The case around Activision-Blizzard is as though as it can be already and many News Articles are covering it already. I'm sure that S6 is more then aware of it and handling it. I'll just say this one last thing and then won't add anymore: The difference between Acti-Bliz and S6 is that the higher ups in Acti-Bliz, as it looks like at the moment, knew about the problems and didn't do anything about it. But i'll give S6 the benefit of the doubt here that they might've not known about their employees past and hired them in good faith and now that certain things have come to light they'll deal with it appropriately internally. 🙂 I believe in the whole of S6 and won't suddenly look down on them because of 1 Person. Especially if I don't know the whole Story but only bits and pieces.

I just think of game companies like restaurants. If they tell me a pizza takes about 40 minutes to make, I wait about 40 minutes. If it takes longer, I might inquire, but if they say 'Yeah, the oven's struggling and it added about 20 more is that okay?' I'd be like 'yeah bro'.

I get pizza in the end, and sometimes a coupon for my next visit. Either way, a satisfying experience.

I say it's more relating to the whole process of said pizza. Like, everything is literally fresh. While they're growing the wheat and stuff for the dough, they're also raising the cows for cheese and pigs for pepperoni. So it'll be a while, and we're asked to come in later to get said pizza.

It's a project far too big for a small team's capabilities. They're pretty much trying to make Elite Dangerous, EVE and a new Wing Commander all in one game, but way bigger.

It's just very important to notify the community at the right time. Omori's development was weird. The kickstarters had no info on the project for like a couple of years, which resulted in backlash, which worsened the devs' mental state and made the development even slower. The result is awesome, but the process was harmful for the creators. I'm just glas everything worked out

In short, Star Citizen is a game based on a very old series of games called Wing Commander that was crowdfunded and spearheaded by the guy who designed the old games. Huge community coming-together around that, but it's been in development for a long long long long long time. Like Palia, it promised a lot of things to fans that they wanted from other MMOs and weren't getting. As of right now, it's a meme (like Duke Nukem Forever used to be). Let's just hope Palia's not going to try to keep adding infinitely to itself like SC seems to be.

For grinding mats like wood and certain items in the world, a "commission" coupd be put up for either NPC generated resources, which is steady and reliable but cheaper and yields less, or player generated resources where it could be unreliable and expensive but it'll yield more items and etc

They announced the game a month ago, theres still alpha and beta phases, and possibly stress testing that will be done way before release. Some games take 5+ years even after their announcements so I think less than 3 is really good.

Hello, my name is Wippit and I'm a non-alpha spouse. It has been 19 days since pre-alpha took my wife from me. The all-day crying I had penciled in for my first day of vacation never happened, spent the afternoon playing Path of Exile, then my kids wanted tacos.

But, you want to know what is so infuriating about this whole situation? Sometimes I catch snipped of sound from the wife's computer. I can't see what's going on, but I can hear it periodically. And it irks me that, once in a while, I know what she is doing in the game, but don't know, because I can't see it. I can only guess. I hate guessing, because I'm probably wrong.

(slight vent) I also hate when she gets frustrated with the game. it happens to the best of us in lots of games - Minecraft, Ark, etc - You die, and you can't get back to your body. You're doing a mini-game, and you can't get the right result (I'm looking at you Stardew Valley fishing). And I can't help her. Because pre-alpha took her from me.

Anyways.... here's hoping maybe, just maybe, they bring in a few more people. Coming up to almost three weeks now.

They did say they would be considering traditional combat at some point if not on release but it won't be the main element of the game and totally optional like many aspects of the game

If you imagine the typical MMO with 90% combat and 10% social/community/crafting etc ... Palia will feel more like 10% combat and 90% everything else << my words not the devs

Its also worth looking for news sites that attended the preview event at the start of June .. some of their information adds to what we have been told. Kitchens are used to access the game’s cooking system where players can craft meals out of ingredients they find in the world via minigames. Like Stardew Valley, players can plant and harvest crops, feeding into that system. - There’s some form of main storyline complete with quests, but those weren’t shown. Singularity 6 says that the game does feature some form of combat, but didn’t elaborate on how exactly that’ll work. The developers alluded to loot and level systems of some kind too, which seems to imply that there are RPG mechanics at play. - What’s particularly neat is that players don’t have to engage with story content or battles if they don’t want to. Singularity 6 says that things like combat are entirely optional and players don’t need to lay a finger on a monster to play the game. Those who just want a chill world where they can kick back and fish can do that.

I had thought.. Or more a wondering on how the romance npc thing would work. You all think the servers will be so small so it is just one neigbourhood per server? Cause with even 200 people on ine server, the romancable npcs will be taken quick. Leaving a majority of the players either 1: with no one to romance, missing a big part of said mechanic. Or 2: the npcs can have.. Many, many romances and dating many people at the se time and never really adress it.

A lot of what S6 is trying to do is look at what's annoying/bad about MMOs that have come prior to Palia and see if they can do better implementation of those things or remove them completely. I can't see a world in which Palia launches and only one person can romance Tamala.
