I've been around a while (I remember the 50k member hype

If you signed up at the webpage then you're good to go (I don't think it matters if you're from Europe). Right now we're waiting for the closed alpha that will most likely start in the first half of this year, so if you'll be chosen, then you'll get notified then (as far as I know)

To clarify signing up on the website is for testing chance and not a newsletter service. Regular Information on the game is on this server with their Twitter page also getting questions answered and their site gets updated periodically. As far as I am aware there were Europeans amongst the pre alpha testers so being a European shouldn’t be a factor to not being picked. It’s just that there are a limited number of slots and a large number of people interested in testing. In pre alpha we had 1.4k lucky people out of 80k. Alpha is said to have more people but we also have more people interested. At least 117k currently on this server.

Most of the Palia updates happen in this Discord or on the twitter. The only time they'd contact you directly is if you're selected for testing - otherwise you shouldn't be getting e-mails or external messages I don't think.

Shrew is very small, and so it takes them a while to hop hard enough on all of the keys to form sentences. There's also lots of space between 'q' and 'spacebar' in particular, so you can imagine how time-consuming the process can be.
