No they based it on activity in the discord but also the surveys, but i don´t think that what games you check tipped the scales, i think the second survey answers were more decisive

I would imagine that this is the popular opinion. Even if you don't care about "being left behind" and are just trying to enjoy the game on your own, micro transactions destroy the immersion of the game, and anything bought in that way has no value as it has no experience behind it (quest, exploration sell crops to make gold to buy it from an NPC, whatever that experience might be).

Paying a monthly fee is definitely the better option, you pay your subscription and don't have to worry about meeting invisible walls in game and feeling like an annoying beggar keeps breaking the 4th wall to try and get you to throw money at them just to make them go away.

I personally still just don't like subscription based games because it feels like when you're paying, you're paying for a month of gameplay. They can utilise that month much better, so in turn, it feels like I'm not really getting my money's worth.

I don’t think of a subscription as paying to play but rather paying to have your character kept on their servers. That way if I play 1 day in 30 because I’ve been busy I know my character will safely be there when I come back. If I don’t pay I understand that I have nothing to complain about if I lose my character due to inactivity. But that’s just my view on it. With so many views on what is ‘best’ or ‘worst’ maybe having all the options available and give people the choice and appropriate access dependant on what option they chose is a reasonable compromise.

If the villagers are also our skill mentors I wouldn't be surprised in intermittent requests to go get something or make something for them. Ending in some sort of skill upgrade etc

Hello, my name is Wippit and I'm a non-alpha spouse. It has been 20 days since pre-alpha took my wife. My therapist suggested that I share with people just how much pain I am going through with this whole pre-alpha separation. Other non-alpha people just know that pre-alpha is going on, and that's it, But me....

Now, I won't break her NDA. I can't actually see her screen. But sometimes she plays without her headset. I can't see, but I can hear. What can I hear? What is driving me insane?

• I can hear the outdoor ambient sounds, which sound pretty damn realistic.

• I can hear her walking, and can tell when she is inside or outside, but not where she is.

• I can hear her fishing. I can even hear when she catches something, but never know what she catches.

• I can hear one very easily identifiable "Hello" from an NPC, but have absolutely no idea who the NPC is.

But it's not just the game. I can hear her. She says "oh wow" at least 3 times an hour. "Oh cool" once an hour. "YES!" every time she does certain things, but I have no idea what those things are. It's driving me up the wall.

The most telling phrase she uses, though, is "that is so beautiful." That what? And I even called her on it last night. "Is everything really that beautiful? And her response: "It's so beautiful... and it's only pre-alpha."

So, it seems like the wait it worth it for others. It may end up killing me, though.

We are only in Pre-Alpha .. there is likely an Alpha Test Phase in the near ( I hope ) future and then maybe one or two Beta sessions. Before the games release in much less than 3 years.

What if humans just destroyed themselves in a huge war like we always do, and ended up pushing the nuke button, so remnants of whoever survived turned into the elves, or even the elves were just not that affected by the fallout, so they prospered and began to rebuild and create a better civilization than what humans left behind. So when humans started to reappear, the elves were like "oh god okay let's try to make them not destroy themselves again" so they introduce us to more leisure activities
