Yeah we get that in mmos. It's annoying, so I don't take part in that part of the game. I just do my own thing .. which is possible in mmos and maybe in your case less able to be done

When I started dungeon running with the guild .. I was trying different characters as the dungeon needed at the time .. every dps they told me wasn't quite up to par, lets try and help you figure out the problem .. the problem was I waited longer than other dpses to start attacking so my dps was always lower .. 15 years later and a few more dungeon runs and raids later and I ended up being raid healer for over 3 years and raid tank for another year. Legion was the year we finally found out which dps worked for me .. but by then the guild wasn't playing any more

I also only play games like that with people I know, in a full group, if I ever play a competitive game at all. That way I dont run into any sort of toxicity

Here's the thing. Practice is something you only ever have to do if you yourself want to. There will always be toxic people, and ironically all you can do is practice not to care about them or what they say. Personally feeling like you need practice on the other hand when you didn't before, that's a continuous thing. Things always change, people get better and worse all the time. Even the person who is ranked 1 in the world needs to practice every day to stay there, and might still not.

It all depends on what you personally want to get out of something, to hell with everyone else, it's not their life and they have no say in how you run yours

That's what I mean, that is a thing that will always happen, you will get worse and you will get better. But it's up to you to decide if that matters to you or not

as games update and release harder or more challenging content it makes sense to review and see if anything needs to change or adapt for that purpose. Outside of that, it's all on you and how you want to play and absorb it.

Cause I was going to ask, people who have played both WoW and FFXIV, there’s a major difference in content delivery. WoW let’s you level to max in 24 hours, and then you have farmable endgame content to do for a month or two. FFXIV forces you to do story for 3 weeks straight and you can’t get to endgame until you’ve done it and you can’t skip it.

Question was gonna be are you hoping to see more linear forced content limiting your progression or more sped through summarized “musts” and more freedom in Palia’s story?

Maybe a balance would be like a tutorial quest line, that introduces everything in a chain. You could have the option to skip it and then be dropped in the world with your skills.

Like for example I’ve played FFXIV for 3 weeks now, and I’m still not max level and I’m forced to only do the story. So I can’t play with anyone else yet, I just wanna get to endgame so I can play the game.

I never speed level .. it can sometimes take me a few weeks/months to level a character. And if I play enough I might get 3 characters to max level before the next expansion is due to come out

Same with borderlands, same with Diablo, etc etc. leveling is just locking content away from you, forcing you to progress to unlock everything before you’re allowed to use everything

WoW locked 80% of their content and features behind being max level. Dungeons, difficulty tiers, up to date crafting, zones, raids, expansion specific features. Leveling was just a way to stop you from getting to it. Whereas FFXIV has lots of story embedded in their leveling, but they’ve made it too slow so you never actually get to endgame.
I get there’s levels in an mmo but there needs to be some resemblance of balance

I've used the free boosts on an alt of a class that I have played before, just to bring them up to speed with the others .. with almost 50 alts a few get straggled behind a bit too far
