i'd like to rifle through the questions and answers regarding this but i can't find anything hinting at this (partly due to my inexperience with this program)—what's the plan for how many hours players can invest in the game every day? are there diminshing returns or timegates that hinder people from being able to theoretically play and advance consistently for 10-12 hours a day?

i'll be patiently waiting for a few months to a year or so and check back in. this project has piqued my interests from what was initially revealed in the trailer and its website.

welcome in! I think the goal the devs have is to allow players to play as much or as little as they want, without feeling like they are pressured to play every single day/grind levels (as they feel that is opposite of the cozy vibes that palia is going for)
that said, I haven't seen anything that says there would be game mechanics that would hinder anyone from spending all day playing! (I can see myself playing all day upon release)
definitely check in periodically for updates in the server. We are between testing phases now, as pre-alpha recently concluded. Not sure when alpha will start, but release is "much closer than 3 years" away lol

Yeah, what I have seen in the artwork. I am impressed with the style that they are going with. It is a nice breathtaking environment. That has the feel of the breath of the wild type of style. I want to see how complex. the house building will be and everything else in the world.

as far as grinding goes, here are a couple answers from one of the unofficial FAQs with answers from devs, might help

Character death? no death, or health even
Progression? Even though we're trying to avoid the typical grind of MMOs, you'll have lots of bars to fill up and levels to grind, yes

so, no health bar you have to worry about, and there will be some stuff to grind, just not like all mmos
