So, for over a year I have heard a noise in statue garden by the statue ruins. It sounds like a chest to me. I assumed I would figure it out eventually, but I still haven't. I have all the hidden chests already. Any know what it is?

there's a couple places with the chest/quest marker/found item sound (statue garden, the shrine at the exit from bahari to kilima), think it's just a minor bug

Am I the only one that is "icked" by Multiple stations. Example. Instead of Grilled Meat, Veggies etc. Being added to the Stove or Oven, if you want to continue to craft those, you have to keep your camp fire. Or for some dishes you need 2 PREP STATIONS, in order to make. I don't see the point in that, to be honest. (the fish tacos, required me to have 2 prep stations before i could craft this dish) ALSO, The OVEN is HUGE compared to the stove. I feel like this bothers me. someone tell me im not the only one. PS i LOVE this game. that is just something that has irritated me thus far, in additon to the amount of gold it takes for EVERYTHING. I feel like im not making money fast enough. What am i doing wrong?!

There was grumping back at the beginning about how huge the oven is and there's always people confused or annoyed about multiples of the same station, but you really do get over it around the time you finish the tutorial quest lines and leveling up all your tools.

As for multiple stations generally and slow money accumulation early on that's their "good alone, but better together" (their words) approach and some intentional added friction because early on people burned through everything in like 2 weeks - not putting a value judgement on those things cuz opinions definitely vary.

it wasn’t clear to me that i needed multiples of each station for some recipes. i don’t know if my brain just skipped over something that was explained, or it wasn’t explained in a way i could understand? i just remember being frustrated bc the cooking station icons at the bottom of the recipes would sometimes have red icons and being like, but i have those stations??

that was a long time ago tho so maybe it was a me problem and/or they made it more clear.

i hope it’s more clear now. especially with how buggy cooking can be i survived on sernuk noodle stew because my character (when i was playing on Switch) would freeze in the cooking animations so often and it was the best focus gained versus resources lost recipe i had.

It's still not very clear, imo.

But the reason for multiple stations, is because you usually are starting the recipe at that specific station. So you can't exactly "use" that station to do a specific step. So you'll need the additional, for example, oven, to cook a specific thing.

Which, sorta makes sense? But not like... completely. (Since, for example, IRL, i'd just use the same oven lol)

But yeah, it isnt really clear, still. People still wonder why they can't cook things and ask in issues-discussions and stuff.

It shows on the bottom "additional stations", and the icons for which ones you might need (and will give said station a red icon if you're missing it).

Would probably be better if when you start it, and it brings it up on screen, it says, "you need another oven/prep station/etc".

it was esp frustrating with some of the main storyline quests being tied to cooking. i genuinely had to reach out to other resources to understand because i was like, i have a prep station though?? why does it say i don’t??

Yeah, it isn't clear. I'm assuming they probably hoped it was, since at the bottom of the cooking screen when youre starting it, it says "additional stations" ... but, very very easy to misunderstand

And if you do start it, it does pop up... but, for example: it shows "oven" at the top and what you need to cook in it. So then it seems like you might not have that ingredient (like bacon).

And at the bottom where it says Addtional stations, and if you already have one, Maybe have a number or icon that indicates needing two of them, instead of one?

I was this way too when I started, but when I played through the beginning of the game on my second account again I realised that Reth does hint at the multiple stations thing but it could be easily missed. I eventually figured it out when I accidentally made a second prep station instead of a mixing station and one recipe suddenly said I could make it (I did not have this recipe on first account) and then I had a bicbrain moment

very small things can slip through the cracks, i absolutely get that they might not have realized it’s confusing. having the same eyes on something all the time makes folks unable to see where stuff can get confusing, and it’s a small team.

it was one of those things that made me literally go when i encountered it though. and like i said, buggy switch cooking made me not want to engage in cooking at all kinda took away the appeal of cooking in groups when my character would get stuck rolling wheat.

which then takes away the appeal of (and ability to) make recipes with other people.

i don’t mind the size of them (it’s actually really neat to me when i look at cooking party plots, there’s so much attention to detail and where everything is placed!) i think the size itself makes sense.

that being said, the game says you can “play how you want”, yet

cooking seems to be the most community-minded activity there is (player-made community, cos the only other thing they’ve done with community in mind other than the bug catching event was shared party loot), yet they nerfed cake prices. and some recipes are super difficult (or impossible bc of accessibility) to do on your own. so. probably the most “play with other players” skill there is, but… not a lot of incentive to do that?

Maybe pushing to clear the backlog in all of their queues before EW (though clearing can include just closing out tickets with now movement in X days/weeks, so don't put off replying and if a ticket hasn't gotten a reply in say 2 weeks/10 business days (? Commonish window I think?)it might just not get one)

Honestly cooking has a lot of issues, I've noticed a few particularly aggravating issues that IMHO need to be fixed.
I was cooking a few meals solo the other day and recipes using the stove have been the most aggravating by far.... due to stirring/flipping of all things lmao
I don't struggle with the minigames themselves, but... that stir/flip timer really needs some kind of visual/audio cue when the window for that step activates+starts counting down. >>
You could tell me "just keep an eye on the stove, it's not that hard!" but.... prepares screenshots

If there isn't one already-- I'm assuming not, since people ask sometimes how to do the flipping minigame-- there should be a tutorial that pops up on how to do the flip minigame. or a reminder/setting to have the instructions somewhere (that you can maybe toggle?) on how to do it.

Basically saying you need to hold the button to start the flip animation, and then let go when it's on the circle. There's been a few people who think you have to hit the button when it gets to the circle instead, and wonder why it isn't working.

So yeah. Stirring/flipping have zero audio cues, and as far as visual cues, it only has that one single UI element- one that can be obscured from view by other tasks if too close, or fade from sight entirely if you're too far.

Honestly I think that it'd be really neat to have some kind of cooking tutorial quest, where reth asks you to help him prepare a meal and each minigame can be explained through that, with the option to repeat it whenever you want at no cost if you need practice or a refresher without having to worry about wasting materials or ruining a meal

That's why. You can't place those on those, because they'll teleport around. Anything that's like ac hest, or a crafter, etc, will have that happen

thanks for pointing this out, I opted to add a note to my sheet along the lines of "avoid pop-up tutorials when possible (because they disrupt the flow of gameplay constantly early on, and most disable them entirely just to stop being interrupted so much) and instead add something like "view tutorial" buttons in the UI, or integrate the tutorials into the world itself through ingame books and/or quests"

... But I admittedly think the very old intro quest, back when I played in Closed beta and early open beta, was one of the better ones. only because it properly had you meet the villagers, see what they do, where the stores are... 😅

But I can also see how that might be overwhelming to some, I guess.

(Although, I'd think arguably, with how it is now is a bit more overwhelming or at least a lot more confusing, but everyone's different.)

The repair cost was only 20 wood and I think 10 stone or flint... it was very cheap compared to the time you spend having to make 100 planks

I don't mind that people are starting off with a house, since again, that makes sense with the lore, since the plot/area used to be owned by somebody else. So it would make sense that there'd be a house that is run down, instead of starting with a tent.

It would be interesting if the quest would then have you go to City Hall, though, so you have to get a new room. (maybe a small room or a hallway?)

So you could at least still learn where that is in the game itself, and get an idea of how to progress in that sense.

"oh shoot i think i did something wrong i gotta go!"

And seeing a Proudhorned/Magic Deer for the first time, and calling it pretty and majestic, then gasping with HORROR when i saw people starting to shoot at it. "NOO dont it's pretty"

Also just to curse everyone who hunts sernuks. My friend who tried the game asked me why the deer fart dust. It made me realise their dust effect is no longer on their hooves and does look like fart dust since it comes out of their backside now. I've never been able to look at them the same again. Yes! And those are in the patch notes but you’d have to read the whole patch note to see it if not advertised, and not everyone has access to patch notes, discord or Instagram. So @hollow crescent adding that as a feedback is a great idea!

Although they do need an option to be turned off for players who don’t want them as part of their accessibility options. A way just to turn off animations especially if outfits are enough to trigger accessibility needs. If everyone and their cousin had the sword with lightning effect it would obviously make the game more inaccessible than it already is

Would be nice if they could give us Sticker Packs for Weekly Quest or they would give us the drop rate of the materials cause its frustrating if you dont get the things you want an play the whole day.

Yesterday i mined the whole day got over 400 Palium ore but i only got amethyst in Star or normal one and none ruby not even one.

Would be nice too if they would a a lot more stuff to the Zeki Capsule like some past twitch drops and some of the other flutterfox plushie cause they only got 2 out of 5 there.

I realy miss the apalooza we had once would be realy nice if we got an apalooza once a month for a week with an inceased chance for some plushie or sticker packs or maybe some potato pods.

I wouldn't say it's abandoned, but there was definitely a drop in the amount of significant gameplay content in updates since last year with a major focus on the cash shop, which is a point of contention for many, specially older returning players.

I think it's worth pointing out here the difference between the team's connection to the community a year ago vs. what it's become now. Over the past 12-16 months there's been a drastic decline in the kinds of interactions we've had, and the kinds of updates we've been getting. We went from very open communication, and updates that clearly reflected our feedback, to near zero communication and the rightly-percieved image of 'Here have some plushies to keep you distracted while we saturate the cash shop.'
It's the contrast rubbing people the wrong way. In the years leading up to 2024 this felt like an amazing collaboration of ideas, and we felt quite valued as a part of development. Many who voice their concerns now are looking at the bigger picture. We've seen a disturbing shift in priorities that is not sustainable. We've seen promises broken rather unapologetically. But try to keep in mind, if people didn't care they wouldn't bother to complain. Criticism is largely coming from a place of love here. We want the game to survive and thrive. This was the game so many of us needed to happen, and we just want to see it do well. No one wants to see this project reduced to a widely-distributed mobile time sink.

The game desperately needs a wider variety of rewards IMHO. They give a decent amount of earnables to decorators but virtually nothing to people who crave more.... character- based progression, I think relics will help a fair deal with giving people goals to work towards in terms of improving their characters' abilities, but I want to see more earnables you can show off outside your housing plot too, that aspect is virtually nonexistent because it's all paywalled

Yeah they are doing updates but not with things people realy want like apalooza or new items in Zekis Capsule or some Major Bug fix like that Objects are glitching through the plots so me and a lot of my friends got 300/500 places already taken and we cant decor them even after we did clean them and there was none on the plot we still hat a lot of decor on the limit and we cant even place new stuff cause its always inceasing after every patch. Less communication from the dev like the blogs where they talk abou bugs they know they are working on it. Yeah like the other people said i am playing the game since open beta last year and as they started they talked a lot to us and even gave us something like apaloozas. I got kicked while playing the game cause of the hotfix. And as the patch started the game was nearl unplayable for a lot of ppl. Thats a thing that comes with a lot of patches before since like last year. The game peformance got a bit worse i geting disconect more often or the game chrashes more often for me an a lot of my friends and on switch the game is a real mess.

I can’t speak for everyone else but I personally am holding out for the day that S6 goes back to how it once was. The days where they communicated with us about the issues we are having and hinting to us about possible things to come. Does it take them forever to fix bugs? 100%. Do we have months of no communication and they suddenly throw an update on us without warning? Definitely. But they are only a couple people working their butts off to give us one of the coziest games I have seen. They are still here working behind the scenes so if they need time to give us a roadmap or to fix our problems, I’ll give them that so long as they actually do it. There are also plenty of things they need to implement into the game but as I said, they are working with the people they have which isn’t much. There are other games to play and things to do so I’ll just sit here and wait. A bit impatiently but I’ll wait.

honestly, this is the first game where I can comfortably keep my storage sorted without spending too much time on it. there is no need to hoard anything unless it is very rare/epic and even then 1 to 3 items should be enough. I keep storage at around 9000 pieces at all times. but I guess you need to figure it out for yourself what item amount is right for your playstyle - I admit to having had storage plots for extra fish or foods I wanted to save for longer.

They’ve filled their inventory completely with wallpaper and decor so that when they go up to the rummage pile it will say “inventory full” if it’s an item, it will only say “loot” if it’s a recipe because that doesn’t get put in your backpack. People server hop over and over to try and get recipes.

No, it changes every time you’re in a new server. You can only loot it once in a 24 hour period, but it’s just a randomized item or recipe. That’s why people fill the inventory and server hop, because eventually it’ll load a recipe or quest if you haven’t already collected/done all of them

those are multiple trees glitched together with curtains, lamps etc.

basically bending the gamerules by utilizing glitches to achieve things that are normally not possible

YT has a few tutorials on how to do these techniques, like floating items, merging items etc.
once learned/mastered, basically anything it possible

You definitely will be able to play Elderwood if you haven't maxed every villager's friendship/romance. The person who played the Elderwood 30 min gameplay video on GameSpot explained that you don't have to complete all the quests/temples. But they do recommend be at least the exquisite tools because of the creatures in Elderwood 😊

This plot is over 13k items and surprisingly the switch/steam deck users I know are able to load it, just takes a bit more time on their end. Iirc there are some communities dedicated to this, you advertise your plot, react, send a sc as proof and they'll react back. But personally I find it too much of a hassle, but if you want to guarantee more that people will vote back, then there's that.

It's why many of us have complained about the housing system numerous times. The "featured" isn't that much of a help either considering how many plots are being put up.

I have to say.. I am not happy at all with how the mystery outfits have been done and how they are distributed... I have received 3 not the greatest outfits that all cost 850 coins, the LOWEST you can go really for an outfit buy. Then I am seeing all these other people getting the really cool, expensive outfits right off the bat with the mystery outfit. I feel it is NOT fair for the gift giver nor the gift receiver to get an outfit that is in the 850 category.... as this to me is not a deal and not fair, since the mystery outfit costs 795 to buy (which is 55 coins difference, that's nothing at all (or that is two days worth of Zeki coins that are easily attainable)). I don't know about anyone else but this is very frustrating as I think it is not fair to both parties for 850 coin outfits to be on the mystery outfit list. It should only be the 925 and above outfits at least. That is my opinion as I feel it has been a rip off for me. :/

by what i understand, no, you can't get dupes, it will always be an outfit the receiver doesn't have.

that being said, i've always thought the mystery gift was bogus and a waste of money. it's like s6 saw that people wanted to gift premium clothes to their friends and decided to do it in the worst way possible. the gifter should be able to choose which outfit the receiver gets, not leave it up to random chance along with a random chance that the outfit would actually be an item that's on sale as well

Ok I guess I don't get that. I've toured plots where items are floating way up and barely off the ground both. And I've tried various options in between. The result is always the same: works great until you leave the plot and come back. Items piled up at the entrance. But that's OK. Its not really that important.

There's alot of work that goes into it not all items work the same and it can be funky it's a huge time investment and we are very lucky that there are users who go out there and spend days working it all out and letting us know either via their YouTubes or discords

But the plots do have limitations within them even for glitching which will auto yeet items to the gate. Like I think my stove is in a perfect spot over my pond due to this kinda logic within the games code as if yiu move it 1 pixel over it will go back to the entrance
But unfortunately it's been awhile since I could even log in the game so I can't give great examples rn

I don't know what to say. Since the little patch I floated some bees and fish and sunk some plants - they all stay where I put them, after leaving and coming back to plot. I used Pavers and a red present for the large bee for anchors. - I just tried to answer if the patch did something to floating. I would recommend asking in https://discord.com/channels/809856101326913567/1142204717489983528 if something with the method or items you are using does that to your things. I am not really an expert to all of this.

That is alright! As with all glitches in any game, they can be finicky and also rely a bit on settings/lag/etc. I also haven't logged in or attempted floating/anchoring stuff in a while so I wouldn't know either. quartz is not required in any quests or bundles, however star gems are great for decor and regular gems are great for selling.
you should keep one each of|| jasper, emerald, and aquamarine for bundles and a later game friendship quest if you have not fulfilled those as yet.||

Every gem correlates to NPC signs so good to gift each NPC their starstone, great way to boost friendship with them
