If you sold them/gifted them no there's no way to keep track of the quantity of the fish you caught, but you can see what types of fish you have caught in the achievements section (there's an achievement for catching all normal fish and one for all starred fish)

Looking up the Steam player count right now and it says about 9k people are actively playing with a peak player number of 12k at once. Before placing a lure you can ask around if anyone wants to join. That way you can inv them to party and you share the loot more.
Also if they are a lot of people, just toss bombs everywhere randomly don't focus on 1 bug, it will stay because so many people will be tossing bombs at it.

When you see one, call it out in chat, with the map square it is in (if you open the map, you will see a chessboard-like grid)

You only really need two people for the large flow trees. If you get up high enough in level. you can take out the med and small flow trees by yourself. no need to wait for others for the big ones unless you want to that is.
