Best way to level fishing is to catch the fish at full rod health and as always keep your focus up

Mining is like only considerably more exp from palium i think so itd really just be mining a lot with focus up

I can't see a dedicated inventory menu page. When I go to a chest or try to equip from the inventory at the bottom of the UI, it only gives the option to cancel (or put away)

Is there an in game way to know fish rarity? I found the online charts so I know how to look it up, but is there text or a visual indicator in game that I've missed? I'm early on and doing a catch 5 uncommon fish and tired of looking them all up to figure out which I'll need to keep amongst everything I'm catching.

If youre gonna catch every fish i reccomend fishing for sushi recipe at home where you csn easily dump inventory and maybe even fix your rod at the anvil to save time going back and forth

Other ponds id reccomend recasting instead to save resources

Every biome has very close to the same amount of common uncommon rare etc

You should be able to fish anywhere that isnt shallow water

The rarity types have similar prices and since the rarirty types are balanced there isn't really a preferred method other then maybe doing hotspots / bubbling water since it will be higher quality fish which sell for more then regular quality (same types of fish but different quality)

Theres also some higher value fish with higher value bait

But you have to level before getting worms and then glow worms

You don't hook the fish unless it's what you need, wait until it leaves, then recast. This way you won't use up worms.

and gardening has a well that actually functions to refill your watering can
you get more of the currency via leveling too so there's some reasons people might want to grind

While they're just on the line, you reel in while keeping the reticle around them. The reticle is green and if they're outside it, it's red.

When they jump it turns yellow and makes a noise, and you stop reeling, but still have to keep the reticle on them. Then when it goes back to green, you start reeling again

fishing in nodes for starred fish is a little messy rn. Sometimes you get slapped out of it and lose the fish. Leave the rod in that spot if the fish jump off do NOT recast. The same fish will come back.

so here are some observations i made this week. When I go fishing, if I pull a chest I almost never pull a fish above uncommon, but instead pull 3-4 chests in their place. On days when I never pull a chest,I get at least one hit strike from every fish.

I discovered this after having given up on the unicorn but still fishing in it's area in case it shows up.

in 7 days I never saw one, but that day I pulled no chests I hooked 3. 3 unicron fish in under 12 game hours.

I also have to say all 3, were from star pools and I have never hooked a non star unicorn.

then I noticed that every other in game day I seem to pull chests, and the next day rare fish. Can anyone confirm this at the moment?

since I usually rotate fishing and gardening I know why I never saw it before.

That's incorrect. There's no limit to how many fish are in each body of water per day. It's all RNG, unicorn fish is rare and only caught during the Day so it doesnt show up often

The most valuable easy to catch fish is going to be ⭐ common fish caught using glow worms. Fish of using the same bait type and of the same rarity are all going to have similar selling prices.

For some reason the black sea bass and yellow fin tuna sell for 5 more gold than the other common glow worm fish. They can be caught on the Bahari Bay coast.

you mean to go from using worms to fishing without bait? if so, equip the fishing rod, then press x button. it should bring up a little pop up in the middle of the screen that shows you a hook and the worms that you have. move over to the hook and press the a button to move to having no bait

You can avoid using up your bait by waiting till the fish swims away and then reeling in to avoid the catch, you also dont need to worry about missing the rare fish as if you dont reel it will always be the same fish every time

Better to use health booster or safe zone booster? Too many fish are getting away because they won't settle for more than a second. Even using the method to stop reeling when out of green, I cant catch some of these.

You can stack boosters and use both. Safe zone increases the ( ) size while health booster helps the bar at the bottom. There's also a few other items that can be used to help with fishing. There's one that lets you move the safe zone faster

might work to not catch any fish except the one youre aiming for. so you cast the rod, wait for the fish to bite so you can see which fish it is. if its the one you need, catch it. otherwise, wait for it to leave and then pull the rod back. I know this saves on bait, not sure about rod or booster durability

Have you tried recasting? You can see the fish that is in your bobber/line. If you don’t want it, just wait for the fish to go away and then recast your line to save on worms. That’s how I got mine you can try that.

Don’t reel the fish in. Once it’s gone, then reel your bobber/line back in and you don’t waste worms. It takes a few tries to get it.

if you're specifically looking for palium the optimal way to go about it would be to check the map far and wide breaking iron as much as possible and ignoring rocks so the rocks don't interfere with the competition for spawning

break palium quickly the quicker itll spawn again, so if you're sharing try not to wait for like 10+ minutes

As I was levelling up, I noticed some started appearing more often - so likely a combination of time, location, bait, and skill level plus that ratio vs rarity randomness

I’d imagine the better rod + bait would allow you to catch more kinds

Wasn't sure if anyone knew this or not. It seems you can finish the Basic Collection along with the Quality Collection, just focus only the Qualities. I got the other day by accidently completing the Master Kilima and Bahari Fish Collector without realizing what fish I had left for both lists, The Freshwater Eel. 🤣

90 Renown went into the Void however.

Yep, indeed you can. I rarely fish normally now. Swirly Pools only that way I get tanks - and both achievements rofl

I didn't notice it at first. It only gave the overhead prompt message for just the masters. Noticed I had the second plaque when I went to hang the Masters one.

I think I first noticed it when my first catch of something was a starred and I saw the regular was filled as well.
