My other idea for fishing is a "fishing pond"-- something that you can craft with materials, along with some fish, maybe? Or something. This can end up creating a specific "pond" that can 'refresh' that you can get fish from (which would be rng) from specific kinds (pond, ocean, river, etc).

The way to choose which kind of fish it'd spawn, would be from the kind of fish or whatever you used in the recipe. If fish, i'd like to imagine that you can do a "grab bag" sort of thing, or something, so you can get it in an accessible way, still.

And ofc i always loved Roan's ideas and concepts when it came to fishing, esp the fishing trap stuff, or even having a "fishing net" that can be used with 2-4 players, so it's more of a co-op effort.

Also, XP gained from any skill in a party counts for growable furniture.

if u have multiple stacks of worms the game displays the first stack of worms in ur ammo pouch but uses worms from a different stack

I just finished Hassian's third romance quest... my heart. I hope his dialogue gets an overhaul eventually so that he's more approachable at a faster rate... I really avoided him bc of how snippy he is, but I love how nice he gets. And he's a sweetheart, too.

I personally thrive off 3 apple trees, 3 blueberry bushes, 3 corn, and the entire rest loaded with potatoes. I set the apples in the middle row and use the potatoes, blueberry and corn to boost harvest and water retain on mainly the apples and blueberries. I don't personally use any weed repellent cause then i can sell a chunk ton of weeds after some time.

I jar every apple, blueberry, and potato mainly, I leave enough to then turn in more seeds as well. I haven't bought these seeds in almost 2 years, and all my crops are starred now too

i don't believe they break. The first purchase starts the quest, that one isn't technically yours. I realized that if that's your current issue. The recipe unlocks and then can be crafted in the central stable in elderwoods. and it adds an extra accessory slot between glider and any pet you may or may not have

Once palium storage is available, is it required to have iron storage beforehand, or can you jump straight from copper storage to palium storage? I ask because in order to have iron storage, you have to have copper storage. Or do you just need to have A storage chest in inventory? Has anyone jumped from standard storage to iron storage?

It’s just frustrating, especially since we all play differently so not everyone NEEDS that much space. I understand the tool tier system. Better tools will help with gameplay. Having copper storage vs iron storage doesn’t affect the actual gameplay. The highest amount of gold I’ve had in game at once was a little over 500k. I know gardening is a passive way for income, but I find it rather boring/tedious at times. 😂

I agree with that system for the tools, just not for the storage. If I were a new player, and quickly realised that I needed a ton of storage, it would be such a wasteful grind to get the gold for copper storage, just so you can then upgrade to iron storage. That’s 75k, which depending on the grind/time people play/etc., that can take a while.

I have 10-15 starred void rays, 2 starred ancient fish, 2 starred unicorn fish, and 2-3 starred swordfin eels, 2 starred giant fish, 2 starred kilima stingrays (I have the achievement for every fish/starred fish), but I’m not throwing them to the cooker. I’ve been playing this game since it launched, so up until this Elderwood update, I had nothing to do in game. We got a filler with the update to the “wait for the story to continue” mid last year, but essentially, I haven’t had quests in over a year. So I’m maxed on everything/nothing to progress, prior to Elderwood release.

I also like to decorate, which gets expensive as you buy more plots, rooms, windows, houses, etc. I quickly realised on Elderwood launch day that I’d need to upgrade my storage soon. The thing that makes me rage the most in game is the RNG, climbing, and the random glitches that can occur when you have a tool equipped, but it doesn’t work, so you have to unequip it and redo. I hate when it does that to me while hunting or bug catching.

@marsh depot We are the opposite in that regard. 🤣 I also don’t play other games, so my purpose for the game was to get through it and progress my skills, etc. I don’t think I rushed through it, however, the game is easy to get through quickly, even when you’re not trying to hardcore grind.

In regards to the Welcome to Palia tutorial workbench bug. The workbench will not go into inventory if the first row is full. The first row has to be empty before speaking to Hodari. If it is full the workbench gets locked in the shipping bin.

In regards to the Welcome to Palia tutorial workbench bug, and Hodari not appearing at lvl 2 mining.

The workbench will not go into inventory if the first row is full. The first row has to be empty before speaking to Hodari. If it is full the workbench gets locked in the shipping bin.

I tried on Switch and made my friend try on Xbox.

When getting to lvl 2 mining, Hodari is invisible. To make him appear, you have to continue on to speaking with Kenli> tish> craft 3 furniture and place it> Kenli >place home> Tish. Then he will be visible. There is also a bit of lag that makes him take longer to materialize, once you find him after these steps.

Now it is time for me to go make dinner, tag me if there is more early game issues! I'll go through and play it on my alt .

Prior to those steps, the map marker leads you to the inn, but he remains invisible, but after those steps he just takes a bit to materialize

Love seeing things being added that are promising solutions some long standing asks even if only for the new content - the platforming help in temple of roots, the temple drawings as map standins (though that was added for older temples later!), and now being able to give some quest items to an NPC after finishing with them.

I'd like to see that for other quest leftovers that won't be reused in future(if they can't be made placeable - some are neat and that's been an occasional ask).

is anyone actually enjoying this new gameplay loop of essence - artifact - relic? there isnt enough corrupted stuff on the map to really gather essence in the amounts they want for stuff. getting duplicate artifacts constantly with the trade being kind of a joke. not enough people in a server to really get a trade going, no universal trade chat and you need them in order to get the relics to make getting the essence viable. its really just..not fun.

i earned over 2,000 essence today just hunting creatures casually for an hour or two. i think u really need to utilize all methods of essence collecting to get the amounts for stuff -- hunting, bugs, fishing, foreagbles, pick-ups. one lil froggy had 105 essence by himself, i was impressed. i also party up and we have some of the new party buffs active which does help. and yes, like PaliaBot showed, use the trading channel to arrange relic trading or the elderwood chat has also been trading relics.

My primary reason for playing games like this is to help out other players, be it advice or items, or whatever. The problem is, my gardening and cooking skills are so high I can almost never complete requests.

It's really weird that the game with the premise of be a good neighbor makes it impossible to interact with a core aspect of that philosophy once you are in a stable position to do so.

This is especially compounded with the fact that there is now a huge surge of new players with the console releases. I see more requests for seed and whatnot than ever.

Now, i know someone will likely fill the request, but that's really not the point I'm trying to make. I'm just frustrated that I can't unless it's like wood, or bugs I have hoarded, or something.

Yeah they just kind of, exist in the ether? At least that's my take because the tutorial makes it clear to me that you can only equip/change amulets in the central stables area, so they just kind of exist in the ether when not in use, because you can't actually use them outside of central stables, so I guess that's why they don't "go to your storage" when they are unequipped. Because when you click on your amulet socket in the specified area, all your crafted ones are there. So they definitely aren't totally disappearing.

Nothing happens. If you want to break up with an NPC, you have to actually click it on the "settings" in their relationship tab. Pins just trigger different dialogue.

There's several new garden crops, as well as many flowers you can grow on your plot. New questlines. New bugs and fish. New huntables. Lots of new furniture. New cooking recipes. We finally got our growable gazebo. If they were broken for you last year, you can acquire the paltech radio and wall lamp recipes in the underground.
The newest patch notes will have the biggest changes, but it's worth it to read back!

Assuming he is playing on pc (I didn't check the whole conversation!), ask him to make sure all his drivers are up to date. Also tell your friend to turn off everything in the background, including possible overlays for other games.. those seem to give some issues to people, too.
It's most likely not the solution, but it cannot hurt to try!

appy, as of date, we are having multiple compaints that purchases made directly via steam app for the founders pack are not applying to the palia game at all. What we can see is that purchases made not whilst in game , but clicking on the steam app itself, is purchasing as a DLC and placing the bundles purchased into and INSTALL FILE option that is undownloadable content. We know that palia premium store items cannot be downloaded. This seems to be an error in the way it has been implemented by steam on their app as an actual DLC.

i heard someone else mention they couldn’t take something out, i’d do a bug report and say what item it is , can show that clip too

what I'll try now is to log in through the palia launcher, maybe its a steam bug?

That shouldn't make a difference, since it all runs on the same engine.

If it fixes through the launcher, delete and re-download the steam version afterwards as well, to see if that changes anything

Yup - opening it through the palia launcher, for some reason, fixed it 🙂

That's.... weird, but good for you! Honestly it may have been a characre Cache issue through Steam.

I would recommend still submitting the report, and trying to re-download the steam version

You might just need to manually go into your steam Palia folder and delete the Cache.

thing is also, I havent played actively for over a year, maybe they changed some values of clams in a past update rendering the one in my chest invalid, confusing the game

There was maintenance a few days ago, and they mentioned the files of some steam accounts would have to be re-verified

Do you happen to have two different stacks of the same items? Some people are getting dupe stacks from bahari forageables that are basically ghosted in the chest.

aye, may have been that. Though I did create my account via the official launcher since I started playing at the games initial launch

That was the case, and they wouldnt combine either, hence my theory

the clams I collected in bahari in the last few days wouldnt combine with the single one in the video, but form a new stack

I don't know too much about tech but I'd imagine it might be a character data or UI mismatch between versions of the game you played on - Steam and Official Launcher.

WELP, theres a reason for me to start palia through the official launcher every once in a while. Still mainly playing through steam tho, as its more convenient

I'm really happy to see placable flowers and paths added in an update since I stopped playing. It was my main complaint back then

what I'm not really all too happy to see is the sheer amount of plushies. They are a great gimmick, kinda like pokemon (gotta catch em all) but in return it took 2 years to release the first new area, which I think shouldve been more of a focus because the adventure zones are what I think most people spend most of their time in

What I did see just before I stopped playing back then was that they had to lay off half of the devs, which is a fair reason to delay it, but the plushies and potato pots were still a weird focus point I think
