Does deforestation pay off, or should I just bet on groves?
Compared to 1-2 months ago, deforestation so far has yielded a much lesser result of spawning flow trees.. or have I just fallen out of grace with RNG gods?

Don't think they adjusted the rate of flow trees spawning but groves are pretty good source especially if you can login at midnight several times a day

Grove is less flow, but more effective. Meaning for the time you spend doing it you get a lot more flow compared to the time you have to spend deforesting.

Deforesting if done for a long time, can certainly net you far more flow.

If you deforest in a group, it's going to be more flow, and more effective.

Unless you want to spent an hour+ chopping wood, then just attending Groves regularly is sufficient. Especially since there's not really anything gained from rushing through this game.

This has been happening on and off for different patches and hotfixes for me and some others too, when it gets to 6k it usually crashes and i reload and its back to normal until it sneaks its way back up. No idea what’s causing it since i’m not techy but it usually gets fixed in the next patch for a couple weeks/months, i think they just reverted to an old version of things to remove a bunch of bugs (but also gave us back old settings like single crafting and such)

I wouldn’t suggest swapping to direct 11 because it made it so me and my friends coupdn’t get into game anymore, after switching back to 12 we could get in but still had memory issues.

It's actually quite concerning bc no one seems to actually be addressing it and they just tell you to turn the graphics down or update drivers which doesn't fix anything

Climbing bugs and friendship bugs and server bugs are all gameplay though, as a game dev your first priority is making sure your game should function without damaging your user's hardware imo

as someone who's also been nagging them to address the accessibility ( I have a severe tremor and cant do a lot of the things the game asks without punishment) I still want the leak fixed first

arguably people not being able to play your game at all is usually a pretty big deal DSGG

Hardware damage is a weird one

Software should not be able to cause any real damage, provided that your hardware has all the necessary safety mechanisms working properly

But it's also something that usually only happens with edge cases. A game shouldn't be able to stress your PC hard enough to damage it. What should happen in all scenarios like that is it just shuts down to protect itself from the unusual current draw. That should happen reliably, and safely, no matter what

If your PC does get damaged by this, it's almost always a hardware fault

Usually an issue on older laptops, but the performance difference would be extremely noticeable. Like this game just doesn't run on an intel iGPU anymore (except maybe IrisXE, or whatever the latest AMD is )

It could totally be an issue with the game and the AMD drivers. I've seen something similar before, but i'm not sure on what kind of hardware that was on

Try doing an actual benchmark. I usually just run FurMark for a bit, that should bring out any issues you have. Try running it with a resolution that you would normally run on to hit ~60-70 FPS, then something much lower on higher FPS (like 2-300+)

It's a never ending battle that will only go well if Blizzard actually makes fights doable without them. To give them credit, they have been trying to get that started in Dragonflight, but it will definitely take a lot more than an expansion worth of raids to get the hang of it

That’s part of why people complain about Dreamlight Valley. It’s not complete. People seem to not understand that some games are never ending because they are designed open ended while they might have chapters that start and end, the core of the game keeps going. But some expect a game will end. This kind isn’t supposed to. Not unless it drives away players. If it can fix issues and better its user interface it could last for decades. But the players want to have fun and have reason to stay with the game. I am enjoying the story. I don’t mind puzzles as long as they are solvable. I do hope they can fix things and balance the game for everyone.

That is true. Fix at least 98% of the issues before making more. I don’t know how much time they take the game down for when they do patches. They haven’t had one because of the holidays and I’ve only played since Switch release.

I think the big thing is that farming is a really good source of income (and, along with preserving, the only source of passive income). So any additional plots would also mean you could make a lot more money potentially, and tbh right now there's not that much to spend it on.

It's really overstimulating for my autistic brain, especially when I'm decorating multiple things near the door and it just opens and closes constantly. Only thing I can do now is completely turn off the sound effect settings, but that also takes away the immersion of the other environmental sounds that I do like. And then turn them back on when I no longer have to be near a door a lot. But that's pretty tedious to do.

I would REALLY love if a (near) future update would bring a change for this, maybe a new setting where you can toggle it on and off. And if it's off, you have to use the interaction key/button to open it or something.

And ND brain is always forgetti what else I need to do, or the adhd makes me zigzag to every crafter. The door has no idea if I want out or stay inside xD
