Well it's random which mushrooms they'll give you, since it's any mushroom in game. but if you have 8+ trufflets, you'll probably get a decent amount of the elderclam ones. Save up a couple days of those and then open them all at once.

Go through a small checklist:

1. Make sure you have all the ingredients for new rod (and they're not in lockbox)
2. Check to see if your previous rod is a tier lower than the new one, since the rod can break and decrease in upgrade level
3. If all else fails, send a bug report.
