So, I think fishing is now fixed, at least I had no issues today. It's funny how palia fishing relaxes me. I still have no luck with palium since last update and Hassian's mine seems to have dried up. I finally got the magic chappa, so it completed all the magic animals for me BUT I can not get the dang golden glory bee to save me. I did however get 3 switch drops soooo it's been a good palia day!!

OH and the surnuk and chappas seem to be drowning themselves, lol.

Palium has been dry as a bone since the patch. The change has really made gathering it tough. I used to be able to run a palium route and get 15-20 ore, now I can go for an hour and get maybe half that. I've tried an ore compass, but it just points out Iron nodes in addition to palium nodes. Maybe balance the palium spawn changes by making the ore compass only point to palium?

Didn’t they say that they were changing it so palium could spawn anywhere that has an iron node? If that’s happened that might explain why the usual palium spots are seemingly spawning less. Or perhaps less players on server since they opened the other regions?

That's the note the added last patch. The palium-specific spots have gone bone dry, and the nodes now appear where there never was palium before. That spreads it out across the entirety of Bahari Bay, and greatly reduces the chance of finding it in any one spot.

Just a note whoever read my complaints yesterday: The candle light quest optional part can be done, as the quest does NOT auto-completes the moment you go to your plot, you can avoid the NPC. It does block any other quest what needs NPC talk at your house though...

You can only wisper people on your friendlist so that is also controlled a bit. Also from my experience i seen very few people having adult conversations ingame so i would say its a pretty kid friendly game. Lastly streamer mode turns off all chats and names, but if you load into a new area the world chat will be turned on, every other chat + names are still turned off though

Per Tiny's request I have moved this from gameplay. Maybe we should have had the sixth month beta on the Switch. It's super janky. I have stutter when I run. Stutter when I scan the map. Exiting the map in the caves kicks me to the store and occassionaly when exiting the map out of the caves. In the bay there is minimal chapaa and the Sernuks are completly dissapearing off the map after putting your first arrow in them. I love, love, love this game and played the beta while excitiedly waiting for it to come to switch and I'm a litte concerned that maybe it was too soon for release. My gaming laptop fans run when I play and I'm wondering if the Switch is just not powerful enough to run this game? Also, I wish it was added to the Nintendo Switch Online app, so typing and chat would be easier. I'm excited to see what is to come and if the Switch gets itself settled down, but may jump back to the pc and that makes me sad for my Switch only friends.

Does anyone know how long you would need to wait for rocks to respawn in a certain area? I've cleared the area around the south of flooded fortress where I know Palium can spawn and am currently waiting for the rocks to come back. According to a reddit post it can be between 15 to 30 mins, but the post is 4 months old, does this seem correct and still apply?
I know about the palium route you can take around the bay but I'm not able to do that atm.

Palium doesn't really spawn in it's original locations anymore, it'll spawn anywhere Iron nodes can spawn - basically we have to run across Bahari looking for Palium now 🫶🏾

Also to note, ore respawning relies on other people mining. When you break a node, another one appears on the map somewhere
So if a lot of people are mining, respawn rates will be faster.

Mining a node starts a timer on that node. When it respawns, what that node is will be determined by how the devs have weighted the possibilities.

Agreed. I think a major issue is a lack of actual transparency, right now there's only a sense of it, as well as not being able to manage expectations correctly. My positive impression soured when I learned what that actually meant- "we will not allow you to earn any cosmetics through gameplay because all of them are going to be in the store".

Yep, same. It's what soured me enough to stop playing the game, because there wasn't anything I was interested in pursuing that I could earn.
You know how the saying goes for most MMOs- "fashion is endgame".
Palia could have held me for a lot longer if I could earn cosmetics, and then maybe buy a few premium items to mix and match with them, but as it stands... They basically gutted an entire reward type from their game, and gutted all the progression/activities that could have tied into that, for the sake of trying to squeeze out a few more $$$$.

Earning clothes would be a great incentive. I think the game really needs more social elements and adventures or activities too. It's not really a MMO, it's an online multiplayer game where you can possibly group up (if the party invite works for you). Not to mention that if you have that issue where the chat randomly disconnects, sometimes it tells you, sometimes you don't know until you try to send a message in the game. You're completely isolated from communicating with anyone, you could re-log but chances are that you'll experience the same thing as it doesn't seem to be fixed by re logging. This might be fine for some if they want to play solo but for the stuff that you can actually do as a co-op team is the FT trees/grove and hunting Muuji you'll have to wait until those issues are fixed to play the game they've advertised. This is stuff that should have been fixed in Alpha and closed Beta, not persist in what is their now Early Access release.

Yep! That ones for twitch. Watching 1 hour between dec 14 and dec 21 gets you a rug, 2.5 hours between dec 14 and dec 21 gets you a plush, then from dec 22 to dec 29 1 hour gets a rug, 2.5 hours gets you a wallpaper, and 3.5 hours gets you the glasses, so between those dates just watch Palia streams on twitch (after you link your account) and you should get the rewards

Buzzy Jars are a solid option, make sure you’re catching things as you go so new stuff spawns.

I ended up doing a server hopping method with a buzzy jar to find a starred one; jumping between a couple of the stables in Kilima - checking the compass and running just a little ways from the stables - and then going to the Bahari Stable, back to Kilima, repeat.

You can buy the rarer version of money (primogems) with real money to get a bunch of it, this is done A LOT because genshin revolves around a gacha system to get characters to join your party, which uses primogems in exchange for a “wish” that you use to pull for the character, just like putting a quarter in a gumball machine. There’s a whole pity system and stuff, it takes a lot to get characters, but it’s still completely free to play, just takes more quest doing and exploration to earn the primogems instead of buying them. Genshin makes millions

think of it like this, in MMOS your main show of who you are as a player is your char, you get the best gear, the best costumes, weapon, pet, mount, etc
here we only have our house as our free customization and some basic clothes
there is no way to show off your house to strangers, only to friends or people you start talking to, not like you could by playing and running around with people
there is 0 progression for you to show except your tools, you could be level 500 and look exactly the same as a noob that just got level 20
what is the point if you cannot express your progression and hard earned items on yourself?

Also thought getting a pet would be a part of the story, maybe even being able to tame one, I’m very sad you have to pay to get one. I want to support Palia! Not the best, really choppy sometimes, but it’s where you invite people to your “world” which is the same as everyone else’s. Of course some may have more unlocked then others. It’s a max of 4 people but Palia could do even more. It would help it seem more personal, but still let us play with friends! You can turn on or off whether people can request to join your world too.

as of right now, they're really only for the shared chat. some communities will organize parties in them but most don't really do that either and use discords. they're supposed to be adding content at some point related to communities, but if you don't have a group that you want to join just for the convenience of the chat, feel free to just avoid them for the time being.

you're also able to leave communities and join a different one (only one at a time) so if you DO have a group you want to share a private chat with but maybe don't want to stay in for content later, you can leave to move to a different one if needed

you don't even need to make teams for a lot of things tbh, teams are really just for showing people on the map and having a team chat, buuut cooking parties are often more than 4 people so they can't fit in a team anyway.

there's not exactly a cooking "bonus", you still make the same recipes the same way with multiple people as you would solo. but you can split the recipe up to multiple people so everyone can contribute less than if they made it on their own.

that would be accurate for a lot of recipes, yeah! it's not really worth it to cook many of the recipes solo because cost of any store-only ingredients + the value of just throwing the foraged/hunted/etc ingredients in the bin comes out to more than the cooked food. cooking with even one other person makes cooking for profit far more viable though.

I guess I would call it an advantage over a bonus because you still get the same result, but you put less in (as an individual) to get it

Just want to raise the red flag on player support. My husband does not have the letter yet to begin lighting candles/get the tree. The update for this content was on December 5th... he logs in to play at least every couple of days. It is clearly more than a delay in the mail being pushed to players as it is over 10 days now. just a quick psa for those wanting to do/are in the temple of gales (contains spoiler) || Don’t go to the island with the orb right away, finish the quests from the side island and from zeki to open a wind current, otherwise you risk activating something by mistake and bugging out unable to complete it. ||

Some of the stuff mentioned in the IGN piece seemed really neat; I'm all for a card game you can play with others, and I hope that they bring that minigame into the base game after the event. You have to constantly farm iron and rocks to hopefully get palium. And someone else might get it before you if it spawns.

I've been getting 20-45 in less than and up to an hour. I usually spend an hour at a time mining before leaving to repair and get more food and deal with all the stone. 20 is on the low end as well and if I'm slacking off.
I will note that I climb all the cliffs in the area and go high and low as well.

Again, I select an area on the map and make a circle of it. My most used route is starting at the entrance gate, going past hideaway all the way to the temple of Gales (going up all the cliffs as well) then going around the giant mountain back to the gate.
