When the game first started, it was cozy. It’s just gotten less and less cozy tbh. I definitely don’t think you should be handed out something, but…. Thousands of sernuks and no plushie at all, is just foul! Less and less people call out for anything anymore. Thankfully it’s easier to find pallium, but nobody even calls out or even really flares much anymore…. Then let’s talk about the groves! It’s becoming far more common now, that people are teaming up and cutting the groves! Without even calling them out!

100% this. I tend to play in bulk times and 3 consecutive groves were hit without callouts and before 1am :/ I was thinking maybe something should be implemented like not making them choppable until 3am or something. Then regardless of callouts it gives people a chance to find them? Idk.

I mean that’s an option. Though I think all trees should just be solo cut and not need multiple people and have a timer on them, after they have been cut! Just like pallium. I don’t like the fact that I like to play solo, means I have to lose out on resources! Just because I don’t care to group up and play with people specifically. I wake up at like 4/5 am in the morning and prefer to run around for a couple to few hours, by myself.

No. It’s being seen a lot more that people are running around in teams of 2s and they chop the grove together, before others find it

I dunno, it takes a while to upgrade your tools to get to that level. It's definitely something I learned on the way to cutting down flow as a solo player.

The game is suppose to be able to be played solo or as friends/groups. Most flow trees are at least 2 people, to cut. So it makes it to where you have to group up.

I used to just deforest around the lighthouse to force flow spawns. Fairly easy route and low chance of being interrupted.

i once hopped over to APAC server and set up like 8 flow trees, i like when i start farming for flow trees and people just go "yeah i could do that too" and then the whole server was there and we all chopped at the end

Thorny Thicket and Proudhorn were the 2 areas I used to farm for flow a lot.

I would disagree, out of all the MMORPG's ive played this is by far the most laid back game ive ever played. Heck there no death, no pvp or pvp trolls...Id say its very cozy laid back game.

I am finding it tiring being accused of "not being cozy" when hunting the Proudhorn by people with makeshift bows. They got mad at me in-game b/c I wasn't waiting for them to get close enough to shoot, but I'm just wanting to make the most of my horn and take it down quickly

i think the main point in general is, "Forcing to team up with players" isn't cosy, and also having a huge grind to get just 1 resource (as in, grinding/deforesting, just for a chance to have flow trees to pop up) isn't cosy. which i kinda agree to an extent.

a lot of this is different for people. everyone has a different feelings or ideas of what "cosy" is.

It’s still very much forced. So people who team up and take the resources away form people, get to keep their medals for the fun stuff and get the resources. The single players have to use their weekly medals to buy the materials lol. So basically a single player is dumped on again

Just because there's multiplayer doesn't mean there should always be forcing to team up for a resource. And some people don't always enjoy that. This game is also advertised (on steam with a tag) for singleplayer.

Some skills/actiosn are also just not accessible for some people due to disabilities, or it's just something ppl don't enjoy doing. Chopping, for example, can be one of them. So grinding for it (deforesting, is what im refrring to), might not always be the best option.

plus, there's different kinds of MMO's imo. Cuz this isn't like... WoW for example. You're not running off to do dungeons or raids. that isnt the core part of the game.

this game is moreso you can see other people and you have that option. Palia sits in a weird spot when it comes to "MMO". it doesnt fully fit that category imo depending on how you look at it. It's more "Co-Op" than anything.

Oh I understand that, and yes farming can get tiring especially if you cannot find what your looking for. The devs still got work to do. And constructive criticism is good. Ill stand on what I said though, a mmo is an mmo. Even so, there is room for the Palia game to grow. So I would encourage constructive criticism. All I was saying was submit your thoughts to the developers.

The dev's propably don't look at these feeds, maybe they do. IDK. so best to submit through there suggestion channel.

Sometimes it's fun to play with others. Sometimes you just want to chill and play alone. IMO there are definitely ways in Palia to do both forms of play. They already improved Palium mining so it does a good job of catering to both styles. I'm not sure how else to change farming flow-wood? I thought it worked well for both styles too.

The game was originally designed and launched as a multiplayer game. Unfortunately due to its genre it attracted a playerbase of people coming from animal crossing stardew etc who only want to play a single player game. And instead of accepting that maybe it wasn't for them, they just complained about the multiplayer aspect. So now we have a game that is advertised as different things and doesn't suit either

I don't really have any thoughts on how flowtrees/groves work. I haven't really experienced groves myself, cuz i can't properly play due to accessibility reasons. (so here's hoping more come after the ones they announced!)

And yeah, one of the tags on steam is "Singleplayer" which is why I wanted to bring it up. Cuz like, for sure, MMO in a sense fits the game. I just think it fits in a different way than ppl expect, esp from people who come from WoW/Final Fantasy 14, etc lol!

For sure, and yes this is a different game play than any MMO we played. Never played FF14 but I played Wow, New World, Skyrim and others. Thsi game is not like most of those. The farm however like with tree's is becoming a big thing in MMO's, 1st time I seen such a farm was in New World. But still 2 totally different game plays as mmo.

In this vein, I think the RNG for the rare/epic fish and bugs spawns could be adjusted too. I'm not saying that I want things to be super easy—YOU get a unicorn fish and YOU get a unicorn fish makes getting one meaningless—but I feel like it can a bit much for a game that promotes togetherness. It seems like there's a feeling of trying to "keep up" with others which can be disheartening.

In general with Palia I struggle to play due to accessibility-related stuff. I just can't hold down my M1 button or press it multiple times. So fishing is a struggle for me a lot, and other things, haha. It didn't use to be as bad for me, but i've started having a harder time over the past year. So I'm just having fingers crossed for a toggle-option. (and this is in feedback and via a survey that was conducted for accessibility stuff!)

I really enjoy the slow buildup of my plot. I don't decorate all at once and just handle an area at a time. My kitchen I "finished" last month finally, and I just finished my flower-nursery-garden. So now I'm slowly planning my next area.

I collect things I'm running low on, do the Weekly Challenges if they're available, stockpile food, try to grind out some items for bundles. Just any random thing that catches my attention. I wish there were daily challenges, but maybe in the future those will be added. 🤞 Lately, I've been singlehandedly creating a Sernuk extinction event by trying to get plushies, but I'm slowing that down because it's starting to feel more frustrating and less fun.

That's honestly the way to play palia. I just learned the other day that we can actually sell the flowers and mature trees. Running a nursery could be a nice bit for a dedicated farming plot. This gives me an idea to have each plot set to each occupation.

Ah, I see. I do believe it comes from pallium. I do tend to run after flares a lot. A week or two ago I went on a Bahari run with a friend, got quite a lot of palium, got home later and dumped everything in storage. A little while after I suddenly noticed a starred ruby in my storage. I was floored!

yeah I love Palia but i definitely have had some issues with it from the disability...its not all something they can fix but my eyes dont focus, especially when I'm looking at one fairly still area, and tasks like fishing are an EXPERIENCE oh my GOD. I have the same issue with stardew valley. I just sit and blink aggressively and. hhhrm.
Fishing in general is pretty hard for me because of my hand tremors, but I try my best.

Yes, that is where Palia and New World has a similarity. And farming feature I really like. The cooking in Palia is cool too. My daughter of 5 years got into the cooking with me. And now she is interested in trying new foods here at home.

I used to farm flow trees at the lighthouse. There are a lot that can be done with one player and the loop from top to bottom (and up again using a geyser) makes it go smoothly.
Spoiler for temple of roots: ||you can also get an item now that drops tree seeds one per irl day. Iirc there’s a 25% chance of those being flow seeds, and you can grow them up to a stage that you can still solo||

But from what I saw, its quite possible they got a sweet deal from Epic.
Palia is built upon Epics Unreal Engine, which means they have to pay a share of their profit to Epic if they dont get some special deal.
Players didn’t really like - at least didnt care about- the exclusive Epic Release. Adding a big button to play on Epic was not worth it, if players don’t like it. It could be even worse looking from a PR view, if players feel like they get forced to use Epic.

Imagine exactly this conversation, but with hundreds of angry players.

Like I said, most players are happy with Steam and like it more than having 25 launchers for different games. Thats the point where a company should think about the pros and cons of pushing a specific launcher. In the end they aren’t making a game just because they want to, they have to be sustainable and in the best case have big profits. - If you can save time (work = money) and money on something without big drawbacks a company will at least try to do so.

I don't think that's the case. I think they pushed the update too quickly without considering the multiple growth stages and had them all coded in as one entity for storage.

Palia has a habit of releasing new features because they're asked for a lot and pushing them out before they're fully polished (we experience this every new big patch release). Flowers have 3 growth stages, and they all visually act as one item in your inventory (telling seed from flower is hard), and I'm assuming storage just combined them and assumed they were all seeds. Stacking them messed up their variable and so it removed the seeds entirely.
Just one of those things that they wanted to get out and missed a few things along the way (storing multiple growth stages, releasing all flowers, etc)

The reverting to seeds was when you placed full-grown flowers in and didn't take them out immediately.
Stacking multiple types made them full-grown with no seed-collecting possibility. (& deleted the seeds themselves)

That is a pretty low cap.
It will make it so hard to not go over my inventory since I can't sell anything, and I have everything the game offers that I want for gold (and my renown is capped as well).
So now my gold and my renown are capped, My machines are are full, I can't buy anything else, I can't sell anything else, which means I will have to throw everything down on the ground to level fishing and bugs to 50.

I am at flower cap and it is 90% all shrubs, I wasn't even able to start the 2and house on my plot or the other areas you see 😦
I really hope they raise that cap as well.
I removed my fence in the front so I could put the lovely shrubs, and cap came rather quickly.

Yes, many do that, make 5 gmail accts and go to palia dot com and create an account for each one (they don't have to download the game or anything.)

And no, you cannot just grown them randomly.

It comes from this little guy you get as a reward for the temple questline. He drops a seed as a gift you collect from him every 24 hours and you have a chance of getting a flow seed.
It will need watered to grow (like all the new seeds)
You can keep it, or cut it down for a little bit of flow wood.

One way to beat the gold cap and inventory cap, buy 10 rooms and go down to 1K gold, then sell all your stuff in the bin a couple times and be right back up to almost 60k sfter the next bin sale (and still have more stuff to sell once it sells for the 3rd time)
Ill be back to 100k after my bin sales are all done.
But I will have storage again and wont be at gold cap.
Crazy mechs this game has, just raise the storage and gold cap already.
And throw in raising the flower cap while your at it.

Usually as far as quests go, if you go to Youtube, and type in the name of the quest with Palia at the end you will find a walkthru for that quest (there are videos for all of the quests out there)

It should always put you back in the spot where you logged off - if you crashed or got dc'd, it puts you back at the last spot where your game had connection to the servers.

Remember, it's not always your side that has connection issues - it might have been the servers having a little hiccup.

Sometimes if you stand in a "weird" location (like a certain spot of soil in Kilima village or on top of a fence) and log out from there, it'll send you elsewhere upon logging in. I know because this was tested by a friend for those same spots over and over and it happened every time..I think the temples have typically sent me elsewhere upon signing back in if I've logged out in them
