audience. The Esper is still having its old description in other languages! 🙃

Seriously, it's nothing difficult or expensive. Just prepare your text a few days prior and send them to the translators, so that all languages can be updated in one go and everyone gets to enjoy new content without confusion

The light post near the bottom right of the bank in that corner seems to have changed properties somewhat. Before the update you could hug the wall and walk right through but now you have to walk around instead. Was this an intended change? The reason why we used the mosaic is because there is a bug in the current version. The game hides the room code by default, right? But as soon as you restart the game or drop then reconnect the room, the code will be displayed. So it will show the code to the audience.

I feel like there's a missed opportunity for a map interaction on Ancient Sands. The first thing I thought when I saw the crocodile sitting in the water near where we fill our buckets for the Fire sabotage was "Wow, I wonder if that works like the furnace/river on The Basement?"

Much to my dismay, it does not function that way, but I feel like it'd be cool if it did. That way Ducks have an incentive to lure people into that area to avoid leaving bodies, and it gives the Undertaker Duck a place to dispose of corpses aside from just dragging them into the Fog.

If there are concerns about this potentially being OP when the Fire sabotage is called (i.e. Ducks can just kill freely while everyone is grabbing water), maybe this function could be disabled then?

So I will have to say Esper is my favorite duck so far! I annihilated over half of the lobby w/o sus... all the while whispering creepy nursery rhymes or counting down from 5. It is so great watching the target and onseer's reactions when the target realizes what is happening. 12/10 for me in all catagories!!Oh my gosh... it takes some practice but it is SO creepy and amazing. This duck was made for my style play. It's the content for me. The laughs that I have had being the esper today were almost a killer, IRL. Haha

I keep running into bad players that leave before they can get kicked, and rejoin with a new name, and act horrible during the game. I'm sure one or both of these have been suggested before but possibly a cooldown on changing your name would be nice or a vote to kick system heart

Best way to avoid that is to control who gets the code for a private game. For public games, playing in level 25+ lobbies will prevent most trolls from being able to join

You can also check the friends list to see if they have the same account name or not. While you can change your in-game name freely, it costs 3 gold to change the account name, and will help you track bad people.

A vote to kick system would then go against the hosts wishes. If the host wants somebody in the lobby then they want them there. I’d suggest if you have an issue with a player in ur lobby to speak to the host and if the host says no then you may want to find a diff lobby :/

I apologize for the delay. It was the lobby host and several inside the lobby. The lobby host was streaming, and the stream was not laggy or any other signs that would point to connection issues. We need some VPN channels in China channel. There is tooooo much players use vpn. Different pings make everyone see each other different. I suggest that same/nearly ping plays better with each other. High ping play with low ping play bad even mic works bad by this way. So think is better that we distinguish between Normal and vpn players. (Maby is better we make a server select before player inside game so they can choose between Asian, Europe, American or Afrika server like other game. ) Maybe its hard to fix more serve romms for u guys right now but we can at least fix it in discord, its cost nothing by this way.

Unfortunately the whole point of a vpn is to obfuscate where players are coming from. We can't know unless they disclose it to us. We do not have Chinese servers so our games are hosted across the APAC region. If you're playing in the US, its a good idea to specify you're a US host.

According to Shawn they get over 1000 emails daily with a lot of them being spam, false reports, or people asking for free stuff. It takes awhile to make it through a mess like that. Multiple emails about the same issue will only exacerbate the issue.

Someone in a public game is being toxic/abusive/swearing/racist

Unfortunately, we cannot control when bad actors enter a public game, but we do empower you by providing tools to help moderate these games. Conversations that go on in public games are still private, and we do not have access to the audio in any way. You can block or mute the relevant players in-game and use the in-game censoring filter. You can report the offending player as well, and these reports will be attached to their account, and may result in bans. If you are the lobby host, you can kick the offending players, and if you are not the host you can ask the host to kick them. Players who are kicked will not be able to rejoin the game unless permitted back in by the host. If the player in question is the host, and a sufficient number of players block their mics, they will be kicked from the game, and once again that will be reflected on their account.

The developers actually addressed this in one of the dev logs. It simply isn't feasible to block every form of racial slur because people find all sorts of ways around it, like swapping an i for a 1, spacing the word out, using a different language or a combination of these etc

It might not be feasible to block every mispelling but that's a poor excuse to not try and censor even correctly spelled racial slurs. I don't think turning off the censor setting because you're okay with swearing means it should be open season with slurs.

I wonder if the report function can be exploited, or end up getting the wrong people banned.

Had a public game recently where someone was being very rude in a meeting, constantly harassing others. But it was a chaotic game and sometimes people forget who was who. I wore a similar cosmetic piece, and in the next round I was killed by a duck in public. In the next meeting, the duck said I was the one who was acting rude, so they used their vigilante ability to take me out before I harass anyone else. The duck then called other players to report me. I don't really know if the duck has been lying on purpose or if they really mistook me as the bad actor, but the geese were convinced, and applauded the "righteous kill". I think I must have received several reports during that game but I've done nothing wrong. sad

After the game I was kicked out of the room before I could have explained anything. Probably the worst game I've had, ever... And I worry that if I would end up getting banned should this happen again. I can definitely see that there would be horrible people using it as a strategy

Devs would look over the report, see you did nothing wrong, and consider it a false report. If it makes you feel better, those guys that falsely reported you without even letting you explain risk getting in trouble themselves for falsely reporting you.

I’ve mentioned it before but I think that it would be a good idea to add something in draft made. You can only see the information of the roles that get selected but not the roles that get random. This leaves new players with the inability to get info on their role if they hit random.

So maybe adding something at the top that indicates that they hit random but it still tells them their role information.

Would be nice to convert higher star tokens into silver or green ones instead of having a bunch of star tokens lying around for a crane you don't plan on unlocking. We could do this if we charged a license fee for the game. Cosmetics don't prevent you from enjoying the game itself. We want people to give us what they can/want in exchange for us giving you what we can. We understand that people want to make getting everything for free easier but in order to keep the game running there are some things we can't make concessions on.

There seems to be a problem with the gold token machine. Gold tokens show a drop rate of about one per week, but compared to other machines, it seems that the probability of silver coins or white tokens is set too high to be serious. Although the difficulty of collecting gold tokens is very difficult, it seems that the drop rate of other skins is set too low. Do you have any intention of increasing the supply and demand of gold tokens or adjusting the balance so that only one gold token draw is consumed at a time?

Personally I love the esper duck, the way it kills sneakily is damn good, and the extra taunting in vc is hilarious happy Also once as the esper I was able to escape out of the pelican on my own, I used my ability on them seconds before they ate me, and then I watched as they died 10 seconds later, it was epic dodo One of my fave duck roles tongue

Seems unfair that the developers have to pay for their food, houses, and server costs, but thems the breaks. Considering how much content they do give out completely free, i'm not upset in the slightest that they have a few cosmetic items that they charge to access. It is also a one time payment as well.

I don't believe you'll get flagged for leaving while dead, though you don't get end game rewards like tokens.
Also, if you are dead as a duck, you can still help your team. If you really need to leave then you should at least unlock any locked sabotages first.

There were many cases where I had to leave alive, and the worst I have gotten was a 1 minute ban. I don't recommend testing this unless you have to though.

All in all, if you have to leave for something, then nothing bad should happen unless you leave a ton of games in a row while alive.

I still get warnings when I leave a game midway through, and I was only spectating those. So I wouldn't leave a game unless something IRL demands it.

As soon as it's ready! The gaggle team develop quickly, and we release patches fairly often. We don't often give out firm dates because it's either going to be a lie if we're wrong, or it'll be a rushed product that might sacrifice quality for speed. This could translate into releasing something without sufficient testing and creating lots of bugs for the game.

If you find none of that explanation sufficient, as Herbert always says, today we are one day closer than yesterday.

i agree with this very much. as a mobile player who uses the directional pad it’s extremely annoying to have to so obviously stop on ppl just to tag them. i also don’t like how the give bomb button is above the button you’d expect it to be, you don’t know until you finally catch someone that it’s in a different spot which has caused me to die on so many occasions and actually had me confused thinking the game was broken bc of the amount of times i thought i was spamming the pass bomb button.

The rate of getting gold tokens for claw machines versus pulling white tokens/silver from the gold token claw machine is a bit disheartening. Twice now I've pulled either white tokens or silver with my 2 very hard earned gold tokens from the gold claw machine. (I am no where near out of things to pull in that machine either)

@wicked raven I disagree with the points you made. For cosmetics, the flashier and more unique the outfit, the more it stands out. Also you can always see what color the bird is under the outfits. As for updates making people "spoiled", having too few makes the game feel stagnent. I'm sure people would be bored quickly is nothing was new for a year.

Most of the tasks have the clues hidden in the names.
"Dust for prints" would imply you are needing to 'dust' something to find prints, the term 'dust' here coming from forensics where they literally put dust (chalk dust I think) on items and then very lightly brush the excess off, to find fingerprints.

So for the "Dust for prints" tasks, the feather must be dragged over the object until you find a finger (wing)print and keep going until its clearly distinguished / visible

The only role that breaks the game is the celebrity, ducks cant counter it, he is like canadian, but 10x worse. Canadian u need to tell someone, celebrity dont; Canadian have counters, like professional or demolitionist, celebrity can be countered, with luck, by spy; Nobody needs to be celebrity, just that existing in the game is a problem, bc the ducks cant know if has a celebrity or not even on draft; Nobody can fake celebrity, only the celebrity can "fake" celebrity; Ducks and neutrals cant know about the celebrity, so the geese use this to make the answer: "Did the celebrity die?", with luck u can pass that, but then, if yes, they can answer: "When? what round?" with an absolute huge luck or u have spy u can pass that too, then they can ask: "Was at the start or at the end of that round?" If u have a spy with luck to find the celebrity and kill that u can pass this too, but that doesnt matter if someone else kills it, bc "U didnt react the celebrity when it has died", celebrity can confirm whit that, bc even the spy cant know WHEN it died, only geese, if someone say, "oh someone died", that is a confirmed goose, CONFIRMED. How can that be in a deduction game? U dont need to deduct anything, I say that to players, then I need to hear: "But if is in the game is to use" or "So if u dont like just dont play". It needs a rework, please.

the celebrity loses all it's power the moment it's used in a conversation, and it's one of the few roles that stands to actively lose power when someone learns of their role
Also: geese reacting publicly to a celebrity dying is a genuinely terrible plan as it then informs the other person that the celebrity is dead, and I don't know many people who'd lynch someone because "they didn't react to celebrity death"

Another thing to note: the celebrity's abilities create an incredibly specific playstyle - Someone who is incredibly dismissive about claiming their role, and is actively trying to die

#

Also it's really easy to claim celeb in a pinch early on; you would obv be hiding it (so the ducks don't learn about it), and would have to use it as a last resort

#

As such; accusing someone you suspect of being a celebrity as being a duck/nuetral is an incredibly effective strategy, as their options are now A: die, B: counter and possible die, or C: claim celeb (all of which are bad)

#

Final tip: most geese will never pull the "Is the celeb alive", if the celeb hasn't died, and not knowing exactly when is incredibly easy to chock up to human error
(also there's nothing stopping you from asking it yourself)

First, u can be asked about the celebrity any time, is just easier to say its alive with a lot of player alive and dead when a lot of players is dead, if u react the celebrity, U ARE CONFIRMED as long as one player who heared is a goose. In my region, just to dont know about the celebrity is a easy lynch, everyone plays around the celebrity, if u know, u are safe, if u dont know, u are evil, anyone u want to confirm mid game u can do it
