It's common etiquette to call out location in chat and wait for everyone to come and cut at 3am or later if more people are on the way. Tapping each tree one time to get the loot even other people cut it. If you wanted two effects for your apples you could put it in the center 3x3 (youd lose an apple tree that way) and do harvest boost (corn,wheat,corn) on one side, and water boost (tomato,potato,tomato) for 2 effects on apple tree.

i'm supposed to be catching star quality uncommon fish for a quest but i keep getting ones i've never caught before, and my general rule is to keep the first star quality of any fish i've never caught before

you can take them home to keep them and get more instead, it won't turn it in automatically unless you speak to the npc! but be careful if you talk to them before you put the ones you want to keep away, or it might give them the wrong ones
