Fisherman’s brew, sushi, there’s some others that increase size of the two curves. It’s really just RNG.

If it’s not the fish you are looking for you don’t have to reel it in. Don’t press any buttons. Then recast the line. You won’t waste worms doing this.

I’ve watched videos on the spots others have caught the fish and found it easier to catch them somewhat. The one that gave me the most trouble is the giant Kilima stingray. My RNG wasn’t liking me on that one but it finally got to it.

Just read the messages about the prices of the outfit from earlier and, If I may add, I think it's a bit crazy to put outfit behind a paywall for a cozy game. I mean the point of the game is "aesthetic". I mean compare with other MMO where there's ton of stuff to do and that the aesthetic is really secondary (or completely forgettable) Here, appearances are one of center point right ? Or maybe Im thinking to much about it. but the price is still way too high.

They do offer quite a handful of options atm, that are free. While they may not be flashy, like the paid ones are. That’s kind of the point. You pay to have the flashier look. The outfits do not affect the game play! They are aesthetic. Does it suck, sure. They have to make money somehow though.

Pricing is a bit eh but I'm really thankful that most (ahem Sylph) of the outfits feel very lore friendly. That's not something you often see in MMOs? Like a mediaeval fantasy will take a sponsorship with Pepsi and it just looks so wrong. I love the aesthetics they've worked within for the premium outfits

They already mentioned they don't plan on adding any F2P cosmetic options (anytime soon). Not counting the FOMO/Limited Twitch Drops and stuff. Unless they've changed their mind since then, and I haven't seen it?

Plus, earnable outfits in regards to skills seems kinda moot/something that doesn't seem... in the horizon in my opinion, just because there's outfits in the Cash-Shop that are skill-based. Would seem a bit odd to have both. But that part may be more of my opinion lol

Oof, that's rough. I never spent money I didn't have and I don't regret it too much but yeah, they really took it too far in that game. Everything nice is paid, housing is too expensive and it's ultimately not good value for money.
This is why FFXIV is my main MMO now😁

I think it's just because of the different parts of their advertising that drew different people in. like I play because I saw the "cozy MMO" tag but after cakes got nerfed the multiplayer feels very lacking, which is a big disappointment for me personally. and the game is still in active development (more specifically beta so not set in stone) so people have tried their best to have their opinions & reasonings heard
(also I'm absolutely someone who'd be sucked in to aiming for all of those plushies too but I still need to reinstall from a recent computer malfunction )

Idk the multiplayer is what you make it. I've been talking in game a lot more recently. And cake parties still fun! No MMO as far as I'm concerned is social. 😦 Once they introduce more for communities, I'm sure that will pick up.

I've never had a real sense of community from many MMOs. I quit FF cause it was so anti-newbie that we found ourselves at 100 hours feeling completely ostricised from it. People would just rush dungeons, no talking, explaining etc... after 100 hours, me and the fella gave up.

My brain isn't good at raid content, i.e lots going on on screen, so I was never interested in WoW. I'm actively anti-social in RS3, and uh.. there's nothing else I'm particularly active on any more. Most MMOs are so fighty etc these days and I got bored of that a long time ago, hence why Palia is a breath of fresh air.

Yeah, maybe with FF it depends on the Datacenter you play on? Because, I've only really seen good things from FF minus like... one time. Normally, in my experience, if you tell ppl that it's your first time doing a dungeon, they slow down or help. There was only 1 time that wasn't the case. I know that that differs with everyone though!!! same with palia-- cuz some ppl say they haven't met anybody being rude/mean in regards to trees, palium, etc, but i've definitely seen that in the past lol ... and seen some in discord

If we ignore people constantly telling me it gets good after the first 100 hours or so (which is INSANE, I've completed loads of other games in far less than 100 hours, this expectation is incredible), I was barely spoken to by a soul in game in FF, and that was even as a cat girl, lol. I was also very disheartened by how difficult getting a Player owned home was, but I saw that was a complain pretty much everywhere. We had family that played and loved it, and they were saying the reason some STORY dungeons are so antisocial or rushed, is because the game has some kinda daily where it comes up, so people just yeet through it to tick that box. Not an ideal game design, we got completely left behind and never returned to the game after it. For us, it ruined the immersion, we had no idea what had just happened and the story from there was kinda.. unclear? I didn't get far into doing dungeons after we had this experience a few times. :S Just felt like the only way to learn the dungeon was to watch youtube for hours and I'm sorry, but that kinda commitment if I don't absolutely love the game, wasn't attractive to me. If I have to use a third party site to eventually enjoy the game (not even a wiki), then I'm out loool.

I do know lots of people love it, it just wasn't for us. :S I wouldn't say it's bad. the story was kinda predictable too at times. Supposedly it gets better but I gave up waiting. Too many fetch quests and go here, go there.

I remember sitting down at some point with some random player, in the middle of a city, and we just had some random convo about... pretty much nothing? The main stuff I did in FF though, myself, was get on that fishing boat and just fish for a bit. Would do this quite often, and it was fun sometimes to talk to tohers who were doing the same thing. Fishing was always so calming/relaxing to me in the game hehe

Your feelings are valid, but usually a quick hey I’m new for the most part has people immediately pause and ask what you need and how you’d like to run it tbh. Though I think if you ever decide to get into it again I’d join an FC for newbies or the novice network (depending on your DC cause some are trash). My FC personally loves a newbie so they’re frequently running dungeons with them or helping randoms new to end game raiding clear. I just finished EW and I came out of my last CS to a group that had recently cleared TOP cheering me on and asking if I wanted them help with the last dungeons/trials honestly was so sweet they had met some 3 years ago in game and been together ever since. I think my own FC just met up for a trip to Japan together lol so there’s definitely some good social interactions you can have.

I did all of this. I did join a group but all the ones for newbs are FULL of newbs, or they were at the time. When we started playing, it was around the time that Asmongold switched from WoW to FF so there was a massive influx of lil saplings. I think we all got lost in the quagmire a bit.

ARR is important, and it's good in its importance. Without the foundation it provides, there's nothing to leap off of for everything else that comes after it. That's the whole point of telling a story like that.

Nah I wouldn't want to repay for everything, I had paid stuff on my OG account. Basically to reset your password you need the one time passcode, but we can't get it cause the apps were on our old phones. You need an emergency password to delete it, god knows what happened to those in the last 2 years. I've also had a new PC since then, so it's not like it's saved anywhere lol. And when I asked support to help me, they said your birthday is wrong so we're going to take no action. I use 2FA on EVERYTHING. But its all through the same authenticator, or email. Because FF uses it's own unique app, it doesn't transfer over like google auth or microsoft auth do, so when we got new phones, it didnt' transfer nice and easy like all the rest of my 2FA codes did.

We need to be able to lock lights on or off. Also lock removal of furniture. I’d like to plant and harvest flowers around my perfectly placed pagoda without fear of removing it. Planting them around lights is a pain too

I do the planting and seed grabbing far away from everything to make life easy. I didn't have any trouble moving them around my furniture. And if you do pick it up accidentally (if you're on PC) you can right click to cancel and it will drop it right back where it was 🙂

Locking would be a neat feature though, defo agree with that.

I sell flowers as well as decorate with them.. so they have the same mechanic as removing furniture when you pick them up after collecting the seeds . Can’t put them around anything unless you’re careful. They need some sort of crop collection function

Idk, I haven't had any difficulties picking them up or removing them, and I've got mine wrapped real hard around several bits of furni. But I when I do pick up stuff in error, I use the grid to get it back down again where it was. If it went there before, it'll heckin go there again

If you use the A button for relocation it can be cancelled . When i’m quickly collecting a whole patch of flowers for selling i use the X button. Flowers and furniture can’t be cancelled and go straight to inventory with X.

do trees and flowers behave as furniture items once grown? or do they take up storage space?

Flowers do, trees for me seem broken? Always got a water icon regardless of being watered several times. I don't know if it's because they were planted before update or not though. I don't want them to grow to mature size either, just want them at adult size. Can't seem to make the water icon go away for any of them regardless. Not keen on it at all, and I sincerely hope they remove the dirt mound they added to trees in the process.

The water icons remain if not fully grown and yes, the dirt piles need to be removed. They're a blight on the landscape!!

It’s cross play so you can use the same account. Can’t be logged on the same account from pc and switch at the simultaneously. The water icon for mature trees goes away after you water it enough to drop a seed. But yea they need to go away for young trees if you want them to. Also need the option to remove dirt mounds

I just had a weird experience with the post-temple of roots quest

||The one where I had to plant an oak tree for the gardener: I planted an acorn in my house plot, watered it, then went to my plant nursery plot to tend to my flowers

I went back to my house plot and my new oak seedling was completely gone 💀 checked every plot I had (plant nursery, construction, multiplayer kitchen cafe, etc) and couldnt find my seedling

Then I looked at the quest and it said I was done and to go talk to the gardener? So I went and it finished the quest did the gardener just ate my oak seedling ||

Flow trees are random. They will spawn randomly anywhere. Though at 12 am server time, a grove of them will spawn. It’s in Bahari and the spot is random also.

But good luck getting any help cutting them. It seems that nobody cares to get flow anymore. More and more flow trees and groves, are getting ignored.

I've found that calling them in server chat usually gets you a group... Sometimes just 3-4 people, I've seen 15+ too...

Developers should make it easier to cut down these trees

It seems like they don't even care about the comments from people who play

You can cut all but the large ones on your own, if you have the highest-level ax. Should give you some flow wood even if not all.
Another option would be to shoot a flare arrow, and wait for people to come. It probably will take a while, but it's better than nothing I guess.

Seeing as I’m currently in a full server, with tons running around flooded steps. Calling out a grove in flooded fortress over and over and it’s now 7 am game time and still no one has showed up. Which is something I’m seeing very commonly now…..

People get mad that some people chop the small trees alone or a group of 2 will chop a grove without calling. I don’t really blame them tbh. Call outs are becoming more and more time wasted.

It’s becoming hit and miss. The problem I’m seeing is that more and more people are ignoring the flow tree call outs and I see a lot of others are having same issues. Tons of reddit posts about it.

I've already sent several feedbacks asking for improvements and changes and nothing.

It's not a guarantee to get changed - the devs might have other priorities, or think it works fine as you see it despite some frustrations from the players, or they see that on average people get more flow wood and the complaints seem to be from people who got unlucky with the RNG, or they quietly adjusted the spawn rate of flow trees and see if that helps, or...

Oh on my servers it isn’t like this at all… just one thing I skip on if the grove is in north ff it’s usually only 2 trees so waste of time to wait for 10 min for others to arrive. Other groves I always join

Yeah it’s definitely hit or miss with me. Becoming more and more 50/50. I mean it sucks, but there’s always more flow trees eventually. I just tend to see a lot of people get mad when people cut without letting others get. Which I also get. Yeah tbh the waiting is sometimes a bit frustrating to me. when someone calls out a grove you can just fast travel to the closest point. Yesterday the grove spawned on me so at midnight and then people got mad 3 am in game time that we chopped it.. like you had enough time jeeez 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Hoping they change flow trees to be more like the pal nodes, or some kind of fix. I’ve also had servers where everyone leaves and I’m all alone and I can’t cut some flow trees alone. So I’ll have 3 groves up and not able to cut a lot of the trees. Sooo much flow wasted!

I think single flow trees, it's fine to cut relatively quickly, and for groves to announce in chat - will cut at 3AM, or so, or ask if anyone is on the way and if so wait for them... You're right that single flow trees are hard to find people for, it helps if I phrase it in the chat as "I need help with ft at xyz", not just "ft at xyz".

Yes! Waiting to a certain point to, is reasonable. Some people are unreasonable about waiting. Which is why I’d love to see some kind of change to the flow trees in the future. Though eventually, flow will become last years materials. 😂

Oh I do! When there are people around who do groves with me, I always say 3 am! We were talking about the people who want to keep waiting for more and more people who just join server. Like it’s 3 am, why ask is anyone else coming and then wait for that person then it’s now 4am and we’re asking again and now that person is coming, and so on!

Plus we found like half a dozen individual trees running between the two.
Everyone was super patient, everyone got a hit.

has been around for a long time, if you mean said fish swims away when you try to reel?

a temp fix if it is that problem, is to not reel the first time, let it swim, do nothing, let it re-bite then reel on 2nd go

however the temp fix doesn't always work and it swims away both times, thus losing the fish anyway (i get both issues often)
