I have a serious question actually.
As I understand it, pre-alpha is where S6 want's players to tell them what they like and don't like, so they can fix it.
Is this only in pre-alpha or will it also be in alpha, beta, other tests or will those be more about bug fixing?
I would really dislike it if most game-play and UI decisions will only be based upon what the Devs + 1400 people think.
My concern is that once something has been coded, based upon early feedback, and is in the game. It can be hard to alter or remove. Especially if other mechanics depend on a core feature.

I hope it makes sense. I know very little about game development practices

I was wondering which game had your favourite building mechanics- and how you'd hope to see it in Palia?

For me I really loved building in Conan, Valheim, and Rust especially. It's modular and snaps to a grid. I find that faster than a sims style drag the wall, or a blocky 7 Days to Die/ Minecraft style.

Otherwise pre made rooms that you arrange/ add doorways to, etc sounds pretty nice too!

I was not a fan of Grounded or even Raft building, it was clunky and the needing tons of support for second floors, and the low ceilings really bothered me!

What are your thoughts?

I just like to fish in games. Though how fun it is varies a lot. People hate on Stardew fishing but that's one of the most engaging ones ive tried. The system in Links Awakening is pretty fun aswell but i don't know how well it could be used in other games.

200 was probably to see the functionality and another 1200 for a stress test as well as a more widespread feedback. I'm still surprised because as they stated very early on they only expected a couple of hundred people to come in off the trailer.. not tens of thousands.. so the 1400 testers has to have been improvised to in some way accommodate the flood of interested players
