from what i heard, the cylinders are placeholders for empty spawn points. i've found both shells and oysters at the beach so i think that's right, but i guess you could confirm it by just standing by a cylinder and see if it gets replaced by a shell or oyster eventually

We can give requests. But unfortunately that doesn’t include gifting furniture. It would be great to help each other make our home plots look nice. Some struggle to make money in the game. It would be nice to help each other more with crafting harder to make furniture. Like how we can cook together.

So like you know how you go into the house plot and you use the editor and it always chooses the same angle eveytime? What if the angle changes based off of where you’re looking so it already is in the area you need to move sowmthing ot add a building to your house! That’s true. The first time I tried decorating I didn’t understand that my character would be the one placing everything. Most decorating in games gives you an overhead view and you select items from the full inventory. Having to place items in the pockets and then place them in the house is kind of a pain. I haven’t decorated much.

I’d rather make the pieces I want. While I find the inspiration thing kind of fun it just makes more sense if we could get something out of the crafting. It would be great if after we craft all the pieces of a set that we could break them down. Even if we only get half the material back, it would make it more fun. I have barely started in my house. I agree. I love the aspect of inspiration, because with no monetary gain from crafting, I think it would be asinine to pay for every single recipe just to get what we want, or in order to level up to the set we want. Being able to break down for materials, sell, trade, or gift would all be super cool ways to make crafting in early game so much more fun. It’s my lowest skill level because I genuinely don’t like anything offered right now :’) and it hurts to spend the mats knowing I have to destroy it or find some corner to tuck it into.

Yes. I agree. Grinding for the better materials is hard and sometimes one furniture piece wipes out almost all of my supply of those materials. If I could break unwanted ones down to get back some it would make it more fun. Furniture is my lowest too. I craft one nice piece and then have to go gather more stuff. Storage needs to be bigger.

They need to polish the cooking UI for groups in my option. It feels really wonky to try and coordinate with my friends sitting next to me let alone folks across the globe with how things jump around. Really annoying when you're on a controller and trying to customize the recipe a bit.

And I know I've seen people repost the same image snips a few times about some kind of... combat-esque optional content S6 has talked about... depending on how they do it, it sounds like it will entirely group-based.. just have to wait and see. Thing is, I find this true in pretty much all MMOs - they're not as "deep" and "involved" as more traditional single-player RPGs, even through they share a lot of the same elements, things just tend to be "toned down" or "watered down", to create a more broad-reaching playfield... not 100% of the time, but that is the general trend I've seen.

@vivid walrus I get you - I've dropped suggestions to enable the Hot Pot collectible we got from the Stamp Card to allow us to just play the game for the sake of playing the game.
I'd even weclome a far less sucky version of Full Metal Chaapa that could be played with others.

So just as I predicted, palium now takes 3 minutes to respawn instead of respawning instantly. There's only 7 palium nodes on the map at any given time. This means if you mine a palium node, for the next 3 minutes you have 15% less chance of finding another palium node.

Yeah, Switch graphics are very low. The difference is pretty night and day. My least favorite difference is in the kilima inn, because on PC it has so much life shown in the pictures of everyone and such and it's all absent for Switch

I have a suggestion for Palia regarding the makeshift furniture in the waterlogged chests. I think it would be a great item to have a Makeshift furniture points store where you trade in your extra makeshift furnitures for points. Then you with those points you can buy the makeshift furniture pieces you are missing. The cost can be based on the rarity of the item and also you get more points too if you trade in a rarer makeshift item.

Is anyone having weird issues with not getting palium drops? I called out a couple of nodes, tapped them, and came back less than three minutes later, nodes gone, no drops.
I tried checking the areas where they'd been in case the drops had hidden themselves in the floor

i think because of the change tapping doesn’t work, so if you left and someone had mined it and you missed coming back in time then it’s technically like you didn’t touch it

tbh is there a reason to tap like that anymore anyway? unless you are mining with someone who's very close by, i think breaking it to start the timer is fine, especially as you don't actually know if someone broke it before you or if someone will break it right after and start the timer anyway

there are barely any new bugs that affect gameplay, unless you were planning a big muujin hunt or something. some people are having server issues, but it seems to vary by region maybe (i haven't had any issues in EU)

they explain it fairly comprehensively in the patch notes. https://palia.info/patch177 basically mining nodes work like forageables now and will persist for 3 minutes after the first person broke it. if it's about to despawn it will flash rapidly. the new etiquette seems to be to just break it as soon as you find it, if possible flare it, call it out if you like.

Most players don't really do that, in my experience, but instead move from goal to goal doing stuff in Bahari. They're not going to notice the new timer, they're just going to spot Palium they probably would have missed out on before the change

you can romance everyone at once, it's just you can only wear two pins simultaneously. most characters don't have unique dialogue about other romances, though there are a few that do.

The Temple of the Waves is weird in a few ways now that we have other Temples. For example, there's no hunt for Seeker medallions like there are in the two other temple bundles.

I suppose it makes sense the first temple was sort of a test run for bundles

No, I don't think kitchen items take up crafting slots? It's mainly the autocrafters

For the skillet mini game no matter when I press it, it either restarts it or buzzes as wrong. I've tried multiple times and can not complete it. Never had a problem before.

The mini-games have been buggy for a while. Pretty sure on PC before the Switch version released. They claimed to have fixed, I thought, but apparently not. Filing a bug report couldn't hurt.

it's not very clear in instructions, but just hold the button down. you don't press. and that's for flipping and stirring
