If they simply name it something else and don't involve Santa at all, then there doesn't have to be any exclusions.
plenty of games do christmas and easter but make no reference to real life to make it feel like their own holiday.

Yeah, it seems like exactly the sort of MMO I’d be after. Most seem to only cater if you throw all of your spare time into them.

I noticed that straight away! I even saw that some of the people who played the pre alpha mentioned it made them feel like a nicer player and encouraged them to go out helping others!

Yeah, this def. feels like an MMO where you can throw as little or as much time as you want into it, but there doesn't feel like a "requirement" to be here

Nah, I get that. Some people do, I usually give out information if I have it. While others were never... quite as nice. It is a shame, too. There is never anything wrong with asking for help in my personal opinion. Can't be expected to know everything right away.

We don't know where the servers will be physically placed exactly. There won't be a server selection system and you won't be tied to a specific server. Your character will be assigned a server when you press PLAY. See a few dev comments regarding it here : #💬│palia-discussions message

no, there will be a way to play with friends and family. Check out one of the answers in the #❓│old-team-answers-alpha channel as I asked that question.

They have mentioned back in June that there might be some region restrictions .. but that's only if there are any ping/timing issues I suspect.

I’d imagine there could be restrictions due to other external factors rather than an active choice from the studio

If I have to assume... It might be how Fer.al works with their system. Like you can end up on different servers but if there is a spot open on the server you or your friend is on then you can join each other.

Yeah, kinda sounds like something at least similar .. they're using a machine learning algorithm that match makes people. So, if no friends or neighbours or anyone you have interacted with is online you may be placed on a server with a bunch of potential friends and aquaintenances. And then when your friends and neighbours log in they will probably join you or their other friends ... it's still new and they said they are still working on that aspect so hard to say exactly HOW it will work.

Because it seems like such a big new thing cuz it’s pretty much a new genre for mmos

But I’m happy the community it has on discord is so nice and helpful, I doubt it would be as nice as this with hundreds of thousands of active people

pretty much .. new and unique .. unique is a word the S6 devs like to use ... unique trading between players .. unique method to ensure everyone gets plenty to gather /harvest etc

They want the game to feel alive and not crowded .. so you should see enough people .. once they have balanced the range of numbers to use per physical server ( I assume ) they'll probably have server shifting to keep the servers 'alive'. Just a theory at my end there ..

yeah that was my question .. I wasn't sure how they would get started unless we had a starting point before the game goes live .. the idea is .. whether you have friends or not .. you log in.... if no friends already .. you have people around to start making connections and hopefully friendships. If you have friends .. search for them and group up etc whatever the game allows you to do .. and bam .. you can now play together .. and the good thing is the machine learning will learn from that so that you won't necessarily have to group up for it to work .. it will just learn that sometimes you do ... love that AI .. 🤣
