The mentor role was probably just a late night test run for something that will eventually be applied to a larger group of users in this server. We've still got quite a long time until Palia's proper launch, which means months of people asking questions and needing guidance - especially as more information is released by devs for fans to compile and curate.

When they're ready, I think you'll start seeing that role bestowed upon helpful users without requiring anything too special from them other than kindness, patience, and a willingness to teach and assist others.

I imagine that they selected the candidates based on answers and their own personal algorithm, I don't think there is any real reason to do another survey just because they most likely have picked their candidates or are compiling as we speak. BUT this doesn't mean that we shouldn't be upset if we don't get in or brag if we do, the important thing about this pre-alpha is that the people who get selected will have the important job of helping the developers improve and help cultivate the creation that they have worked so hard on.

I think that has to do with so many stages of creation being a thing nowadays. When I was growing up there were beta CD's & that was about it! now we can play so many stages but mentally I'm sure ppl like me look at it like it's an earlier beta rather than what it actually is.
