There is definitely a level of truth in that

If you want your skills to be diverse, you'll have to spend years to level them up. Or a lot of cash, but let's forget about that for a second

However, being able to fly a couple T2 destroyers/cruisers can be done in a matter of months, which will give you enough time to get a good grip on the game and actually learn to fly those ships before being able to sit in them. It's definitely not for everyone and it has been moving in the wrong direction ever since Tencent bought CCP, but there is still nothing quite like it out there

they are probably looking at every report, and "considering" which ones are the most game breaking to look into first. an area that constantly crashes that has major quest lines attached to it if far more important than getting stuck at the cooking stations, which is annoying but not a high priority, which is why they used the word consider

The brightness slider is a start and proof that they are trying. It's not a big team working on the game, especially after all the lay-offs, so it's going to take time unfortunately. But I'm sure they're considering at least the most basic accessibility features

the issue with games that are free to play with paid elements is that you have to give free to players an inch so they're willing to pay for a mile. if you don't give free to play players anything they're far less likely to spend money at all

I've bought stuff just because I have expendable income and thought it looked nice but my issue is 90% of the premium outfits in this game look ugly AF to me and there's a bias on women's clothing versus mens, as per usual in games.

Have anyone thought about how the Community(Guild) would work? One of the player was asking if anyone had an active guild in the game just yesterday. But, with all of us constantly switching servers every time we zone into our homestead, Kilma, or BB. How can you expect to have a community guild... I have played since Beta first started, and even I have to admit that I have "friends" on my list that I have only seen once, maybe twice that whole time that I been playing. How is the guild thing even suppose to work if you never see your guildmates? It would get old very fast if you are constantly having to join another server just to be with your guild mates. Now, if we had dedicated server where we can take the time to get to know our fellow players who we would see on a more frequent basis, I can see how a guild might work, but still even then, you wouldn't get much of an option to pick a guild to belong in if everyone on a particular server is of one "community". Still scratching my head on how this would even work... To me, this has been more of a solo game with random people to chat with on every server if I chose to. The only time that I actually play with someone else is when the Flow Tree Groves are up. Guess my question to you my fellow players, Anyone on here belong to a Community/Guild? and, not one that filled with your family members or friends from real life...

ya solo game with other players nearby for sure, not a real multiplayer game. some activities feel like herding cats even when your friends do get on

cooking is fun when it works, but mining and chopping with friends can be a pain, hunting unless it iis a high level mob is impossible with friends, etc

it's very much more like destiny 2 as a player experience than a traditional MMO. guilds work more like how mobile game guilds work versus traditional MMOs.

If I recall, there's meant to be a match making upon entering a map. It was more likely you get sent to an instance that already has your friends, I think being in the same community was meant to also do the same. That said, I don't recall if it works right now since there's been a bunch of matchmaking problems after the new regions came in

Also a community lets you have a shared chat without having to be on the same party/map. That's been one benefit of it I've experienced

It's really amazing to me how overall unattractive most of the color combos for the $$$ clothes are. One of the reasons so many players look alike is they all seem to choose the same colors because other choices are so darn ugly, weird, or dull. Also frustrating is that from a color standpoint it's almost impossible to mix and match premium clothing because even in a similiar color story the tones and hues are just off enough that colors which should go together don't. Lack of thought or care and attention to detail

i think the game has a bit of an identity crisis of what genre it is because it appeals to people who play mmos.. since it is one, but the thing about mmos is that progress is meant to scale with time investment. so you can get to whatever level you want if you spend the time doing it -whereas with palia it scales with real world time passing-no matter how many hrs you spend in the game you’re limited by the day cycle passing

which makes leveling friendship and romance a bore

and i understand some people will be like “oh well you’re not supposed to sink a million hours in! take your time! play slowly!” but.. it’s an mmo…. the enjoyment of the game for most people is directly correlated with how many people are playing and your opportunity to socialize, and with games like this it’s always a downward curve from release date so there’s pressure to play as much as possible

I actually despise the shepp quest, though not for the reasons one might expect
it's the equivalent of guiding a player through their first 10 levels of a game, with each level having its own tutorial/quest
and then once they hit level 10, making their next task "ok now hit level 100 lol" with nothing in between

which is.... awful pacing especially for something that's basically considered story-related
I would have preferred to see some more quests in between to give a better sense of steady progress, rather than getting through 90% of the 'tutorial' only to suddenly be faced with a brick wall-tier grind for the last 10%

After the tower they promised they woulnd't add any kind of obstacle course content as mandatory, but right after the two latest temples have had parkour elements.

And when you hit level 100 basically nothing. If I take my cooking levels out I'm total level 1000 - all grind. Grind and plushies. It keeps me happy and a diversion I need in my life right now but it's not a game. I have very high hopes for whatever new map is coming. I think we'll learn a lot about where this game is heading when we see what we get with it.

There are a few quests that are not currently very mobility friendly. My thoughts would be mostly temple of the gales and temple of the roots

I too hated the gales temple. Most awkward and confusing place to get through. And don't get me started on the mini quests within there looking at you Zeki's treasures

until some potential accessibility features are added, it may be a better work around if you're able to assist her through those quests but I know this is not always possible or a solution some may want

I'm also Disabled with mobility issues and that quest took me about 2 hours before I gave up and looked for a walkthrough online. The temples specifically are very hard if you have mobility issues, fishing as well can also be very difficult.

completing that quest gives you access to another quest so, I do believe you have to complete it

• pick up that item and slide it over but do NOT put it down

• while holding the item still, select another placeable item from inventory
• this will pick up the inventory item and "place" the item you wanted to merge somewhere not officially lol
• put the item you want to merge it with in the same spot it was put in step 1
• swap plots then swap back
• item from the start will jump back into original position, merging with the item you put there you wanted to merge it with

tiny dragon's community has a bunch of tutorials, and its all documented so i reccomend going there

Tbh the approach Club Penguin had might be useful in this situation! They used to get you to choose which server to log into each time you got on (named game-related things like Snowball Server or Penguin Server etc) and would show you if your friends were playing on a particular server! That way not only can you bump into regulars that choose a specific server to log into, but you can also switch whenever you want if your friends are playing on a different server another day!

yeah so after your first upgrade, your tools have durability, if you didn't repair them when their durability run out it will be downgraded.. so you need to pay attention to them..

oh not really sure. Every update has been pretty good. Right now I think they are working on the mechanics of the game. Ammo pouch, adding content like flowers, etc. So it's understandable those that have been here are not seeing the "story" move ahead. I'm sure as they add more things the game will get less grindy and more immersive. At least that is what I"m hoping for as you can only mine rocks for so long.

The minigames and festivals have been nice additions; I agree the basic loop of the game's story and gathering/cooking/gardening/crafting systems can get kind of boring after a while. Having 'side stuff' to engage with could only help. I doubt they'll ever add something like PvP, but there are ways to do PvE that could be considered cozy/low stress.

I remember ages ago some folks suggesting an animal version of the soothing candle that keeps bugs from startling.
