Same here. That’s why whenever I do enter kilima, which isn’t that often thankfully, it gets kinda ridiculous. The colors are going crazy this update, the lag is constant and i worry anytime I talk with the villagers my game is gonna crash. It has happened before. I do get laggy in Bahari and EW but it isn’t as bad as Kilima.

I’ve reached this stage over a year ago. The day they can make the game playable on switch is the day it gets outta beta at this rate. But then again who knows? Maybe one day, they’ll actually fix the issues we are having. Tho that day is a looong way away

Until then, as you have said, I am also just enjoying the game (as much as I can that is)

Unfortunately, I can't see them doing so. Switch is too underpowered and it's more likely that switch will just cease to be supported eventually. There's only so much optimization they can squeeze out before it just isn't feasible. Disclaimer: I have the technological knowledge of a very smart zucchini and therefore my "prediction" is just as educated a guess as I can manage. Just makes sense, imho. 🙂

But in all transparency, it struggles a lot. The graphics are low compared to other consoles/PC, lots of lag, lots of crashing. Some months are better than others but switch users assuredly have the hardest time playing.

I have a Switch and while it’s not the best graphics wise or glitching, it’s still super fun to play. I’ve been playing it for 2 years on Switch and it’s manageable, you figure out ways around things. I still say to get it.

Does anyone else have this problem when playing on the Switch? When I want to feed the animals, after the first click on the food, everything jumps back to petting. If I want to give the animal several foods, I have to keep switching back and forth, selecting food and activating it. I can no longer perform the action directly one after the other.
And one more thing: very often, the inventory in houses of the villigers is not available when I enter; sometimes it takes up to 15 seconds before I can see the furnishings and stairs.

In general it is more glitchy after the last update.

the latter is pretty common, assets can load in pretty slowly, particularly on lower powered hardware like switch.

Buy the switch for all of the fantastic games you can only play on switch. Palia is ok on it, but not great for all of the reasons I've mentioned here. But it's free and fun, and I'm adjusting my expectations to enjoy the game accordingly.

The big draw for me with the switch is I can take it everywhere. My favorite online game sadly ended, but I played that across the US on various travels. It's not logistically reasonable to do that with console/PC. Laptop of course, but not quite as portable. I really like Nintendo games.

Is anyone having visual issues with the Bloom Event? Like you can't see the orange smoke or see the sprouts pop up early like the game says they do? For example, I've had the event pop up at B6 3×'s in a row. I would always make my rounds close to noon. No sprouts in sight. I'm trying to help my sister log into her account on my PS5. Every time I try to login it says my account is locked... any ideas what's going on with this? I've tried restarting the PS5 several times. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Your sister needs her own profile on your PS5 for her to be able to log into her account on your PS5.

She cannot log into Palia on your profile on the PS5, as your Palia account is associated with your profile.

Or is it possible she has to sign in with his PSN as a user on my PS5?

If she wants to play on your PS5, she needs to make her own profile on your PS5. She cannot log into her account on your profile/copy of Palia, because your local save (if you've played Palia) is binded to that copy of Palia on your profile.

When she is signed into her own profile on your PS5, she can log into her palia.com account by entering her credentials the first time Palia is launched from her profile.

Also, you should link your personal local save (if you have one/play the game) to a palia.com account to prevent any issues in the future, this will also allow you to participate in twitch events/etc and access the in-game player support ticket.

If you don't play Palia yourself and you don't care if she binds her account credentials to your PS5 profile, she should be able to enter her login credentials on the first time it's launched. I see in the other chat you've already emailed support and they're told you to restart the console, and the account still acts as locked. As they suggested to you in the other channel, player support should be alerted that this is not working.

So we added her bf's playstation account to my PS5 and it seems to be working without issue.

I'm not sure if that messes anything up on either of our consoles but it seems to be working and she's happy now lol

I think Palia is bugged. I can't place any chests in storage. And the storage space isn't increasing even though I've just built eight copper chests.

This was a known issue prior to the update, you should be able to water them through their full cycle now. You've already sent in a ticket in case they won't grow at the grow cycles, so you're good to go there. Move them away from trees if needed, they have trouble be watered sometimes.

It's likely not bugged regarding this -- are you trying to move your storage chests? They need to be placed down on a plot for use/for the storage limit to be "read" by the game.

If you haven't taken away your wooden chests, you need to pick those up off the plot, then, place down the copper chests.

I mean... that's why you sign up for ingredients you do have, and most recipes have at least one thing you can buy from Zekke or Badruu. And many also have jobs that don't require ingredients. Don't sign up for something you don't have the stuff for and there's no problem. That's why the party app is so nice it tells you exactly what you would need 🙂

It helps if it's a beginner friendly party too. I've hosted plenty of parties where new players misunderstood how it worked and didn't have enough of the ingredient and someone is always willing to switch if they can!

Sometimes with this error, people resyncing their device's date and time via the internet can help with the party issue. I think on switch, it's a toggle on/off for date and time to reset.

If your list is full you'll get a 409 error and have to relog.

If you have pending requests just ignore them and send one yourself

To add clarity, a 409 error means you have potentially reached the 200 cap and need to delete friends and the requests on your following list to make room for new FRs. Relogging doesn't fix this issue if the friends list is capped.

If you know you do not have 200 friends and/or pending "following" requests, then resyncing your date and time is the solution.

Hey guys I'm on PS5 and was wondering if anyone else has had this occur lately. It happens to me at least twice daily while playing. I will be cooking in my house and at first it was only when I would mix food in the mixing bowl portion, but then it started happening to me while chopping, but you will push the button for the corresponding action and nothing no chop the dashes will just keep going and going if you are mixing your character will just stand there holding the bowl. I don't believe it's freezing up because it doesn't freeze up anywhere else in game. But if ur in cooking action you pretty much have to exit and re enter the whole game and then it will be fine. Well, now it's happening with gardening, only when planting and fertilizing but you will push the button plant a seed and it's like it just doesn't know ur pushing the button. U can still run around though just can't do any actions. If u leave zone and re enter it fixes it or exit whole game. That's why I don't think it's freezing up because out in garden u can move. Also while cooking there is the little knife animation that chops as each dash passes, that won't be there when this happens, and when mixing the whisk will be gone or sometimes your holding an invisible bowl. When I see this I instantly know and get frustrated 😂😂

Yeah it's always happened for me on PS5 that no matter what tool I select it switches to what it wants first. It makes switching between them quickly to catch bugs that come from mining nodes and such.

You need to have a Palia.com account linked to your switch game, if you did it when you started then you're good to go
If you skipped it then you need to create one by scanning the qr code the game gives you in the support option on the main menu

That happens to me on ps5 periodically. It’s like it lags out the x button. If I just fail a few times, I can usually get it going again in time to make the dish.

It happens more, and more extremely, if I have visited my ranch. That version seems to make it stop accepting x as input at all once I start chopping. It’s happened enough that if I go to the ranch, I leave my plot and come back before cooking OR gardening (for gardening, it’s mostly applying fertilizer that breaks, for cooking it is chopping)

I have it on switch 2 and on ps5, my husband played it on steam deck. The switch version was our least favorite, a lot more “ghosts” running round where the switch didn’t have the processing power to animate outfits etc. Hunting and fishing was awkward for me with regular controller, a little better with pro controller. Hello! Is it just me or does Switch not accept clicks on the "add friends" button and on the three dots in a friend's menu to remove them? I select it with the stick so it's highlighted, then press A to select them as indicated on the screen.

Use the directional pad. For some reason, it doesn't properly recognize the stick when highlighting things in that regard. Found that out after losing my mind trying to figure it out. So, when interacting with the friends list n stuff, just use the directional pad and you might also have to double tap A. Mine sticks sometimes.

You could try stacking them? Like stack them from the outside and try to move them upward. Idk if they will let you without some resistance lol

You can do it this way, by group selecting from a crate, works best without obstacles but you can try
If the beam still does not allow you, you may need to use cancel-placement to temporarily remove the top ones once you place them outside

As a switch player i found that the USB port that is between the HDMI and Power ports, one could use a keyboard has an USB plug works. also if you can get a USB hub so you can use a mouse and keyboard, that may work but not sure if that is possible.

There isn’t a quit game option for Xbox. I just go through the dashboard and close out that way. The game doesn’t seem to like it when you just turn the Xbox off with the game running.

I see people who play on PC can hold something and jump up with it to place it higher.

Hold ZL and A this should help you hold it and jump. Just be careful, your character can get in the way and cause it to say "something is in the way".

Starred dishes are valuable. Unstarred ones are usually used for quests because ppl don't want to use starred anything for stuff like that. I am one said person. All starred things are to be used for my plots. Only Hassi-hubby and Tau get starred stuff from me no starred stuff for anyone else

Yes, I agree with you. It does seem to have gotten worse. That said, my point stands. Still some people can't afford to spend $$ on something else. Therefore, we're (or at least I'm) trying to make the best of it and seeing if others are experiencing the same issue. Generally if they're not, I can possibly tweak something on my end to help. If others are seeing the same, I get over it and enjoy playing Palia anyway. It can be frustrating, but I still get a lot out of it. I don't think I'm alone there. So I make the best of it and am really just glad I can play at all. Switch is the only way that's happening for me. Until such time that I'm able to afford to upgrade, that is 🙂
All that to say, no ones arguing that switch play is really rough. You all are 100% correct. I'm fairly sure that any switch player would upgrade immediately if that was a viable option. It feels sorta condescending to say that the answer to our problems is to get a better system. Chances are really good that we know and are trying to make the best of what we have to work with. For those of you lucky enough to play on something that handles palia better, I really am sincerely happy for you. (Also, why would you need to peruse the console channel?) I'm just asking in general that they please be a bit more considerate to the rest of us.

Hi Palians! I have a huge problem with something important that I only just found out about, and it’s been bothering me a lot. First of all, I’m looking for the right channel where I can reach out about this issue, or a moderator who could help me and point me in the right direction, or tell me if anything at all can be done..
I’m not a full-time gamer. My friend recommended Palia to me because she knew I might like this kind of game. I turned on my boyfriend’s Xbox and started playing, and I immediately fell in love with it. But as a first-time Palian and someone who only occasionally uses a gaming console, I didn’t know that I needed to create a Palia account right away. I simply had no idea. English isn’t my first language, and usually when I saw this kind of pop-up in other games, you could always come back to it later. So I pressed “Skip.” As is usually the case with new games, I was overwhelmed by the amount of information thrown at me right at the beginning, and I didn’t know whether all of it was that important.
I absolutely love Palia. I play with my friends and I’m having such a great time. I’m really thankful to the developers for making it free to play. But when I later found out that I will never again be able to invite any friends (and I already have at least 3 people who want to join because they see how much I enjoy the game), or receive any Twitch drops or rewards that I missed before the first login… well, “I’m upset” is an understatement.
Everywhere I read that it will never be possible to link these accounts and that I’m forever stuck in Xbox purgatory… Is there ANYTHING that can be done about this? Please, I’m asking for any help or more info about this issue…

As a side note, this isn't exactly correct as you can't go to palia.com and create an account to link it, the link has to happen from within the console menu ticket option, or, a ticket directly to player support. A pre-existing palia.com account cannot be linked by the player, only player support can link pre-existing palia.com accounts to local saves.

That's why the instructions for upgrading the account require a new email address that has never been a palia.com account before.

Last week, I went to check Hiudschefai's Prontera, which is about 9.5k, it struggled a bit at some points but endured mightily
However, recently it seems that they did something to the memory management because I was able to load and stay for about 10 min (before it crashed) in Octo's plot which is waaaay over that
That reminds me to visit Prontera again to check if there's a noticeable difference

Sadly, this is just the normal switch experience. You can absolutely log into your Palia account on any device Palia can be played on.

I totally get that. What you described, so many switch players encounters. It intermittently gets better every now and then but to be honest, the switch hardware just cannot cope with Palia. If you can play on a PC, I would def recommend this route.

If you need help knowing if your PC is up to spec, let me know, I can send over a link to help out.

There's a super helpful website that you can open on your laptop and it will let you know if it can run Palia or not! No fussing required, it makes it quite easy to see!

The limit for Switch I would say is about 2k. Anything after that, will crash your game UNLESS you have a really good internet connection. For ps5, it should be able to handle the graphics pretty well, it's moreso the internet you have.

I primarily play Palia on my steam deck as I don’t own a PC, one thing I find quite annoying and tedious is getting the chat access, I don’t normally use the chat function but occasionally when playing with other people I like to hop on and say thanks but it gets tedious, and sometimes doesn’t open. The other day when trying to open the chat it froze on me and crashed my whole steam deck, made it restart and kicked me out of the server I was in and it basically made me look like a jerk as I wasn’t able to reply to the other players.

Is there a way to 1. Move the chat from the bottom of the screen to the top. 2. A quicker way to get the chat open instead of having to press to open the chat then steam + x to open the keyboard, then press enter to chat - because sometimes I get to this point and it chat still does not open and won’t let me chat

You can key bind! I use steam deck. There are some tutorials on YouTube, seeing as the update is happening I can’t check what I did but if I remember correctly.

If you go to settings and go all the way across to the last tab, then switch it to the controller tab it will show you a bunch of different things that are assigned/or can be assigned to buttons, if you scroll down you’ll come to ‘chat’, if you press on that you can assign a button

Unfortunately you can’t assign a back button so I usually assign the R3 button — it’s normally used for editing your plot and picking up and moving items. You can always revert to the old layout by pressing ‘Y’. I constantly switch depending on what I’m doing.

Now for the keyboard! That one’s a lot easier! When the game is loaded up press the ‘Steam’ button and it should bring up a different pause menu -> controller settings -> then it should show you the layout, from there you can assign the keyboard to one of the back buttons, you can also assign the server/party/community switch to a back button.

I’m terrible at explaining but I hope this helps a little

The lag on PS5 is horrendous. I was trying to fish in Elderwoods earlier and literally everything was jumping every few seconds. I want to play so bad and I get maybe an hr or so of good play, then my screen starts jumping. It's not anything to do with my connection as other games work fine. If you want to be able to cook every recipe in the game solo, then yes. But they don't need to be out all at once. You only generally only need the second station for recipes that start on that station. Chili oil dumplings start on the stove, so only needs a second stove. Petit fives start on the prep station, so needs a second prep station.

Yes, I found out happens because some of the button mapping and sometimes with no reason. For example, if I open my inventory but happen to be standing in a way that I could trigger something inside the house with the same button then I’ll get stuck. The bulletin board also sometimes bugs but I don’t know why.

@willow_87402 I been getting this alot lately but also if you noticed the lag in the game they not updated our Dock for the TV a 8 months ago they fixed it

SWITCH DOCKING STATION NEED UPDATING FOR THE SWITCH, To everyone who using the switch I noticed there been a lot of lag can't control character the character runs all over the place either though you using the controllers, I updated the Dock on my side and controller but this is still happening the Docking Station Software for the game needs updating my Palia this has happened last year, I am a Nintendo switch user and I struggling to play the game, with the console docked or not, I do spend real money in the game the game play is not great, I also noticed I am being switched over to other servers.

I want to know why I am being asked to switch servers all the time, can I say I think this may be that they might switch use Nintendo switch players over to switch server not sure just a thought.

That seems to be part of the most recent game update, they've made some changes to have fuller servers and to merge smaller ones to reduce the load on their systems.

I am so frustrated. The lag has made the game completely unplayable on Switch for me. I've done every single tip to help it run smoother and it hasn't made a difference. I can't even count the amount of ruined dishes I made while trying to complete the bulletin board because of the constant stuttering. I've spent well over $200 in this game since Switch launch because I LOVE Palia and want to support the devs as much as I can, but it's impossible to play now since the update. 😥

Do you have daily tasks pinned? If so, try unpinning these.

I've made sure nothing is pinned, I play while docked or plugged to a power source, left community, made sure switch and dock are up to date. I even deleted my friend list to see if that would help and nothing.

Some console players have also tried reinstalling the game, and/or, changing where the game is stored (system storage vs SD card). Those may be potential items for you to try, regardless, it sounds like a player support ticket is probably worth submitting since you've tried many of the known player-side workarounds and have not gotten relief yet

This happened to me yesterday. Also had the stuttering when I played. I’ve never had that before on ps5. I caught 5 striped dace even a starred one and it wouldn’t register for my daily. Are you still having the issue?

If your daily tasks are pinned, this can cause stuttering. Unpinning the daily tasks will resolve this.

If the item is brand new, and still doesn't register, restart your game.

I did both of these things last night before giving up because it was not solving the issue. I haven’t tried getting on again today yet.

If you haven't fully shut down your PS5 in a while, also do this. Sometimes fully shutting down and fully restarting can help some console issues.

I had to go through a whole list of silliness to correct it and at risk of being reprimanded by the Community Moderators I'll just say if it doesn't work at first relog and reattempt ad nauseum until it does. Time consuming, unenjoyable, and frustrating beyond belief but it will finally work.

You need to hold the button until it reaches the indicated circle, not just tap it. I obviously can't know if that's what you're doing, but it's a common issue.

The villagers weekly wants have been moved to the bulletin board with the recent update. You should be able to go to the bulletin board and switch to the weeklies tab and there should be a button that says something along the lines of “discover.”

As I stated previously, weekly wants are at the bulletin board in Kilima Village. Go to the board and switch over to the weeklies tab and press discover. It’ll automatically switch over to the relationships tab and all weekly wants will be revealed. You don’t need to talk to villagers to ask their weekly wants anymore
