I learned after I had been so careful to make sure I lost none of my inventory… when you pick up a chest its inventory stays in your home inventory, and you can access it. You just can’t place anything new into your inventory until you place a chest that brings your limit above what you’ve got stored again

Rose bushes seed so if you have one you have an unlimited supply. Unless you have very soon plans for them I suggest selling most (but make sure the ones you keep have a number and not a flower for their stage, that means they can still give seeds)
