Do we have any information more concrete than vibes about how the fishing loot table works? One simple idea would be when you fish you're given odds for common, uncommon, rare, and epic fish. So, given as decimals in order A+B+C+D = 1 with A>B>C>D. In that case if there are 2 common fish (e.g. glowworm in mine) your odds of catching a blobfish are A/2. The mine is the easiest example. What if there is no rare fish (e.g. lake with glowworms)? This is all speculation of course.

At some point I wanted to not fish the lake at night because, otherwise, I could catch both the ray and the ancient fish. Now I'm wondering if night is actually better if you're specifically trying to get the ancient fish. I'm also wondering if the absence of a rare fish effectively boosts the epic fish chance. Not that it would all add to the epic chance, but that a small fraction of it would. Then the swordfin eel (day/night) would be a little more common than the void ray. My understanding has been that the odds for epics is ~ 2%, but it seems like that isn't really detailed enough.

It's about odds. The wording from the wiki is Each square will consume 1 fertilizer per growth cycle. In order to achieve full benefit of fertilizer, it needs to be consumed every day. E.g. fertilizing a potato (5 day crop) only 4 times with harvest boost fertilizer will give 4/5 chance of getting bonus yield.

yeah, ive been using the quality fertilizer since i unlocked worm farms and i was confused as to why i wasnt getting fully starred crops, but i guess that makes more sense

i kinda wish fertilizer was just rarer/more expensive to craft/buy instead of having it be like that

if it's the one I think it is, a lot of people have trouble with it.. there's a couple pinned messages in #quest-help that may help, you might have to try it a few times but basically try climbing the edge instead of straight on

Unfortunately the best thing I’ve been able to do is type /unstuck whenever a recipe freezes (although you should make sure you have two of every cooking station before you start making something, that’s something that wasn’t ever explained iirc.)

My understanding of those trackers is that the creators have to update them manually. Until they're updated you'll have to rely on the in game tracker.

They will be able to see which ones if any you are missing and if you're not missing any they will send you the reward. But as far as the achievement being checked off, that's still bugged and we are waiting for a fix for that part. I submitted a ticket and this was what I was told from Support:

"I've checked things out, and it seems like you've given all 10 Shiny Pebbles. Sadly, we're still facing some issues with the Pebbled Plunder achievement not ticking off properly. For now, I've added your report to our ongoing investigation."

"To make things right, I've sent you Einar's Adornment. You can claim it from your news tab in the game."

You should hopefully be alright!! Usually disconnecting from chat might indicate an internet issue or could be the game being a bit buggy, but relogging should usually help fix it. c:

The rocks blink and disappear a short while after someone else has mined it. They work kind of like forageables!! You might just be following someone who was mining there before you.

if this is on switch, it could be because your console's clock is not synced with the proper time and so its confusing the game. this usually happens with players who touch their switch's clock in order to do specific things in games like animal crossing

You can get a glass furnace from Tish's guild store, and then put stones in to melt them into glass

the reason i ask is because there used to be a lighting glitch for the fireplace if you were on the higher quality settings and the only way to fix it until the devs patched it, was to play on lower qualities. so it might be a similar issue

I see, kinda sad if the devs don't listen to the community, i mean they should just do a feature where you can drop items on the ground, don't even need to modelize each items, just one little cardboard box model for all items, and allow other players to collect it

devs listen to feedback all the time imo but you just never know what will or won't be a thing
everything we feedbacked about the Chapaa Chase minigame they pretty much actually did after a couple tweaks which was nice
and we've also been asking for map grids for a while, and that's coming
and being able to put stuff on the fireplace was added, which was heavily requested 🤔 stuff like that

all there is to it is to keep sending the feedback so it's easy to see how demanded something is and hope for the best

oh and tree dirt, we all said we hated tree dirt and then they were like yeah okay and said it was planned for removal

Hi all, do you know why I can't get Delaila to tell me what gifts she wants? I have talked with all NPCs and she doesn't have the gift button. Same for Hassian. I'm lvl 3 with both

It's possible one of the family members will tell you instead, but sometimes it feels inconsistent with the option being there or not being there
When in doubt you can check the wiki or paliatracker for what it is and just give it regardless

How do I keep the event that I created on paliapp opened when it’s closed?

So I had this problem a LOT before the most recent patch, BUT! They added a new keybind! Now there is a separate one for the cooking stations (and also the workbench, because I guess it's the same base system). It's still F by default, but I was able to change it to a different key (I chose "C" for "cook" but also apparently for "Craft" and "Collect" lmao)

I keep having an issue while fishing or cooking where I cast the fishing line, or get ready to chop something, and then I can't perform the action. I click the mouse and nothing happens, I can't even escape out of it. The only way I found to fix it is to force-close the entire game.

afaik the lights are just the regular default interaction key, same as most other things (buy stuff, open shops, pick up loot/gatherables). The one I changed was kinda way down the list in a section about cooking iirc

You're not alone Most of us use a team of ppl whether it be friends or just joining in with a group that's already out there hunting them. One will typically chop, the 2nd will hit with dispel, and 3rd with slowdown arrows for example. It makes it much easier imo.

Then the person who was chopping will change over to one of the above arrows to help out.

For me, they are one of the more common rare-quality bugs. I can generally find one within ten minutes of going out and running around in Mirror Fields, as a conservative estimate. (Not too tough without a buzzy jar; trivial with one.)

i’ve given up on proudhorn hunting for the order plushie, i’ve used over 8k dispel arrows and definitely have hunted more than 100

and highly doubt i’ll get it from zekis machine cause i don’t have luck there ever 🤣

If it's any comfort, 100 attempts will give you the 1% chance thing at least once about two-thirds of the time, but there's about a one in three chance of 0 of them in 100 attempts. (A set of 230 attempts will get you the thing at least once 9 out of 10 times, but there's still that one-in-ten chance of nada...)

then again, depending on your shooting/chasing style, that might not be any comfort at all

Here's how I did it:

• open File Explorer
• paste %LOCALAPPDATA%/Palia/Saved/Screenshots into the location bar at the top, press enter
• it should take you to the corresponding folder
• if it doesn't, the folder may be hidden, in which case report back for more details
  (I've also heard that the Steam client saves them somewhere else, in which case someone else will have to answer you)

I can take screenshots with F12 so in my steam they are easy to find but all the rubbish is on it, and no way to hide the UI , HUD for taking clean pictures

Hi! Quick question for Switch players. I mainly play on PC but spend enough time playing on Switch that the drastically different control difficulty is starting to become a problem. I was wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks to try and get the best playability? I've been trying different sensitivity settings/aim settings but the movement (panning) is so jerky that I spend most of my time making tiny micro movements to line up a shot, or fighting for my life fishing. no need. whoever takes the role "starter" is the one who needs the recipe 🙂 the sequence is usually:

leafers
milk froster
fruit froster
batter
oven
spreader

you can't perform your role if certain ingredients are not yet done like the oven or spreader (since you need the batter or cakes) and the like. hope that helps!

ok then what you need to do is go to one of the trees in the valley and chop it with your axe. when you have chopped it down, you will get logs. you take the log to the sawmill and hit the interact button with the sawmill. the sawmill will then ask you what item you want to put in. you take the log you have and put it in and then with IRL time, the sawmill will make you planks for item crafting that you must collect after the IRL time

When using the sawmill, on the side it has open inventory, so you can see what you can make or already have, you can either drag sapwood to make planks or just press on it for how many you want to make. When they are done making they'll be under complete jobs and you can drag those to inventory

Yes, 100% chance, but ONLY after you've finished completely watering it, so after it's matured you'll still have the option to water it a few times, when you do finish watering it a prompt to "collect seed" will appear, you will not get a seed from chopping it down so be careful

Golden Glory appears every day when cutting down one of the white trees (I forgot the name of this tree) in front of Delaila's house. Of course you'll find cutting down trees randomly too, but those trees in front of Delaila's house are sure to find Golden at least once a day. Tip: use a smoke candle to get close to the Golden and shoot continuously so as not to give it a chance to change position.

I angle myself so that they run towards a long stretch of unobstructed land or pathway, then use slow arrows. I don’t run after them so that I can get as many shots as possible before they jump into a tree.

@supple olive another option you can try is take any of your star to fish bugs or food and put them around your plot either in your home plot or create a special plot just for those items to clear out your inventory

Before you do any cooking have a tool on you. I do the axe. So I’m always holding the axe in my hand while I cook

You can't skip the flip though. This is common enough that I have to ask if you know how it works.

To flip you hold down left click, let the bead rotate around the circle, and release left click when the bead is inside of the shaded circle.

For Switch it's whatever the analog is to that, but it's still holding a releasing.

Okey, I've tried to google, but can't really find a fix to this. I have a problem with my quest inventory.. In the quest with Sifuu and Hassain in one of the ruins/temple, I was so dumb and got a bunch of Sifuu's Torch, because I had not yet realized there was TWO seperate inventories.. Now my quest inventory is full of unused torches And the problem is that all new things I need now goes to storage because the inventory is full, and I can't deliver the new items.. I have no idea what to do, since the items can't be deleted..

having trouble with in game screen. It renders WHITE on my Win10 pc and BLACK on my Win11 laptop. Anyone else experiencing this? By in-game I mean when it loads into my plot. I get start up screens and loading screens just fine. just when it goes to my plot back ground is all white or black and can only see a few things like the upper left hand of the screen with my username, etc; the upper right hand screen with compass and in game time, as well as bottom left chat message and bottom right with single line of inventory, etc. I can access everything, but not able to play game as playing screen is either all white or black (which should have shown my character on my plot -- but not due to all white or black ground). Hope this makes sense. I've posted a pic of the white screen a little bit below for reference.

Is anyone having issues making "Palian onion soup"? I'm trying to make a starred one for a quest but when I start the ingredients, it shows me the starred onion but only able to chop the garlic? Which ruins the recipe because the onion is the starred veggie that it won't let me cut.

wild garlic is the only produce for onion soup? that means the only thing to be modified i believe

I swear there’s specific spots to get rare things. I was trying for unicorn fish out on that island in Bahari behind the lighthouse for days. Decided, to heck with it, cast my line off the uhhh… I literally can’t think of the name, it’s like a port deck? … DOCK, that’s it, and first cast = fish.

Also totally anecdotal, but the day of an update I notice a lot more rare things spawning. I always noticed lots of flow trees spawning the day of an update, but now that I was actually trying to get things for bundles today, I caught a void ray after less than ten casts, and the first bug my buzzy jar picked up was a rainbow tipped butterfly (and it subsequently picked up a starred one.) Like I said, anecdotal so ymmv, but I got nearly everything I was missing for bundles today (just need giant sting ray and I’ll have completed them all.) I called out in chat that there were a ton of rare bugs spawning in hideaway/pulse and someone else caught a starred rainbow, someone set a lure at the pulse fast travel and they got rainbows, etc.

I’m really not lucky, I fished/bug hunted for ages. Today somehow I caught void, rainbow, and unicorn. I swear it’s a day of the update thing! I’ve spent sooo much time trying and somehow everyone else is also super lucky? Here’s examples of my luck:

• literal real life days before I got the uncommon piranha needed for one of Hodari’s quests
• 16 proudhorns straight til I got their antlers (doesn’t include however many I hunted before I got them.)
• 62 ||chaapas til I got the item for a quest||

I am the opposite of lucky in this game. Maybe today was just being paid back for all of my suffering 😂
