im a switch only player. While I was aware of this games existence even before the PC alpha/beta, all my experiences thus far have only been since switch launch. Ive only seen 1 update. I need to personally see about three or four more updates so I can see what their priorities are, what changes are being made and how, and then I can start forming opinions on things

176 was the best patch they ever did + it broke almost nothing, compared to other patches at least

What QA departments in every field do; find what they can. Realistically, things may have been found, (like the smoke) judged as "low priority/fix in later patch" and pushed live

I could see using various magical effects to do things like moving boulders or raising walls or barriers to turn enemies away, or drive them into containers - think djinni in a bottle, or otherwise sealed away. As a group event, might require a number of players raising/reenforcing the barriers, others to raise obstacles to drive the whatever to wherever is required to seal them away.

Yep, the wind currents circle around, the last one in the circle will lodt you high enough to land on the pillar of the turbine. There's a colored egg you don't collect there. It's just a clue.

The only ways I know is mining iron to get it to spawn, also keep an eye on the chat if anyone calls for it. And check areas that people don't walk past randomly, like caves or so, I've found it to contain palium surprisingly often.

1440 is the max payout, assuming everyone else has 2 matched item pairs and you go out with 3.

The first couple days I played with my community. We just told each other what we were collecting, passed what we needed to each other, and whenever we were all staged up, someone would either draw or throw whatever card was needed and we'd load the game for max payout each round.

Mining iron does not get palium to spawn. There are a set number of palium nodes in bahari and that number is almost always maxed out (I think its 7 or 8 nodes). All mining iron does is create more places for the palium to spawn when the next palium node is broken

I see, I must've seen that effect of more spawning around me then. Been running around one corner of Bahari, mining iron, and got an (in my opinion) decent amount of Palium. Thanks for mentioning!

basically. If you mine in like a tight circle area and other people are running around palium hunting, by staying in a set area and continuing mining, then yes, you are increasing the probabilty of palium to spawn around you as others are broken around bahari

the success of that is also going to partially depend on how many other people are also mining in bahari too

so you are in a sense you're still tilting the odds in your favor, but not the way a lot of people explain it

We should be getting some of that with the Elderwoods too, but so much more will go wrong with something potentially larger and more involved than the Kilima build. Though perhaps our first way into Bahari City will be through the Underground and will be a smaller map w fewer new NPCs

No. The smallest farmable land you can get is 3x3 and you can have a total of 9 of those to expand to 9x9. You can still grow just a single crop though, if you really want to, but it's more profitable to grow 81

it's super fun, the wizard guy is only one of three characters, and in single player you basically swap between them as you play, but if you play with others everyone gets to pick one to play so you can solve puzzles with the abilities of all 3. There's an archer/rogue woman who has a grappling hook and can shoot targets, the warrior dude has sword/shield and can hold up closing doors with his shield to let others pass through, etc etc. The wizard basically has levitation magic... while there is combat, it's very much a puzzle game first and foremost. I can send you a DM with a couple vids if you'd like.

Today's Glitch: Hyperfarming - planted seeds at 2:30am, went to the Market, got distracted, missed the market, so went home. All of 2:30's seeds were ready to harvest, and 4 of 5 apple trees were ready as well. Harvested apples, watered trees, harvested apples again. Not complaining, just haven't seen that happen before

can we talk about how abysmal the drop rates are for some gems... particularly emeralds? I've mined copper for non stop (don't ask why I'm doing this to myself). I have a fully upgraded pick axe and I've let it drain to nearly nothing and repaired it a total of 7 times. think about how many hours of non stop mining copper that is lol

the problem I think, is that emeralds share a chance to drop with two other gems (onyx and quartz). so say emerald had a 1% chance to drop (don't actually know the rate, just guessing), there's still a chance a gem with a higher chance will take its spot. I've found rubies more consistently. I had the same problem completing the bug collection and trying to get the raspberry beetle. It should be as rare as a jewelwing or rainbow tip, but because it shares a spawn with other bugs, it's extremely rare

I haven't played Palia in a very long time and completely abandoned the game, but recently I've been thinking about trying again. I have a question tho and I'll be very grateful if someone tells me whether the devs fixed the lighting. Cause I remember the lighting becoming much paler and colder than it used to (after patch 1.066 if I'm not mistaken) and the general cozy vibe was ruined. So I was wondering if it's still the case.
Also, the last time I checked the game, the dialogues look weird as hell, because suddenly NPCs were standing muuuch further from the screen rather than talking to your face. Is it also a thing now or was it a bug/a bad decision that was fixed?

it's only exploitative if they're using third-party tools to play something while they're potentially not even at their PC, which an auto-clicker would be

otherwise I would just treat them as an NPC player, since their behaviour is exactly like playing with one, or try calling out on chat for real players to join your table when moving to another table. If you can snag 3 other players who don't do this, sometimes they're willing to seat the table round after round and block this person from joining

I think the NPCs play this game so badly, they it's actually a detriment to actual players trying to play the game.

After 17 rounds, I don't think that someone would hold onto a lone orange card for no reason, which prevented me from ending/winning the game.

We picked a color, collected those cards, made our sets, and just took turns going out and racking up 1440 point hands pretty much the entire first day.

I've been a bit exhausted with you guys thanks to the issues of not being able to pick my server, being forced to play in the Asia pacific server with unfriendly Asians whose language I do not speak, being unable to play with my (EU-based) boyfriend, being unable to login to the game consistently, and other issues but I enjoyed the last Maji market so much that I've been making an effort to log in.

First off, the fact that everything is overpriced and costs not gold but those special envelopes is a huge turn off. Earning those envelopes is such hard work for people like me who don't live in the game 24/7. I also can't be bothered following and watching twitch streams I'm not interested in for hours and hours simply to earn more envelopes that barely scratch the surface. I don't even want anything. I tried making an effort with buying the food and such but I can't be arsed. Seriously, you guys are tone deaf when it comes to feedback. It's exhausting.

Something that's supposed to be fun has now become another endless grind. No thanks.

I can't say with absolute certainty, but pre-event, I'd have sworn groves happened on the hour, day or night.

Might be why we see so many scattered trees too - remnants of previous groves where people went "forget this, it's hotpot o'clock", got the cycles all out of whack. Just theory-crafting

also the other mechanic to get flowtrees which results in scattered flowtrees, is that every tree that was chopped has a chance to respawn as a flowtree (and sometimes there are no players around so players just let the big flowtrees do their thing bcs they can't chop it on their own)

@lyric nightThat I have heard and seen a few times. If I'm clearing trees en masse it means I'm either getting ready to build out an entire furniture line all at once, or I'm hunting bluebristle muujin and just not leaving them anywhere to hide.

Another reason for clear-cutting: there is a chance when a tree respawns that it is a flow tree. So clear cut to find those flow trees.

Oh... oh my... oh that is terrible and terribly disturbing.... I just fished up a wet box, containing a makeshift wreath.. which is a wagon wheel. Clearly S6 does not recognize the significance of hanging a wagonwheel as a "wreath", or this would not exist.

@sick spire Yes, and some, possibly many, are bought for their.. lesser-known intent as well. A lot of people will simply not know why this isn't something one hangs lightly. If you know the significance, you'd understand. For those who don't, or wonder why - you have to first understand, I am significantly older than the average player here - old enough to be plenty of peoples' parent or even grandparent, and I grew up in Missouri, before there was Dungeons and Dragons, before there was the Internet and before there was Star Wars. I've also studied a wide area of subject matters, including human psychology and sociology. Hanging a wagonwheel, for those of like minds, signifies "This house is the home of a Klansman, others are not welcomed."

It is still used for this purpose, by those who choose to associate themselves.

This wasn't chosen by accident either - it dates back to the dark ages, where a wagonwheel was used as a torture device - the phrase "broken on the wheel" means, quite literally exactly that. A victim would be bound over a large wagon wheel and torutured until physically broken.

And yes, I am also aware, plenty of completely normal folks have used these as nothing more than a decoration, which is what makes this ultimately disturbing.. that unlearned history. It just never bodes well.

But there are a lot of things with dark sides plenty of people are blissfully unaware of.. sometimes to humorous effect, other times... there have been enough cases of people getting into uncomfortable situations simply by not knowing some obscure bit of history or symbolism.

Another one, in more recent history I could only shake my head at - there was a campaign some years ago, for people who were anti-firearms, to put a red light on their porch, to signify they were an unarmed household. Not a smart idea in the first place, but worse - the hanging of a red outdoor light is also well known for its real significance: "This is a house of ill-repute. Come in and pay for intimate relationships. Satisfaction Not Guaranteed, No Refunds." It's where the term "red light district" comes from.
