It just take money and farming. You get points for feeding and petting the animals so you can get all the points by just Feeding the baby animals then Donating them. You might even get the Treats from the treat bags.

The only time I really Agree is trying to get the Maws. I only need the infected Maws for the achievement as well as to upgrade all of the Artifacts and its such a pain. All the other fish are way more fun to look for.

I’ve been playing diligently since September and still haven’t gotten the smooth shiny pebble. The drop rate is horrendous. It is apparently recommended to collect 1000 oysters and then open them all in one sitting. If you still haven’t received it, then contact support. I’m currently sitting on about 600. Good luck

Ok, so after playing over 230hrs in Palia, I've got to say it is a REALLY good game. Nice and casual, super friendly people and not 'too' difficult to do anything... except.... when you're down to catching your last five rare fish, to complete various things and so far having to spend between 300 - 500 glow worms PER fishing attempt PER different fish... and still NOT catching the fish... now it is becoming WAY too grindy and VERRRRRY boring!!

Unfortunately it all comes down to RNG. I'm 700+ hours in and there are still some fish I don't have like Maws or the Majiri jelly. Meanwhile my partner just started a couple months ago and has had insanely good luck getting all the fish they need. I really hope you start having better luck soon though!

When the shark jumps up, look at the belly color, that will be the easiest way to tell

You may also be able to see the eye marking of Maws on initial bite, but I haven't fished in EW in a while myself so I can't recall precisely.

@uncut girder yes a few of them. Use the buffs from the food and also the fish Hook you can get from einar. I've had luck in the little inlet just north of the lighthouse during the correct hours

@muted coral you can get a special potion in elder woods that does the same as return to home plot. Some people like to carry it so they don't have to wait the 15 minutes.

You can have 3 lockboxes for a total of 300 storage. They are good for stuff you don't want to accidentally cook/craft with. I also keep my wallpaper and floors in there so they are easier to look through

Yes YA can breed. They have a dispassionate status if they can't breed, when you interact with them in the lowest portion of all the trait lists are status effects. You can also see them in the roster book.

the fishing controls should be similar if not the same between switch and xbox since they are both controller based, though because of the poorer performance of the switch, it can be harder getting fish. i would use the fish dish and hook buffs to help you with the fishing

Generally, the drop rates for plushies are much higher for rare or epic animals/bugs. Like we went bug hunting the other day and got 2 will-o-wisp plushies but we only caught 10 total will-o-wisps

Meanwhile we caught hundreds of grumpies (common) and got 2 grumpy plushies, because the drop rate is much lower for more common things

was a year or so ago, there was a brand new map being built and the bugs where big quests like where u have to go in this cave area that takes you to a floating area with little floating ponds u need fish at, was a very complex quest..

The Elderwood expansion released in May 2025. It sounds like you're referring to the Temple of Gales quests, which were/are/have been finished and completed. Many bug fixes have been completed since November 2024 when you last visited, too many to mention here in a comment, but, the monthly patch notes detail the fixes well.
