The only workaround is to create a new Xbox account for your Palia game, but that may not be desired.

disclaimer: i have no idea if this will work, but you could try creating a profile on your xbox and logging in there? that would probably mean it wouldn’t be tied to your current profile though, so yeah… support is the only way to unlink the account right now.

That's just it. They didn't always own minecraft, it was acquired. Game devs put in the option to block users people found offensive. Having to instill further censorship is just ridiculous. Besides anything that has online multiplayer clearly states "online content not rated by "ESRB" so chat shouldn't be regulated by the game but rather the user. Enable the chat content filter option on xbox JUST LIKE ON THE PC. That simple. Stop blocking chat from non offensive language

It's definitely not just you. I tried all sorts of things to get better gameplay and it's not us. It's the game in general. I have all my settings set to open and everyone and allow because of other stuff I play. I get the message and just keep hitting play until I get back in. For now it's the only way I can play. I'm not even trying to do quests. I'm going for materials and such for now.

Not to jinx it, but I will say that since this most recent update I've only experienced a server crash on the switch once, and it was while going into the Elderwoods. Before that, it was almost predictably every five minutes

It was very bad. For the last few months, since just before the Elderwoods update, it was impossible to avoid crashes. I couldn't cook food, join grove chops, fish, catch bugs, or anything that would reliably take longer than two to five minutes to go and complete, or else all progress would be lost. I've put off the main quest for so long, as every time I would run to the Temple of the Gales, I'd be kicked from the server and sent back to Bahari Central Stables, just to try and run back again.

Fingers crossed this fix for the Switch sticks, I do not want those days to return 😓

I used to play on Nintendo and then I switched to Xbox. Yesterday, out of curiosity, I went to play on Switch, and my god... they look so much worse. It wasn't like this before, the graphics were actually decent before, the Bahari rivers had blue water for example... I don't know what happened in this last patch, but I found everything very blurry, I feel sorry for Switch players who have no other option to play Palia. I played on Switch for a year, it was so beautiful, the graphics were simple, without the foliage, but the larger details were clear.

Just sayin’… I hear and respect the complaints of Switchers posting in this thread, and I truly hope that all your concerns will be successfully addressed, and soon.

But I’d like the devs to know that not all of us Switchers are experiencing difficulties.

I regularly play on Switch 1, and the game has been running pretty smoothly for me ever since the devs worked out the whole “community membership connected to terrible gameplay” glitch.

I also play the game on PC from time to time, and, while Palia looks beautiful on the PC, I’m actually happier with the gameplay on Switch. Why? Because, imho, the PC-enhanced graphic details just don’t balance out against the ease and portability of the Switch. I can’t take my PC to bed with me 😄

Besides, not all graphics in Palia look better on a PC. Yes, there are tons more flowers and foliage, which is very happy-making, but some of the creatures, insects in particular, look better on the Switch. The common blue butterfly and the Kilima night moth, for instance, actually flap their wings and fly on the Switch, but on the PC they appear to simply float with their wings folded. The crabs skooch along more realistically on the Switch instead of gliding in a straight line as they do on my PC. And on the Switch, the water pools throughout Palia (and there are so many lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, waterfalls, etc.) look very deep, clear, and shiny, whereas on the PC, the water💧 just doesn’t shimmer and move as much.

Now, I give the PC props for being better at visualizing Palia’s darker nights and brighter days, whereas the Switch doesn’t differentiate much between the two; the sky is always relatively light, at least on the default home plot.

Regardless of their differences in graphics, both platforms have delivered quality gameplay for me in the past few weeks. Super pleased.

Just thought the devs might appreciate hearing random thoughts from a happy console player. 🤗

I had this happen on PC a couple times, I think your partner has to kick you from the party and then reinvite you. It might take a couple tries. At least that’s what I remember doing when it happened to my husband and I, but it’s been quite a while since he played so I may be misremembering

I can personally confirm that Portal 2 no longer crashes after updating.

For me, it seems that crashing doesn't reverse any kind of progress as long as you aren't doing anything the moment it happens.

I think a Switch 2 version of Palia would better utilize the hardware and maybe prevent crashes.

I was also constantly being kicked off servers while playing on Xbox. I decided to investigate my connection and router settings. I discovered something wasn't right with my router. I talked to my internet provider and got them to configure my router correctly. IPv6 was available but not active. I also switched to playing with a wired LAN Ethernet connection and haven't had any problems since.

I know that on Switch 2 you can play docked with a wired connection, but on Switch 1 you'd need an adapter for that. So I left this as a suggestion for you to try this and see if the connection to the game becomes more stable.

I’m on PS5, and when I open my crafting table my recipes are all over the place, they’re doubled, and half of them are missing? Some stirring/mixing/stove actions have a circle with a dot placed randomly around the circle and you need to press and hold X and let it go on the dot. Some stirring actions you just gotta press and hold X.

uhhh like off the top of my head, mixing like frosting or cake batter I believe is just press X to sir, whereas if you’re on the stove to flip something, it’ll show a circle. Lemme try to find a screenie

Press and hold X so the blue dot moves & then let go on the white dot. Otherwise if no prompt like that shows up, it’s just press and hold X to stir until the blue fills up the inside of the bowl.

I apologize I am not good at explaining, im more of a “I can show you” but thats kinda hard to do so I hope that makes sense 😂

This is the other stirring action, the middle of the bowl will fill blue while you hold X until it’s done.

IPv6 is the most recent verison of the Internet Protocol that routes traffic on the Internet. I only ask because someone else playing on the Xbox posted in #💻│tech-help saying their router was still using IPv4 which became obsolete in 2017. Switching to IPv6 solved their connection problems.

I sometimes get random French words censored the very few times I play with friends in French cause it's too close in spelling to English bad words. best bet would be to just block all the people that are being toxic to others, the game will try it's best to not put you into the same server as others. use to do this with animal crossing for the 3ds with the multiplayer islands. would be out there trying to get the big price bugs from the palm trees as those islands were set to always be summer then would have jerks come to the island and either hound you for money because we (my mom and i) played constantly and had a ton, or they would run around and scare the bugs that you were trying to catch, chop down all of the trees, set up an island tour game which meant that you couldn't leave the island without losing everything you did while you were there or just annoy you by hitting you with nets.

I'm pretty sure your best bet would be to party up with a group that has the other relics leveled up. I see them offering spots all the time for using honey lures, hunting, etc. Imo, that's the quickest. If determined to go solo, I've been told that harvesting the infected trees is best.

@vale oak are you putting 1 fertilizer square per day needed to go from planted to harvest? IE: apples take 9 days from planting to first harvest so you put down 81 fertilizers to get the boost. Click on the center square of an apple plot after you plant the seed. You will see that it puts 9 fertilizer down. That equals 1 day growing. Single square crops are easy - Cotton takes 5 days (I think) so click the seed 5 times and your good. 4 apple trees take a total of 9x9x4=324! Also, you can't stack different types of fertilizer....

I hate when people are rude about it. It’s a general courtesy in game that we wait at the grove until 3 am so anyone trying to get there can. When getting to the grove you hit each flow tree once with your axe to make sure you’ll get the drop and then wait til 3. A lot of times players with drop a honey lure during the wait because a rare bug always spawns with the grove.

The game runs on Switch 2 like it did on the original Switch before things went downhill. Basically how it was on the Switch when they initially supported the console. I’m able to play again, I can see things, very little if any lag, I can join parties, even busy plots are loading with no issues. Prior to getting a Switch 2, I hadn’t been able to play for almost a year due to the bugs/issues.

exactly what avery said. hunting (for me at least) is easier, the muujins don't scatter to the far side of the map when they come out of the trees. there is a little stuttering in the windmills of kilima but that's not a big issue. the only issue i've encountered is that Elderwoods will sometimes crash while in there. one day i crashed 7 times but only in ew. as far as a s2 version of the game, wouldn't expect it until late this year or sometime next year for an announcement of it. i mean, we don't even know if s6 was lucky enough to get a dev kit from nintendo

hi all. I haven't checked in here in a while, so my question may have been addressed, apologies in advance if repeats have to happen. Pretty much since getting my switch2 and the xbox and ps5 were introduced, almost every single avatar for other players is a ghost image! Used to be, when they first did this to help with switch player render/load times (I think that's why they did it.... been so long now), it was a few avatars, in the distance, and they would render in when you were close to them. Now, it is almost everyone and those that are ghosties never render in so I can see them - including my friends when I am doing things like fishing, etc. with them. It's annoying to not see fits, emotes and all that jazz. Anyone else been having this issue? I sent a ticket and the support reply was to do the usual clearing/delete/reinstall stuff, but it is a brand new device with a brand new install, these solutions are not relevant.
Clearly, this is not a critical thing, it is an annoyance and a kill-joy during playing. But I just wonder if devs did this on purpose, "turning up the volume" so to speak, on the ghost images appearing instead of fully rendering in. If anyone has info, or experiences this, I'd love to know. If it is just me, I gotta wonder what the heck is going on..... I want to reply to the support email with more info

I sometimes get this on Switch 2, but most commonly in Maji Market. Other busy areas might be a couple of people but no big deal for me (Switch 1 was every player). If Palia is on your SD card, you can move it to your hard drive. When I set up my Switch 2, it automatically put everything on the SD card for some reason, despite it being on my Switch 1 hard drive. I’m assuming your wifi signal and speed are good.

I play docked all the time and also on ethernet, not wifi. I don't even have an sd card for my switch2 (I did for my switch, but kept Palia on internal, it wouldn't play properly at all on sd - thx for mentioning this, I will include it in my reply to support

I've been trying to ask for help and my messages aren't sending, nor am I seeing any of the messages others are putting that PC friends in the same server are seeing.

It is affecting everything I'm needing to do and I use to love making friends in this game, but since this new update, I can't talk to anyone in the game and I can't see anything in the chat. It's been like this for weeks

Streamer mode, which i didn't even know was a setting and isnt clearly shown as a setting in settings is on default and my console has always been synced to the time and date, the time and date is correct.

There is a known issue with Xbox's and it censoring messages. MS has one of the strict filters I've seen. Sadly there is no permanent fix and you can't turn it completely off. It even applies to Final Fantasy XIV quest text.

@boreal finch there was an old bug that affected the chat. Try changing that option to streamer mode on and then change it back to default and see if that helps. That used to be the fix.

A quick tip for Switch players: join the market server shortly before the balloons start. You'll be on a quieter server, meaning there's less "stuff" for the hardware to handle. This might alleviate some of your frustration with the market.
(I know how it is, I was in that boat for a year, and I know it's annoying.)

Steam Deck user here, I've been able to sprint on the default controls (Y while walking to sprint, Y+ pressing down on the right thumbstick enables auto run iirc), but with chat I think you have to either use an external keyboard or bring up keyboard with Steam key + x, hit enter, bring up the keyboard again and then you should be able to type into chat (unless you're using an external controller, in which case rebinding keys in in Steam menu is likely required).

The chat (and how tedious it is to bring up the keyboard at times) is why I don't use chat often on the deck ^^;

Then when I start Palia again I get 2 errors that I cant join the server.

Until last month, I was also constantly being kicked from servers while playing on Xbox. I decided to investigate my connection and router settings and discovered something wasn't right with my router. I spoke to my internet provider and got them to configure my router correctly. IPv6 was available but not active. I also switched to playing with an Ethernet LAN connection and haven't had any problems since.

I suggest that Xbox players check their internet connection and, if possible, use an Ethernet LAN connection; the speed and stability are much better.

Could you please explain what was wrong with your router? And what has IPv6 to do with being kicked? IPv6 is just a longer IP address not even sure Palia Uses this

IPV6 is NOT just a longer IP address. It is a complete re-architecture from what we use today.

If you have a IPV6 address direct from your ISP or a "tunnel service," consider yourself lucky. You are ahead of 90% of the world.

IPv6 won't actually affect gameplay, but I noticed better connection stability; it might just be my personal impression. It's always worth checking that your router is working properly and that the connection you've purchased from your provider is reaching you correctly. And using an Ethernet LAN connection is the key.
I know that on Switch 2 you can play on the dock with a wired connection, but on Switch 1 you'd need an adapter for that.

There's a difference between "getting kicked" and "crashing"

• "Getting kicked" happens when there's a connection issue between the game client and server, which results in you being sent back to the character or login screen. The game itself didn't close.
• "Crashing" happens when the game forcibly closes itself and an error screen appears, which means the game has to be launched again.

yeah, for my PSN, you have to use the QR code on support link to link your PSN to palia. I don't know why they don't just use the same method they use for steam and twitch

Heads up for those complaining about typing… You can connet a USB keyboard to your console and type with that! Not totally sure if this works for PS/Xbox, but plugging one into my Switch dock is a lifesaver! To use it, just open the Chat menu as normal, but instead of using the onscreen keyboard, just type it out. I have yet to try this using the top USB slot on the Switch 2 iteslf, but it is great for TV mode at least!

And in regards to a Switch 2 Edition, I contacted support about the possibility of one and what that might entail—I’ll report back here as soon as they respond!

For those wondering about keyboards from console - I bought mine from the cheap overnight website, it’s no longer for sale but others are (I’m not sure links are allowed). I just bought a cheap one to try, it was less than £15 and came with a little dongle that plugs into the console, the listing never said anything specific about compatibility, I just took a risk and it worked!
