My suggestion: the Poppin's gecko.
It's large frills expand outward like an umbrella when in danger. To escape, it launches itself from high cliffs, the frills then act as a parachute to slow their descent so they land safely.

I liked my idea of having them have a separate calendar from us. Where every week was 1 season, and every month was a year. Then we can have seasonal stuff for crops and stuff every week. Also we could then have "year long celebrations" for what would be real world holidays. So the entire month of Dec would be the "Year of Giving" celebration.
Jan could be "The Year of New Beginnings"
Oct could be "The Year of Grim Tidings"

From what I have heard the 1hr=1d in the pre-alpha went over well for those who played. I think they were trying to get away from the 1:1 day cycle so they could have night and day events without excluding those who could not play during the night or day due to real life stuff.

Based on what features the game has (or doesn't have), I am hopeful they will meet this goal. For example, it sounds like they are avoiding any direct competitive player-vs-player elements. I play PVP games, and do enjoy them but having a game that I can turn to just be friends with other gamers, sounds really appealing to me.

We don't want to put a whole wiki inside the game, but we don't want you to feel like you gotta have a wiki open to even play. Exploration will be more about finding whats going on in a world where people and animals have their own thing going on and you're in the mix there.

if they do it probably won't be for a while .. it's still early on in its development. We've had invite only pre-alpha and invite only alpha is sometime in the first half of next year. What they do after then is still several months if not a year in the future. Based on their reluctance to even show info about the game until they are ready, I suspect they will do the same with the game as a whole. If you haven't already, sign up for test access. 🙂

There are many "prices" to be paid on the game market as is. There is the 1 time buy option, The Sub option, the free to play option, the Microtransaction option (aka the spawn of satan), or some combination there of. All we know is that they are not ready to talk about monetization yet.

Loot boxes are quickly falling out of favor in the industry because of countries straight up banning them (Belgium, Nederlands)
That being said, I find the most fair Loot Box system to be Overwatch. Its purely cosmetic and you earn loot boxes for playing meaning the purchase is optional.

The one thing I will note about "in-game currencies" is that it introduces the concept of "price shrouding." Similar to the model seen in the arcade entertainment industry (tokens, game cards). Price shrouding makes it easy to convince consumers to overpay under the guise that they are getting a good deal.

I do believe microtransactions when managed with the goals of supporting the product especially when the user doesn't have time to play, should be the standard in the overall industry.
Now when it comes to Palia. It is my hope the game encourages a pay for what cosmetics you want type of model if there is going to be a secondary microtransaction market. I can get if they have some cosmetic items be behind a pay-wall but only if the price is moderate (less than $5 realistically). I sincerely hope there are no gameplay boosters (which seem pointless for a non-Competitive game).
Otherwise I rather support a moderate subscription-based model.

Way too expensive to get all the items you might want.... And then another game I have with DLCs and I don't even bother waiting for sales because they are in my reasonable cost range But those are single player games .. for mmo's I have always felt that a regular payment ( month/quarter/biannual/annual etc ) would be more suited as it would ensure a regular fund to handler server repairs and purchases.

It wouldn't be unheard of for two browsers to both have issues with Google forms, but it's also possible there's some interference from a protective software on your PC or some kind of weirdness in your browser caches. If it helps, Firefox for sure works.

The wait hasn't been too bad, for what it's worth. The devs beep often in the Discord about what they've been working on, so we have plenty of opportunities to drop stacks of ideas on them during their many visits.

They said the world will be growing as the story progresses .. so unlikely to have a reset of the whole world. As one story finishes another chapter is started [S6] BuscoBear — 06/05/2021 Just because one story ends doesn't mean its all over. We'll start a new chapter together.

Pvp is very low on the scale .. with combat slightly above it. Hunting is the nearest to combat at the moment but they may add optional traditional combat at a later date and if they do consider PvP later on down the line that will be optional as well. But these could be well after release as they are not the priority.

Although .. Ashura's broom is a repurposed sword .. so does that mean all weapons outside of bow and arrow for hunting are removed or that he has just retired from needing it

Not always. We established a few months ago that Duck can vibrate through physical matter - that's how they keep sneaking into my house. I come down to investigate the slapping feet on my kitchen floor at 1am and often find them raiding the pantry with Turtle (every other time it's just Berry returning to his Chapaa roots). Turtle is probably getting in through the mail slot, but I can't just not have mail, right?
