Thankfully my ghosted rooms spots I should have easy decor workarounds for, not the end of the world and may cause me to even save myself on some item space 🤷 😂 I haven't gotten in game yet but I'm not looking forward to it. I feel so bad for the people whose room ghosting are super integral to their build. Mine is just a 3 bay window wall to the back of my plot, and then a wall to create an opening for my workshop. Which for the 3 window wall I can just have 1 normally and decorate around it, and for the workshop I could just toss a porch or door with steps. Maybe even just a window. On the front, just not the pretty open room but I will live 🤷

You buy a new plot, the new plot has all the trees and rocks. You choose what you get rid off. You have to clean your plot if you want to build, like we had to at the start of the game. Just do that for every plot

as a speedrunner, i have to say that S6 is above and beyond friendly to glitching. while i would prefer they make these decor glitches an actual feature, decor glitching methods would have been patched out ages ago in the hands of many many many other devs.

Yes and no, since housing is their endgame, they failed miserably and fixing their glitches would just make it worse.
So yes good on them acknowledging that their housing is horrible, bad on not fixing it since 2 years and basically expecting players to use bugs

while i'm inclined to agree on a specific level, there's plenty of cases where bugs are embraced by developers and just let to stay in because they're fun. so long as they fix actually harmful bugs which would cause damage to the game, it's not a bad thing to keep harmless ones in if it's fun.

they admitted the system was difficult to work with, which is a big deal when it comes to any game developer with a major system with delicate, easily broken, moving parts like palia's housing system. in my years of programming, what may seem like something simple and can be worked on within months can take years when you have a lot of other priorities going on with a now-smaller team (lots of layoffs at S6 since). from the outside looking in, we know what doesn't feel good, but don't know what extent a system has to be reworked to feel good.

even a camera for a few seconds in a cutscene can take weeks to get right!

i agree that the foundations they set suck, and they needed to do better from the start. they didn't, they decided to keep building, and now they have a ton of tech debt.

external mods/cheats do a lot of things! but i'm talking an entire system that also needs to play nice with networking, hot-swappable instances, storage systems, data transfer systems, multiplayer, etc. for all players. on a small scale, it's great, but on a bigger scale, it can also put tons of internal strain on something else that damages something else's integrity. we all know at this point that S6 kicks out the proverbial "load bearing potato pod" every update. |:U hell, i don't even like the decisions they made with network architecture. what they have here is tenuously held together with waterlogged packing tape and prayers half the time because they chose to use the most annoying code architecture possible which not many devs are versed in and therefore limits their potential employment prospects.

the good news is, that if they're reworking on this system, palia must be succeeding enough for them to be able to refactor such a big commitment of time/labour resources. they know they've royally screwed the pooch on doing right by the players (finally), and (albeit late) working towards resolutions. they're a long way off from earning anyone's trust back after the years, so i don't expect everyone to be all "oh they're doing good now!" because neither am i. i do not think they're competent developers; i made it clear to them in feedback AND support tickets countless times. all i've been saying is that they have been way fairer about glitches that do good for the players, and because of that, i have slightly more optimism than i'd give most developers.

That Palia's choice of using the default unreal game server ducttaping it with a rust backend and praying didn't work quite well isn't really a surprise. (tbf. the rust backend does its job quiet well)

but look at the thing we have: players abusing glitches to bypass that check
what you can have quite fast: players pressing 1 button to bypass that check

I am not talking about a whole rework, ofc we need that, but if you have players bypassing your check anyways, why not give all players the possibility to do that.

Sure one could say it needs more testing and so on, but that doesnt change the fact, that players are using it, will be upset if it doesnt work anymore and they will have to account for looks at notes "creative use of game mechanics" anyways - since they said "hey thats cool, we accept that you do that".

Pick up the bathtub and move it on the ground (do not place it) and when it's on the ground, you press 1 (pull out an item from your inventory). The item can be random one, as long as it's placeable, but you actually don't need to place the pulled out item, just press Esc.

Basically I cant walk up onto the builder bridge pieces anymore, I have to jump onto them and one of the pieces (the ramp?) could attach under the ground so I could walk up onto the other pieces but now it won't attach. Idk if that makes any sense 😭

Not terribly. One building isn't accessible. Another building lost it's outdoor terrace. Otherwise, it's relatively fine.

You just have to reload It's a temporary solution tho, if you ever change between plot you'll have to do it again every time...

It's so weird coming to my empty plot and see decor limit 2/3500 instead of ~1020, I would never know for sure how many trees I planted was about to clean my main plot to redecorate from scratch just so I could have this count right.
Otoh I can now have a plot only for flowers and flow trees and growable items

im having the same issues- hopefully their plot fixes resolve it- if not sounds like im taking a long break again lol.... these bugs have been in game since before the storage update and now wiiiith the decor issues making it worse, i think.
