This is a common issue with a lot of JRPG games, I did this with the original phantasy star. There was no internet or guides or even magazines when the sega master system came out. well this isnt what made me lose interest in playing but it is something i didnt like. i noticde whenever duck came out of a vent they had a 3 second kill cooldown regardless if it was initially 0 making vent kills not possible cus they can just run away making it less stealthy. also going through vents in ggd isnt as clean. idk how to describe it

This is too strong and breaks the game. We play tested this. This only works on small maps We need some sort of cooldown. Vent killing is great but it takes away from the whole social deducktion of the game.

Right now one of the things we noticed about AU is that you can vent camp the entire time and execute players without ever risking anything. It's almost too easy and vents become the main/only strategy for winning.

We hated this part of the game because it meant even low skilled players who are terrible at social deduction can reap destruction on even skilled players.

We noticed a lot of players relying on this too heavily. Although it is fun for the ducks we thought it was too flat as a game plan. The vents aren't designed to help you kill they are designed to help you get away from a kill.

You can still use door sabotage to lock people in and kill that way; we also found when you wait a few seconds before doing it; it was way more fun for the players. The tension of not knowing if that person is pigeon or a mechanic/snoop.

We also created other roles to make killing more interesting rather than just having a plain ol' duck.

All in all I think the take away here is that while AU has a lot of beauty in it's simplicity GGD doesn't compare considering the roles and the specific design choices we made. It's up to the user to find the gameplay that they enjoy more. We've noticed though that most AU players generally switch and stick to our game because it offers a fresh feeling that has a deeper rabbit hole of strategy once you start meta playing.

Our new draft mode will also change how things work as well.

If you're new to social deduction or GGD I would recommend starting with classic game mode and slowly adding those roles in to get started.

Once you're comfortable with those it really comes down to experimenting.

A good rule of thumb is to keep neutrals limited early on (vulture, pigeon and falcon)

For every 5 players its good to have at least 1 duck, I wouldn't suggest going to 2 until you are at 8+

If you want to go to three I suggest also turning on the mimic

The mimic makes ducks think twice about killing so it slows them down

I think the problem a lot of people had, is Nexus colony had just come out and it's the birdwatcher's weakest map, as many of the walls are really thick. Mallard Manor is probably birdwatcher's best map.

Medium is useful especially later on imo. When you can account for people and see another body drop you can clear them from killing it.

At the beginning of the game don't use it until about 30 seconds in. You need to remember who you see and walk past, Keep tapping it until there is a ghost and then immediately backpedal. You will usually get a ton of information or catch someone running from the scene.

It's basically a protected witness, the ducks know who it is but it can't be assassinated. It decides when to reveal itself by completing a task.

When it does so, it's less likely to get murdered early in the game for bounty, so as long as it hangs out with other people it basically acts as a shield. No one will kill it early and no one will kill around it.

It's a sabotage task for ducks but it does not always spawn every game. You click the dots in order to connect the dots. After activating, you use the sabotage once per round to drop the chandelier, hopefully killing someone

Like in Nexus where you would either get the sabotage for Teleporter or Shuttle, in Mallard Manor you will either get the Chandelier or the Poison sabotage.

Yea, there's always one task. Some people it's smacking ants, others it's the gramaphone, some people have trouble with the matches, some people don't know how to unclog a toilet with a kitchen plunger. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, but the most important part is you recognizing them and taking the initiative to practice those weaknessess.

Improvement is improvement. You can listen to the audio when it's solved. I believe it's always the same audio track, so when you recognize what the solved track sounds like it should be easier for you to know if it has to be sped up or slowed down.

You're technically not wrong. Pitches are variations in the speed or rate of the vibrations. And if the record plays slower the sound waves come further apart and thus sound lower, more bass-y. Conversely, when it speeds up the sound waves comes closer and the pitch thus goes up.

Machines grab a ridicusly accurate number (some time from the current time) and then perform a equation the result then is
subtracted by the a number infinitly until it is less than the max number and at the end the result is your "random" number

Is anything TRULY random? Conversation for another day perhaps. Herb is right and I can confirm. You have to consider the distribution of roles across the entire player-set over hundreds of games.

If you don't, everytime you get a pattern of roles it might feel like you're getting the same ones.

Honestly, it's just the luck of the draw. The roles are randomly assigned, so you're just as likely to get a new role as the same role. But it does make the game more fun when you play with more people, because then you can play with more of the special roles!

Like @devout sleet said. The place of activation is the rope on the wall above and to the left of the chandelier carpet in the Foyer. But, like the other sabotages, it's not available in every single game. It randomizes.
